Experiencia negativa: Horrible bedside manner and unprofessional. I’ve been treated for my disorder for 6 years and tried switching to him because I moved away from my RA. Had recently went to the hospital with cardiac issues of stroke level bp. During my first visit with him he spent about 2 min in the room with me then ordered a bunch of labs and X-rays. Told me to return in 2 weeks after he could get my medical records and lab results. When I arrived for my follow up. They did not check my BP because the cuff was broken even tho I had recently had major issues with my BP and a history of a heart attack. He came in and told me everything is normal. I looked at him in disbelief and pain. I told him that isn’t accurate and asked about my medical history. That’s when he informed me that he hasn’t received my records. I said well what am I doing here and what are we discussing. What was the point of this meeting he told me that my X-rays were also normal which is a flat out lie. My L5 has been messed up and I have nerve impingement with loss of feeling in both legs. I had recently had an X-ray by another MD. So, I questioned him about that. He told me that he didn’t need to review my X-rays with me and if I wanted to seek treatment I should go back to my previous dr if I didn’t like his service. Completely rude and a waste of time. My whole family is medical and administrative. In my 39 years of life this was the worst patient care I have ever received and completely unprofessional. He clearly has an ego problem and only wants to pump patients in and out not really paying attention to detail or spending time with patients. It’s clearly all about billables to him. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING TO SEE THIS DR. HE DOES NOT DO HIS DILIGENCE!

He hasn’t even seen the patient and he already created a visit summary on my chart epic program like pretending he saw the patient and that’s illegal; concerning he will be billing phone visit vs virtual visit . We will talk to our attorneys and insurance company

Made an appointment and was able to get seen fairly quickly, the office was nice and his nurse was great. He answered any and all questions I had and now we’re working together to get my ailment under control. Highly recommend if you’re in need of a rheumatologist.

Experiencia positiva: My husband sees Dr. Alikhan. Dr. Alikhan is very nice and professional but this medical practice really needs some structure or technological upgrade to ensure proper quality of care. My husband had a blood test a month ago and we never heard back about the results. I called like 10 times a day for the past 3 days and on average was on hold for 30-min and nobody picks up. Finally got through this morning, nurse (who is very nice) said the office called my husband and left a voicemail but we never got a call nor a voicemail. Nurse also had almost no clue about my husband's condition - "his blood report seems fine. Why are you calling?". When I asked about whether he needs to adjust dosage since his blood is normal, again, no idea even though the visit was a month ago. This office also has no electronic medical system so the only way we'll find out about the blood results is wait for a mailed copy. We feel very disappointed about the continuity of care provided in this practice. Unfortunately we will have to choose another practice and doctor. It's a shame because Dr. Alikhan and his team are kind and nice.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had appointments on several occasions, and couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Alikhan and his staff. The first time, he saw me on very short notice, quickly diagnosed and treated a problem that was of great concern to me. I feel confident in recommending him as a very competent rheumatologist.

Experiencia fantástica: the doctor saw me on short notice, had reviewed blood work and prescribed a protocol that allowed my flight to Jordan two days later to be possible. In fact had complete relief for the first time in 6 weeks from debilitating pain in shoulders and knees. His demeanor, attentiveness and responsiveness were all positive and affirming. Am returning this week for follow-up to deal with the nagging remnants of joint pain. I am not one to often consult physicians but doctors like M. Alikhan and Martin White at the Sunset Medical Center are excellent and reason enough to have an established doctor patient relationship upon which one can rely.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was supposed to have her second dose of the prolia infusion and Dr Alikhan refused to treat her because he said she had Medicaid and he doesn’t accept Medicaid. My mom did not have Medicaid in Texas and we had cancelled her Medicaid in California. He made us wait 4 months without giving her the shot and without even telling us that she should not wait and to look for another place to get it. This doctor is unethical and does not care about the well being of his patients. He refused treatment to a patient which is against the law. If you care about your wellbeing or the wellbeing of your loved ones do not go to him

Experiencia negativa: The staff is great at this office --nurse, assistants...but this time it is the doctor who falls short by far. He does not fully examine the symptoms of patients ie full joint exam as has been done for the many years I have had SLE. Additionally, he ignores symptoms when a patient is in severe pain assuming they are made up and telling her as much because tests from weeks ago are fine (ignoring the mild rash on her cheeks she never has as well). I have no reason to make up joint pain when I'd rather be at my golf club golfing! Even though my appointment sheet said my joint pain level was an 8 he started the appointment squeezing my hand so it hurt?!! Oh and he lectured me about when to fill medication as if that would help anything. This guy-- the one who doesn't fill the Meds he says he will fill. My husband, a physician, was sitting there when he said he would fill plaquenil. And there I am after a weekend of horrible joint pain still without it after he said he was filling it? He's quite the unethical physician I will not see again.
