I’ve been lucky to be a patient at their practice since 2017 and I could not recommend any other surgeon for bariatric surgery. They actually care about their patients. They’re thorough. And they are very involved and attentive.

Fantastic experience: Dr Stowers and his team were amazing. I do not remember anything after the first dose to relax me. Which for me was great since I had a lot of anxiety rite before my surgery. I was reassured by the staff that everything would be good and it was. I was up and walking shortly after and that made a huge difference. I would highly recommend Dr. Stowers and his team for this procedure to anyone looking to do it. My only regret is that I didn't find Dr. Stowers sooner... 10 out of 10! I'm 50 pounds lighter and still dropping them I now take ZERO meds and my health has improved tremendously! I owe this man and his team my life literally!!

Fantastic experience: Over all experience is a 10 out of 10. Wonderful and competent staff, I was able to make an appointment right away. Everything was explained to me in great detail from the start of the process to the end, and all of my questions were answered honestly and thoughtfully. Dr. Stowers is an excellent and knowlegeable physician with years of experience in the weight loss surgical field . I am thrilled to have my revision surgery done with him and his staff! If you are unsure or would like more information for your own personal journey I cannot recommend a better place to start than the bariactric experts!

I had gastric sleeve surgery with them a week ago and I feel great, I've already lost 20 pounds. Dr. Chu from anesthesia was also wonderful, nothing to fear.

Positive experience: I just started the process, but so far they have made it fun and easy. I feel it wouldn’t quite be fair yet to give them five stars just because they’re still so much more to do in the process.

Fantastic experience: Had my first visit with Dr Stowers and staff. They were all so welcoming and friendly. They shared lots of info and told me to call if I needed anything else answered. I have now had surgery, and it’s been such a blessing. The staff is always nice and quick for answers.

Negative experience: Firstly, I want to say that Dr. Stowers is nice, and so is his front office staff. Unfortunately, nice staff isn’t the most important thing - policies, procedures and knowledge are even more important. This office charges a $700 package for things covered by insurance... and then they still bill your insurance. This is unethical practice at best and potentially insurance fraud. Even if you have a copay, you will be paying well under $700 for the superfluous things they are double charging you for. Making this $700 package mandatory in order to be a patient is a disgusting and shady policy. I have reported them to my insurance company so they can conduct an investigation. This is insurance fraud! I was approved for surgery, and my insurance was covering everything at 100% no copays - nothing. Because I didn't want to pay 700 dollars for something my insurance will be paying them for, they canceled my surgery. Additionally, it is very suspicious that they have no bad reviews on here, which likely means they are paying google to remove them. Do your research. According to the BBB, this doctors office had many complaints, one of which was wrongful death. Buyer Beware. Update: In response to the owners response, I have 3 points to make: 1. This "comprehensive package" does nothing but charge you for items that you are already paying for and are covered by insurance(and will still be billed to your insurance). They clearly don't expect many consumers to ask the real questions or push back because they predicate their willingness to accept you as a patient on this package and insinuate that if you have a problem with this shady practice, you wouldn't be dedicated enough to losing weight. 2. Their statement that they did not cancel my surgery is erroneous. They told me that they I MUST purchase the package prior to surgery. AND that they would not make any exceptions. So we remain at an impasse. They will not operate if I don't purchase a package that they want to then bill my insurance for piece-meal and keep the money (double-dipping). And I won't engage with that. I'm honestly surprised that they don't run into this problem more often. 3. This package is not industry standard. Call any other bariatric surgeon in dfw, and they will all tell you that this package is an attempt to double dip and increase profits. And that all the items that they are including in this package are typically included in the price of surgery. To lose 10s of thousands of dollars over 700 dollars doesn't seem sustainable, lol. Update #2: I was approved at DFW Bariatrics! LOVE THEM, SO KNOWLEDGEABLE! Upon getting my health records transferred, I found out their "nutritionist" isn't an actual nutritionist and that they aren't billing that conversation as a nutritionist visit! They actually didn't even submit for final approval to the insurance company for bariatric surgery, likely meaning that they weren't going to bill my insurance for bariatric surgery! This means that if I had any complications, my insurance may not have covered medical care after the fact (regarding bariatric surgery) and could have come back and retroactively denied coverage for the initial surgery. Be careful, yall!

Fantastic experience: Very easy to work with! They helped set everything up, including insurance. The surgeon explained everything to me and really listened to me. They gave me lots of great info for pre and post surgery. The surgery went very smoothly and I was very well taken care of at the hospital that they work with. I am now 7 weeks post op and have already lost 35 pounds! Very grateful for this tool!

As of this posting (2/27/24) I have only been for my initial consultation, but the staff and Dr. Stowers were so professional and accommodating. They answered all of my questions and put me at ease about something that's very nerve wracking to me.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to share my story. It's a long one. I went in for surgery on 12/27/22. I woke up to several doctors apologizing to me and saying Dr. Stowers would be in shortly to explain. He told me he couldn't perform the surgery bc I had a numerous masses all over the outside of my stomach. I panicked. I was upset, I thought everything had gone well. I became very agitated due to fear. Dr. Stowers was a light in this darkness. He explained that he made sure to gather several biopsies to send off for testing, but he couldnt promise me much. Those biopsies were found inconclusive and had to be sent off to another lab. Several scary weeks went by and I couldn't help but think the worst. They were tumors, but they ended up being non-cancerous Dr. Stowers didn't have to do anything for me. He didn't have to collect biopsies, he didn't have to follow up with me, he didnt have to find a solution. He and Donna didn't have to be so kindhearted. They are absolute angels. I was scheduled for surgery again on 2/8 and he was able to give me my sleeve and remove the tumors while doing it. This entire experience has been a lifesaver in so many ways. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I've never been healthier. I just can't say enough about Dr. Stowers and his entire team. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️.

Fantastic experience: I had a procedure called SADI-S with Dr. Perry. From day one, he clarified all my questions; his team is excellent, especially Ellea, she is a wonderful human being. On the day of the surgery, I left as if I hadn't done anything, I walked out on my own without future problems. In 3 months, I lost nearly 50 lbs, something that makes me very happy. Dr. Perry is great.
