Experiencia fantástica: We bought our first beef October of 2024. We picked it up in December of 2024 and split it with a friend. The process was so easy and the beef was excellent. We used Los Molinos butcher. We actually waited a few weeks in order to use them, based off of google reviews of the various butchers in the area. It is now July of 2025, and we will be ordering a full cow this time. I’ve referred multiple people in our area. They have all been very happy with their experience. It’s totally worth the 16 hour round trip drive.

Experiencia fantástica: Travis, I thought I would touch base with you to let you know about the beef I got. It weighed in at 725 pounds initially, and it weighed about 430 pounds all cut up. That includes the organ meet. So far we have tried the ribeye, cattleman's cut, and top sirloin. All the cuts were all good and tasty. Of course the ribeye were very tender. The hamburgers are among the best we have ever had. I could eat them all day long. Thanks to you and your family for supplying us with such a wonderful animal.

Experiencia fantástica: This was our first time in purchasing bulk grass-fed beef. I did a lot of research and Travis and his team at TX Bar kept showing up with high marks. Their website is full of great information and the whole process could be easily handled over the website. I had some dumb questions and contacted Travis and he explained the entire process very simply and gracefully. We went with the whole beef and selected Los Molinos Meat for the butcher. Travis let us know when the "harvest date" was and then Tara at Los Molinos Meats contacted us to go through the cut list. Again, since it was our first time we didn't really know the options and she explained them step by step. I picked up the cut and wrapped beef yesterday and everything went very smoothly. We set out a package of filets for last nights dinner and I grilled them with just a bit of salt and pepper so we could get the taste of the beef. It was EXCELLENT! Can't wait to get into some of the other cuts but I am confident they will be the same. The picture is of our 17cuft freezer and doesn't show 120lbs of ground beef that we put in another freezer (took another shelf and a half). Most fear grass fed and finished beef is extremely “gamey” not the case. My only complaint is I only ordered a Half Cow. I will be placing another order this time a full cow. Experiencia fantástica: This was my first experience buying beef off the hoof. I was so afraid I would mess it up. Fortunately I found TXBAR, their advertisement is fantastic, it explains so much. Even better than the advertisement, Travis. Travis went out of his way to make it easy as possible for me. He even offered to call if I preferred. That means a lot to some of us older ones. Everything went just as Travis said it would go. He kept me informed of every step. I thank the butcher for her patience. She was helpful in explaining the different types of cuts to me. When we inventoried and put our beef away, I noticed I didn’t have the Cross Cut Shanks. The reason I didn’t have them , I told the butcher I didn’t want them. EVEN SO, Travis told me that I was more than welcome to them. He told me he would make it worth the return trip. One of the youngsters loaded the box into my vehicle. I didn’t see what was in the box, until I returned home. Not only did he give me the C C Shanks, he gave me a BOX FULL of meat. He didn’t have to do that. Travis is a great guy. A honest man. A man of his word. It just keep getting better. The meat is DELICIOUS. I’ve told all my friends. Believe me you will tell all of yours, once you taste, this beef. And the crazy part is cuts like ribeye and filet mignon go for around $20-$40 per pound at regularly grocery store! Compared to TX around $8-9 a pound with the harvest !

My wife's birthday was on Sunday and I whipped out the sous vide and made some fillet mignon -- the perfect meal for a special occasion. I bought an upright freezer (13.8 cubic feet) and it just fit the half beef. That was one big animal! I'm going to be doing some organizing soon so we can find everything. I'm looking forward to trying a bunch of cuts that I've never had before.

But after working with you and A&R I can say that there’s no reason to buy beef any other way. The quality is amazing! Best beef flavor I’ve ever had. The expectations were set from the beginning and nothing fell short. The people at A&R were awesome and did an amazing job packaging and labeling my order. There is a learning curve with cook times and temps but I have some great tools to make that easier. I cooked the rib roast for NY Day and it came out perfect! The meat is more filling than store bought so it’s leftovers again tonight! Not complaining. I didn't think I would ever find grass-fed beef that was as good as his, and then I came across TX Bar. Wow! Their beef is delicious, and it's raised right here in Northern California. They work with a butcher, so all you have to do is order your beef (half or whole) and tell the butcher what cuts you like. After the beef is dry-aged, it's vacuum-sealed and labeled--ready for your freezer. Travis, the owner, is very responsive and is happy to answer questions. The butcher is happy to walk you through your choices and talk about how to fill out your cut sheet. No need to be nervous if you're a "city kid" like me. Since grocery store meat prices are skyrocketing (and who knows how those cattle were raised), it's reassuring to know that I have a quality supply of excellent grass-fed beef. Thanks, TX Bar!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent experience - I highly recommend ordering a full or half cow from Travis and his team. From start to finish, Travis was super responsive on email and the process was so easy. I had the meat in about a month for a half cow portion, which is so much faster than other farms I've purchased from. Their butcher was spot-on as well. Los Molinos Meats walked me through the cut list, asking preference questions along the way. I was intimidated by having to provide a cut list, but they guide you through it pretty quickly on the phone. Pick up took less than 10 minutes (after the 2 hr drive lol). If you're on the fence, go for it! The prices are completely reasonable and the meat is so tender and just damn tasty!

The burger is very lean and delicious, the stew meat is great, the filets are melt in your mouth amazing, the rib eyes are a little bit tougher than I thought they would be but they have excellent flavor. A&R butcher shop did a great job, pickup was super easy and the butcher shop was immaculate. Travis kept in touch and kept us updated through the whole time. We’re looking forward to trying everything else too! My Daughter is coming out from Colorado Springs and we’re going to do a brisket (our first one) in the Bradley smoker for 6 hours and finish it in the traeger for 11 hours, can’t wait! Experiencia fantástica: We ordered a 1/2 of a cow, and the process was very simple. A staff person walked me through the ordering process. We decided to get more stew meat than ground beef, because the meat was so tasty in stews. It took me longer to finish our 1/2, more like 18 months. But I had a tri-tip roast left, and thawed it Saturday. After marinading for a few hours, I grilled it and made the absolute tastiest, most tender roast I have ever grilled. Sided with sauteed brussel sprouts and home fries -- so scrumptious that even my picky kids ate every crumb . And, so much healthier than eating out, and certainly more memorable in these homebound times. Very pleased -- you will be too!

I did a split five ways, careful about splitting I was supposed to get the juicy split and I think I screwed myself tough to split up a half a cow 5 ways.. But the meat is great and service too. Travis is very customer service oriented. We will re order but won't be splitting 5 ways .

Experiencia fantástica: I recently received my first 1/2 beef from TX Bar Grassfed Cattle Company. After a 4 hour drive with 5 coolers and some dry ice, the beef was just as frozen as when I picked it up at Los Molinos Meats. The whole process was smooth, although I did have to do a little thinking about the cuts of meat that I wanted vs. hamburger. Most importantly, the taste of the beef is excellent and the vacuum packaging robust. I expect that my beef will last 2 years in my freezer, but I doubt that it will last that long. Travis was very helpful and responsive in helping me with my order. Tara at Los Molinos Meats did an excellent job on the cutting of the meat and was friendly and provided useful information. Individual packages of meat were nicely labeled with the weight of the package included. I look forward to my next order.

The meat, the butcher, the whole process is just so easy and convenient. Experiencia fantástica: So this was my first ever purchase of a side of beef. I was nervous about it, as it's big purchase for one person (I'm single so I was purchasing the meat with the intention of it being the only meat I'd need to purchase for the next year, maybe longer). What's great about Travis' company is that you can purchase half the cow, with him matching you with someone else who wants half a cow. This made it possible for me to even consider something like this, as I couldn't have afforded the whole thing. As the other reviewers have stated, Travis is very accessible. After our initial conversation, before I had even put my deposit down, he was available via text (my preferred communication method) and would respond very quickly to all my questions. Once I put my deposit down for my 1/2 beef, he kept me in the loop as he finalized the other person who would buy the other half of my cow. He had me matched quickly (which I know isn't necessarily within his control, as someone else has to contact him with interest in half a cow), but none the less, it was quick. Once that was finalized, the harvest date was set, and everything else worked like clockwork. All dates were met, and I had my half of beef ready for me at the butchers when he said I would. The meat: Incredible. Truly, delicious meat. You can buy grass fed and grain finished beef at other places, but it doesn't compare to 100% grass fed meat like this. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Travis was very helpful through the entire process, and whenever I had trouble, as I did when trying to figure out how to fill in my 'cut sheet', he helped me understand what I was looking at and what I needed to do. Now that it's all said and done, I've got a freezer full of 100% grass fed beef in my garage that will last me an entire year (probably longer) that was well priced and who's quality is incomparable. Like the other reviewers, I'd highly recommend you go with Travis if you're looking to purchase a side of beef. I don't have any experience with any other cattle operations to compare his to, but I have no need to go looking elsewhere after this experience.
