Courthouse Club Fitness in Lancaster is a vibrant and inviting fitness center known for its friendly staff and clean facilities. Members appreciate the diverse activities available, including various classes and a dedicated kids' play area, making it a great choice for families. Many users love the saltwater pools, saunas, and the engaging jiu-jitsu team, enhancing the overall experience.
Even though some customers have raised concerns about pricing, the club's facilities and amenities, such as protein smoothies and personal training, are often deemed worth the cost. The club is recognized for its welcoming environment and the sense of community fostered among members.

Courthouse Club Fitness - Lancaster: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Pleasant place to do various activities ❤️
Glo - Thanks for the five stars. I'm glad you are plugged into a lot of different things! Thanks for choosing Courthouse - Drew
Fantastic experience: If you haven't tried Courthouse Club Fitness please go there now. There is a kid area so if you have no babysitter for your kid please bring them to the gym there's a kid's play area for the kids and at the front desk you can buy some cookies for your kids and you can buy some drinks there's multiple if you don't want to go that's okay it's pretty pricey but once you pay it's all worth it if you don't want to spend any money that's on you but if you do there's a opportunity if you don't want to go please go want to go you will always go back to that place want to go it's amazing when you pay it's all worth it.
Bella - Thanks for the five stars! I'm glad the club has been a good fit for you and your family. We've worked hard over the last few years to make our clubs a place for the family again. There is a cost to everything we provide but if you use the club often, it's well worth it. If not, like anything, it's not worth it. I'm glad you are making regular use of the club and it's encouraging to hear that your kids enjoy their visits also. A protein smoothie is a great way to finish a visit =) Thanks for choosing Courthouse - Drew
Fantastic experience: Had an issue but it was remedied.
Alex - Your situation is unfortunate. I'd like to help. Based on the information (your name) in your google review, I was unable to locate your profile in our member management system. If you wouldn't mind emailing me at [email protected], I'm certain we can find a way forward that is more satisfactory. I'm happy to provide you with your membership agreement. I'm also happy to work with you to deal with months of memberships that you paid for that you were unable to use due to your medical situation. Our best members are those that use the club, use it often and tell others how great Courthouse is. Reach out via email and let's connect. - Drew
Fantastic experience: I love the friendly staff, the salt water pools, the saunas, & the impact jiujitsu team!
Parker - Thanks for the review. Sounds like you've found a few great ways to enjoy Courthouse. I was just at the Lancaster club yesterday and I had the same thought regarding the pools, steam and sauna areas. Glad Impact Jiu Jitsu is living up to its reputation of excellence! Thanks again for choosing Courthouse and for taking the time to review us. -Drew
Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and it’s very spacious! I love that they have a coffee shop that also serves protein smoothies!
Daniela - Thanks for the great review, glad you are loving the club! My favorite protein smoothie is the chocolate, peanut butter, mocha with a shot of coffee in it. If you haven't tried a Group Fitness class, you definitely should. Classes are our best kept secret (but we don't want them to be a secret). See you in the club! - Drew
Negative experience: I pay the membership because we like to use the pool and hot tub, but lately its been unbearable the smell of bleach specially in the hot-tub, it was not only me there was an older lady that lasted 1 minute i the hot tub and decided to get out as she couldn't stand the smell. I went to the one in West salem and it has the same problem. I am thinking about canceling mine and my mom’s membership.
Hi Diana - Thanks for leaving a review. If this is your only issue with the club, I'm confident we can turn your 1 star into 5. Water chemistry is something we pride ourselves on. We are inspected often by the county and it's been years since we've had to close a body of water due to poor water chemistry (or any reason). We do encounter situations from time to time that will throw off water chemistry. In some cases the Ph levels may cause your skin to feel a bit irritated or your eyes to burn. As you mentioned, when this occurs there is usually an oder that makes the issue obvious. We'll get on this right away, in fact, I'd be willing to be the issue has already been address but I will make sure of it. We have systems in place to notice safety concerns, maintenance issues or cleanliness items before our members do. While I ceritanly don't want to rely on members as the feedback loop, you are an important component in our feedback loop. Moving forward there are a couple easy ways that you can document and report issues to us. Within the Courthouse app there is a button that says "Feedback". If you click on this you can submit a report for any issue around the club. Depending on the "issue type" it will forward to the Club Director and any other appropriate party like our Facilities, IT or Operations Directors (in some cases all of the above). This allows for immediate feedback and a quick response to the issue. Thanks again for making your concern known. Should you decide to continue, I don't think you'll find this to be a regular occurrence. - Drew
Fantastic experience: Very clean and new
Tiffany - Thanks for the five star review. Glad you are loving the Lancaster club. We are really happy with how the new renovation project turned out! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Very nice atmosphere and excellent for doing various activities
Lupitha - Glad you are loving all the options available to you. I hope you have been able to plug into a few of our group classes. They are simply the best! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Great people. The sauna is currently at 140 degrees tho if someone could come fix it. 180-200 would be a miracle at this point.
C C - Thanks for the review. I just responded to a similar comment from another member so I apologize for giving you the same response but it's the only one I have. If you use often I'm sure you've noticed the "keep our sauna's running" campaign we've initiated at the club. Long story short, our saunas are breaking frequently and consistently due to member abuse. People put WAY too much water directly on the heating elements and do other dumb stuff like cover the thermostat. While this temporarily increases the temperature of the sauna (which is what I imagine is desired) it also destroys the units and causes them to operate poorly or not at all. We have asked that members pour ZERO water on the sauna rocks and of course not mess with the thermostats. In addition we increased the based temperature in each sauna from 180 degrees to 190 degrees. Right at the state limitation. Lastly, we have steam rooms in all locations so if members desire a more humid environment, they can hop next door to the steam room. Members that continue to abuse the sauna will be terminated. Assuming the abuse stops, you should see your sauna running properly at 190 degrees each time you visit. - Drew
Negative experience: You know what you did
Positive experience: Nice gym just too expensive
Veronica - Thanks for the review. We do everything we can to operate clubs that are somewhat luxury and still keep our fees as low as we can. All the classes, training options, kids programs and amenities we offer come with a price. I always encourage folks to save on coffee, cable or dining out expenses and spend a few extra dollars on a membership you can use daily. $68 pales in comparison to what most people spend on other non-essential spending. If you love the clubs and use them often, we are a steal and like anything, if you're not making regular use of the club then there is no price that makes sense.
Fantastic experience: Staff members are all so welcoming & always happy to help or answer any questions you may have. This is my favorite location!
Ruby - Thanks for the great review. The Lancaster Club is beautiful, I'm glad you are enjoying the ammentities. If you haven't already, check out our group classes and training options. They are #1! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! As soon as I get new knees I’ll be back!
Larry - Best of luck with your knee replacements! We'll be here when you are ready to return. Thank you so much for the great review! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Friendly and clean
B T - Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you are enjoying the club! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Very nice
Thanks for the five start review! Glad you are loving the Lancaster club! - Drew
Negative experience: Something is always broken. Steam room and hot tub now. Said its a “Supply Chain Issue”. Had guests on two different occasions. First night the young lady was super helpful and friendly. Second time a younger male not so much. When leaving and older guy stopped my guest in a cold manner and said he needed to sign a form. My guest explained that he already did and upon further investigation the staff member discovered he was wrong. Slightly embarrassing and he should have collected the correct information before he came at them like that. Needs to be better training of staff apparently, especially on guest policies so that when questions arise they don’t respond with “uggghhhhh”
Danny - Thanks for the feedback. We certainly have a coaching opportunity if that was your experience regarding the customer service you received when registering your guest. We'll work to correct that. Regarding the Steam and Spa, it is not uncommon to experience issues after a major remodel project. I won't bore you with the details but has very little to do with a supply chain issue. It's more of a diagnostic issue. One issue arises and we fix it. Another issue crops up and we attempt to remedy that and in the meantime yet another issue comes to the surface. Working through all the kinks with heaters, pumps, timers etc. can be a bit of a challenge but I am confident we have all of our systems all dialed in. The spa jets should be functional shortly. - Drew
Negative experience: They have a great concept but know one answers the phone to answer questions.
ps - Looks like you were able to knock out a number of reviews this morning. Feel free to call anytime. We've got a whole team waiting to pick up the line between 8:30a-6p. You can dial me directly on my personal line at 503.584.5717. or you can chat with us online at courthousefit.com. - Drew
Negative experience: 10 dollars one-time subscription no longer works in this establishment if you write in capital letters on the website
Negative experience: I came for the first time for 10 dollars to try to stretch my sore back, friends advised me to have a hot jacuzzi, in fact it turned out to be a cold jacuzzi, well, I think next time I come they will repair the jacuzzi, the second time they didn’t let me in at all, buy a subscription - I don’t need it, I I rarely thought about going 2-4 times a month...
Negative experience: I went in once for $10, and then the managers asked me to buy a membership, I don’t need it, I rarely go. I have never seen worse service. I give one star
Geka - Typically when a potential customer trials a product they are asked if they would like to make a purchase afterward. I'm sorry this was seen as poor service. Sounds like you have a good routine going. Best of luck. - Drew
Negative experience: For being one of the pricier gyms in the area, the service and equipment falls fairly short In this Courthouse location. Several malfunctioning equipment, old and egged basketballs and service to match.
Daniel - Thanks for the feedback. Disappointing because you shouldn't have to be dealing with these issues but encouraging because they are easy to remedy. If you'd like to provide additional information regarding specific pieces of equipment that need attention, feel free to email me directly at [email protected] , I'd email you directly but I couldn't find your profile in our member database. - Drew
Fantastic experience: Great new look and fresh remodel
Bob - Thanks for the review! Keep being awesome! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience. Nice, clean facilities. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend. And they are waiving the sign up fee this month (July, 2023) so, I would go if you want to workout or hit the spa(jacuzzi),sauna or pool. They offer classes also in various fitness activities.
Fantastic experience: [Response: Okay, Drew, I didn't know I could still use the spin bikes even when a class is in session. Good to know! 5 stars for me then.] It is not a bad place. I think it's $65/month for access to all locations and every location has a pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi with locker rooms. $5/month for a personal locker. $30/month to use the kid's place for 2 hours max per day. The Keizer and West location have outdoor pools where the kids swim in a lot. They have Kickboxing, Yoga, Jui Jitsu, Spin classes, and personal trainers. I give this place 4 stars mainly because I think the Cycling Bikes there should be some outside of the spin classes because when I'm off work classes are always in session during the times I want to use the cycling bikes. There is also a $5/month fee to use my credit card instead of my banking account which isn't too big of a deal to me, since I read reviews of them not wanting to cancel accounts. These Courthouse Club Fitness places seem okay so far and I'm able to keep to myself without anyone bothering me, which is really what I like in a gym is to be left alone to relax then leave. LOL.
Sophie - Thanks for the great review! You are welcome to grab a spin bike and ride along with a class anytime. No one is going to bother you if you're not following along =) Sounds like you know what you want to be doing when your at the gym but if you ever need any help don't hesitate to reach out. - Drew
Positive experience: I've been hesitant to write a review as I've been a member for over a year and a half. Extensive amount of parking space available even during busy hours. At night it's well lit & my personal favorite because it helps me feel safe when I walk to my car alone After the remodel, I regularly see staff cleaning the facility. There's always an abundance of small towels to wipe down machines along with numerous spray bottles. Weight area- I enjoy the set up. It can be kinda inconvenient when they have a class going on in the turf area next door. I only say this because there's no other area to sit and stretch during construction. I read a review that said something along the lines of the class only being 4 people &they take up the whole room...which is kind of true. Multiple times I've had trainers notify me there will be a class going on shortly, kicking me out 15 minutes til the hour. I'm not trying to minimize their group effort at all. By all means get your groove on. But like, can't I just use the little corner to stretch. It'll only take 7 minutes and then I'm out! Construction- The biggest inconvenience/upset is how long it's taking for the locker rooms to be up & running during their remodel. Their "temporary changing room" is substandard. With the price I'm paying I'd like to be able to utilize the locker room & showers. The main reason I renewed my membership with Courthouse is how convenient the location is for me. So if I want to use the sauna or another amenity that is unavailable during construction my next closest choice is dealing with traffic on the West Salem bridge towards their Edgewater location, Keizer, BattleCreek or South River Road. See my dilemma? I already have a hard time mustering up the courage to step foot in the gym, now I gotta go the extra miles to another spot. Premium membership- maybe I'm not getting my full bang for my buck & need to talk to staff to console me on current classes/activities. I also don't feel comfortable asking whoever is at the front desk as I'll explain later. My biggest let down is their rule that only your guest can visit 5 times out of the calendar year. To my understanding I can have as many different guests...they can only come 5 times. As stated earlier, I'm timid to enter the gym so having a friend/family come along with eases how anxious I can get. For that reason, I don't believe my premium membership is worth it if they are limiting the amount of visits my guest can enter. My guest(s) are the primary reason I upgraded to a premium membership. My biggest con of this facility is how unwelcoming some staff can be. Keyword: SOME. I've been greeted by the elderly staff who wave or smile as they walk by when closing time is near. They are the sweetest. Younger staff often give their welcome and goodbyes. However twice already by different caucasian workers I had a not so pleasant encounter at the front desk while I am trying to check in my guest. One might've been a trainer, so I'll get started with him. When I entered there was 4 employees behind the front desk. 3/4 were occupied with other members on the computer. Once I scanned my barcode I stood there waiting to make eye contact with someone to check in my guest. The one employee that was not busy, casually drinking his water, avoiding eye contact for a hot minute finally looked my way& said "What do you guys need" incredibly bothered. There I am standing with my indigenous guest flabbergasted, I respond that I needed to check in my guest. Perhaps the trainer needs to be trained on customer service. A similar issue occurred while trying to check in a different ethnic guest. The white woman received the name of my hispanic guest and automatically said “You only have 2 visits left” My sister stated she had only been here one other time. Someone else stepped in &said it must've been a double click from the first day. The first worker didn’t apologize for misreading the computer in front of her, continued to aggressively advertise that after her 5th visit she NEEDS to become a member in order to come in.
Positive experience: It's a good fitness club, and I like the fact that it's clean and kept up well.
Joe - Glad you are enjoying the club. The locker rooms, pool, spa, steam and sauna will be shortly! Thanks for the great review! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Very polite on the phone and great customer service
Maria - Thank you for the fabulous review and thank you for choosing Couthouse! It's a privilege to serve you! - Drew
Positive experience: Still under construction.
Fantastic experience: We love our memberships to Courthouse fitness club. Our first time at Lancaster location - it’s currently getting a $4.5 million dollar remodel so a lot seemed off limits - the pool and hot tub for sure was not available to enjoy yet we enjoyed the open court for my son and I to play basketball - he kept dunking on me!
Justin - Glad to hear your are enjoying the club. I saw some of the photo's of you and your son shooting hoops. It makes my heart happy. Thanks for choosing Courthouse! We are excited to open our new weight room and cardio area at our Lancaster club in just two weeks! Locker rooms, steam, sauna, pool and spa to follow! - Drew
Fantastic experience: The staff and trainers genuinely care about you, your workout and health. Group classes are fun! If I miss a class people notice. I have gained more than strength here. I have gained friends.
Sondelyn - Thanks you for the kind words. We absolutly believe fitness should be simple and fun. Part of that fun is working out with other likeminded people that care about one another. Keep up the good work! - Drew
Fantastic experience: There is tons of wonderful people, and stuff to do. I would call it my second home.
Crystal - Thanks you for the great review and the kind words! We believe a healthy lifestyle is more maintainable when you are doing it others. Thanks for being a part of our community. - Drew
Negative experience: One of the workers is over dramatically talking about me and threatened to put a note on my account because someone let me have a remote for a massage chair
Christian - The massage chairs are available with our Premium memberships or can be purchased per session. If you had an issue where you paid for the service and someone was giving you a hard, feel free to ask for the manager of the location. We always want our members feeling comfortable in our clubs. Once you are over 14, you can use any part of the club without adult supervision. - Drew
Fantastic experience: I visit this gym at least 6 times a week at various times of the day and absolutely LOVE every time I go in there. The environment is inviting. The staff members are always attentive. The managers are down-to-earth, personable people that often walkthe gym areas and make meaningful conversation and relations with the members. Fun is always an opportunity with the groupx classes, the various spaces for exercise (even during the remodel) and the communities that surround them. If you are an independent trainee, people are friendly and accommodating to treat each other with common respect here. Anyone that doesn’t feel welcome here is due to any negative energy or character behavior that makes them feel inferior. This is THE PERFECT GYM!! And it’ll be even better with the new upcoming remodeled areas Come to first Friday of the month mornings for Gluten-Free Protein Muffins and Coffee!!
Gerardo - We couldn't ask for a better review! Glad you are loving the club. We are excited to roll out our brand new incredible weight room space along with a completely updated cardio area in Q1 of 2023. Locker rooms and overhauled steam, sauna, spa and pool to follow! We work hard to make the member experience a positive one, it's encouraging that it's noticed. Thanks for being a member. - Drew
Negative experience: Want an inconvenient gym?! Then the courthouse is the one for you! Super horrible gym with so many inconveniences. I was dumb enough to sign a contract for a year that is definitely not worth it, don't be dumb go to another gym. You can't even find a place to stretch here without being in the way and in the middle of everything. They have "classes " that mostly 1 or 2 people will attend but they have to take up all the stretching room even though they have a room for classes they rather mess everyone else . Can't find a treadmill thats working and doesn't have an error on it ? Oh well. This gym is bad don't sign up. The 10$gyms are way better than this .
Miguel - I appreciate the feedback although I don't agree with your assessment. We are in the middle of a massive remodel upgrade to our Lancaster location. Completing this project requires the closure of certain area for a period of time, so finding extra space might be a challenge for the next few months. After the new year however, you will start to see the spaces opening up. Our cardio area will be all new, along with a overhauled weight room that is substantially larger and more equipped than our current space. Lastly, what sets us apart from other games is our focus on simple and fun exercise. We are all about getting people into groups and working out together with an instructor. For many this provides the direction, accountability and motivation they need. If you don't need that, you might indeed be better served at a $10 gym. - Drew
Fantastic experience: Updated Review! I have changed my review to a 5 star rating as the issues raised were quickly resolved and the gym is back to being clean and an amazing place to workout! Thank you team courthouse fitness and thank you Drew for your quick resolution! Would 100% recommend this gym!! This gym used to be super clean! Unfortunately it has been like this for a long time now and before construction started. We get it that the location is under construction but whoever is the cleaning crew needs to be re-trained or replaced. The white cloth was after one wipe of the barbell. The staff are really nice and friendly and deserve a 5 star. Would recommend if the location was cleaner.
Ron - Thanks for saying something. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our clubs so if there is room to improve we want to do it. I appreciate the photo's you've attached, they are helpful. I'm positive you'll notice a difference in the coming days. - Drew
Positive experience: this place is practical, unless you have a game plan try joining a class first, going with friends, or getting a personal trainer so you wont feel so lost. sadly the locker rooms are under construction til further notice.
Avi - Thanks for the review. Our classes are what set us apart! Lots of options for any age or fitness level. Locker rooms, pool, spa, steam and sauna will all be completed in early '23. I promise it will be worth the wait! - Drew
Fantastic experience: Great people. Helped me from the start even though I was in a bad accident
Mickael - Glad we were able to help! Thanks for the great review and thanks for choosing Courthouse. - Drew
Positive experience: Clean place, nice gym and it has everything you need
Monze - We appreciate the great review. We are just starting the process of upgrading many areas of the club! More great spaces, equipment and classes to come! -Drew
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and they have everything you want from a gym.
Iris - Thanks for the glowing review! We appreciate you! -Drew
Fantastic experience: I love the friendly environment of Lancaster courthouse! The people and employees are great . I've been a regular at the club for about 2-3 years now. I loved it so much I became an employee there. My bosses and now co-workers are amazing . You really can't go wrong with choosing this place.
Thanks Jesse! Keep being awesome!
Positive experience: Good facility but please fix sauna!
Positive experience: I like it all inclusive meaning people of different ages are all getting their healthy on. No judgement try it!
Negative experience: They need to fix the sauna, it's frustrating for us to pay our fees to then have useless equipment. It's been almost a month of disappointment every time I come in the gym to find out the sauna is not even hot. We will take our business somewhere else if they don't want to listen to their customers.
Negative experience: I’ll give the Courthouse credit for having nice facilities, up to date equipment, great amenities and friendly staff. However, management (local and corporate), in my experience, ignore concerns expressed by members with regard to safety issues, pool rules, maintenance issues. When COVID lockdown first happened, Courthouse was fined $$$$$ for remaining open against government orders. They continued to draw dues from members while the facilities were closed. Offered online classes instead which were inferior. NOW they are not consistently following Oregon requirements that masks be worn indoors. This puts staff and members at risk. As a “health and wellness” company driven by members success, I find them to be closed to problem solving or feedback from membership. I can’t help but feel that they take members for granted because Salem doesn’t have many choices for large facilities with full amenities.
Fantastic experience: Great facility.
Positive experience: Time for renovations.
Hi J M, we are just about to start a large renovation at our Lancaster location. Stay tuned for updates.
Negative experience: I really wish I could give this gym a good review. But… I cant. The facility is nice. The people are friendly. BUT… I had to stop auto pay with my bank because I was being MASSIVELY over charged. Once they couldnt just take as much money as they wanted, then they were willing to listen. I gave them a second chance and once again was MASSIVELY over charged, like several months worth. So I once again have to pay my bank to stop Auto pay. Unless you have HUNDREDS to spend every month for the gym, STAY AWAY.
Leanna, I'd like an opportunity to look into your situation but based on the name provided, I am unable to locate your profile in our system. If you would like to message us directly (or here if you prefer) with more information, we will do our best to rectify this situation. Obviously with over 15,000 members and 40 years serving the Salem/Keizer community, we are not out to over charge our members and guests for services they didn't agree to.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful trainers and chill atmosphere.
Negative experience: Cons: Not a lot of equipment. Very busy every time I’ve been there. The smell is pretty bad all over. I couldn’t bring myself to do push-ups because the carpet was very dirty. Other gym members are very rude and not a lot of elbow room. Pros: employees are nice and there’s a pool.
Positive experience: Love this gym! Clean, great classes, and the hours are perfect for my schedule Women's restroom has a hole in the ceiling so it's a little chilly but otherwise no complaints
Fantastic experience: Love this place. They refuse to bow down to ridiculous government regulations.
Fantastic experience: Love the staff...stumpy, ninja Smurf, pony boy, rainbow bright, Energizer Bunny and all the rest.
Fantastic experience: Love this site
Positive experience: The gym equipment set up doesn’t make much sense. Looks cool but is not efficient for weight training. The workout mats are gross and falling apart. More therapeutic equipment like heavy duty resistance bands would be helpful. However all the staff members have been lovely so 10 out of 10 for the humans!
Fantastic experience: From indoor/pools to personal trainers, this gym had it all. It definitely has a "high quality" feel to it compared to other gyms. On first sign up we started with a free body scan and a free meeting with a personal trainer; The staff are so helpful and so accommodating!
Fantastic experience: Great place
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean. Had fun swimming.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for standing up against the government for the fitness community. Sadly, while you they were trying to shut you down, they were trying to figure out how to open the borders during the middle of Covid-19. The government proved their politics is more important than the health and sanity of Americans.
Fantastic experience: GREAT PEOPLE
Fantastic experience: It's a good place that has everything, I recommend it.
Fantastic experience: I've been here twice so far. It's a great gym. Will definitely be going back!
Fantastic experience: First and foremost, this place is 100% COVID-19 safe. Everyone wears face coverings, including during vigorous exercise. All the staff are awesome, ultra clean facility, and fabulous pool. I couldn't be happier with Courthouse!! I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to work-out in a safe environment.
Positive experience: Wonderful gym. Kinda small, not a whole lot of room in the weight room tho. I still love it and I go 5 days a week.
Fantastic experience: We need more places and business owners like the one who runs this place. Thank you for standing up for our freedoms.
Positive experience: The remodel looks good but it's the area that's still tough
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Fantastic experience: They are wonderful
Negative experience: Really? They still asking you for commitment. Not long ago I saw a billboard that said 'NO commitment'. No thanks.
Fantastic experience: This location has always been amazing and very kind. The manager was amazing and flexible. They have gone above and beyond during this time.
Fantastic experience: Excellent workout
Thanks Timothy! We're glad you're enjoying your workouts with Courthouse.
Fantastic experience: I wish more gyms were this friendly and easy to use!
Positive experience: Nice gym. Employees were nice.
Negative experience: Very overpriced! Most expensive gym I’ve used. Classes are fun but times offered are for those who don’t work, not realistic for those of us who work. Pool at south river rd looks dirty all the time. I can get better quality machines for $10 a month anywhere else in Salem..
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for just over 2 years. I came to Lancaster Courthouse because I needed help, couldn’t progress on my own, had not been in a gym since the 80’s, and was hesitant. I didn’t expect the high a level of attention and professionalism. Assessments and adjustments to my training happen often. I like the trainers (Ryan, AJ, Rosie) knowing who I am and how to push me. I like the management (Phil) and staff greeting me when I walk in, encouraging me when I work, and helping me feel accomplished when I walk out. Phil (Mgr.) and Ryan (Head Trainer) have even given friendly personal challenges in my workouts to add motivation. I like feeling at home.
Fantastic experience: Pleasant staff, well equipped gyms and an excellent pool and hot tub!!
Negative experience: Some staff could benefit from customer service training
Negative experience: Was a member of the club for years. Throughout the years the staff and facility became more and more of poor standard. Would recommend any other gym for the price and service.
Positive experience: Nice peaceful place to work out and relax courtious employees to help with questions
Fantastic experience: I love going to my gym place really nice staff and the equipment is really easy to use.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and friendly and caring instructors
Negative experience: Lousy location. High theft rate on parked cars.
Fantastic experience: The best, work out facility in the Salem area.
Positive experience: Excellent place
Fantastic experience: Great place, great staff, and good prices
Positive experience: Very nice; however, if you are wanting to use hot tub, it has only one jet per seat, and the chlorine is harsh on eyes (unless you are used to that type of water). Overall nice place to visit.
Fantastic experience: Great equipment, very clean and reasonably priced.
Fantastic experience: Going here for Bench mark pt
Fantastic experience: Love new class at Lancaster on Wednesday nights, 6:30 PM called High Fitness. It's a High Intensity aerobics class. Tracy, the Instructor is super approachable and helpful; As is Leslie V. who substitutes. Exercise modifications included during the hour workout for most skillsets.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful exterior, beautiful interior, beautiful people. I was visiting Salem yesterday and wanted to get a workout in for the day and opened my phone to discover this gym. Upon arrival, I was a little lackluster to see how "small" the gym as compared to other ones I have been to. Oh, how wrong was I to judge a book by its cover. The doors at the entrance into the building are freaking automatic. Some may say, "Who cares?" Well, I do! Because having those doors not only shows the level of quality of the gym but do you know how freaking inconvenient it is to hold the door open for people when enter or exiting a gym? Anyways, I was surprised to see how nice the person was behind the front desk. I never caught her name, but the customer service I received was 100x better than the people I have dealt with at 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University. The questions I had about the gym were answered kindly and I was even offered to be given a tour around the facility as well! The gym is huge. If you look at the photos I posted of the entrance, it's a lot bigger than it looks in real life. Now, I'm not going to be a fanboy and completely bias. The interior of the gym may be spacious and wide, the number of equipment and machines the gym had was disappointing considering the price that you pay for a membership is $62 a month. The weight room contains only two power racks that are also used for bench pressing as well. There are two more power racks, but they are in the personal trainer room and can only be used if there is no session in progress. The machines are fairly new, they use the same kind of machines that Planet Fitness uses. There is a decent amount of treadmills and stationary bikes in their own separate rooms, but not much more cardio machines when compared to commercial gyms like Planet Fitness and L.A. Fitness. The last part I want to mention is the community. The community is AMAZING. The employees and the members I have spoken to were are too friendly. I don't know if it's because people in Salem are super nice or if it's the vibe coming from the gym itself, but I was blown away. The niceness is on par with Planet Fitness and Hyatt Hotel gyms, and hundreds of miles beyond better than 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and workout at Courthouse Fitness and I would highly recommend all my friends and family to try it out.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and clean gym! You can see the staff cleaning the gym while you work out. It’s a much better change than from the gym I used to go to where you never saw the equipment cleaned even once and everything seemed to have a layer of grime on it.
Fantastic experience: AWESOME PLACE
Positive experience: Nice club. Equipment is dated.
Fantastic experience: Great staff and a really nice facility. Fun classes. They are respectful of my goals not including weight loss.
Fantastic experience: Love the courthouse so much!!!
Positive experience: So expect this post to be updated! Beautiful facility. Lots of different weights to choose from. I have yet to have trouble finding an open machine. (I go in the early morning) you can always find a space to go workout away from people or stretch if you need it. I haven't tried the personal trainers yet but I have seen some around and they seem positive and competent. I do wish they had an area of the gym dedicated to stretching. There are two rooms they hold classes in that you can take a yoga mat into and stretch out. But both of these are isolated rooms and they don't have mirrors or permanent mats out. It totally works and it's not a big deal but it is one on the ONLY critiques I have. My only other critiques would be the music choice of the rooms. TO BE FAIR. I have not tried asking them to change it so it's VERY possible they would change the station if asked. Plus most people wear headphones and probably would never even notice "American Pie" blaring through the weight room at 7:30AM. Another good thing about this gym is the pool. It's a great lap pool that always has a lane open. If your a swimmer no other gyms are going to beat Courthouse in this part of town. There is also a sizeable hot tub that I highly recommend. Overall great gym. I'll update you as changes are made to the club or if I try out any classes! Update!! I asked about the music today. The front desk said they had no control over the music but would ask for me. I'll update again soon!
Negative experience: You pay 3 times more then any other gym and still have to pay a yearly fee... They have a tiny work out area. The whole center of it is for cross fit that goes on all day. So you get to work around them and against the walls as thats the only room available. The pool either has classes going or swim team 3 times a week. The 6 months i was working out here the suana was broken down for 4 months. So basicly you pay premium money for a small over crowded workout room, pool and sauna that you cant use, and workout equipment that looks to be bought when i was in middle school. Im 31 now. Save your money and time, go with a place thats 10 bucks a month and has nicer gear and better services all around.
Positive experience: Good but overpriced. There are good lower cost alternatives
Fantastic experience: Love going to the gym
Thanks Roberto. We're happy to have you!
Fantastic experience: great place to go to do exactly what u are there for. not a million people sitting at machines just taking selfies.. trainers are awesome and motivating. amenities are worth every cent.
Hi Shanda, thanks so much for the great review!
Positive experience: Number of people coming here are lesser than the west one. So it's good to get the equipments readily available.
This opinion is simple and straightforward. :) Thanks!
