Dr. Cope is a Pinellas County native, but after high school, he left for Ohio for his BA degree in Chemistry at Oberlin College. He then returned to Florida for his M.D. degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Cope took his Internship in Straight Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami after which he joined the U.S. Navy Medical Corps for two years as a Medical Officer. Dr. Cope was stationed at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station for a year, where he served as Medical Officer and Executive Officer.
After returning from “The Ice,” Dr. Cope worked in general medicine at the VA hospital in Durham, NC. He then began his Residency at Duke University.
Dr. Cope returned to Florida to join his family’s medical practice. The surgical arm of the practice emphasized surgery, but in accordance with his medical background, Dr. Cope always paid extra attention to the “whole patient” including weight loss and hormone replacement therapy.
Growing up, Jimmy remembers his mother stressing the importance of eating healthy. But there was always so much confusion on what “healthy eating” really meant. Jimmy spent years trying to figure out what works best for him. Over a decade ago, I realized that I had a passion for helping others breakthrough all the confusion as well. By working together, Jimmy helps his clients figure out what works best for them to reach their health goals. I wanted someone to help me navigate how to gain and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have been through other nutritional counseling before. I found the Nuviva program to be much more realistic.
I travel a lot, both domestically and internationally. I found that the food choices I was guided towards were easier for me to maintain while I am on the road, living out of hotels and traveling.
One of the benefits I wasn’t expecting was that through proper nutrition I was able to get off the statins I was taking for cholesterol, at my doctor’s recommendation. He’s quite pleased with my blood work and quite excited to keep me on the program.
I had a lot of medical issues and all of these issues were traced back to me being so overweight. I was in my early twenties and decided it was time for change.
I am a teacher and I work with small kids. I found myself tired all the time and not able to keep up with the kids. I can do my job in a way I never thought I could before.
The team at Nuviva was so supportive. I loved the accountability. I loved the support. I loved being able to set a goal for myself and just take it week by week. We’d aim for three to four pounds a week and I didn’t feel the pressure of trying to lose 100 pounds all at once. Without the support from the Nuviva team, I don’t think I would have been able to do it.

1 year ago Experiencia positiva: Overall, not bad. Watch out for how they bill you BEFORE your appointment. Basically what they do here is give you shots that are supposed to reduce your hunger. $95 per shot, $55 to talk to a nutritionist for advice. Across the parking lot they have another office that does weird stuff like testosterone or feminine stuff. Very friendly staff. They are located inside this odd-looking black building and there's no overhead sign with their business name. (The other photos on this page are either old or wrong.) The parking lot is rather crammed. One issue is you can't verify anything. They do not post licenses or credentials and they have no business cards. And there's no way to verify the shot they give aren't watered down.
Hi Rajik, we appreciate your feedback on the ongoing major renovations that have been done to the buildings here. As you noted, we do not have signs above the door because we are not legally able to. That's why we have signage on the door, next to the door and we have a replacement monument sign on the way :) The building across the parking lot has one of the top hormone clinics & medspas in Tampa. Not sure what is weird about that. I'm sorry you missed our licenses and medical director's info that is located in the reception area. We don't appreciate that you are insinuating that we might be watering down our medications when we bring the vial into the room and pull the medication in front of our patients so they can see everything. On top of that, our patients get incredible results and I am sure they can tell you the medications and the program work great! We take pride in providing the most value of ANY weight loss program in Tampa. In fact, our program has won best weight loss clinic in Tampa 4 years in a row and we have a lot more program options than what you referenced. I always prided myself in being able to drop weight but once I hit menopause (and found out I had a thyroid issue) it was very difficult. I reached out to them because I just couldn't get my body to cooperate and I had a special trip coming up. I told them I was hoping to lose 20 lbs, they said we can help you. Honestly, I didn't Believe it, 20 lbs in 5-6 weeks?! I'VE LOST THAT AND MORE!!!!❤️☺️❤️☺️. I can't say enough about their program and the staff. Supportive, energetic, understanding and available by text if you have any questions! My friends, in Miami and NJ went on the injections and had varying levels of success(no guidance or coaching). My weight would go down but then come right back. Nuviva has been different… the staff if very knowledgeable and help with my areas of difficulty. All the weight I have lost I have kept off. 2 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I have spent years trying to make lifestyle changes to improve my health, and in just a few months, I’ve made more progress with Nuviva than I had in the previous decade. I have been stuck at around 225-230 pounds since 2014, and within the next week I will fall below 200 pounds for the first time since well before then. I cannot recommend this place enough if you struggle with weight and don’t know where to go.

Liz is also very encouraging and has great advice on how to utilize the tools you are given for weight loss as well as any comment, questions or concerns. The MAs were also super friendly and helpful. I also struggled with an eating disorder in the past and they helped me navigate my weight loss without exasperating it or risking a relapse. Also Joe was very helpful, he allow me to take home a month supply instead of a week because due to my job I wasn’t able to go weekly. 2 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I love this place. Truly God sent. As I had been experiencing much health issues and needed to doing something about it ASAP. I am on my 3rd injection and increased dose I have seen much appetite loss, fat loss, energy, focus, and good sleep. My blood pressure is down and I have lost 6 pounds. Kudos to Nuviva and the people that work there. Joe, Elandra, Marissa, Victoria, Cameron. You all rock! I can't wait to see my weight loss goal met and living a better quality of life. Then I will work on getting Hormone Therapy for my menopause.

The program offers a variety of options, so it was very individualized to suit my needs. Cameron and the staff take the time to explain everything in detail. They are extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and supportive; and there was no pushing of products. They are also flexible in scheduling, which worked out well for me, as my schedule is busy and sometimes unpredictable. I am very happy with my results so far and would recommend this program to anyone trying to lose weight.

3 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I have working with Nuviva Medical weight lost clinic for 4 months and I have lost 23 pounds. The staff is so helpful, nice and understanding. They take the time to explain everything and help you out on your weight loss journey. They are teaching me how to read labels on food and what food choices are best for me.

3 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I just started with Nuviva about 3 weeks ago. I had tried almost everything else to lose weight with no long term success or acceptable weight loss. So far, only 3 weeks in, I’ve lost almost 10 pounds. I have many more to go but the Tampa Nuviva clinic will help me get there. The text chain support is great and the staff really care. I wish I had tried this place years ago.

The staff and Cameron are wonderful and they are willing to work with you to achieve whatever your weight loss goals are - it can be as small as a few stubborn pounds! 3 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I was skeptical about a weight loss clinic but was desperate after gaining during the pandemic and it was not coming off. Cameron and crew are very knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to answer any questions. I am averaging a weight loss of 1 pound per week but am confident I can continue with this due to what i have learned. I would not hesitate to recommend Nuviva to anyone. Thank you all!

3 years ago Experiencia fantástica: So about 3 weeks ago I brought my wife here to do her lip fillers, and I noticed they had the nuviva weight loss program , and I was very interested in this program I been struggling to get my weight down for the past 2 years, anyways I set up a free consultation with Cameron and decided to start the program. Now that was the best decision I have made because I feel amazing it has only been one week but I have so much more energy I am sleeping better, waking up earlier then usual full of energy no tiredness or anything. Cameron has been amazing he sends me recipes to try and and checks on me every couple days, my family has seen a huge difference not only in my weight loss but they see ny happiness coming back. I feel amazing and can not thank them enough! Thanks you for everything !! I feel like me again !!

Cameron assured me they could help and they have. I have lost 8 pounds so far and I can tell my energy level is up. Everyone in the office is extremely helpful and friendly.
