Experiencia fantástica: I have been on perimenopause for several months and was suffering terribly from all the symptoms: night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, etc. The hot flashes were especially bad because it prevented me from having a good night sleep and made extremely irritable. Being on pre-menopause and menopause, can be very emotional for a lot of women, it certainly was the case for me, and suffering from all these symptoms can make the whole processes even harder. When I first noticed my symptoms I started the treatment with a gynecologist specialized in perimenopause and menopause. I was prescribed synthetic hormones, which worked well for few weeks, but then the symptoms came back. The doctor increased the dosage and the symptoms got better just to return a short time later. Since I couldn’t feel better and the symptoms were not going away, I started to read more about perimenopause and learnt that a lot of foods contribute to make the symptoms worse. A friend of mine, who is also a nutritionist referred me to Marcela. My initial intention was just to consult with her about nutrition during this period. However, after the first consultation it was clear that Marcela could do much for me. She started treating me with a combination of Chinese herbs, acupuncture and natural supplements. I decided, during the very first consultation to get rid of the synthetic hormones as at that point I was already feeling uncomfortable to take a medication that was doing nothing for me. I am just few months into the treatment but all my symptoms have completely disappeared, my energy is back and my mood is back to normal. I wish that people can become more aware (I wasn’t until recently) of the benefits of alternative treatments and how incredibly it can be. It has been a blessing to have found Marcela during this phase in my life and I wish that everyone going thru this could benefit of this type of treatment and care.
