Negative experience: Edited response: changed from 5 stars to 3 stars to 2 stars. The concerns listed below still have not been addressed. Sports Village Fitness IS still a great place to work out. I’ve been working out there for over five years, but the lack of maintenance of the stair steppers and the rowing machines upstairs and in the 'green room' has gone overlooked for far too long. The stair steppers work but there isn’t anywhere you could put you water bottles. The cup holders have been broken for years. The foot straps on rowing machines loosen mid workout and must be retightened over and over while the machine is in use causing a disruption in your workout flow. IF these machines are repaired, and maintained on a consistent basis, it would personally improve my overall workout/customer experience at Sports Village Fitness. IF/WHEN these thing are fixed I will change my rating.

Negative experience: Equipments are old, they break almost every week and it takes forever to get fixed. Renovation and new equipment is a must for this gym. We are in 2025, equipments are like 20 years old

Negative experience: Very disappointed in them firing my trainer! I won’t go back there ever again! Mandy was very rude when I went into her office to ask about a folder. She stated to me that since I joined online through my work I was not eligible for the folder! It was a freaking folder! But then a couple of weeks later I was given a folder. Of course I didn’t use any coupons or anything in it. I will continue to use my trainers services elsewhere. Wherever she goes I will join her. I am so glad she is my trainer, I have gained so much from Jordan! She has helped me with achieving my goals! Continue being great Jordan! Do better Sports Village Fitness. Customer service goes a long way in this world

Positive experience: 3 star because it’s okay. What is unacceptable is the fact that their parking lot is a lot is small. And not well thought out. 3x now I’ve gone and left because I have such a tight window I can workout, with working 3rd shift, part time in the morning and having 3 kids (1 is a newborn) it’s tough to find “easier” times to workout. When I do I go and there parking lot is full with multiple cars circling the lot for the next available spot. With the amount of money one spends, I could go to Planet fitness, and save more money. Honestly it’s what I might do. No hate on the facility itself, but it’s a little ridiculous.

Negative experience: Called to get membership pricing and the guy at the front desk said “He didn’t know and that everyone has different fees”, I then asked him why that and he then said “I don’t know, but if I called back tomorrow, someone else could answer my questions”. So I guess it’s safe to say that customer service was absolutely rude and clueless and I will not getting a membership here. At least at Planet Fitness, I can get a straight answer about membership pricing.

Fantastic experience: I just joined last month and I LOVE this gym! The classes are great with a ton of options. The facility is nice and clean... the staff is helpful and the instructors are amazing! I highly recommend!

Sunny Patel 1 year ago

Positive experience: The gym itself is great, but I’ve noticed recently, a few of the staff members refuse to respond when I greet them. They’re too busy on their phone to respond with a hello. There’s been multiple times I say “hello how are you?” and they can’t even be bothered to look up. I got better customer service at the gas station when I left. I’m tired of people who think they’re too good to acknowledge anyone.

Negative experience: They allow radical beliefs. They’re a non- Christian business. They’re too liberal for Lebanon Tn. They need to go to a blue state!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Sports Village Fitness since 2019 and I can confidently say that it is the finest gym I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. The top-notch equipment, immaculate facility, and luxurious steam room all contribute to the exceptional quality of this establishment. The staff is truly exceptional, providing unparalleled service and support. In particular, I have had the privilege of attending yoga classes led by Leigh Ann and Courtney since the beginning of 2024. Their expertise and dedication have had a profound impact on my well-being, enhancing my overall quality of life. It is worth noting that these exceptional yoga classes are included in the membership package, making Sports Village Fitness a truly outstanding value. I cannot recommend Sports Village Fitness highly enough. It is a haven for fitness enthusiasts and wellness seekers alike. Love, love, love this gym!

Negative experience: For some reason, this facility sends your account to an attorney for collection when you thought your membership was cancelled. First contact is from an attorney. How awful

Fantastic experience: After my retirement in 2023, I started attending one of the classes, Seniors Stronger Together, at Sports Village. I have been attending SVF for about eight months. Working out was a new concept for me, and one that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Judy Aberg is an excellent instructor and is committed to helping us becoming stronger. She uses the latest research to customize the exercises to meet our needs. The class focuses on building strength, balance, endurance and flexibility. Judy keeps us on track, and at the same time, makes the activity fun and challenging. Judy is an excellent instructor with a wonderful personality. The staff at Sports Village are the best. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is interested in improving their health and fitness.

Fantastic experience: SVF is truly committed to all levels of family fitness and has so many classes and options for kids and adults! They care about keeping up with current fitness trends and equipment, and their employees are so customer focused and their trainers are top notch and professional. I have been so blessed to be able to follow my fitness passion and I'm truly grateful to be part of the Sports Village Family!!

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out! Lots of opportunities in the way of classes and times. They really offer a plethora of different styles of classes, like spin, yoga (chair yoga, too), HIIT, and a bunch more, as well as family pools (indoor & outdoor), pickleball courts, sauna, free weights & weight machines (and plenty of them), a lot of cardio machines (and different types), various workout rooms… I really can’t name all the amenities, as there are really too many to list. Check out their website! They also offer a little more attention type personal training, and small classes, too, if you are really not into the large class atmosphere. Seniors are included in their offering too, dedicated to 50 and over. I’ve had a great experience here, and encourage others to get started to improve their health and well being! This is the place to be, because of their diverse offering! There’s a ton of opportunities to get into the right atmosphere that suits your needs, to get you comfortable being there, which is what you want.

Negative experience: Good gym but the owner is difficult and always looking to make a buck. You’ll be his next best friend if you let him talk you into paying for personal fitness classes (they make a lot of money on this up charge). Extra points (and attention) if you’re female. If you’re a dude, try to show up in the evening when he’s gone so you can lift weight and not have him in your face about making too much noise clanging the weights (which happened to me when I went in the morning one time - apparently I offended the Zumba class participants). Overall, only worth the money (3x-4x higher than Planet Fitness) if you absolutely need to use free weights or you love taking their expensive fitness classes.

Sports Village Fitness
Sports Village Fitness

We try to make Sports VIllage a place for everyone to be comfortable and have a good experience during their workout. The loud slamming of weights is very distracting and damaging to the equipment and facility. We understand dropping weights on accident but slamming them down is not neccessary and he was trying to help you. We are a locally owned business and we strive very hard to keep a nice facility at a affordable price with all the awesome ammenities. We have over 60 free classes included with your memebrship and personal training is an extra charge because you are one on one with a certified Personal Trainer.

Fantastic experience: I’ve enjoyed my time at SVF but what I have really enjoyed is Emily Grace’s Lift and Lean class on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!! It is a huge reason why I enjoy SVF! I would highly encourage EVERYONE to try this class. It’s adaptable for every age and gender unlike some of the other SVF classes. I hope to see more from Emily Grace in the coming months. Thankful for the SVF community! If you’re considering joining, I highly suggest it!

Negative experience: I wanted to like this gym, I really did. But the hours, especially the daycare hours are so bad and completely inconvenient for me, that I hope they let me cancel my contract. I'm a single mom and the daycare is only open until 7pm. If you get off work at 5:30pm with traffic, there is almost no time to work out, and thats only Monday through Thursday. The daycare isn't open after noon on Friday or Saturdays, and its not open at all on Sundays. I guess this gym is for SAHM with husbands. I don't know why I signed up - guess I wasn't thinking.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great people. I love this gym so much! The classes are my favorite & the staff is very friendly. The trainers are wonderful here! They are all always helpful & make me feel welcomed. Jesse’s classes always push me to my limits! He never gives up on me & the others in his classes/training sessions. I am so happy I have joined this gym, I would recommend this place to all of my family & friends!

Fantastic experience: They were very accommodating! I was traveling for work and needed to get a workout in while traveling. The space is super clean and well designed. Plenty of “functional”, CrossFit, and traditional body building equipment. A whole floor for cardio plus all the extras i didn’t have time to check out like a pool. Def recommended, will stop by again.

Arthur Maxwell 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Nice friendly staff. Everyone that works out there is nice and helpful if you have a question. No judgment everyone is there to workout!

J 3 years ago

Positive experience: They need to be open till 10pm atleast everyday. I think they can afford it. Or midnight. They open at 430am every weekday, so why close so early? The place basically runs itself it seems. Cleaning guy cleans after hours. Gym is packed in afternoons often. Extend the hours. A gym closing at 6pm on weekends...What are we talking about here?

Gabriel Gracia 3 years ago

Positive experience: Gym is great and staff just two ongoing issue I have one is is my schedule, the only free time I have are usually late in the day and they literally be almost closing 3/4 time i want to go and two , well it not a really "business problem"' it not case of gym anxiety got over that in Arizona. It well I feel I'm beening watch and I get a occasional glare. And unwelcome behavior. Staff are super friendly though

Negative experience: I was really excited and overall I like the facility but they are getting one star rating because of a single member of their staff named Janet. I was in the indoor pool and was going to take her water fitness class but I was kinda on the outskirts so if I couldn't do it I could leave fast and she started talking about how the pool was going to close for the class which is fine, but I was trying to tell her that I was there to try out the class and instead she kept talking about the pool closing for the class, basically making me feel like I wouldn't be welcome and my fitness journey has been a struggle as it is because I feel fat already so her making me feel like I wasn't welcome to be there for her class was not appreciated nor did I feel it was appropriate.

Fantastic experience: I was terrified about leaving planet fitness because I was so comfortable there but I got bored and I lost interest in my fitness journey. Few months later I hated how I felt so I tried again same thing I was getting bored. The first time I stepped into Sports village felt overwhelming, like I didn’t belong but as I began my tour I fell in love. They have so much to offer!! And the price super affordable and definitely worth it. I have never been so motivated about staying active and I’m writing this review a month later. The staff AMAZING!! The classes are great! The equipment intimidating but I’m learning, but they have everything planet fitness has that I’m familiar with but they offer way more variety! Very spacious which I love! I’ve been doing some training sessions with Kristen Stevens and I’ve loved it! She’s awesome! She answers my questions, she corrects my form, and she’s extremely easy to get along with. Even the people who work out the gym have been so nice. I found my home, I’m very happy and I haven’t gotten bored once.

Positive experience: So far, our experience has been pretty good. It does seem a bit pricey, but I suppose it depends on how much you utilize the facility. We used to belong to a YMCA and had to pay for classes offered, but at Sports Village, the classes that my wife likes to go to are included. With the classes, the results have been mixed. My wife likes some classes and instructors better than others. Much of their equipment does seem dated and some of it seems like it was pieced together as some of the other reviews would state, but this doesn't bother me as much. The equipment all works which is the main thing to me. They offer the childcare services certain hours of the day as well as an area for older kids to hang out or activities for older kids after school. My son has gone there a few times and enjoyed it and we've enjoyed the outdoor pool. We haven't really had any issues so I can't speak for management like other user reviews have but I have met a trainer, Andy, and liked working with him. My wife has worked with Andy as a personal trainer and several instructors in her classes and I think we both agree that the staff here is pleasant to deal with. Could some of the machines and weights be updated? Probably, but a 50lb weight is a 50lb weight to me. All in all, we enjoy going here and the hours of operation are reasonable.

Negative experience: Awful, outdated facility. The trainers are nice, but unfortunately the management creates an environment where members harass people and staff does not put consumers first. Sports Village refused to correct dangerous issues with equipment & uneven floors. They acknowledged injury & risks but refused to address. In 2016, We submitted several comment cards and voiced our concerns about dangerous equipment not bolted to the ground and the integrity of the gym floor in the free weight training area. The floor is structurally unsound, uneven and in desperate need of repair and poses a serious risk of injury for anyone lifting weights. I had multiple in person and phone conversations and emails from September 24, 2016 to October 4, 2016 where we expressed concerns and inquired about fixing the dangerous floor. The manager, Jan Rubins, acknowledged the risk of injury but refused to fix the issue. While he did order new equipment, (Rogue Power Rack) it was placed on the same uneven, wooden floor and posed and even greater safety issue as it was not secured to the floor or walls. Several other gym members expressed concerns about the safety of this, but Mr. Rubins again refused to take action. My husband and I both developed hip impingements after 8 months of continual use on this floor, so we had no choice but to discontinue our membership. We were harassed and intimidated by members and management. I was completely shocked at the utter lack of customer service and awful business practices. I would like others to be aware of the unethical, rude business practices of the current management. It is completely unacceptable to deny gym members safe equipment and updated facilities.

Kelsie L 8 years ago

Negative experience: After a month and a half of membership, we notified the staff that we would like to cancel, as we did not enjoy our experience at Sports Village and would not/did not visit again. The staff "froze" our account and now insists on billing us for an entire year, plus an account "freeze" (a *grand* total of $1004.80 for 49 days). The manager saw nothing wrong with this. She decided it is fair to charge us that absurd amount for a place that we visited 15ish times and notified them that we would not be returning, displaying the classic "you signed the contract" attitude. However, the manager did at least give us a free entry level lecture on business overhead costs when asked if she really thought that was the right thing to do. If you've ever received a speeding ticket for going 36mph in a 35mph zone, you know how we feel. Technically speeding? Yes. Reasonable/fair/realistic/customer oriented? No. Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish.

Positive experience: Good gym, a lot of amenities. Showers in a clean locker room, indoor and a nice outdoor pool, tennis courts, hot tub, sauna, steam room. Weight machines and free weights downstairs, cardio upstairs with some outdated, worn out leftover weight machines. Everything seems to have been pieced together over the years with random equipment. Trainers are apparently excellent, as well as classes. Unfortunately, a nice racquetball court has been repurposed to a yoga room. I'm a member and enjoy it thoroughly.
