Dr. Chris Powell at Wellness Pittsburgh was recommended to me by a trusted friend who is a certified massage therapist. I was ready to try anything. Dr. Chris was able to get me on the schedule quickly, listened to me, and created a plan to start my therapy. I immediately trusted him and knew I was in good hands. Because my condition was so severe, I knew the treatments would not be a cakewalk. After 2 weeks, I am walking, with very little pain. I haven't seen Dr. Powell in 6 or 7 years, and he remembered me right away and we were able to catch up. His adjustments are always smooth and easy, with patient comfort top priority. He talks you through the adjustment, tips to help you feel better and general wellness tips to support you. Walking into the office for my first appointment started an incredible healing journey that I thought wouldn't be possible. A few months ago I started having serious issues regarding my back. The symptoms included a loss of basic motor function and almost complete numbness in my hands which radiated up my arms and through my feet. I'm in my mid 30s and pretty healthy and was devastated. I had trouble getting through my day and performing basic tasks. Getting groceries, sending an email, signing a birthday card became a struggle. I couldn't sleep and would lay in bed night after night. I was confused and scared. My next stop was the ER when someone suggested first I go see Dr. Powell and Wellness Pittsburgh. I have to admit I was skeptical and thought that my symptoms were too severe at this point. With nothing to lose I made my first appointment over the phone with the friendly and professional staff. Dr. Powell sat with me as I told him what was happening in my body. He listened intently and focused on what I was saying even though I was all over the place. I was ready to hear the bad news and have my suspicions confirmed that there wasn't much anyone could do besides surgery. Dr. Powell said he believed he could help! I received my first adjustment and treatment after the consultation. By the next day I had some noticeable relief. I was encouraged and looking forward to my next appointment. Things kept getting better and better with each visit. Another month or so down the road and I have had 80% or more of my symptoms reduced or eliminated completely. I have full feeling in both of my hands! I had almost none when I first walked in. The intense radiating of tingling and numbness throughout my arms is gone and I can sleep at night. Typing, writing, running errands are no longer a struggle. I feel like I have my life back. Dr. Powell is knowledgable, professional, friendly, and patient. He has been adjusting all three of my kids since they were born as well. His office is warm, clean, and inviting. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Powell is friendly and thorough with a nice combination of assessment, what I call the "yank and crank," and the whole "voodoo" which is to say, scientifically sensing your body's weaknesses. I've seen chiros who just crack your back and put you on the table for fifteen minutes with little personalization, and that's not what you'll get here. With Jane at the front desk and Bella the door dog (free belly rubs are good therapy!), you'll feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. It's also pretty cool that he's good with kids and pregnant ladies!

His expertise and holistic approach to my wellnesss makes every visit worth the effort. I am self employed and have 3 young children so I am dependent on Dr Chris to keep my body performing at an optimal level. He has integral role in keeping my family healthy. He does a great job and if you have any reservations about seeing a chiropractor give him a chance and he will not disappoint.

Experiencia fantástica: Soooooooo, let's start with the fact that I was TERRIFIED of chiropractors. Was not going to go near one..EVER. Next, and most importantly, I have fibromyalgia, so, sometimes, even thinking hurts, let alone a chiropractic adjustment. One afternoon I was having a conversation in his general vicinity and found out that Dr. Powell was a chiropractor! I politely told him, "You're nice and all, but you DO know I'm not going to see you, right? I don't do chiropractors." He just smiled, handed me his card, and said, "Call on Monday, and speak to Jane, my receptionist." So, I did, and made an appointment for Tuesday. I go into the office Tuesday (Jane is SUPER nice, btw), and I fill out some paperwork. He takes me back and does this assessment, and sets up an appointment for the next day to go over my results. I come back and we go over them all, and he customizes an adjustment schedule to fit MY needs and MY comfort level. He walks me through to the exam room, and asks me if I had a bad experience, and I flat out told him that I had never been because all of that cracking freaks me out-it turns out that what I thought I was my body was just the table moving! Dr. Powell is an amazingly understanding doctor. He goes at the pace that is comfortable for you. All of my fellow fibro sufferers-if you've ever had a bad experience with a chiropractor, I encourage you to give it one more go with Dr. Powell. It may seem like it's not working at first, but I promise, you will start to feel better! I am Team Wellness Pittsburgh!!
