Dare I say that they might even be better than the chiropractor I used for 20 years in central Iowa. It has been life changing for my neck and back pain. I have had a lot of pain for many years in my lower back, and my upper back and ribs, and been to many doctors and chiros, but he is the first one that actually helps me. He always listens and asks questions about what you are going through. I don't ever feel like he's rushing through. He's patient with my anxiety. His questions make me feel like he's actually trying to figure things out, unlike most of the doctors I go to that just type in the computer the whole time I'm talking. He actually listens. The staff there is really nice too. (Brittany and Joanne) With Dr Benson's knowledge and experience, it feels like you are going to a big city doctor with a small town atmosphere. I highly recommend. Especially if you have "mystery" conditions like me.

Experiencia fantástica: On October 15th my husband had a syncope episode that scared everyone who knows him. Since that day we had been to neurologists and cardiologists. Medication after Medication and several expensive test including mri, stress test and calcium test and on and on and on with no solid answers as to why the syncope and the constant headaches. He was tired all the time never smiled and basically struggled just to get through the day for work. He wasn't able to attend family functions or even have a social life due to the issues. June 24th that all changed due to Dr Benson. We left that first visit feeling like a weight had been lifted from our shoulders. Dr Benson explained that due to his Vagus nerve haven had damage or injury at some point is what had been causing all of the issues. My husband had his first *treatment * on June 26th and all I can sat is WOW!!! My husband is back. No more headaches he is smiling and his color is back. People he works with even saw the difference in him in the next day. When you see the word Miracle on the building there is no lie. Dr Benson and his staff have been amazing. They have given me my husband back for sure. There are not even words to express our gratitude to them. Just wish we had done this 9 months and $10,000 sooner.

Experiencia negativa: Basically a scam. They wanted $400 for them doing heat readings and X-ray. No adjustments or anything. Then the following appointments are over $100. If you are going to ask for my insurance information and tell me that my insurance is accepted, you should let your customers know that it’s going to be out of pocket before proceeding. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to spend randomly. I’ve NEVER had to pay out of pocket with other providers so I’ll be going elsewhere. Horrible horrible business. My appointment was also at 12:30 and I wasn’t even taken back until after 1. If I could leave a 0 star I really would and cheers to a new collection!

Experiencia negativa: First visit he ran up my insurance with 400 in exrays, I actually had on a CD from previous doctors for spinal arthritis, but he said he had to do his own. He gave me no adjustment and guess what my insurance did not cover him though do other chiropractors, and he told me about his bad marraige i did not want to know about; and now have a huge bill. I would say avoid this guy

Experiencia fantástica: I’m not sure I even have the words to express my gratitude for for the Spinal Institute and the role it is playing in my life right now. In the months leading up to my first visit, I was dealing with the sudden onset of many different neurological symptoms that came on after the birth of my 4th child. I had extreme fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision with floaters and after images, tinnitus, fullness in the head/ears, shortness of breath, anxiety, panic attacks, internal vibrations, heart arrhythmia, numbness or a burning sensation in various areas of my body, extreme brain fog, a derealization feeling, a general feeling of disconnection between my body and my brain, and more. I felt scared and hopeless at the sudden downturn in my health. I was afraid to be home alone with my 4 children. I worried I may have MS or some other type of autoimmune disease. I was given the advice to seek out an orthospinologist and The Spinal Institute was the closest one that came up in searches with someone who I felt qualified to consider the issues I was facing. The Spinal Institute is 2 hrs away from where I live. I decided to give it a try and see if Dr. Benson thought he could help me and then had hopes that he could recommend someone closer. The first time we drove up to the building a sign on the window stuck out to me. It said “Expect Miracles”. This honestly was what I needed to hear to give me hope again. At the initial appointment my anxiety was so high, I barely thought I’d make it through without passing out. Dr. Benson did a very thorough initial examination with different tests, x-rays, and a thermography scan, and though I was super anxious, I could tell he was trying to help me feel more relaxed, which helped. My second appointment, Dr. Benson came in before hours to adjust me because his schedule was full and I didn’t want to have to wait another week to get adjusted. At every visit since, Dr. Benson has gone above and beyond to address every concern and question I’ve had. He is very knowledgable and uses a variety of techniques to address a wide range of issues. Even more meaningful than that, Dr. Benson really seems to care. At one of my visits he explained to me the science behind the importance of smiling and how it releases healing hormones. Each visit as I go to use his bathroom, I see a sign that says “Keep smiling” and it reminds me of this each time. These are the things that set him apart from other care givers, in my opinion. Over the time I’ve been going there, I’ve seen a decent reduction in my issues and though I am not fully back to normal, I feel much more normal than I did 6 months ago when my issues all started. I can’t express adequately enough my appreciation for that. I have hope that I will continue to improve as well, as I continue in this journey longer. I’m also reminded of this by another piece of wall decor that Dr. Benson has that says “Healing takes time”. We’ve chosen to continue to drive the 2 hours each way because of the improvements we are seeing and how easy it is to communicate with Dr. Benson and the rest of his staff. Each trip feels more like visiting friends than a doctors appointment. If you’re suffering from any ailment, I highly recommend the Spinal Institute and Dr. Benson. I’ve learned a lot about upper cervical care and believe it can improve a whole myriad of issues. Get your head checked, and get well. =)

Experiencia fantástica: I have been receiving upper cervical care since February of 2017 after suffering constant headaches resulting from a car accident in high school which left the curve in my neck going the wrong direction, Prior to treatment by Dr. Benson I would find get temporary relief from standard chiropractic treatments, but after having upper cervical care, the curve in my neck is now corrected and I went from seeing him weekly to now monthly for maintenance checks, and I have never felt better. Dr. Benson, Jenna and Britney at spinal institute are fantastic, they are all friendly. I have never met a chiropractor more down to earth, personable, and truly the best at what he does!
