I took the Butter Chicken and Naan class last night with Chef Jacob Valentine and he was awesome. 6-8pm was enough time to learn a whole lot about Indian cooking. Butter Chicken is a bit of work but worth every delicious bite. and the Naan! topped w/melted butter & garlic was pure heaven....and will get me back into making yeast breads of all kinds again. One suggestion...do some prep before the class starts so you can keep up. The Chef was very helpful to us all.

They take refused food and turn it into great prepared meals for the people of Portland. I would highly recommend helping out for a fun time and uplifting experience

Hands on experience and even as an experienced cook I learned a couple tips definitely recommend trying this out for date night, fun night, anytime fun experience!

We were singing along to the tunes, laughing out loud after each “wow” moment, and having fun as we went through the cooking process. Kudos to the folks who run, support, and volunteer for this wonderful organization. Much thanks to Chef Jacob and Holly for facilitating such an awesome night. Will do this again in a heartbeat!

Experiencia fantástica: An awesome evening! We came as a work group. Perfect for team building and a great time. Chef Jacob guided us through prepping a great pasta meal with humor, songs, and learning valuable new skills. Anyone with any skill level will be able to join in on making the food a huge success. I will be back with friends and family. I highly recommend this experience for everyone. And we helped others to follow their dreams of attending cooking school. It doesn't get any better than that.

We learned how to make some delightful pasta from scratch, meatballs, sauce, and an amazing karaoke sing along throughout the whole process! Chef Jacob was great and charismatic, which was similar to a prior feed the mass event I attended with him. All around great experience for a great cause, would highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: The spicy Indian curry wasn’t the only thing that was hot in this cooking class. If you googled best looking Chef, you would see a photo of Chef Jacob. If I were you I would bring a ring with you to the next cooking class so you can propose and lock that down. He’s also super fun loving, has awesome jokes, and is a great instructor. The recipes he teaches are so simple that I will make use them to meal prep. With every bite I plan on daydreaming about what our life would’ve been like together on our dream farm. Experiencia fantástica: Had a fun night making some dim sum. Nice kitchen, friendly chef, great price and so much food. Was able to pick up a beer downstairs at whole foods and bring it to class. Overall one of the more enjoyable cooking classes I have done. And super cheap.

Did the thai pumpkin curry class with chef Alec and it was so good! chef Jacob was also there and there with so much great information. We bought 5 classes and are looking forward to take the rest of our classes! Your pitches for classes can help fund Classes people who can’t afford them, really bringing to life their motto of empowering people through food. Experiencia fantástica: So much fun! I did this cooking class with a friend but will soon be doing it for date night. The chefs are so fun and patient with people who are new to cooking and they share the recipes so you can make it again later. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: We took the dessert class here - creme brûlée, pots de crème and chocolate croissants. Our instructor, Jacob, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very patient and helped fix our mistakes. The class is a great activity for large groups also! They accommodated 10 of us.

Experiencia fantástica: My team did a Mediterranean cooking class with Chef Jacob and it was a blast! We learned how less is more when it comes to cooking simple, delicious dishes. It was a great team building exercise to self-organize around the different jobs (chopping, kneading, grilling, etc.) and come together as a team to create an amazing meal. We asked tons of questions about ingredients and techniques and it is clear Chef Jacob is knowledgable and highly passionate about his work. Wonderful experience!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I took a tamale class for our date night. It was the most amazing experience. We worked with another couple to create picco de gillo, and our tamales. When we finished making them, we got to take them home and then enjoy some tamales that’s had been being cooked the whole time we were there. It was so fun to get to take the food home, as well as enjoy it in the moment. There are so many options for food classes both adult and child and I want to sign up for all of them! Super affordable for what you are being offered!

The skills and techniques I've learned are invaluable, and to be able to learn so much in a short period of time is awesome. Chef Jacob does such a great job teaching and facilitating, he has a way of making everyone feel comfortable and capable of pulling off these amazing meals! I'll be going back again, and again no doubt about it.

Experiencia fantástica: I am visiting from Chicago and my wife found a cooking class for our family and it was a great experience! We learned how to cut a small side of beef and cook Filet Mignon steaks along with sides. I highly recommend this to anyone and the best thing is it supports a great cause of teaching and feeding people.

Learned a lot at the Filet Minon class and learned a bit about butchering, which I've wanted to do for a while, and taught me how to cook mushrooms in a way that makes me loves eating them - - they are usually the only things I won't eat. Experiencia negativa: Don't waste your money here! This "nonprofit" doesn't care about safeguarding your privacy or data. I signed up for a cooking class here, begged off work early, trekked in dead-stop rush hour traffic across town, even paid for parking... only to be turned away at the door because this "nonprofit" was doing an impromptu filming of the class. They pressed me to sign a waiver, to sign my soul away to be part of their unknown film, to let them use my image however they saw fit on Facebook and the internet. I politely declined and was told to leave. Did the organizers let me know ahead of time that they would be filming the class, send a little email warning? Nope. Did this "nonprofit" explain what legal rights I would be giving up to be part of their unknown video? Nope. Entire US elections are being swayed by abuses of our data and privacy and this "nonprofit" doesn't think it's important to be transparent about how your image and information will be used. Go elsewhere, please, where you won't have cameras forced in your face just for a cooking class.
