Experiencia negativa: Elizabeth NJ Metro Club is a mess. They don't give you a copy of the contract and then you find out that you have to pay not only the monthly fee of $33.00, but also the maintenance of the gym which is $49.00 plus taxes, maintenance that is not seen, because it is a gym where most of the time the machines are out of service. The seats of the machines are worn and broken. It is a dirty place and if you want to leave, they charge you even more. There is no manager to talk to, only a girl or a boy who sometimes has no idea about anything serves you. And if you call the phone number, they never answer. I’m out! !! Don’t waste your money and time there. PDA: There are better gyms than this one and the same monthly price and no surprises. Bigger, cleaner, with good machines, with a pool and saunas.

Experiencia negativa: This has to be the nastiest, most disgusting and embarrassing place in the history of all gyms. If you want to achieve a goal, forget about it, the equipment is 90% broken. The mats are nasty and smell like burnt flesh. The trash bins have their mouths open, so everytime you walk by you will be slapped with the nastiest smell around that area. The lockers 90% are broken. The steam room stinks because of old wood mixed with sweat. The showers never work. The floor is so dirty, you’d rather walk in a garbage factory and feel more clean. The staff are mostly very friendly but some are so miserable, no smile, no welcome, nothing. This place needs new management and a new look because the location is amazing, it’s just the inside that really matters.

Experiencia negativa: One of the dirtiest, unkept places I have ever been to. I had to comeback to cancel my membership cause they wouldn’t do it on a Saturday or Sunday. This place gets no new equipment, and it is never cleaned. If you want to go to this gym you are wasting your time. I have never seen the staff clean this gym and the same equipment has been there since this gym opened. Very bad experience and the last time I will ever go here.

Experiencia negativa: Varias veces he llamado para cancelar la membresía porque estoy bastante insatisfecha y me han puesto mil excusas, me cobran más dinero cuando les da la gana, hoy en la noche fui a preguntar por la cancelación y la persona más despota que pueden tener en la recepción, me dio una información de muy mala gana, no había terminado de hablar cuando me dijo que tenga buena noche, que creen que no merecemos respeto como personas, además que no quiero cancelar tengo que regalarles un mes más porque es la póliza, realmente es una falta de respeto!! Sin demasiado irrespetuosos y faltos de educación!!

Experiencia negativa: I'd leave 0 stars or negative 10 stars if I could. This gym has rude staff. They litterly will stop you mid workout to tell you to rerack your weight, which I already do. The owner booted me because I was unhappy. Well guess what, she was right. I was unhappy because of the lack of safety on equipment. In the picture you see below you will see the floor under the squat rack that is a big tripping hazard. Just imagine you have the bar on your back and step back. You trip on this soft tile and you can potentially die. Oh and the staff does not speak any English.
Experiencia negativa: The lady that works in the front desk is extremely disrespectful. Comes to me in the middle of my workout and tells me I never re rack my weights which is not true (I used to work in a gym, I always re rack my weights) she's very rude when I ask for a protein shake, she tells me she doesn't want to make one and that I should ask 45min before the gym closes. I have so much patience but this girl continues to harass me. One time she didn't want me to scan my card told me to wait and pretends to do something else while I wait. Horrible.

Experiencia negativa: Cuidado con este lugar que ya veo que le ha pasado a varias personas, yo estaba buscando un entrenador personal y apareció un señor llamado Ronald (Uruguayo) y ofreció un plan para pagar el año. Pero se fue para su país y bloqueo a todas las personas que compramos su plan que supuestamente se llama "beast mode" y el gimnasio lo único que dice es que no trabajan con el, pero el sigue utilizando ese nombre para estafar personas. Cuidado no caigan en eso.
Porfavor de pasar por el gymnasio y podrá ver que el ya no esta ahí ni tiene nada que ver con la nueva administración. Si hay personas que han sudo víctima de el pueden llevarlo a corte ya que este es un pais con derechos para todos gracias

Experiencia negativa: En este gimnasio trabaja un personal trainer que se llama Ronald y es de Uruguay, el punto es que mi prima y yo fuimos por uno de sus paquetes donde pagamos $1800; $900 cada una, donde él prometió “nutrición” “clases personalizadas” pero desde el principio fue antiprofesional, a veces no llegaba a las clases y no se justificaba, nos dio una dieta de internet según personalizada, nosotras pagamos en noviembre y solo entrenamos diciembre, por qué el según se fue a su país de vacaciones y todavía no regresa,. Y el gimnasio dice que debimos ver bien a quien pagábamos, pero como? Si está dentro del gimnasio y el gimnasio no se hace responsable. Pues debería el gimnasio, el manager ver quienes están dentro de ahí, quienes trabajan ahí, porque se que no solo a mi me ha pasado esto, hay muchas personas más y mucho dinero más de por medio.. si saben que ya habían tenido estos problemas con el antes, no debería contratar a personas así.. porque por lo que ahora se, hay quejas desde el año pasado de el mismo, y bueno nosotras por creer que cómo está con un gimnasio reconocido, confiamos y pagamos. Que decepción, y ahora nadie se hace cargo, y el solo desapareció con el dinero de muchas chicas, a mi me bloqueo de Instagram y whatsapp.
I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience with Ronald. He does not work for the company and he is an independent contractor. Please also have your cousin or the person with the bad experience with the proper paperwork file a complaint against him in court to get any funds and more back. Hope this helps

Desde hace algunos meses subieron el precio y a ninguno de los miembros se les notificó nada más subieron yo no se dio cuenta al momento que iba a pagar cuando uno paga en cash porque las personas que pagan con tarjeta no se enteran

Experiencia negativa: The gym itself is okay. I went when I knew there weren’t going to be an abundance of people so it was never crowded but with the limited space I can imagine that could be an issue during peak hours. The gym, in a vacuum, could get 3 stars. My issues start with signing up. They didn’t honor the trial pass from the website, that’s fine I guess. I’ve been there before so I was okay with that. I asked about a friend pass. I was told by the employee that the up charged pass allowed me to bring a a friend. I even brought a friend with me on more than one occasion. Then the third time I was told that they don’t honor a friend pass. I didn’t record her telling me I could bring a friend and I didn’t actually see the contact I signed. Lesson learned and was implemented well later on. So now I’ve been lied to and I try to cancel. Canceling was a nightmare. The manager was never in when I tried to cancel, the employees apparently don’t have access to the systems, they all of a sudden can’t really understand English. Just making it difficult. I disconnected them from my card and ABC financial tried to send me to collections. Enough was enough. I read thoroughly through my contract for the right way to cancel. I went in and recorded a video of the final, in person, conversation. They tried to lie again. I was within the notice period, they tried used a different contracts notice period. I gave them the cancellation letter, the employee didn’t want to accept it. She apparently could put me in the system but couldn’t take me out. Apparently I could pay the month off and be out of the system but if I didn’t pay she didn’t have access. I was told to wait until the manager was in which was outside of the notice period. I then went to ABC financial directly and let them know I have video evidence of all of this. When I called the gym again they easily canceled my membership over the phone. They got $100-$200 out of me but I’m just glad to be free. Retro fitness also uses ABC financial and canceling with them had none of the extra nonsense. This gym in particular did this nonsense of their own desire. I won’t tell you to not go there but I highly recommend against it. I still have the video evidence and if another lawsuit were to happen I will swiftly deliver.

No estoy viviendo en nj y solicito la cancelación del la membresía ya que no puedo utilizar el servicio y la única solución es que viaje a nj y cancelarla personalmente. Esas niñas no tienen ni idea de donde están paradas. En este país uds no pueden obligar a nadie a tomar un mal servicio y menos a obligar a la gente a ir hast nj. Todos los trámites en este país son online y no se que artimañas pretende utilizar para retener la gente y obligarlos a pagar por un mal servicio.
Experiencia negativa: The place is dirty and bad maintained. Yet they charge $49 every year for a maintenance fee. I tried to canceled my membership with them. Every 13th they take the money, I came the 14th of may to cancel. I agreed to pay for this month for the short notice, yet they charged me another $26 ??? The lady said they don’t count the day of, and even so, counting from the 15 of may to the 13 is 30 days of notice. These people don’t care about their gym and they try to scam you. Their solution was to come back Monday when the manager is in the facility. I live 30 mins from the gym and I’ve had to come back for this issue 3 times already. Disgraceful. To cancel my membership I had to take $100 out of my pocket.

Why even have the option to get a free pass, if it’s not honored!? She told me I had to pay $10 in order to enter. She was rude and nasty. The “manager” was not knowledgeable of anyone above her that I can contact about this situation. I do not recommend any one going to this gym. NOT WELCOMING at all to new customers.

I had the membership, when I signed up no one explained their rule if charging maintenance fees as soo. as you sign up and you can not opt out even if u join for a week and decide to withdraw. I found out later when the agreement arrived in my email. Any ways i decided to discontinue my membership they said i have to pay another month although i had already paid for the same month once. Also pay 75 for the yearly maintenance. Disappointed. WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Experiencia negativa: I signed my club metro membership at Newark nj i paid $37 a month that includes all metro gym well i decided to go to the Elizabeth location in Morris ave And didn't let me in because i didn't have access to that location, i called costumer services and they told i could go to any location since my membership already included they still didnt let me in , so i went to clubemtro.com Elizabeth nj and signed for one day FREE pass and they still didn't let me in because of the COVID-19 but yeah the lady said if u paid $10 dollars u could go in shame on them never again im going to call corporate and report them Mind you it was a snow day .and it was probably like 6 peoples in the whole gym

Experiencia negativa: I been going to this gym for four years and I've never seen this gym in such a bad condition. Everyday it gets more expensive charging you for things that you don't use.the maintenance payment does not get properly use to keep the gym clean and up to date. I even canceled my membership last month and they still charged me an extra month because I had to let them know 30 days before my next payment. I don't recommend this gym to anyone.
Experiencia negativa: Place is filthy, staff walking around aimlessly not doing much of anything or talking on their phones. Sauna thermostat is broken, you have no clue what your gaging heat at. Place is crowded everyday. Used to be 24 hours but stopped. I lost my excitement coming here. Parking is almost non existent, people make their own parking spots sometimes making it difficult for you to get out of your own parking spot.... place is a joke!

I had to cancel my subscription since it was too hot to workout making my gains suffer. I had to go to LA fitness which is a way better gym. Glad im out of this hell hole
Experiencia negativa: No deposit, 20 bucks a month and convenient to get to isn’t such a bad deal. 80% of all equipment is in rough shape/ broken but you pay for what you get. BIGGEST ISSUE is it’s HOT. Gym temp is steady at 80~85 degrees all summer. Workers say they aren’t allowed to turn up the AC. If you want to work out in a Sauna then perfect gym for you. On the other hand if your someone who pushes their limits you might get a heat stroke.

Experiencia positiva: I don’t know who is owner here but I think he didn’t check what is going on inside. the yoga mats are in the worst condition - dirty and broken. they really need to be changed. if you are too sensitive you can get a rash after a workout on them. 2 years ago here was PIYO classes and I really enjoyed them and the trainer. sad that now everywhere is a lot of Zumba only. some of training apparatus look horrible. I post a picture here one week ago of the leg curl equipment , and no it is repaired. Aliluia one good thing glass in one room stays broken 2-3 weeks already and they put scotch on it. it is not very clean. I can’t wait to finish this year and to change to another gym

Experiencia negativa: Lots of machines broken Customer service sucks Dirty No A/C
Experiencia negativa: Didn’t post the right time they were open so I had missed a whole day at the gym
Experiencia positiva: I got enrolled a some point in my life, staff was rude, i brought a friend to get a tour at the gym and was not aloud to get the tour. Anyways parking is extremely complicated if you ever get to find one, and the gym was most of the time full of ppl. Hope they keep improving by now.
Experiencia negativa: I can't say a single good thing about this place. It used to be ok place. Now it is just trash
Experiencia negativa: I really rather not deal with this gym honestly, they make minors sign contracts as if they know what their signing which is a crime, but it's all about the money for them I see. They don't even have parking, nobody there speaks proper English, the sauna never works, staff is useless as well as the manager. I've been calling to speak with the manager for months the staff always tells me she'll call me back but she never does, the staff told me she comes in at 6pm, I called at 6:30PM I was told by the same staff that the manager isn't there yet that I should give her some time because she never comes in on time. I cancelled my membership, I don't have their time for games.
Experiencia negativa: Llevo 3 años llendo a este gym pero últimamente me tiene muy decepcionada, lo he visto muy sucio y desorganizado; muchas veces el baño de mujeres no tiene cortinas, algunas de las perillas de las duchas estan sueltas o en ocaciones no tiene papel de manos. Llevo viendo un vidrio roto por mas de 6 meses en la sección de abdominales y ademas muchas maquinas estan dañas al igual que las colchonetas. Pero el staff ( los hombres) presta un buen servicio y hacen lo posible por que uno se sienta comodo a lo que este en sus manos.
Experiencia negativa: I have been in the Elizabeth location for a few time now. It's close to my house however normally in the Newark location to be close to my job and have a early workout. Today I come in the girl at the desk acted like she did not want to even be bothered. She was on her phone. She did even stand up to greet the guest. Whatever that's not what made me judge this place. So as I said I work out to in the morning than go to work. Lol I went to shower. There was 3 showers 2 did not have hot one and did not even look like it was clean. Out of all 3 showers there was only one with a shower curtain nor rods and a floor mate. Of course my luck it had to be the one that has no hot water. So what I did, i played maintains person and took the rod woth the shower curtain and moved it to the only shower that had hot water along with the mate. Lol no wonder I never saw ppl shower here. #never again

Experiencia negativa: By far the worst club metro up North. The machines are very old and not a clean place in my eyes. Showers sometimes are cold by far the worst. Stay away.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a great place to workout and sweat. Great customer service and staff. Nice and big gym and clean bathrooms. Highly recommend going here.
