Experiencia negativa: Absolutely awful experience! I was completely upfront with this physicians office about my insurance and being on cobra due to a career change. All of the office staff that I had spoke to assured me that the billing was not going to be a problem as long as I can provide proof of paying my monthly premiums for cobra. I absolutely did this. After billing me for everything that they absolutely could. (including cash for dietitians visit, psychologist visit, etc.) a couple days before my procedure they told me they would not do the procedure unless I was willing to come up with $11,000 to have the procedure done. Mind you this is during my clear liquid diet… I begged and pleaded spoke to my insurance company a dozen times.(they assured me the procedure would be covered.) the doctors office refused to move forward without CASH… I had scheduled a cruise based on my surgery date and recovery time. They wasted several weeks of my time and was not the least bit compassionate about it. I requested my records be sent to Arch Bariatrics so that I could move on from this horrific experience. When the office staff sent my records to Arch Bariatrics , they told Arch bariatrics office that my insurance was not going to cover this procedure… (completely inappropriate and unprofessional) THEY WERE WRONG!!! Very rude and callous staff. I contacted Arch Bariatrics and gave them all of my information and they submitted it to the insurance with no problems. I was seen and had my procedure in a timely fashion with no problems or issues.

She was amazing and it was an overall awesome experience I’m so glad I chose the medication and she helped me through working hard to reach my goals. Even through the months I slowed down lol ! Experiencia negativa: I had a very poor experience with the staff here. There was limited communication. I had to call multiple times to get needed information. Everyone seemed like they were in a hurry and didn't want to speak with me. I wish I could say I was being a Karen, because then at least the treatment would feel justified haha. I switched to the program at Mercy and have had a great experience since.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr.Snow did my sleeve surgery in December. His staff is very kind and professional. They helped me tremendously with the process. I haven’t had any complications at all after surgery. Olivia his nutritionist is wonderful to work with as well.

Surgery was a breeze. I experienced minimal pain, actually minor soreness. I did not need the pain meds sent home with me. Best words of advice, follow the instructions, start eating clean before surgery and use the recommended products. Dr Snow is an expert in his field!!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Snow and his staff are amazing, as is the staff at Mercy Jefferson. Very attentive and informative. I actually paid out of pocket in January. Found out my insurance started covering this year, called the office and they were overly helpful in refunding my money and scheduling my 6 months of required nutrition visits. Started nutrition classes in Feb. and had surgery 8/16/21. I couldn't have asked for better service!

Experiencia negativa: I set up a consultation, I was told I needed to meet with a nutritionist first. Fine, I did that and had a couple meetings that I paid out of pocket. I provided all my information up front with a long and detailed packet. When I finally got my consultation Dr Snow basically said I am too large for the procedures that he does. I thought the whole point was to help me lose weight? The nutritional meetings that I paid for out of pocket where short and less than 10 min conversations with no real info provided to me. I basically told her what I was eating in each convo. If I was not an ideal candidate why did he agree to even see me after reviewing the detailed informational packet that I filled out. Today I got a bill in the mail for the consultation that left me in tears feeling hopeless. I DO NOT RECOMMEND if you have more than 100 lbs to lose. He is more interested in easy success stories. He turned me away and charged me and my insurance for the conversation.

Experiencia fantástica: I had gastric sleeve surgery on Dec. 30, 2021 with Dr. Snow and I would highly recommend him. I was originally seeing another Dr but due to COVID they shut their surgeries down. I had already met my deductible and so I called around and the staff at STL Bariatrics got me in and all my paperwork done so I could have the surgery by year end. I am 7 months post op and have lost 61 pounds.

Experiencia negativa: Please reconsider this office! This post has nothing to do with Dr Jay Snow personally, but perhaps he needs to be aware of his office staff! I had a in person appt on 6/29 at 1115 am.. I began showing Covid symptoms on 6/28 and called first thing on 6/29 to inform office. I was told they had no openings for June for virtual appts. But the nurse practitioner can see me in person but can’t call me at the same time as my in person appt? I have since been tested twice for Covid and have been sick for a wk. No one has reached out after I submitted a letter from my dr that I was to quarantine per CDC guide lines. The response I received when calling to cancel my appt and keep Dr.Jay’s staff safe from possible Covid was well you will have to restart your dietary appts. PS: I’m a nurse and had both vaccines in Jan. I will be finding another Dr. There has to be flexibility and NONE was shown!

I am an employee at Washington university so I had a consult there first, personal opinion I wasn’t really impressed with their consultation. I decided to reach out to dr snows office. Doctor Snow is a great physician with funny bedside manner talks to you like you are human like a member of the family or a funny college friend you still hang with.. The only things I miss are my Pepsi and drinking while I eat. I was told I'd lose 60 lbs. I said that wasn't enough so I'd have to do more & I did by walking 3+ miles every day & have maintained approx. 80 lbs for 1.5 years & counting. I felt like I'd been trapped inside a fat suit that I just couldn't find the zipper to get out. Now, I'm the person I knew was in there all along. I just wish I hadn't waited so long.

Experiencia fantástica: I first meet Dr Snow at a seminar in March of 2019. It was meant to be because I was doing some research on Bariatrics surgery and found a seminar that same night. The seminar was at a hotel right across the street from my work. I signed up on- line and went. It was very informative and I decided to find out if my insurance company would pay for the surgery. It turned out they would pay for the majority of it and I had to have a 6 month supervised diet. The office staff is wonderful and helped me through every step I needed to get this surgery. I did the 6 months supervised diet and Olivia helped me through it step by step. She said I was above average because I lost weight every month and I should have no problem with the insurance company approval. I admit the 7 day pre-op diet is no picnic but I was off my diabetic medicine in 3 days. When I woke up from surgery I had no pain at all. I accredit this to the experience of Dr Snow. During the surgery he fixed a large hiatal hernia. I was out and about shopping two days after surgery to get my steps in. I have been mobile and pain free ever since surgery. I could have gone back to work the following Monday but I decided to give it a week. Dr. Snow is a great doctor and has your best interest at heart. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

By the time I was in my late 50s I realized my weight wasn't getting any easier to manage and to be frank it had gotten out of control. I was complaining about it all when friend recommended Dr. Snow and weight loss surgery. Long story - short. Dr. Snow and his staff are wonderful to work with, treat you with kindness and respect and prepare you in every way to understand what to expect and how easy and hard this lifestyle change will be. No doubt you can go anywhere if you're deciding if weight loss surgery is for you. I'll just say this - you can't though find a better doctor in Dr. Snow (who knows his stuff like none other), a better bariatric dietitian than with Olivia (helping you reestablish a relationship with food) or the wonderful office staff who make you feel like a person instead of just another number who happens to come through the door. If Festus isn't close to you then make the drive. It's totally worth it - it was for me. 60lbs lighter and I now have a way to keep it off - now that's priceless...

Experiencia negativa: Before you consider bariatric surgery please read up on the risks. I was a self pay and per Dr snow and his team any complications would be included and covered by Dr Snow. That was not the case for me. I have had 6 previous surgeries with no issues and I had a gastric sleeve done 11/18. 1 week post op I had major complications which resulted in me almost dying from blood clots 40in of my small bowel removed and 1 month in ICU. Dr snow performed my bowel resection too and told my family he would take care of the expenses and now I’m faced with a $300,000 bill and a lifetime of medical issues. He is a personable dr but don’t be fooled. Until he follows through with his word on paying my bill this review will stay up. Do not do weight loss surgery unless your life depends on it. Almost lost my life because of the surgery. It’s not worth it.

I worked in the medical industry so I do not select ANY kind of doctor/nurse/office, etc. without research and there's a reason I picked Dr. Snow (I heard he's the best) and he truly is. So informative, helpful, flawless surgery with ZERO complications. I've lost 85lbs within my first 7 months post-op. He's tough on you, takes no excuses, and pushes you to do better and I appreciate that sort of tough love and accountability.
