Experiencia negativa: Writing this review so potential clients will have awareness of costs they may incur at Blue Sky and to share that I wish I had explored other, less expensive, options for compounded semaglutide prior to going to Blue Sky. Please learn from my expensive mistake: My first visit to Blue Sky in GSO was October 30, 2024. In less than 2 months I have paid $1401 ($300 in copays + $180 for the lowest dose of compounded semaglutide + $921 billed for visits with either 1. “counselors” who are very nice, but do nothing more than provide handouts or 2. a very brief encounter with a NP). The staff [sans one LPN(?)] are nice enough. The environment is untidy. However, in fairness to the office, I look at healthcare environments through the critical lens of an infection prevention/patient safety specialist. I’ll end on this admittedly petty note, the music that is blared in the lobby is grating.

Experiencia negativa: Another disappointed I was prescribed a medication told I would get approval for it and it was denied. They won't help me file a appeal to get it approved even though my insurance would approve it the next time mote than likely. Other than that the providers have been great, friendly staff good feel place.

Experiencia positiva: Overall I am enjoying my experience as a client but I feel there is so much miscommunication amongst staff I have to deduct some stars. 1. Prior authorization problems. I informed my provider (well my nutritionist? Never actually saw the provider the day the medicine was prescribed.) that my insurance would cover this med with a PA. They inform me they have sent it in. They did not. I have to call my insurance, and my pharmacy, when it all could’ve been avoided if they would’ve just sent in the PA initially. The drug that got sent in first was denied. No problem. Insurance is asking I try something else first. I fall back, and it’s the same story “we already sent in the PA.” Well clearly not because my pharmacy and insurance do not have it. Then, from my understanding, my insurance tries to get the drug approved without the PA. I am told by insurance it is then approved, I go to pick it up and the pharmacist spends an hour on the phone with insurance only to find out whatever PA did get filled out was done erroneously. Next day, I call doctor. PA gets sent. Drug gets approved, and someone finally apologizes for the miscommunication (shoutout to Passion I believe her name was the only person who has said sorry throughout the whole process and I felt like they meant it) Also, your provider and nutritionist are not very communicative over the apps. Which is fine I suppose but I’m not sure how often they are supposed to check in about your progress so I feel oddly left in the dark. Additionally. I was told to meet with them once a week, but they were too booked up so I had to wait two weeks to see them again for my next follow up. Pros for me are the speed at which I was initially scheduled and how thorough Leslie was at my consult. My nutrition “expert” I believe she’s called is kind and does have my best interests at heart. They just seem to be having some breakdowns in communication.

The entire staff that I have encountered are open and friendly, and all seem to take a genuine interest in each person that comes in. The coaching staff take the necessary time to hear, answer lots of questions, and craft my weight loss program that meets my unique needs. Only a couple of negatives: Their proprietary app doesn't work well. They acknowledge that and l use another right now. The facility isn't the best with wooden floors and space that is awkward. My evaluation will be more valid after I've been with the program for several months. Stay tuned ..

I mean, it nothing happens overnight, but it's nice to have a plan based on lab work and not just guess work. The nurse that I usually have is genuinely nice, so I have no complaints.

Experiencia negativa: Had issues with my prescriptions the nurse was no help and said she can’t control insurance. However it wasn’t an insurance issue it was how she called it in. Just seems clueless when it comes to medical. So I called my regular doctor and she called it in with no issues. My doctor who was there left (Kas) not sure I will be back, just was very frustrating. Also had to wait almost 2 weeks to get it from them and 2 hours from my doctor. Also the pharmacy said they called multiple times to the dr and no return call.

Experiencia negativa: BLUE SKY MD IS NOT FOLLOWING DRUG MANUFACTURERS PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES and I will be reporting them to the FTC, BBB, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly directly. Unless you are a little sheep that is happy to be hearded around by a small minded shepherd, DO NOT go here for GLP-1 weight loss treatment!!!! I went here because my insurance recently added coverage for these drugs and I told the person this was my purpose over the phone. Once I was $1500 in, they flat out REFUSED to write me a prescription, citing that for 13 weeks I had to pay $30 a week out of pocket (PLUS the actual visit = $200!!) for THEIR compounded version of the medication. They straight up LIED to get me hooked into the program and then started dropping "policy" bombshells that were lacking in merit. Halfway through the program they dropped yet another bombshell by REFUSING to adhere to the regular dosing schedule as recommended by the drug manufacturers - the exact schedule widely practiced by other legit companies who are providing compounded medications. Under their "policies" you will NEVER be allowed to reach the therapeutic doses in which most people saw weight loss in the clinical trials. That's right - "Dr." LaMond knows better than Novo Nordisk themselves (the ACTUAL drug manufacturer, having decades of research and development under their belt)!! Please. You are administering MEDICATION which is a highly individual process that varies greatly from individual to individual - this can not happen behind a single set policy. Your research of this drug is seriously lacking and you should not be allowed to use your shady business practices in front of actual doctoring - HOW MANY ETHICS VIOLATIONS ARE HAPPENING HERE?! The best part? I used my app like a good little patient to contact their NP as well as Dr. LaMond himself to attempt to receive help regarding the issues I was having and WEEKS have passed with not one response. Wow. I quickly found another option for GLP-1 success and will never look back!! I hope this can save another person from the stress and horror that is BlueSky MD. Happy to share helpful resources as well - just ask!

They are more interested in billing your insurance than figuring out how to help you.

Experiencia positiva: I have been for 91 weeks as of today. I have made great progress and feel so much better. With 2 knee replacements, neck fusion and lower back fusion getting the weight off has been great. Caitlin in the Greensboro office is a great asset to Blue Sky. She listens and truly cares. Also another associate, Passion, makes you feel so comfortable and answers any questions she can, and if she can't she will find the answer from another associate. I do have one issue, the rewards! I get so many that cannot be used in Greensboro. Is there anyway the rewards can relate to the Greensboro office only. Over my 91 weeks I have sent approximately 9 friends that are still actively going.... even my daughter. I look foward to going weekly but I also look just a forward to getting rewards. Thanks. I have not had a single issue since starting my journey there over three months ago, down 12 lbs and feeling healthier everyday! I would highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: My first appointment for hrt went great. There were no issues with anything. I came back in for my 2nd out of all my hrt meds. I was told my prescriptions would be called in that day. I never heard anything and reached out the next day and was told they’d be called in again. Never heard anything that day. Reached out the next day 2xs,prescriptions were never called in. I’m on my fourth day without hrt meds….this is totally ridiculous and unacceptable as a provider to leave your patient without their meds! Talk about messing your hormones up and this place is supposed to help and specialize in HRT therapy smh……

Experiencia negativa: I don’t understand the hype with this place Definitely deserves a 0 stars. I felt rushed with my first appointments. Where the person you are seeing will assume that the person you have seen prior have explained the process . It’s very busy and crowded . You can never take your time at checkout to schedule appointments as there is always someone waiting to check out as well . No privacy at the counter as the waiting room is very small and everyone can hear. The provider will tell you to come back every week , but then they are booked for the next three weeks . There are no appointments, and you can’t stand there and take your time to book ahead because others are waiting I had my first injection last week . I had side effects that I was concerned about . I called 4 times , I am being transferred to the nurse’s counter with no luck , goes to VM . I leave a VM and then no luck , they won’t reach back out . I went through messaging , all I get is “ your message was sent at a high priority “ but no calls back . It’s really frustrating. I think it’s time to stop accepting new patients and focus on the ones you have . Definitely not a pleasant experience at all I would not recommend, probably online options are cheaper and better if you know what you are doing

Experiencia positiva: I am beginning the process to become a patient. So far I have 2 yellow flags that are causing me concern. I will update my review once I have my initial appointment. Hopefully things go better. 1st issue - I submitted an appointment request, got a text confirming it along with a link for new patient. Problem was it was a link to the "female new patient form". I called and the person didn't show me as having an appointment or in their system. We finally discovered that the appointment system isn't really run by blue sky and the text I got wasn't really from blue sky. 2nd issue - After being talked through where to find the "new patient form" on the website I began filling it out. About 25 questions in I started to see multiple spelling errors on the questions. I am a horrible speller so me seeing them means they are glaring. NOTE - The misspelling are on the "Online form". I just looked at the PDF version and the mistakes are not there. Wish me luck.

Experiencia negativa: I was told my insurance would cover it except the hormones. Paid for those it of pocket. Then I get a statement for what the insurance didn't cover. I immediately paid that bill and then received 2 more notices of the amount due. Told again I had a balance at my next visit. My account doesn't show a payment or a new invoice. Talked to billing, it didn't update but once a month. You are charged every time you go in there for things the insurance didn't cover. You get blood work done and will be billed, go in 2 days later for the results and will be billed. Finally, Booking just told me the amount for self pay would have been less than what I'm paying with co pay on my insurance. I'm also sceptical that of it really worked, why doesn't the staff partake in it.

She left the practice for a year or so, but came back and I for one am so glad she did. I drive over an hour to get my hormone pellet and it is worth every minute and every dollar spent to get it!! It has made a world of difference in my mood, my night sweats, my bones, my quality of life!! And thank goodness for Jennifer who explains everything about hormone levels that helps immensely with the process. If you're on the fence about the hormone pellet because it's too expensive, get off the fence and do it!! It will change your life!!

Experiencia fantástica: I’m a current patient at Blue Sky, MD in the Greensboro, NC location. From the time you walk in the door until the time you leave everyone is always so courteous and kind. I come here for my hormone replacement therapy and I have to tell you I would never go anywhere else. Not only are the staff amazing but so are the physicians. And when it comes to have my lab work I can honestly say the lab techs make me feel so comfortable. In fact, I’ve always had a huge fear of blood draws and I can sit in the lab chair with no issues. That’s a pretty big deal for me! My physician, Traci Bast is absolutely phenomenal. She’s so kind and down to earth and always makes me feel comfortable and cared for. And not to mention the HRT has absolutely improved my quality of life. No more hot flashes for me. I’d highly recommend this location to anyone who’s considering hormone replacement therapy. 10 out of 10!

Everyone there is incredibly kind, caring, and positive! From the start they let me know that they would be there for me every step of the way, and they have been. I love the fact that everything is tailored to my individual health and nutrition needs based on testing of my hormone levels and metabolism. I have struggled with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome along with other health issues for many years. The pain and fatigue I was experiencing led to a more sedentary life and weight gain. After nine weeks with Blue Sky’s HRT and nutrition counseling I am seeing positive differences in my health. I have started losing weight, but more importantly the level of pain and fatigue has decreased dramatically. I am able to function better on a daily basis and am better able to incorporate exercise into my life once again. Experiencia negativa: I thought everything was great at first. But after meeting with the nurse it went down hill. She really never explained why she was putting me on these meds, what side effects I would have. So when I picked up my prescriptions she also added in an appetite suppressant. I had no clue I was getting this so when I looked it up it’s not good to take with ssri. I already have panic attacks so her putting me on this would have made it worse. But according to her she has been prescribing this for years. I never took them and she seemed to not want to help me after that. Any concerns I had she brushed them off or was just rude in emails. Now I keep getting so many bills from them and I’ll have been there twice. Seems off right? Why am I getting billed so many times for labs and I had them done once So my suggestion is to definitely find something else because they also won’t refill your prescriptions but put you on them! It’s the worse experience I’ve ever had! Oh and her office was disgusting, food everywhere and not professional.

Experiencia fantástica: I have attended Blue Sky, Greensboro office for a few weeks now. From the beginning of my first appointment, to weekly sessions, they have been friendly, helpful, thorough, and very knowledgeable about my goals. I appreciate the support of the staff. I feel accountable for my results, without being judged in this journey. When my husband found out that I was going to Blue Sky I could tell he was skeptical and thinking they were out to make money. However, he stated the other day that he believes that the support is working and how nice I was looking. I quickly informed him about the support they have for men as well. I have not reached my goal yet, and sometimes I am challenged by life. Nevertheless, I am happy that I chose Blue Sky to help me through this process.

Experiencia negativa: Initially, I was very excited to find that this medspa offers compounded semaglutide (wegovy). My initial visit went just fine and so did my follow up. They give you the option of paying 599.00 up front for a 13 week supply, and having the meds shipped to your house, and self administer. Or, you can pay around 39.99 per weekly injection, and have it administered at the office. Well with my insurance, it would cost a 25.00 co pay per visit plus the cost of the meds, so it made more sense for me to opt for the 599.00 administer at home option. This is where the trouble started. They only sent me 10 syringes, even though I paid up front for 13 weeks. Initially they explained that I could keep a weekly food diary and check in on the app to track my progress. Around week 7 I called and explained that I was shorted 3 syringes and I would need them. They immediately refused to give me my supplies bc they stated that I had not been into the office. After explaining that they cannot withhold product One bc I had already paid for it and two bc I did not agree to a weekly visit. They called in a Rx for the syringes to a local pharmacy. However, it was the wrong size. The pharmacy called to correct the error and they not only refused, they told the pharmacy my private information regarding my follow up appointments in office. Well even the pharmacist thought this was very strange. She helped me find the syringes I needed, and with no help from Blue Sky, I was able to finish my vile. Be warned this place does have the compounded semaglutide. However, the program they offer is a money grab, they want to file your insurance as much as possible, so they ask you to come in weekly for absolutely no reason other than to get more money out of you. I would avoid it if at all possible. If you decide to move forward and do not want to pay 39.99 plus whatever your co-pay is, get the full 13 week supply up front and make them give you all 13 syringes at that time. That's the only way it makes sense financially.
