Experiencia negativa: Equipment is alright, something seems to be constantly broken though. Part that is absolutely terrible is the billing. My friends and I have all had nothing but terrible experiences when we go to college and try to cancel our memberships. They send you for a loop, you call to cancel, they say you have to come in to cancel, you go in to cancel, they tell you none of the billing is done there and you have to email to cancel, then they drag their feet over email so you are paying for multiple more months than you want to, then they say you can only cancel TWO MONTHS in advance. Do not join this gym unless you want to be paying for it for months more than you actually go to it.

Experiencia negativa: Since I’ve been a member here, I’ve introduced 3 friends to this gym. The first two friends filled out a free one day pass upon entering for their first visits. I’ve also paid for several friends to have day passes which were $20 each. However, my third friend did not receive this same courtesy upon his first visit here. So I paid $30 for him to have access for an hour to workout with me instead of arguing with the desk. The desk explained that the price went up from $20 to $30 and the free pass is now appointment based only. I’m unhappy with these changes that I was unaware of, how the situation was handled, and the overpriced day pass.

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE - Per the responder's recommendation below, I have tried getting in touch with this vendor via several calls and emails for the past two weeks. After giving my information multiple times to multiple people to try and get a manager to respond, I have not heard anything. To clarify my issue, isn't that I have to send in a written form of cancellation. Clearly, I was well over the 30 day mark when I tried to cancel my membership. My frustration is the customer experience; telling someone one thing and then having another thing happen is frustrating, and because of that, I was charged for a whole year of gym membership I won't be able to use because I'm moving out of state. Having no flexibility, taking no accountability, and shifting the blame to me for not following the "easy steps" is not how you run a business (even a small one). If the person at the front desk had reminded me that I needed to send in an email, I would have gladly done that. Because I was given the wrong information and told the issue was all set, this happened. Not because I forgot to cancel my membership or because I cannot write an email. The amount of time I've spent on this review alone is double the effort that it would have taken me to send the stupid cancellation email! On top of that, telling me that I'm being unreasonable when I'm sharing what my experience has been is out of line. I gave a fair account of what has happened so far and what my experience has been. This whole interaction shows the lack of integrity that this business has, especially given that I'm still technically a paying "customer" and they refuse to get back to me. ------------------------------- First, let's start with the good: the gym is well stocked and has a lot of equipment. That's about it. The gym itself is very OK - the inside smells kind of damp and like there is a low grade mold problem. My biggest issue with this gym is the customer experience - specifically around billing. The cancellation policy is unnecessarily rigid. My membership was set to auto-renew in August 2024. I spoke with someone at the front desk in APRIL to cancel my membership. They clicked a few things on their screen - told me they turned off auto-renew and said I was all set, I never got a confirmation email or anything. Then in August, when my membership auto-renewed, I called to say I had already canceled and spoke to someone at the front desk in person. They said they didn't have any proof that I canceled my membership, and that they did not offer refunds at all (for any reason). They did offer to change the membership if I found someone to "buy out" my contract. Looking through the other reviews, it's clear that people have had similar issues, and it makes me wonder if this kind of "error" happens frequently to make the gym more money. Honestly, you're better off going to Planet Fitness or another smaller local gym where you'll either get a self service way to cancel online or can speak to the owner directly about canceling.

Experiencia negativa: STAY AWAY!!!! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. I have called multiple times over the last 5 months as well as sent emails telling them to cancel my membership since I cannot get in. Each time they pass the buck and play the "it's not my fault" game. I now have a bill from collections after being told multiple times they will cancel my membership and not to worry. I do not have access to the gym and cannot scan in. I was told that Anna, the manager, was in today and that my message would be passed along and it would be fixed quickly. I called again today, a day later and was told she was not in but they will call me back within the hour. It has been 5 hours now. Called again and now no one is picking up. Completely unprofessional, untrustworthy and border line criminal. DO NOT, under any circumstances, join this gym, you will not be able to cancel, have access or have anything resembling customer service.

Experiencia fantástica: Nice gym, modern equipment, friendly staff and GREAT HEALTHY SMOOTHIES( that are tasty too) I took up a couple of sessions with Laura and I wish I had done so sooner, unfortunately I am leaving the area . She will teach you the right way to lift, right body posture and ENCOURAGE you. She is so motivated that it rubs off on you.Thank You Laura, I will always remember you and all you've taught me.

Experiencia negativa: I used to love this place but it’s become a terrible environment. I moved to Florida a couple years ago but I kept my membership here for when I come back every couple months. They make up new rules every time I go. Everyone I know stopped going here because they were constantly getting violations for who knows what. Never know what you’re gonna walk into. You’re better off going to planet fitness down the street honestly. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place installed one of those “lunk alarm” things lol. Last time I went I had my brother film a 5 second video for me (at a very slow time), I was told that you’re not allowed to film there. I mentioned how it says on the “rules” sign that you can film PR’s. I was told that it does not say that. I took a photo if you want to read for yourself + decide what it says. I thought I knew how to read at 25 years old but maybe not. I also don’t blame the person who actually said something to me. She was just doing her job. Just told me that “Ann said this and Ann said that.” Ann wasn’t even there, just creeping on the cameras and making up rules for a gym she is never at (no one I asked knows who she is). Sooo that’s a little strange. My entire family has been going here for 5+ years but we’re currently on a search for a new gym in the area. Experiencia positiva: While the equipment is nice, up to date, and the staff is friendly, the pricing at this gym is absolutely absurd. They advertise "$35/month", but then you have to pay a sign up fee of 99$ + a yearly $60 fee for "maintenance". Why are we paying for the owner's maintenance? This is a cost that you accept when you decide to open a gym. For a few dollars more (including the fees) I joined a gym down the street which offers a multi story gym, bike room, free classes, a pool, a sauna, basketball courts, and many other amenities. I would love to come workout here as it's closer, but for some reason the owner thinks he's running a middle class Equinox instead of a slightly better Planet Fitness, and I refuse to give business to someone that greedy. ****UPDATE. This "maintenance fee" has been increased from $60 -> $75

I usually work out around noon time or a little after, and she is always pushing the vacuum cleaner around the floors, polishing the glass, keeping the spray bottles and cleaning cloths available, attending to guests, making protein drinks for the members, and probably much more that I am unaware of. The equipment is state of the art and always taken care good care of. The staff is helpful and courteous with Valerie as a standout with a great attitude and professionalism. If Valerie is not cleaning equipment and attending to facility necessities, she is making the best protein shake I could ask for. Thanks Valerie for placing the member first.....

Experiencia fantástica: This gym is awesome! It's convenient, 24 hours, very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and encouraging. I just recently joined the gym and there's some great promotions going on. Nikki at the front desk was so kind and helpful and really took her time explaining everything and touring me around. I've never been to a 24 hour gym with constantly locked doors, so not gonna lie, I was kinda intimidated going in, but as soon a so walked in, the vibe was awesome. It's not crowded, they have a wicked good shake bar at the front, and everything is separated nicely so you don't feel crowded. I haven't been here yet after hours, but I really like that it's located in the brightly lit stop and shop plaza, so I don't feel nervous going there at night. I'm excited to join here and I'm hoping I can encourage some of my friends to join too.

I love Maria's classes - she makes sure that you are doing all the exercises correctly and varies the exercises for each class - I go to all 3 of her classes. The staff is wonderful, always so cheerful and everyone is so helpful. Best gym I ever joined.

Experiencia negativa: Luther, the owner, is nothing but disrespectful to his members and employees. When a complaint is brought to his attention he gets defensive and says it not his problem because his gym is "so amazing", clearly that man can do nothing wrong. You got great equipment, but you also have a terrible ego and personality. I'm sorry if anyone else has had to deal with his behavior. Wishing you nothing but the best, but I hope you learn to how to talk to others respectfully. Edit from response: I have chosen to remain anonymous for various reason. However, I still wrote my review because my experience is valid. I am absolutely not willing to contact the gym and that is because its pointless getting berated, which has happened numerous times to myself and other members (over the phone). While I cannot truly speak on behalf of others, I know I am not the only one with a similar experience. Just look at some responses to reviews. One reads "As a fellow Veteran, I would expect a higher standard from a brother in arms and will presume you are simply under incredible duress." I would like to think a grown man and a Vet himself, would know better than to air dirty laundry over the internet. It saddens me that from a negative review the staff resorted to using a reviewers personal information to to formulate a response. I hope the gym nothing but the best and I do mean that. Just different owner.

Experiencia positiva: been trying to cancel this membership forever. It's a great gym...world class..., but I am working out closer to my work location. No one seems to know how to cancel... 800# referred me to the local location... local location said it has to be done in person.... when visiting the local branch, no front desk person to be found... finally got one on the phone who said they can't do it at the location and gave me an email address to contact. Fingers crossed. I'd probably give more stars if it weren't for what feels like a crazy run-around.

Experiencia negativa: Disappointed in the management at NRG. I had been a member for over a year when the pandemic hit. After realizing I was getting charged despite a pandemic occurring, I reached out to management and explained that I was not comfortable coming back to the gym during the pandemic, especially because I am a healthcare worker and am high risk. I asked if they could refund me for the months I did not go to the gym and I never got a response, even after multiple emails. Instead, they cancelled my membership and charged me a cancellation fee. Edit due to owner reply** I emailed multiple times. The only time I get a response is when it is public? It is disappointing when a business does not respect their clients yet publicly acts like they care. NRG was only looking out for themselves during this time. No - I did not use the facility due to a nation wide PANDEMIC. There was never an option given to freeze the membership like you claim. Charges should have automatically been paused until the member decided it was safe for them to return.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this gym! I am so glad I made the switch from Planet Fitness. This gym has 24/7 access which was very important to me (on pause right now because of the pandemic). You cannot beat the price of this luxury gym. Classes are included, you can take as many classes as you want. They have an app that makes it easy to sign up. Since the pandemic you can now take the classes in the studio or from the comfort of your home. I love the dance/zumba, barre, and muscle classes! The place is clean and the staff is friendly!

Experiencia negativa: your blatant disregard for your customers is astounding, I was at the gym for over a year and during the COVID times they increased my membership from $25 to $45 without any notification. I found out by checking my bank account. The ironic thing is they didn't charge me for the few months that they weren't open and to supplement they increased my membership almost double. My wife as well has been supporting the gym for 9 months while not going to the gym because that is just who she says. When she requested to be reimbursed for the unused training days that she purchased she was advised by under contract they can't reimburse but can do virtual training sessions (solid idea for someone who has their own gym) or extending the expiration on the sessions. The only issue here is that her trainer that she specifically wanted to train with is no longer there. This has been explained to them as well and still replied with a generic repeated response. Based on the global pandemic you would think the gym might have some type compassion for their customers. However, greed rears it's ugly head and they continue to decline her request. Hopefully people will see the hidden red flags for this gym as they will sneakily pull money from your pockets. I was going to let the whole increasing my membership thing slide, however after witnessing how you treated my wife I am going to go to the BBB and the attorney general and also review every avenue of review for this gym. My wife has also sent a complaint to the BBB. Being a veteran and extremely prideful I don't give up until I felt like i've made a mark. Good luck NRG.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible company. I wanted to cancell after covid cases increased. I have an autoimmune disease so it is more dangerous for me. After I asked they said I needed a doctor's note, once I gave them one they said it wasn't sufficient....this is outrageous

Experiencia negativa: OK Buyer Beware of signing up with this club. My husband is trying to cancel his membership-he has honored his contract for a year- you need to send in so much paperwork to another company ABC financial then you need to have NRG send in paperwork and then they need proof of everything. He has been trying to cancel for a month and it has been quite a process. So really think hard because getting out of this contract requires you to give up your first born to cancel but it requires just a signature to join. Wish us luck

Experiencia negativa: While I was able, this gym was great. It is beautiful, had wonderful classes was a happy place for sure. The business side of this place is another story. I recently was injured at work. I thought things were a bit funny after I signed up with this gym promotion and was told by the account manager to “just click through”. I have in an e-mail well within my grounds to cancel the “contract” I would have to cancel if this was not adjusted. It was not adjusted in the contract. I am suffering from a work injury and even with a written Drs note (stating to indefinitely abstain from gym activity) I am being asked for more documentation stating that I am disabled. Not only are these people apparently disloyal to their word, but make you jump through hoops to cancel their contract even when advised to do so due to medical conditions. A word of caution as great as this gym seems who is running it and do they care about your well-being at all? I have been ignored, and treated as a dollar sign and this is the last thing I want to deal with while out on a serious work injury.

Experiencia fantástica: I walked into the Mansfield NRG Lab a year ago today knowing I had to make a big change in my life. I was physically weak and mentally broken. A friend who comes regularly for the yoga had recommended this gym. I got a tour from Phil and signed up that day. There was a membership deal going on and I used the money I saved to invest in some personal training sessions. A few days later I had an orientation session with Derek. I ended up training for 9 months with him and he has done an amazing job of pushing me toward my limits and helping me reach the goals I set for myself. In addition to the main floor area, I've taken full advantage of the classes offered. My favorite is Amp'd on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Through the classes, I've made a bunch of friends and even done some OCRs with some of them. My kids come and play with their friends on Saturday mornings in the gym daycare and sometimes we grab a smoothie on the way out. This gym helped change my life and I'm so happy to be part of the community they've created.

Experiencia fantástica: Had such a great experience with this gym. Very high end. They provide you with free towels, shampoo and conditioner for showering. The equipment is very fresh and well kept. It’s a very welcoming atmosphere even for the non regular gym go-er. I was warmly welcomed by the staff the minute I entered the door. I would like to thank the general manager Phillip for personally making sure I had everything I needed and was well taken care of. Also, Mary from the front desk for assisting in making my experience such a pleasant one at this gym.

Regardless if you're a beginner or have always been active, NRG Lab has the range of equipment and knowledgeable trainers to help you reach your goals. The staff is friendly, the facility is always clean and there is an excellent cafe/ fuel station to reward you at the end of your visit. I would highly recommend NRG lab to everyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I love NRG! I’ve never been an athlete and I have never been an avid gym member. Most places I’ve been a member of have not offered anything outstanding to keep me there very long. NRG is completely different from the gyms I’ve been to before. The facility is large, clean, and beautiful. The fact that I could walk in, buy trendy workout gear, get a great workout with the equipment and classes, shower in a more beautiful locker room than I’ve ever seen, get a massage, and leave with a protein shake all in one place is truly incredible. I joined NRG in January of this year and along with much better eating habits (which they can help you with, too) I’ve been able to lose and keep off about 40 pounds. I’m 26 and have never felt so great about my body and health in my life. I love seeing the friendly faces who know my name every day I come in to NRG- it’s what keeps me coming back and I have no intention of leaving any time soon!

Experiencia fantástica: NRG is BY FAR the best gym I have belonged to. I have been with them for almost two years now and do not regret it a bit. There are 3 main things I love about this gym. 1- Friendly staff who actually can remember your name and make recommendations here and there to maximize your goals and experience 2- CLEANLINESS. The place is CLEAN. I have belonged to about 6 gyms over the past 10 years and this gym is the cleanest by far. The Club understands the need for keeping a healthy shop and spends money on staff to keep the place clean not only for the appearance but for safety/health reasons as well. It’s not uncommon to see staff actually steam cleaning the showers a few times a day to actually sterilize them to keep everyone healthy. You also won’t find the typical “gym dust” on the nooks and crannies of any of their equipment. Again, the cleanest I have seen. 3- STEAMROOM. The steamroom is a great way to unwind and relax after a workout while keeping your heart rate up and sweating which cleans out your pours and keeps your skin healthy amongst tons of other benefits. Great club and some may say it’s more expensive than other clubs in the area but you get what you pay for and if you take your workouts and health seriously, the cost is minimal given their equipment, amenities and cleanliness. A+++ and no, I’m not staff nor was asked to write a review. I’m just a happy member that goes there 4-5 days a week. Go and try it out for a day or two and you will join!

Experiencia fantástica: I love the atmosphere here. Within two months I lost 27 pounds and found my passion for working out again. This was due to Laura doing an excellent job at management and keeping the place running top notch. Everything is very clean and the equipment is top of the line. Other facilities in the area should learn from this facility because this place makes those places look like trash. The trainers here actually have talent and are educated unlike the trainers elsewhere.

Whether you need a facial, laser, waxing, lash enhancements, spray tans (which me and my husband loved for our Florida vacation), makeup app & more...Angela Zatzos from the spa is amazing!!! They also have wonderful massage therapist as well.

I have been going to gyms for years and in the end you usually get what you pay for without a doubt. $10 or $20 a month gyms are great if you just want access to aged equipment, maybe you know everything you need to know. However, if you want to go into a gym where you goals are understood, programs are packaged and your needs are the goal, this is the place. In addition, such a variation in workout options, I don’t think boredom is a problem and plateau’s also not a problem. Last but not least, clean facility, service top notch and a positive can do attitude from the patrons, the staff and the ownership!

The trainers are phenomenal and there are so many class choices. It has become such a great community with so many supportive and welcoming members. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they keep the gym and the locker room amazingly clean. Love this gym!
