Experiencia negativa: The facility is clean and appears well maintained. However, during my brief time as a patient at Triborough GI Staten Island, I encountered two significant HIPAA violations. First, on November 8, 2024, while waiting in Room 1, I overheard a staff member discussing another patient's Protected Health Information (PHI) in Room 0 (lab room), including their name, specific health conditions, and medical instructions. For example, I could clearly hear details such as patients’ name, symptoms (such as diarrhea), the need for a stool sample, and related instructions. There was no legitimate reason for me to be exposed to this information. This occurred to the office's policy (as relayed to me by their staff member) to keep the lab room door open. Despite raising privacy concerns when I myself was in the lab room, the employee dismissed them and refused to close the door, reflecting inadequate HIPAA training and total disregard for patient confidentiality or patient concerns. Second, on November 21, 2024, when I called to request a copy of my bloodwork, their staff informed me that Triborough GI requires in-person visits to access medical records, effectively denying me access to my bloodwork since I am unable to readily go in person. This policy violates federal HIPAA regulations ensuring patient access to their PHI. I requested to speak to a manager and no one ever called me back. It is clear to me this facility does not have the best interests of patients in mind.

Experiencia negativa: After waiting more than an hour for Dr. Chen to finish her lunch, i explained to her my serious pain that felt like a heart attack and she scheduled me for an endoscopy 2 months from my initial appointment. That night i ended up in the hospital with a septic gallbladder, gallstones obstructing my bile duct and a humongous ulcer. Don’t come here unless you want to end up in the hospital anyway.

They are exceptional at what they do as well as very warm, caring, and attentive. The front desk is also extremely helpful with anything and everything. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Experiencia negativa: If I can give 0 stars I would!!! I had gallbladder stones I could not eat I lost 70 lbs in the matter of 5 months. But do you think they diagnosed me??? No!!! It took me moving to NC to actually get diagnosed and have surgery! Terrible doctors !!!!

She was very defensive the whole time, she was just talking at me and didn't take time to even listen to what my symptoms were. I felt like i was listening to her talk the whole time. She made me feel like it's my fault that i even walked into the clinic that day.

He is able to calm down the patient’s fears and walked him through the technicalities of the procedure in view, demonstrating competency and need. Experiencia negativa: Worst office. Waited over an hour to see the doctor for three minutes. They also never called me to tell me my results. I called several days in a row. When I actually got a phone call to say “everything is fine”, I get a bill for co-pay. What for? I did not see the doctor and was not aware that I would have to pay for a phone call. They also take forever with test results.

My insurance told me the referral was not submitted properly and the Triborough office does nothing to improve it.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible! I will never ever go back or recommend anyone to go to your clinic . I came there 15 minutes early so I can do the paper work and my insurance cards to be scanned . On you sign in sheet it asked if it was my first time ,I check it that it was ! I sat there for 45 minutes before any one said anything to me . And when they did say something they gave me a clip board to fill out the information . I responded to them that I walked into the clinic at 2.45 pm to do the paper because my appointment was at 3.00 pm . When I was finally approached after sitting there for 45 minutes I then said I wasn't going to fill out anything . Simple no one was doing there job there accept the nurses . When I came in I wasn't asked for my insurance or anything ! I was told to sit down . I felt totally neglected and uncared for as a client and my first experience with your clinic was terrible and unprofessional. I have worked in hospitals and never seen any to hing quite like this before.sad !

All of the office staff was extremely friendly and the office waiting area is really beautiful and well decorated. So clean and bright.. I was seeing exactly at my appointment time. Dr Chen was wonderful and she helped allay my fears with a lot of things that were going on with me 100% recommend. I felt like she really listened to my concerns and what I was saying which sometimes does not happen with other doctors.

She will put you at ease, with a friendly smile, & make you feel like you are well taken care of. Clean office space upstairs ( elevator is available ). Free parking lot is behind the building or you can do street parking. If it's your first visit / consultation, you will need to fill out 3 forms, so probably best to arrive a few minutes earlier than your appointment time. I would recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: I went in and the girl that was supposed to do my blood work had no gloves on and she poked me got no blood pulled it out and poked herself with the same exact needle now she’s bleeding continuing to put my bandages on with blood on it and lied and said she poked herself with the other side went and told the nurse practitioner and now they come asking me my personal medical history like if I have hepatitis or hiv or other medical problems talking about sometimes that happens it’s a osha violation and a hippa law was broken

Great at suggesting best diet, lifestyle & meds to fit your specific need. I had my colonoscopy yesterday and the experience was 9/10!!! The nurse, desk person were both wonderful! The place is so sanitary and clean! After the procedure, I woke up gently on my own and saw that a light snack and apple juice bottle were there which really was such a comfort! The only reason I took away one star was the female anesthesiologist didn’t introduce herself so I had to ask her if she was the anesthesiologist. She seemed happy to be ahead of schedule (Saturday) asking others if remaining patients had done their paperwork and were present in the building (last procedures of the day) in addition, she inserted the little tube on top of my hand, yet didn’t talk through explaining what she was doing, only said “make a fist,” or giving that extra bedside manner. She proceeded to insert and the pain became sharp and deep.(vein) as I was stating why is it hurting like this, she proceeded to begin the propanol and told me it was the propanol why I felt that. I want to be fair and say my last procedure in late 2022, that anesthesiologist was amazing and the doctor was also there right before I went under The one yesterday, she did do an incredible job with the dosing of the anesthesia, clinically I give her 10/10 but she needs to give reassurance what is happening as she is doing it. Her starting the anesthesia without first giving me that heads up was a bit off putting. I absolutely 100% recommend this practice, specifically Dr Alex Brun!! He is the best!! I will absolutely go back and for any and all future procedures.

Experiencia negativa: I’m not sure if it was just a bad day, but my appointment was for 4pm. I arrived at 3:30 to check in. I sat in the waiting room from 3:30 to 5:00 with no explanations and not having anyone come speak to me. I was taken back to the exam room at 5:00 where I then waited until 5:30 to see another face. I wish someone would have seemed a little more rushed since the office appeared pretty empty or that someone would communicate with me why the wait was so long or show some effort in making it appear busy.
