Experiencia positiva: I dropped my rating bc the sauna. 50% chance it’s below 100°F, takes forever to warm up, desk staff doesn’t even know what to say when you tell them the sauna is cold. “It’s on and I’ll let the staff know” is getting really old when I show up to a “COLD SAUNA”. THE ONLY GYM ON EARTH without HIP Abduction/Adduction machines. Cancelling soon because I can sweat quicker in my car.

Experiencia positiva: Come here for the sauna but most times it’s disappointing. Temperature is not monitored consistently by the front desk. Most visits I have to ask the front desk attendant to re-set the timer.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm 32 and was worried about the older population but honestly I love it lol it's way less crowded than other gyms, got all the equipment I'd need and I utilize all the extras (sauna, steam room and pool). There is hardly anyone ever in the sauna or steam rooms which is nice, I'm able to really relax. You have to reserve a lane for the pool which opens a week in advance, I haven't had trouble getting the day I wanted but may have to be flexible on time if waited until the day or so before. There is a few others around my age but every now and then I'll get a 70+ yr old looking at me like what are you doing here haha but majority of people are super nice. I also work at Rex hospital so the $20 discount was also a plus. I don't care for the classes but I see them going on a good bit. You can also go to other Rex centers (one in Cary and one in Knightdale) I haven't been yet but excited too because they are supposedly nicer/ newer. All in all this place works perfect for my needs!

Experiencia positiva: Usually not crowded. Reasonable amount of equipment, although generally one of each nautilus style weight machine. They have numerous styles of treadmill and bike machines and multiples of each. Has a pool and other pay for in addition to membership programs.

Experiencia positiva: I wanted to love this place as it has everything we're looking for. A bit dated but otherwise really nice. Great location and easy parking Problem is that the clientele is older and that's not the motivating factor we need when working out. If you are retired, this is an excellent place for you.

Experiencia fantástica: The ENTIRE NCICU staff @ at Rex Wellness is second to none! Every person on every shift was caring, empathetic and truly loves their patients and family of the patient. I have been to this unit several times with mom. I cannot say enough good things about this group! Our latest stay was 11 days so we met alot of staff in that time. My mom and entire family thank you for the exceptional care given to my mom. Thank you for what you do!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent care and compassion with the medical staff. However the people at the front door are NOT very helpful or friendly! The hospital is very hard to find your way around and good luck getting any directions from the front desk.

Experiencia fantástica: We saw our Duke Specialist here rather than going to Chapel Hill. The location was not hard to find for those coming in from out of town. The staff were all friendly and professional. A good place to go for medical services

Experiencia negativa: Terrible business, they charge you on random days and throw your personal belongings away. Steve and Beth are both horrible management. Steve literally will laugh at any concern you have. And there’s no contact for corporate as it’s a hospital.

Experiencia positiva: Meh. It doesn't seem worth the price of membership. I chose this location because it's difficult to find a sauna in Raleigh and I love to swim. The condition of the facilities was less than ideal, dirty and desperately needed upgrades 20+ years ago. I couldn't get myself to go into the locker room anymore it was so bad. Will reconsider if they ever upgrade.

Experiencia negativa: I honestly used to love REX but recently after my insurance changed they have been treating me differently. I used to have private insurance and they had the best quality of care. After I changed my insurance and got something off the marketplace with a lower income insurance it’s like they don’t give as much care. ESPECIALLY after they see your medical insurance card. So unless you have private insurance and have the extra money to spend on your appointments ...I would suggest trying somewhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: I like this location. The gym is cool and i love that its in a wellness center and not a stereotypical "gym". Plenty of exercise equipment. You can do practically any workout there except boxing. The staff is very friendly. I plan to take advantage of more of their offeribgs like yoga, swimming, massage.

Experiencia positiva: Great gym, esp if you don't like the typical gym atmosphere. Very laid-back, older crowd. Everybody does their own thing. It has a pool. It's a little expensive but worth it.

Experiencia positiva: Extremely nice staff. Good and modern equipment. Need a tradtional leg press machine and perhaps a few stairmasters. Locker room is nice. Parking is easy and never an issue. Towel service is nice. Steam room and saunas are shut down when it thunders but this could be corrected by having them located inside the locker room like the YMCA or FItness connection does it. Location is ideal as its right off the beltline. I would give it an A minus.

Experiencia positiva: Being the oldest of the Wellness Centers it really needs a rebuild. The pool is small, but manageable. The locker room it great and the upgrades are very nice. Parking can be a pain at times. You can come in the back side of Rex to get to it.

Experiencia positiva: The 2nd floor never seems to be vacuumed so dirt, hair etc. always collects in the area that one is trying to workout in. When I ask the people who work their they claim it will be taken care of it but it Never happens! Hopefully one day someone will claim responsibility for cleaning the 2nd floor.

Experiencia negativa: They simply refuse to upgrade to what a wellness center should have, such as the Wakefield center, i.e. a larger pool that has some part at 6 feet, and a true therapy pool at 89-90 degrees. I always think of joining but when I see the old pool and no therapy pool I realize they will never spend the money to upgrade. I also cannot figure out why they can't have a small warm room with a few therapy tables, since 90 percent of all therapy exercises are on a table. In the end money is the focus, not wellness.
