Christmas pretty much was ruined as I was unable to walk and didnt sleep more than about an hour a day. I teach Martial Arts and Fitness so not being able to move and in constant pain massively impacted my business. I started sessions with Dan and in 3 weeks I have already had a huge improvement. The pain is gone and I'm pretty much back to about 95%. I am going to continue seeing Dan even well after I'm back to full health as I see the benefit of the service he provides. On first visit, he examines, Xrays, evaluates then the treatment. He lets u experience first what treatment u will get b4 he writes down summary report and the costs. I just wanted to go once or twice to gauge if it would be helpful. He only offered me the very large and expensive plan of $5,000 bucks roughly and said he wouldn't allow the one off visits.

I sought his help for a persistent lower back issue that had been troubling me daily for over a months. The constant pain made simple tasks like getting out of bed, bending, sitting​, picking up my grandbaby and working out extremely difficult. I was frustrated so I went to see an Orthopedic Doctor first and he recommended stretches and physical therapy​-which I was already doing every day at home. The stretches and physical therapy help- but ​only temporarily. The Orthopedic Dr​. said he could do a ​surgical spinal decompression which "might" help. I decided to do some research and googled spinal decompression. NO WAY! I was not about to go that route!​ The same search led me to Dr. Dan Russell, a local chiropractor in Pleasanton known for non-invasive spinal decompression. Based on my positive past experiences with chiropractic care, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. ​The office is very nice, spacious, clean and centrally located with ample parking. Dr. Dan's excellent bedside manner was apparent when he took an x-ray, promptly showing me my back issues without the need for a second appointment. He suggested starting spinal decompression and other treatments immediately. Remarkably, within three weeks, I experienced significant improvements; my persistent lower back pain has almost disappeared. Now, halfway through my treatments, I'm excited to be on the path to recovery. Being free from constant pain is an immense relief, and I'm thankful to have found Dr. Dan. Making appointments with Reyna, his assistant, is effortless—she's always welcoming, kind, and ​​always smiling. I'm looking forward to continuing routine adjustments to keep my spine healthy. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Dan has made significant progress in my mobility and has decreased my nerve pain utilizing decompression on my neck. I used to have severe pain in my arm and fingertips and now the pain is gone. I was told by doctors to not see a chiropractor and do cortisone shots in back with high gabapentin medication to help mask the pain. Since I have decided to try an alternative to give decompression a chance, it has relieved the pressure off of my C5 and C6 disks. I notice my posture improving with weekly adjustments. I am hopeful that I will limit my permanent disability and get back to doing outdoor sports again that I enjoy that involves canoing, hiking, biking and gold digging. By the time I came to Dr. Dan I could not function. Every movement hurt. Even walking had become painful. 3 sessions with the doctor (9 days) and I had regained 90% of my movement. Instead he started by saying let's see what we can do to ensure you can do those activities for a long time. That is huge for someone who loves being active. Onsite X-rays are huge when other chiropractors make you go somewhere else for that diagnostic work. Highly recommended.

He then created a plan which included chiropractic adjustments and decompression for my condition. Unfortunately I had to move out of the area before the treatment was completed, however his plan put me on the road to recovery. The back locking up had been happening to me a couple of times in the past as well. The latest one coming as a result of moving things into my new home after our move to Pleasanton. So I did go in with some uncertainty about how my new chiropractor would be. Dr. Dan immediately put that uncertainty away on my first visit itself. He diagnosed my condition and also explained to me why it was a recurring issue and what it would take to address it. He suggested a long term treatment and offered to a package to pre-pay where I could reduce the overall cost of treatment. Its been almost 3 months into the program and my back has been feeling a lot better, and my body has also improved on its range of motion, following the exercises suggested by Dr.Dan. Experiencia fantástica: I was going to a chiropractor for 6 years in San Ramon but did not experience much improvement. After going to Russel Chiropractic I saw improvement in 3 months! After our initial consultation, I was immediately impressed by the fact that he was able to clearly articulate the issues I had without getting into confusing technical jargon. It was the first time I had been to a consultation where I could visually see and understand why I was in constant pain. The initial recommendation was pretty aggressive, but I decided to make the investment because I felt he knew what he was talking about and was not just trying to sell me a service. I'm happy to report that just after 3 months there has been improvement in my X-rays and also overall improvement in my quality of life. Space has been added back to the compressed discs in my spine and my hyperextended pelvis ( which also caused constant pain) saw strong improvement with it's alignment. The only thing I did not see improvement in was my hip alignment. I'll have to continue doing treatment over the next few months to see if that helps with that portion as well. Overall, I have a lot less pain than before and things are steadily getting to a healthier place. If I had one constructive thing to say, it would be that the billing can be a bit cumbersome if you're not paying straight cash. Whereas some offices have assistants or receptionists at the desk available to help with insurance, customer check ins, etc., the expectation with this office is that you pay cash or that you handle the insurance information yourself (he is a one man show and has no receptionist). But other than that I think Dr. Dan offers a very good service and seems to genuinely care about getting people better and not just taking their money. I can appreciate that he has been able to back up his words with results which is ultimately what you'll want any investment. If you live in the Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon Area, I'd definitely recommend you check him out!

Experiencia fantástica: Quick Summary: Dr. Dan is great! He saved my life! I had a silly back injury - the kind where you bend over to pick up an empty dog bowl and things go crunch. This was one of many back problems I have had in my life as my genetics weren't great to start with. I was hurting for months and thought this would be the rest of my life. I saw an Orthopedic doctor and they said I had a lot of arthritis and possibly disc damage in my lower back which there was nothing that could be done other than stretching and taking pills. Month after month there was no improvement. It left me up all night in pain and made walking or even getting out of my car painful. I missed many days of work at my office where I sit for a majority of the day. I thought this was the start to a downward spiral where I can't travel or exercise or even sleep. Through a roundabout referral while on a trip to SC, I got in touch with Dr. Dan and started to see results. Within the first two weeks, I could sit in my car with no problems and by the middle of month two, could sleep and was able to walk 4-5 miles a day with little to no pain. By month three I can lift some weights. I still can't run/jog and yoga hurts a tad, I have to be thoughtful when bending down but I have great faith even that will get better.

He uses a combination of decompression/stabilization machines, electro-stim and hands-on work. In 4 sessions with him the results have been solid and remarkable. The nerve pain has been relieved and I am working out again. AND these unexpected additional benefits: My my low back and hips have loosened up on both sides. My running is more fluid -- and faster. My upper back was super tight from computer work for like the last decade or more. And my posture wasn't great. I've been working out extraneously and my knees started feeling like they are about to fall off. I couldn't really pint point to the issue and kept saying I need to get them checked. I met Dr. Dan at my gym and from our brief conversation he wasn't sure either but told me to come in for evaluation. Long story short, my lower back is all messed up causing issues with my knees. One day I complained to him about my knee, an issue that been bothering me since around 1998. He was able to correct the issue in 2 weeks and I haven't had knee pain since!

Experiencia fantástica: I've had a lifetime of back issues and throughout the years I've had hundreds of adjustments from tens of chiropractors. I currently will see any one of several doctors for maintenance depending on their availability, and they are all very good. It's been a while since I've seriously injured myself to the point of immobility, excruciating pain, and sleepless nights, but yesterday afternoon my luck ran out. I am a group fitness instructor, so I'm no stranger to discomfort and bodily fatigue that I can most always push through. This was different. The pain I had was severe. A constant deep burning that radiated from my spine, up my neck, over my shoulders, and down my arms. If I moved slightly, sharp pains would shoot in all directions. The pain made me almost sick to my stomach. This morning I had to cancel on my class for the first time in recent history. I was devastated. I put out a post on Facebook apologizing for my absence, positively stating that I hoped to be back next week (but knowing that whatever was going on would surely put me out for much longer.) Dr. Dan Russel has been a friend of mine for years, but we live about 30 minutes apart so he hasn't been my regular chiropractor. He saw that I was hurt and reached out to me asking if it was my back. I told him it was, but being that it was a Saturday I didn't want to inconvenience him. He insisted that I come see him and I went running. It's funny, even with all my chiropractic care throughout the years, I doubted that an adjustment could actually help the debilitating pain that I was in... but I was desperate. When Dr. Dan adjusted me, EVERYTHING moved... the relief was immediate. I was in disbelief. Now, I'm still sore, and don't feel like I could go teach a group fitness class tomorrow, but I would say that this evening I'm 70% better. When I first came in in 2013, I was in a great deal of pain. He took the X-Rays, then adjusted me -- instant relief! Since then he fixed my Yoga Noodle Incident, twisted hip (from pushing a 300 lbs dude 5 ft up the tree... don't ask), and numerous results of my adventures, from regular 15-hour international flights, to 20-hour coding marathons, to weekend warrior exploits. In short, Dr. Dan keeps me running, biking, bending and playing my 2 daughters like I'm 10 years younger and half my weight.
