My son joined the martial arts community in 2021, and will be testing for his black belt in April! Instructors are knowledgeable and are invested in their students! Definitely recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: My 5 and 6.5 year old girls started Taekwondo earlier this year and I already see a vast improvement in their listening skills and confidence. Their classes are a great outlet to let out energy, work on focusing and balance, and build discipline.

My boys first attended on Buddy Day back in April and we are still here, because of all of the wonderful people and instructors there. I have seen a change in my boys with following directions and having that structure has helped out tremendously!!! If you are looking for a great place for martial arts this is your place!!! 5 stars is not enough for the amazing job that they do here!!

Experiencia negativa: We used to go to the wake forest location. Things started well but the place started smelling like sewage. The smell didn’t seem to bother the people who work there. My kid lost interest in going to that location and they ended up charging my card twice for the motnth of January 2024. Their stuff is also overpriced. Please don’t waste your hard earned money at this location.

Experiencia fantástica: The instructor, Kaitlyn Neikirk, is one of the most dedicated and talented workers that my child has ever trained under. She’s taught my daughter for two years now and every lesson she attends is extremely enjoyable. Her instructor even became a state champion this year, so wonderful to know she’s learning from one of the best.

She is a phenomenal instructor who captivates her students immediately. As a parent, I love that they focus on discipline and respect from the moment you walk in the door.

We had an issue with bullying and they stepped up to the plate to encourage our daughter to stand up for herself. Great role models and my daughter looks up to them. Highly recommend ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: This was EVERYTHING I was looking for...women instructors, gentle coaching, firm standards, and FUN. Myself, and both kids, are on the spectrum, and this class leaves us refreshed, confident, and NOT OVERWHELEMED. We are able to train together too! I love it, and would recommend to anyone looking to start (or continue!) TKD. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve called this place several times with no response, then got a text from Kimberly LaVinge who claims to be an instructor and director for this location, and when I responded right away I got no response for 2 weeks, then a text back, then no response again. I tried one last time to call and booked a trial, and a couple hours before the trial on the day, when I texted to ask a question related to the appointment, I got a text back saying instructor out sick have to reschedule. No advance notice whatsoever, wonder if we’d even be informed at all if I didn’t text, and end up showing up with no one there. How can this place run a business like this? Completely Unreliable.

Experiencia negativa: The worst experience ever! The instructor who we had had no patience at all, she told me my son wasn’t ready for martial artist, but isn’t that what you are there for. Don’t waste your money!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My youngest LOVES this school! He has gained confidence, became a much better listener and shows respect for all of those around him. He has moved in rank and it has given him such sense of accomplishment and the confidence to try new things. We have been part of a few schools in the past and this is by far a keeper!

Experiencia fantástica: I started classes in January 2022 and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructors and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I like that the classes are mixed ages with kids of all ages and adults learning together. Ms. Neikirk is a great teacher. I would recommend this taekwondo school to anyone. My only complaint is they need more parking lol.

I would highly recommend this location for kids of all ages. The Competitions are super fun and will keep your kid focused and busy with learning and practicing their routines! Great for keeping tweens from finding trouble, and from their usual “I’m bored” attitude! My little ones thoroughly enjoy coming to practices and seeing their instructors each week!

Experiencia negativa: When my daughter was attending she had a very good experience. She ended up stopping before the agreement date was up. When I contacted them to cancel I was led to believe the cancellation would take place immediately since we had made payments through the pandemic even when we couldn't attend classes. Then I got billed again for the month after the agreement. I contacted them and they said they were going to bill me again. I went to the studio and was told there was nothing they could do. Thanks for not reciprocating our understanding of a the tough financial impact of Covid where we kept paying.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t do it unless you are absolutely positive that your kid is sure. My four year old would be too tired after being in preschool all day to get anything from the weekday classes. She loved the Saturday morning classes but those would usually be canceled due to testing or tournaments. When I tried to cancel her membership, there is fine print in the contract that will continue to charge your card until the contract is completed. Your kid has THREE days to decide if this is for them. After that, you’re stuck. Don’t be fooled by the friendly demeanor and the presentation of caring about your family. It’s a business and it’s all about the money. So make sure you’re sure. It’s a shady business with no integrity. Don’t be stuck like me. Explore your other options.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been with VMA in Wake Forest for at least 7 years and have loved our experiences and time there. Our kids have enjoyed tournaments, the leadership programs, as well as the daily classes. The staff have been positive and supportive while also keeping high standards and expectations. They have helped our kids to excel in martial arts as well as in life. It has definitely been money and time well spent, and we plan to continue the journey to higher degrees of black belts.

Experiencia fantástica: My son has been attending VMA since June of this year and I can't begin to explain the immense growth in confidence, self esteem, and respect I've seen in him. The values that are consistently reinforced in class are the exact principles I want instilled in my child and they are delivered in the best ways. Concepts children can understand and apply to their daily life. Since he's started taking classes his understanding of expectations have changed in the best ways. I no longer have to repeat myself multiple times for simple tasks to be done and even beyond that he's developed so much self started initiative to doing chores or just the right thing in certain situations. I would 100% recommend this school to any and all parents. If my schedule would allow I'd I'd love to join and become a student myself. This is a beautifully run company and I trust in the instructors here to not only teach my son taekwondo values and morals but how to apply them to his daily life for life.

Experiencia fantástica: VMA - Rogers Lane is the absolute best. Mrs. Vallury/Neikirk/LaVigne make an awesome team. This program has helped my children come out of their shell and be more confident team players (not to mention they are more disciplined ). We take classes as a family and they absolutely love our family time. I absolutely recommend them.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been at VMA Wake Forest for a little more over 3 years. Overall, it has been an amazing experience for me. I really enjoy training here and employing discipline and self-defense through martial arts. Being at VMA has not only improved my confidence greatly but I also am improving my concentration and focus while getting a workout at the same time! The local and regional competitions have been very exciting and engaging too. The instructors at the studio do an amazing job of making sure everyone having fun while also being good role models by instilling important values, demonstrating positive attitudes, and being very communicative with each student. Despite the struggles that come with the pandemic, VMA and its instructors have not failed in keeping everyone involved, whether it be virtual or in-person, while maintaining social distancing and safety for each student. I definitely recommend! It's an amazing experience to be a part of the Vision family :)

The instructors are so dedicated and genuine, and create such a feeling of welcome. They have not given up on their dedication to their students during this year. They give their all and continue to adapt in orde to make martial arts a possibility.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter has been taking taekwondo classes at VMA Wake Forest for 2.5 years, and I can definitely say this is the right place for it. She has developed her coordination, strength, endurance, confidence and grit. The instructors at VMA know what they’re doing. They can get the best out of the students from 4-year olds ( I think) to adults. My then 7-year old was timid and awkward when she started out. Even her jumping jacks were uncoordinated. After 2.5 years, many local and a few regional competitions, I can definitely see a big improvement in her character and physicality. The surprising thing for me is that VMA also teaches the students to develop good character. They teach the kids respect, self-esteem, and honesty imbedded in the lessons. They also make sure that students understand that learning self-defense is important, but avoiding conflict is what they need to do first. The instructors at VMA are awesome! It starts, I guess, with good leadership. Chief Master Wegmann was one of my daughter’s first instructors. He knows how to talk to and handle kids and adults alike. All the other instructors then, and the ones we have now at Wake Forest are experienced and professional. Shout out to Mr. Ti, Ms. Ball, Mr. Cubbage, Ms. Niekirk and of course, Ms. V!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been attending a Vision school for 5 years. It’s been a great experience for myself and my kids. We enjoy taking classes together. This is a great workout and a great way to take your mind off of work. My kids have also been enrolled for the same amount of time. I have seen them become more disciplined and have more confidence in their abilities. They really enjoy going to class and interacting with the other students and instructors. The instructors are great! They teach the classes in a professional manner and truly want to see you succeed. They also take the time to get to know you on a personal basis and understand your learning style. The other students professional and are always willing to help each other out. It’s like you family away from home. The school has also done a great job during the pandemic. They have offered virtual classes for those that don’t want to attend classes at the school. They are also offering classes at the school and have implemented precautionary measures to ensure everyone’s safety. If you are looking to learn self-defense and get a good work out, this is a great place to do that.

Experiencia negativa: Beware! This business is a year-long scam and so if you are not sure you love this sport and want to spend the full amount for a full year - DON'T DO IT. Our son went to 2 sessions - 2! Do not believe the smooth talking owner who tells you that you can try it and cancel. Apparently, you are no longer able to deal with the business itself once they sign you up. Their 3rd processing accounting company will not cancel the account unless documentation of permanent disability. Ridiculous to have to jump over these hoops.
