Atrius Health Boston Copley: Reviews
Negative experience: Some of the doctors are crazy about charging patients as much as they can. If your health insurance has deductible, I'd suggest you avoid this office or Atrius Health. Otherwise you will have to pay a lot of extra out of pocket payment. I have seen 3 doctors associated with this facility. All of them behave the same, charging you as much as they can. I had 2 duplicated services done by two doctors, with equal amount of charge. I had a doctor charging me double when I asked for a referral during a physical. Avoid it.
Fantastic experience: Two thumbs up and a million stars (not just the 5 stars posted) to customer service Kathleen. I do not know her last name but I spoke to her this morning and have spoken to her in the past as well. She goes above and beyond to help in any way she can and is also very pleasant and friendly. Kudos to Kathleen. Thank you so much. Keep being so awesome. It is very much appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Great!
Negative experience: Yesterday, I had to be rushed to the ER for kidney stones. I’m in severe pain and reached out to my pcp for pain meds. No one had the decency to return my call today. I called 3 times, and through crippling pain had to provide the same information multiple times. This is not compassionate care. I’m extremely disappointed in their lack of professionalism. They didn’t even have the decency to simply provide a yes or no. Now I must go through the weekend without pain meds, and will possibly have to pay another fee to see urgent care.
Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of HV for several years now and I wanted to take a moment to thank the staff for being so wonderful! A special shout out to the pharmacy. For a while now I've been seeing two pharmacists working in the pharmacy. An African-American woman and an Asian man and these two work really hard. Always very pleasant and on the ball
Fantastic experience: The staff at this place are phenomenal. Front-desk, medical assistants, phebotomy & X-ray techs, pharmacy team, and physicians/NPs - they are all courteous, helpful, and make me feel welcome and listened to. Best patient experience I've ever had.
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Atrius for a few years now. My PCP at Copley, Dr. Moussa-Pervane , is terrific. She is thoughtful, bright and very responsive. I never feel like I'm being rushed and I feel like I have received a high level of care from both my PCP and from other practitioners in the Atrius group. Having all my information and records accessible as I move through different specialties has been a very efficient process and I appreciate having access to my own health information, notes from visits etc. As a side note, I find the pharmacy at Copley very helpful as well, and they actually know me when I go in to pick up prescriptions! I feel lucky to have landed at Atrius.
Fantastic experience: Just want to thank Donna at the front desk she is the best very welcoming Nd helpful.
Negative experience: The Doctor’s office refused to give me A1C test as a preventative lab. I am pre-diabetic and wanted to test at 3 months gap. Although they readily recommend me medication but refused for the lab test for preventative care. Such a disappointment. I think the whole US medical system is capitalistic.
Fantastic experience: My experience there was awesome recommended to everybody
Fantastic experience: Had such a lovely experience here. Dr. Michelle Chan and her nurse, Nicole were some of the best care I have received at Atrius. They were kind, efficient, and incredibly considerate. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I have never felt so comfortable & cared for at a medical facility. Every staff member is kind and invested in you, even those at the front desk! The central Boston location is phenomenal and I’m always able to easily make an appointment when I need one. Highly recommend Dr. Kate Durgin in the OB/ Gynecology department- she’s wonderful and comfortable!
Negative experience: It’s gone downhill. Providers are leaving and it’s become difficult to get care or make appointments when needed. Pretty sad as this used to be a good organization. We are now looking elsewhere.
Hi Daniel,
We are sorry to hear you having issues making appointments. If you'd like, please reach out to our corporate patient relations department at 617-559-8440 or at [email protected] and they will be able to help.
Fantastic experience: This clinic is amazing and very easy to work with. Not only do I appreciate having Dr. Gonzalez as my Doctor, but I appreciate everyone from the nurses to the pharmacy. Everyone is professional, accessible, easy to speak with, and quick to respond in MyHealth when you have a question, need a refill, or need help with insurance approvals. When I was moving back East from the Midwest, I was not thrilled about finding a new Dr. and new clinic. I am so glad I did. I feel comfortable with the everyone there and know they have my best interest in mind when I am with them.
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at almost every hospital in the Boston area (Tufts, MG, Brigham and Women) but my experience at Atrius Health in Copley has exceeded all others. Let's start off with check-in where Leonard and the rest of the team gleefully greets each person, asks very basic safety questions, and then directs you to where you need to go. I see Dr. Muscanell (OBGYN) and Nurse Hannah (Primary) and both have treated me with such grace and kindness. They listened to all of my concerns and issues and set out a game plan I am comfortable with. Joyce at the Lab Station is gentle and caring. The whole team here, thankfully, are not one of the many who are completely burnt out in the healthcare industry. If they are, they still truly care for the patients and successfully hide it. I hope they continue to lead by example.
Positive experience: The doctor was great, but the lab staff is horrible. After seeing my doctor, I did a blood test in the on-site lab. The phlebotomist was careless and did not have adequate skills to perform her duty. She tilted the needle with an upward angle in my vein, instead of pushing it down, which caused great discomfort and pain. I just share two photos here, one on the same night, and the other after two days, to show how my body was hurt. I had taken blood tests many times, and never run into a situation like this.
Negative experience: patient for 20 years . Worst location and providers and customer services is bare minimum especially on the weekend. Dr.Shrinath is the worst
Positive experience: The ONLY reason this even gets 3 stars is because I have been a patient of Dr Monica Gomez’s for over a year and have absolutely loved her! Having said that, I have been in chronic pain for two years and it was brought to my attention I may have been exposed to Giardia. After speaking with the very kind nurses aid by phone today, they scheduled me an appointment to see Dr Shyla Shrinath. By far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Doctors office. Before I could even finish a sentence, Dr Shrinath cut me off MULTIPLE times and acted like I was some kind of burden that wasn’t worth her time. It was extremely distasteful and I couldn’t imagine being in that profession and treating people that way. I started crying the moment I walked out of the room. Please be advised, just because a patient has a hard time expressing pain and symptoms, doesn’t mean you should treat them like they’re dumb or it’s “all in their head”. I DO NOT recommend Dr Shrinath, but would recommend Dr Gomez to anyone that is looking for a comfortable experience.
Negative experience: I have had a good experience here with my primary care doctor. But the pharmacy is a mess. Very unhelpful when I needed to figure out a way to bring medication to Brazil and this month they messed up with a medication and didn’t realize until I started feeling symptoms come back. And then all I get is a sorry and being told I still have to pay again. I know this might not be entirely their fault and also insurance could be at fault but still just rally unhelpful.
Hi Maya,
We are sorry to hear this, and understand your frustration. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact our Corporate Patient Relations department at 617-559-8440, or email [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Been a patient for 25 years now, with various doctors, all excellent. My current PCP is Dr. Bordeaux, who I highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: This place is solid. Some great doctors. It’s a one stop shop: on-site pharmacy, on-site blood work, and a smartphone app that is user-friendly and actually does what it’s supposed to (eg reordering prescriptions, video appointments, communicating with your doctors). A friendly place as well.
Fantastic experience: Always had wonderful experience with Harvard Vanguard copley from the start to finish of my visit. Dr. Monica Gomez and her team are the best, very warm and professional with patients. The lab team and reception team are also great.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Bordeaux is the best doctor I've ever had. He listens, takes what I say seriously, and helps me get more information when needed. I feel so lucky to be his patient.
Negative experience: Do not see a therapist in the behavioral health department. You will be subject to patient abandonment and significant emotional manipulation if your therapist leaves the organization. Harvard Vanguard keeps therapists to unethical and extremely cruel non-competition agreements. Your therapist will not be able to say goodbye to you if they leave. If you try to work with them in their new employment setting, Harvard Vanguard will make them send you a heartless letter saying they will never speak to you again. They want you to think your therapist does not care about you so you will not want to work with them and instead continue therapy with Harvard Vanguard. If you do not fall for the letter and continue to try to work with your therapist, Harvard Vanguard will make them block you from messaging them and post that their practice is full. If that doesn’t work and you express you will wait for your therapist to contact you when they are no longer under contract, Harvard Vanguard will use their IT team to manipulate your therapist’s Google results to try to get you to contact them again, in what I would assume is a ploy to have your therapist send you another hurtful letter or something of the like. It’s mind boggling the lengths Harvard Vanguard will go to try to keep this operation under wraps. Harvard Vanguard has absolutely no regard for your mental well-being and I have truly never been treated worse by an organization.
Negative experience: They have the rudest and least helpful pharmacy staff out there.
Fantastic experience: The staff extremely well organized and professional - kind and considerate. Moving through the system there is very easy and I rarely wait more than ten minutes for an appointment. My pcp is very responsive, either through her staff or responding to me, herself. She is imaginative and resourceful and very knowledgeable, with warm, thoughtful bedside manner and gentle humor. Both my adult children also see her as their pcp so we have a family doctor, a rare privilege in modern medical practices. Dr. Ross and staff are very knowledgeable and supportive of patients who identify as trans and the GLBTQI - a safe sophisticated respectful practice.
Negative experience: Dr. Shrinath has terrible bedside manner and yells at her patients when asked simple questions. Looking at all the poor reviews on her makes me wonder why she’s still allowed to practice here? Learn to listen to your patients instead of making your own presumptions about what’s going on with a patient with no tangible data.
Negative experience: The kings of medical red tape. Impossible to get even a covid test without having to jump through hoops and do a barrel roll.
Negative experience: Kept redirecting me to different people asking for the same info multiple times and didn't even provide an appointment in the end. Made the process as inconvenient as possible.
Hi Samarth,
We are very sorry we failed to meet your expectations. Please contact our corporate patient relations department at [email protected] or 617-559-8440 so we can learn more and help you schedule an appointment.
Negative experience: This is the worst experience with a medical facility I’ve ever had. I signed up with a new doctor, as it is very close to my house. They couldn’t give me a check up for 3 months. I understand it’s a pandemic, so I waited. They then canceled the appointment day of, and ask me to do it online. I explained I’d like to meet Dr Moussa Pervane, since I was a new patient, and actually have her do a check up, not just a conversation online. They said they would call me back to reschedule. It’s been 2 months...I called again and followed up, and now won’t be able to see “My” doctor till May. The customer service agent, Aaron, also just hung up me, because I upset about no one contacting me for an appointment or my lab work that I paid for, and never heard the result for from 3 months ago. Plenty of good doctors in Boston! This place is terrible!!!!
Hi Ian,
We are very sorry to hear this and understand how frustrating it must be. We would like to discuss your experience with you. Please call our corporate patient relations department at 617-559-8440 or email [email protected].
Fantastic experience: I've been coming here regularly for 18 years. Always have had a good experience.
Negative experience: I called to ask about an appointment because I am a first time patient there and the woman hung up on me. Very rude, will not go there ever.
Fantastic experience: Great service. Dr. Karen Wood is amazing. The staff is very polite and helpful. They have great Pharmacy and Lab facilities too.
Fantastic experience: The staff are great the Drs are awesome so are the Nurses. It’s like a family mostly everyone there has been there since before they moved to this location. I have received care here for 17 years now and my children all go here. It’s good to go somewhere where they know your name and really care about you. Dr. Marshal & Dr. Richardson are great Doctors. Parking is affordable there are two garages and street parking if any spaces are available I get lucky a lot. It’s convenient to the T actually attached to Back Bay station just come up stairs from the orange line or hop off the busses. Nice walk in the south end if you like walking over to the mall great, it’s right a cross the street. It’s just convenient and pharmacy staff are super awesome than you have the lab techs which are great with adults and children.
Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff (Deby & her boss at check-in), all the pediatric staff & nurses & special shout out to Dr. Kline
Negative experience: Your doctor is never available and no one else is able to answer your questions. They have a nurse line(open specific hours), but the nurses simply don’t know medical answers. If you get sick or you need help the hours that the nurse line in not open, GOOD LUCK!! There is no doctor to speak with you at the building! Or this is what they claim of....!
Hi Maribloom, We are sorry to hear this. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to call patient relations at 617-559-8440.
Negative experience: Poor billing practices.
Fantastic experience: Great lab. Kalpana is wonderful and was incredibly gentle with my 3 year old son and was able to draw blood from his vein without any tears. He even said "that didn't hurt at all!"
Fantastic experience: Great wellness clinic. Friendly, courteous, and never had to wait long for any doctor or technician.
Fantastic experience: Great location, staff very helpful, over all perfect
Positive experience: this is a small contained hospital has a lab, pharmacy and few others departments, however, it lacks major specialty departments. if you're lucky you will be called back one you go for a visit or maybe they will call but at their own pace. if you are looking for a true experience or have something major pick Kenmore location, it is much better. This is for quick visits only.
Fantastic experience: Always a good experience with staff. Very helpful and timely.
Fantastic experience: The pharmacy staff is wonderful!
Positive experience: Great service, parking in separate building across the street, they do validate.
Fantastic experience: Clean and convenient. Next to Back Bay orange line station.
Fantastic experience: Very sweet doctor and staff!!:)
Positive experience: Convenient location and broad access to many other locations but the service is a bit cold/curt
Fantastic experience: Great people, great location, great pharmacy!
Fantastic experience: I have never had a doctor as caring and sensitive to my individual needs as Dr. Osborne. She is professional, thorough, and compassionate.
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend HVMA Copley highly enough. I have received excellent care in multiple disciplines over a period of years. My primary care physician, Elizabeth Ross is among the finest clinicians I have ever ever had the pleasure of knowing-and I have worked within the medical field both as a clinician and an administrator for over 25 years. She has taken the time to personally reassure me regarding test results, she has returned calls on weekends, she goes above and beyond consistently. The front desk staff at Copley are unfailingly courteous and professional-as are the medical office receptionists. I have nothing but positive feedback as my experiences have all been exemplary. Kudos to the Copley team-keep setting the bar high!
Negative experience: I'm honestly not sure why any of their doctors are practicing medicine because they seem to dislike their own patients so much. They don't call with your test results, when you ask for a referral they make the process impossible, they don't listen to your concerns or seem interested in helping you get or stay healthy. I did get great lecture on my age and if I ever wanted to have children I better do it soon (as though I didn't understand the concept of age and fertility). They need some lessons on patient care and basic customer service principles.
Negative experience: Worst experience ever. They have the meanest most unprofessional staff. I called before choosing my PCP and made sure I can get referral for a specific specialist. They told me they can! (big lie!!) but they need me to come visit with the PCP first. So I go ahead add that PCP to my insurance, register to be part of their (un efficient, unprofessional hospital) just to be told at the end of my visit that they would only refer me to drs in their hospital!! this was not a mystery to the hospital associate I talked with on the phone (unless she was completely incompetent with her responsibility to answer patients question). It is such a shame that great internal medicine drs work in such an unreliable untrustworthy hospital. I would change my primary dr to someone who would at least respect the patient by providing valid information for them when they ask specific questions.
Positive experience: This has been our family doctors office for the last 22 years... The care has been excellent . I have always gotten apointments within a reasonable time and most the same day . Honestly I can't understand why anyone would choose another system . Having all your doctors and pharmacy in the same system coordinating care is amazing. I've never felt like I have gotten less than the best care.
