Fantastic experience: My experience with Vitality Weight Loss Institute has been awesome! I have been fortunate enough to have been assigned nutritionists, Mrs. Bhuvanewari Saravanan, whom without her guidance and support I could not have lost 104 lbs in the 11 months since I started her program. My wife has been instrumental in preparing my food to ensure that I follow the program as Mrs. Saravanan had laid-out. The food has been great and I was never hungry during this program which is a testament to my nutrionist's knowledge. The weight loss has allowed me to take more control in all aspects of my life which is what I've been wanting to do for years. Mrs. Saravanan is courteous, professional, knowledgable, supportive, and most of all a very good and kind person! (I should note that this was all done WITHOUT any medication or any extreme exercise!...just some walking after my meals and/or regular chores)

Fantastic experience: I can't express how grateful I am to Vitality Weight Loss for helping me achieve such remarkable results. I began five months ago with severe foot pain due to osteoarthritis and couldn't walk for very long. My podiatrist recommended that I lose weight to help relieve the stress on my foot; otherwise, foot surgery was in my future. So, I contacted Vitality to get help with losing weight. In just five months, I've lost 70 pounds and gained a new lease on life. My foot pain has decreased dramatically. My energy levels have soared, and my blood pressure has dropped from borderline high to optimal levels. And surprisingly, with the nutrition plan that I am on, I never feel hungry and I really do not have any cravings. I would also like to mention that I am doing this without any weight loss medication! The staff at Vitality Weight Loss has been exceptional. From my nutritionist, Bhuvana, who has been my cheerleader and so amazing and supportive, to their mindset coach and physical trainer, every member of the team has played a crucial role in my success. Fantastic experience: This year I decided to put my health first and gain back control of my life. I got labs down and learned my A1C was at 14. I was devastated that I had let myself spiral so far out of control. I joined Vitality in April of 2024. I had been on ozecpic and not seen much progress my A1C was now at 10. After joining vitality I stopped with all injections and focused hard on my diet. I worked hard and to date I have lost 100lbs. My A1C is now at 5. The journey isn’t easy but if you show up and listen to what the team advises you can see results. My starting weight was around 299 lbs and I’m currently at 180. Thank you Vitality for the amazing team and for helping me become a better version of myself.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Vitality as a holistic weight loss tool to help me lose baby weight that's lingered far longer than it should. I really like having a dietician to talk with and that's probably been the most helpful part of this but I also enjoy talking to the therapist and mindset coach. I've had great success for these two months that I've been on the program and looking forward to reaching my goals.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this clinic based on the treatment I received. Throughout my experience, I encountered significant communication issues. Despite reaching out multiple times, my inquiries went unanswered for over 10 days, leaving me feeling neglected and frustrated. Additionally, there were concerns regarding billing practices, as money was withdrawn from my account without prior notice or explanation. It's worth noting that my insurance covered the majority of the services, and ultimately, I was refunded the amount charged to my account. However, the lack of communication and the overall handling of my concerns was disappointing. In summary, while my financial matters were eventually resolved, the lack of responsiveness and transparency makes it difficult for me to recommend this clinic to others.

Negative experience: My goal with this review is to protect future or current clients. I made mistakes and so did they. When I had my first appointment with them, I of course inquired about the cost. They told me, “Good news. Your insurance will pay 100% for these appointments except for this first appointment where we will need to collect a $25 copay”. Most normal people rely on medical professionals or those claiming to be medical professionals to verify coverage prior to my first visit. I don’t think that is an unreasonable expectation. Granted, I should have verified with my insurance that it was covered from the start, and I should have asked them what they were going to charge insurance. I had 6 appointments with them starting in early November 2023 and ending in early February 2024. Thank goodness I did not have more because my insurance denied the claims. Other times I have worked with a medical professional or group and my insurance was denied I have always been notified by the provider that I had a remaining balance that insurance wouldn’t cover, but not in this case. Vitality did not notify me that insurance was not covering these appointments and continued to see me. They never sent a bill. They were quiet and I believe that was dishonest on their part to not be forthcoming about the bill I was racking up. So, 11 months later (Friday Oct 18) I get an email that I owe them $1175 and that they would be charging $175 to my card on Monday Oct 21. Each appointment was $200 and that is the cash-pay discount price. I spoke to a personal trainer for 20-30 minutes on the phone for $200 and I believe I could have probably had 3-4 in-person personal training sessions at a gym for that price. I called vitality to try to work out a payment plan and you cannot speak to anyone in billing. They said they would put a note on my account for billing. What other medical group does not allow you to speak to billing? None. On Tuesday October 22 they charged my card for the entire $1175. Clearly, notes to billing didn’t prevent this and in these times what reasonable person expects to suddenly have this amount plunge their account into the negative. Before they charged my card, they contacted the bank and showed them the documents I signed stating that I am the party responsible for these visits so I had no recourse to remove this charge. I would have paid the $1175 but it would have been nice to work out a payment plan with them. It would have been nice to have been notified after my first visit or 2 that I had a remaining balance.

Negative experience: Do not go to this place. It’s not worth the stress The doctors and nutritionists are really good but the Billing department is trash. They keep charging me twice for one appointment. They will have you make multiple appointments with different specialists so you may not notice at first but they will over charge you. How am I suppose to lose weight and the billing department is stressing me out? You can’t speak to anyone that actually works in the billing department which is very convenient. There is no sense of urgency to resolve my issues. I tried to give them a chance after they corrected the issue the first time. But they keep doing it again and again. I urge you to not sign up for the services, the billing issues have nothing to do with insurance. They are taking advantage of people. They want to be trusted with keeping your card on file but violate that trust.

Negative experience: Received a bill in the mail for treatment and was never seen at this facility. Not sure if this is farad or what but NO ONE is answering the phone or returning my calls regarding this matter. I will be reporting this complaint to the BBB and I will file a complaint against the company since you are sending bills stating that I was seen and will file this to a collection agency if payment is not received in 5 days but yet you failed to call me back. Signed a very upset consumer, NOT A PATIENT.

Fantastic experience: I have had two appointments with providers at Vitality and both have been great experiences. They took the time to listen to my concerns and not pass judgement or be dismissive as I’ve experienced in the past with other providers. They seem to be open to any outreach I might have and are flexible with scheduling appointments around my work schedule.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would, I went here through a doctor's recommendation and they told me I wouldn't be charged besides my first introduction visit. That is not how things went. I paid them for that visit then after I had paid that they took over $1,000 out of my bank account without my knowledge a month after I stopped seeing them. Now I've been going back and forth with them because they keep trying to bill me all these different kind of amounts that are never consistent. I even had one provider never show for our session because she forgot and can hardly get a hold of them and when I do they take weeks to call me back about the issue I brought to their attention.

Negative experience: Vitality Weight Loss may be in network A but the doctor you speak to may be in network B which YOU didn’t know will cause you to be billed out of network. Also, you can’t actually speak to anyone from billing cause they don’t take calls. They have billed me twice for the same call because their doctor Shah changed address taking her out of network. My insurance is trying to rectify this but this has become a nightmare. Never, ever again. Wish I would NEVER have gotten referred to them. $275 x 2. Was told by Dr Morgan these visits behind her would not cost me, only her. NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE. Oh yeah, their customer service is terrible, don’t pick up, don’t call back, can’t help you. Say they’ll forward the information and then when you call back a week later, it’s like you never called week before. Very disappointed

Positive experience: Pretty decent experience virtual visits were short 25-30 minutes billing my insurance company 400-600 depending on who I was meeting for 30 mins or less calls did not sit right with me. That is my only complaint and the time frame of visits as someone who works from home it was not always feasible for me to have appointments during the day. Nina and Britney was amazing and really provided me hope I just took a different direction and needed more in person services instead of virtual. I feel if you have a little weight to lose not hundreds of lbs to lose like me they are great

Negative experience: Super long wait time to even check-in, let alone be seen. I went in to pick up a sleep medical device January 5, 2024. Appointment was at 4:00 pm, I got there 5 min early and there was nobody at the check-in desk. 20 min later a lady comes out to walk another patient back n says I'll be with you soon. She finally came out at 4:45 to give me the device and give me breief instructions. I just find that wait time ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I was initially a little apprehensive about my first appointment. After speaking with Morgan, I felt relieved and I am excited to begin my journey to better health. They made sure to look into my insurance ahead of time so I would know what to expect moving forward. Negative experience: You don't meet with Dr Shah, ever. You receive marketing emails "from her." All meetings and coaching are done virtually. The dietician, life coach, and counsleor were not helpful and seemed more annoyed to have another meeting. They billed my insurance more than $500 per appointment and when I cancelled participating with Vitality, I was suddenly responsible for a variety of charges. This is basically an extremely expensive version of WW that uses My Fitness Pal. Save yourself the money and just do WW.

Fantastic experience: I have been working with the vitality team for the last 2-ish months and have had such a wonderful experience with them so far. Negative experience: Billing and customer service team (maybe just one lady?) is not very good. Very hard to understand and not clear on why they charged me $200. After 2 weeks, they wanted to contact me at a later date. She then said that I needed to call my insurance (fine w/e) and when I asked for an itemized receipt, still nothing. Negative experience: I loved the idea of this weight loss clinic when I completed my initial Telehealth calls. They need to work on their communication and back office Administration. Dr. Joplin was fantastic in our call and I can not say that enough. The office admin needs ALOT of work. I needed to cancel my appointment that was preset. I called 2 days prior (per their policy) and had to leave a voicemail. I still received an automated reminder 1 day prior and I text back to the number and called again, to leave a voicemail. I physically spoke with someone the day of the appointment and explained at that point I have tried twice to cancel the appointment. He was very nice on the phone and stated it would be cancelled. I still received another reminder and then received a “no show” auto text! I have since received SEVERAL automated reminders to pay the $75 “no show” fee from that appointment that I handled correctly and they did not. I have sent emails to the company and the Dr and have been told that the fee would be removed and still to this day am still receiving reminders to pay the “outstanding balance”. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE COMMUNICATION AND PUNCTUALITY FROM THE OFFICE!!! UPDATE: IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR AND I AM STILL FIGHTING WITH THIS UNETHICAL BILLING DEPARTMENT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL REPRESENTATIVES, ALL OF WHICH STATE THEY SEE THE ERROR AND THEY STILL DO NOT REMOVE THE FAKE CHARGE. I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE BBB AND RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM THE DOCTOR IN CHARGE STATING IT WAS A “TRAINING ISSUE” AND THAT IT WOULD BE REMOVED.THIS WAS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND I AM STILL BEING CONTACTED DAILY TO PAY THE FRIVOLOUS CHARGE. IF I COULD MAKE THIS A ZERO OR NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. THESE DOCTORS SHOULD JUMP SHIP. BILLI NC DEPARTMENT IS GIVING THEM A TERRIBLE REPUTATION

Negative experience: Believe the other reviewers about hidden fees and poor business practices... I spent a significant amount going through the intake process on the phone. I followed up and completed my own insurance verification on the phone with my insurance company. Both of these calls ranged from about 20-30 minutes. I followed the exact script Vitality says to follow when verifying your own insurance. I filled out two sets of patient information as other reviewers have mentioned. I was very eager for my call. I got on the video call 5 minutes prior to my first virtual visit as they requested and a woman got on the call and asked me to pay $281 before I could meet with the physician's assistant. This charge was never communicated to me, despite my multiple interactions with me. Based on other reviews, I know how others feel because they told me that it is their policy that prospective patients need to contact them to ask if they need to pay, even though I followed their exact script and learned that my insurance paid 100% for all of the codes they instructed me to ask about. I am so disappointed because I really wanted to work with them, and I waited a month for this call. I don't like being pressured to spend money, and this was an odd way to collect from someone considering the amount of communication we had prior to the call.

Negative experience: Office, scheduling and billing seems to be done offshore. They say they are in-network but then submit a claim with non-billable codes. They make you keep a credit card on file and make you sign a form that says you bill be automatically billed for whatever insurance does not pay. If they are using non-billable codes the claim will of course be denied. I have yet to get ahold of someone to try and rectify this situation. When you try to reach out to billing you are unable to get ahold of someone. As a consumer I’m so disappointed that a company would take advantage of people in need. I did my due diligence prior to the appointment by making sure the provider was in network and checking how much my co-pay would be. They also charge $75 if you don’t cancel within 48 hours, however they don’t actually send you the paperwork until after that 48 hour mark. The paperwork contains documents that indicate no matter what insurance pays you will be billed if they don’t pay the full amount. As an insurance company employee, I can tell you that that is a very odd practice for an in network provider who values their contract with an insurance company. Most in network providers understand that they should be billing you according to what the explanation of benefits states. I will say the only positive was the physicians assistant seem to be OK. Other than that the situation has been terrible. As an update, after this review, I was contacted by a representative named James. They were able to submit a corrected claim. I still decided not to continue with the program because in general, I had concerns around the billing and administrative staff that is overseas. The medication prescribed is also not covered by insurance so I’d have to fully pay out-of-pocket for that.

Negative experience: Terrible, terrible customer service! One hand doesn't know what the other one is doing. Scheduled my appointment and kept getting calls about rescheduling. Then I call and was told there was no need and to keep current appointment. Some day of my appointment I'm told there's no record of my appointment. If you're this careless about the appointments, what can I expect from the service per se?

Positive experience: The doctor was nice enough so my issue was the cost. Ask for a Good Faith Estimate or you may be surprised by the bill you receive and they automatically debit it six months later.

Negative experience: Very pleased. 3 mos in and I’ve already lost 10% (25lbs). Great support and guidance UPDATE: The service providers are good; however, POORLY managed back office. I finished services w/ them well over a year ago then rec'd an email 17 mos later that they would be charging me $589 for a session in May of last year. I looked at my BCBS and ALL claims submitted by Vitality were quickly paid (last year), including claims for services in May. I reach out to them and was told they wouldn't charge my card until researched. Of course, they did and when i called back, I'm unable to reach anyone that can resolve their error. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed that I uploaded all of my information but they did not have it all at my first appointment. I then had to cover that information over with the intake person who was happy to take my copay only to not have it transferred to the next person and have to give it all over again. Secondly, I am inundated with emails and texts. I upload on a email but then get a text to provide the same information already uploaded. It seems like the two systems do not talk to one another. And all this made for a frustrating first experience. I am hopeful that the services your Office provide will be better. But I am unimpressed with your new patients process.

Fantastic experience: Vitality is an amazing program! I have lost almost 30 lbs within a year, which I never thought was possible. I lost most of my weight within the first 6-7 months of my program. Wendy, Angela, Jacy, and Morgan have all helped me immensely not just with losing weight, but with living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. They have helped me have a better mindset and kept me accountable with my goals. I am confident that I can keep the weight off with all of the tools they have given me. Wendy has helped me find stress management techniques and taught me how to take every thought captive. Instead of always reaching for food when stressed, I now deal with my emotions and find other ways to de-stress. Our mind is where weight loss begins! If you believe you can’t do it, then you won’t.
