One-star review updated on 13Jun25. Original review: We loved the classes, our daughter participated for 3 years and made great progress. However, be cautious, this business is totally predatory. It is very easy to sign in but almost impossible to get out. We realized we had to travel overseas this summer and asked to pause our participation until September. We found out we couldn't pause for couple months despite the fact that we supported this business for 3 years! This felt unfair and very much not friendly. Therefore, we are canceling completely (still have to pay for the whole month to quit), and never coming back. Letting everyone know about it here, so you don't step into this same issue.

I appreciate how each class is a full body workout that changes every day so it doesn't become monotonous. I also really like the daily health tips that are offered at the end of each class. Scott, Damon, and G are excellent coaches. They make their rounds during class, ensuring everyone is using proper body mechanics and understanding the techniques. It’s a wonderful bonding experience for the both of them and it’s exciting to see them encourage each other. When our daughter turned 5 it was a no brainer, she’s always excited to go to class. Joining UMAK is one of the best decisions we've made as a parents to date.

I told my husband one day that I would do kickboxing I did it before we had children. Over ten years ago. My husband stumbled across a Groupon and let me know that he signed me up. I immediately got nervous and started coming up with a million reasons as to why I did not have time. I finally mustered up the courage and came into my first class. I have been going consistently 2 to 3 times a week for the last four weeks. The environment is welcoming there are people on all different levels the instructors are kind but they do push you, and I have seen the change in my body. Definitely the best decision I have made in 2023 thus far. If you are undecided this is the place for you. You can do it.

I myself joined the kickboxing fitness and its been great the group is very supportive and helpful. Mr Damon's and Mr G's personalities are great they have alot of patience dealing the diversity of the members. They also have a huge sense of humor which makes the experience more fun while learning a skill. Definently would recommend.

Many children that wanted to continue couldn’t because their parents lost her job so you know whatever the reasoning they couldn’t do it anymore. I have been with the organization since 2018 I believe or end of 2017. My daughter did the Young Dragon program. And when she graduated to beginners my Son joined Then I found out I could go for free since I was paying for two. I believe that ultimate martial arts and kickboxing has really helped me and my children build a different kind of relationship. GM Yates read me like a book the first day I went to camp at Atco. The instructors are wonderful and pretty patient for the most part. They even did door to door delivery of certificates and belts!! It is costly but I have gained some knowledge and different skills it’s worth it!

Experiencia negativa: This company unethically charged my credit card 3 full weeks after I cancelled my membership. My son attended MacKenzie and Yates Martial Arts in Hammonton, also known as Ultimate Martial Arts and Kickboxing. He attended for several months, probably close to a year in total. He eventually lost interest. I was on an automatic payment plan that charged my credit card monthly. When I called to cancel, I was told that there was a 30 day cancellation policy. There is nothing in the paperwork to suggest this policy, and they do not do anything special for my son or anyone else, you just show up to class whenever you can, so the notion of having to provide 30 days notice is ridiculous. Well, sure enough, 3 weeks later my credit card was charged again. The only reason to do this is just another way to jack money from customers. This place is expensive enough, and now I have to pay 3 weeks after I cancel? Unethical, poor business practice. Beware.

Experiencia fantástica: My son loves MYMA! He loves coming to class and making new friends. My son loves being in their leadership program and he helps out in the Young Dragons and Beginners class. The instructors make it fun and you are family here. My son kept asking me to let him join here for at least a year. I finally did and he has gained so much confidence, focus and learned various techniques in TKD. He has been involved for almost 2 years now and it was the best thing for him. My only regret was not looking into this program when he first asked me. Try out a class and you and your child won't regret it.

When my son first started this program he would not speak to anyone but after a month the instructors got him to speak to not only them but also his teammates. The classes are intense but you can push through no matter your fitness level. Whether you're looking to lose weight, gain strength, or just start some healthy habits, these classes are a fun, challenging way to do it! 10/10 would recommend.

We enrolled him in two different school sports programs to help boost his confidence and assertiveness but didn't really see him getting what he needed from them. With Mackenzie and Yates of Hammonton, however, we started to see some real changes. It took some time but his instructors knew how to bring out our son's competitive side. They use positive reinforcement regularly and we are seeing the results all the time.

Experiencia fantástica: My son has been going to MYMA since November 2015. I signed him up because I felt he needed something that would toughen him up and loosen him up as well. I also wanted him to be active in something. So I decided to give MYMA a try. Now 5 months later, my son and my family love it here. The facility is nice and clean. The instructors are not only kind and friendly but they are also very informative and knowledgeable about martial arts. My son is in the young dragons program so the instructors give parents tips and show us what they are looking for in the different skills. As a parent I also like how active they are on social media. I use social media a lot and I always get notifications on tips and about how the young dragons did for that day in class. Most importantly , my son loves it. He gets excited during signature days. I can hear him shout, "yes, sir." Or yell every time he punches. My son goes home and practices with his younger sister. I recommend MYMA .

I have noticed an improvement in her self-control, and her behavior at home and school has been significantly better. While she still struggles at times due to Autism and ADHD, martial arts has provided a positive outlet for her. The class times and schedule are also very flexible, especially for working parents!
