Experiencia fantástica: My fiance and I wanted to try something new prior to our wedding, so we took advantage of the introductory offer. We were paired with Yana, who was outstanding! She was so kind and patient with us. My fiance does not enjoy dancing and was a bit nervous before our first lesson, but we had a lot of fun and really appreciated the one-on-one guidance from Yana. We hope to be back soon!

Experiencia fantástica: My fiancé and I took father/daughter and mother/son dance lessons here. We did two 40 minutes lessons back to back and time flew by. I wasn’t sure what to expect but we had a ton of fun. Our instructors Natalie and Sodo were phenomenal. They went at our pace, taught us a few styles of dance, and then worked on applying some of that to the songs we had picked up. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for lessons for a wedding dance!

Experiencia negativa: Fred Astaire is simply for profit, this studio/franchise does not have the students best in mind. We were told that if we bought a package, and were able to “move on” (because we had learned what we needed) to a different level than our lessons could be rolled over however that was never possible. Even after expressing to our teacher that we wanted to learn more and move on, we were still made to go over the same thing in two more lessons, while simultaneously being told by every teacher that we were fast learners. Our teacher said that she “can’t teach us more than she thinks we’re capable of”. this statement is so problematic, and insulting. So we were held back because of her thoughts? Simply, you don’t know what someone is capable of if you don’t let them try. Even if they say “you can roll the lessons over!” they will do everything to wait it out and just keep you waisting your time and money doing the same thing. Dance should be fun and challenging. We aren’t here to compete (and if we did it would be years in the future), we’re here to learn for fun as a hobby. If you’re looking for a teacher, there are so much better teachers around Milwaukee who have been teaching for decades, who will teach you as much as you want to learn / fast as you want, and teach you everything you need to know to work on technique. Lastly, there were things that were just not communicated to us. We were told we had to do level passing, and we were doing everything we could to move on so we did it, however we were told after we didn’t HAVE to, to move on? When told about it we were told you do two dances with your partner. Which is not accurate, you do two dances selected FOR you and with a teacher. When addressing these things, Natalie also said “if we were taught too much too quickly we wouldn’t retain it anyway” however we’ve since learned around 3/4x the amount of things we learned here and have retained all of it. Strange that she thought she would know how much we could retain. We also wanted help with technique and literally had to ask for it over and over. Why wasn't feedback given? There are kind ways to give constructive feedback and we asked for it many times. It seemed a lot of "good job! yay!" was being given and we observed this with other students as well. This studio is problematic at best.

Experiencia fantástica: My fiance and I began dance lessons for our wedding at Fred Astaire. We have found the lessons to be exciting, professional and a great activity for our date nights. The staff at FA are welcoming, friendly and energetic. We'll be continuing with the dances, social parties and hopefully, competitions.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been a student at the Milwaukee studio for 10 years now and have enjoyed lessons, parties, balls and competitions. I can honestly say that the last 10 years have been among the most fun of my life-- thanks to the wonderful professional teachers at FADS!

Experiencia fantástica: My last 2 years at Fred Astaire have been a dream! I started dancing kind of as a joke. I was traveling to Brazil for my friends wedding and thought I'd learn to Samba in a couple months to prepare. What I found was an energetic and supportive community of like-minded individuals. Positive, supportive, and understanding. And that's just the other students. The instructors are even better. You will not regret your time here. You will feel uncomfortable but you will get past it and on the other side is an unparalleled sense of confidence. And you'll look great doing it!

Experiencia fantástica: Ever since January '20, I have gone to Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Milwaukee. What I like best about going is the fact that I not only dance (exercise) but also interact with the staff. The staff is fun to work with and they keep you focused on whatever dance or routine you are doing. I would recommend going to Fred Astaire because learning the dances and routines will keep you fit and get to interact with staff that enjoy what they do and wants you to have as much fun as they do.

Experiencia fantástica: Dancing at Fred Astaire of Milwaukee is more than dancing. It's like a wonderful party every time I walk through the door. Wonderful teachers and staff. Amazing fellow students who have become dear friends. And invigorating learning that is good for brain and body, all while smiling from ear to ear throughout each lesson. I walk out tired but very, very happy!

Experiencia fantástica: 4 stars for studio overall- a good and sustainable business model, just didn't like the frequent pitches and suggested sales. All staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of extra activities to help build a community at the studio. Always clean and have spaces to change clothes. 5 stars for the dance instructors. Both Jade and Brandon were professional, personable, patient, and fun :D. My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to take 9 lessons from them through a package and a certificate we had. Lessons started promptly and they listened to what we had asked to learn. The last lesson we were able to alter a little bit to help us be independent of the instructors (much appreciated btw!). We'll be taking a break for a while but will probably be back soon. Overall, highly recommend if you like to dance or want to learn!

Experiencia fantástica: If I could share the most important experience, although there are and have been many that have come from FADS Milwaukee, is that I couldn't have chosen more qualified and wonderful teachers/instructors and staff to help make come true my passion for dance. Everyone shares a passion and dedication for dance and they pass their gift and talent down to each and every student. You can't help but feel the Joy and enthusiasm when you walk in the studio. At FADS Milwaukee I have met so many wonderful people, all who have and are accomplishing so much having come to this studio.

Experiencia fantástica: Me and my husband came to learn one dance and 7 years later we are still dancing. Ballroom dancing is truly an art. Our instructors make learning the art of ballroom dancing fun and fulfilling. Dancing has given us so many wonderful memories. And the is staff is the best .

The instructions are not only very pleasant to talk with, but they are the best dancers in the US! It is my honest pleasure to be part of this "family"

Experiencia fantástica: After two years of lessons I must say I see my self continuing for years to come. The staff is the best in the nation (and has the awards to prove it). They are patient and will work as a team to ensure that concepts, patterns and choreography is understood. They have enabled me and my wife to compete nationally against other amateurs. They have trained others to compete on the professional level. But the most important thing is that they keep it fun so you keep coming back for the challenge.

Experiencia fantástica: Received lessons as a Christmas gift from my husband for the 2 of us. One of the best choices he has made. This studio and it's teachers have opened a new world to us and we are loving it. Reasons for others to try? Fun, exercise, learning new things, health and weight loss, taking on a new challenge (physical and mental), dance parties, to just name a few. This has opened us to making so many new friends and each party is like going on a date again. The teachers are so fantastic, welcoming, caring and they adjust for how each of us learns. Try it out and once you can get past the inevitable nerves you'll enjoy.
