Fantastic experience: Very good doctor for kids allergies and asthma. Healed my kids.

Negative experience: This past year I had seen Dr. Lacava for three appointments to address health issues due to mold/biotoxin toxicity illness. After my second appt. I was prescribed 12 different supplements to take which was both questioned and ridiculed by my PCP & Functional Medicine Doctor I signed up with shortly after my third appointment with Dr. Lacava. Also when I had a tick bite that was not confirmed to have lyme his solution was to prescribe 600mg of Doxycycline to take daily for 30 days consecutively described as my PCP as the "nuclear option" which he was glad to find out I consulted with him first about this. Lastly we had discussed in my second appt. that he would help me with FMLA paperwork if I was not feeling better by our third appt. I reluctantly went to the third because of the cost and I had not made any progress since the second in the hopes he would keep his word, which at the end of the third he said he could not be "burdened by the paperwork" and to ask my PCP. During this appointment I was informed that I was not taking the correct amount of multivitamins he prescribed which was the sole reason I was not recovering and the other 11 prescribed supplements were ineffective without the multi vitamins. He looked me strait in the face and told me "You just don't want to get better", because I was not taking the correct amount of vitamins, regardless of the thousands of dollars spent on testing and treatment with him I clearly just did not want to get better. I've heard at one time he prescribed adequate care but he has fallen short of his ability as a provider. Don't waste your time, money, or effort here. He should not be trusted with anyone's health.

Fantastic experience: Dr LaCava is amazing! After years of suffering and no answers from my other doctors, he figured it out. It’s been a long journey, and I’m forever grateful to him! His staff is fantastic and feel like family.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lacava saved my life! It took me 16 years to find a Doctor to take my Lyme disease and co infections seriously. I was denied over and over, he was the only doctor to take me seriously.

Negative experience: Today, October 26, 2020, I sent my 18 year old daughter to visit Dr. LaCava. I was a former patient of his and made the appt. for her. My daughter came back from her appt. crying. She is suffering from anxiety and depression. Dr. LaCava told her "she will never get better" and told her to take vitamins. I am going to report him to the authorities, this was very upsetting for me and my daughter. Why would he bully her? He should know better!

Fantastic experience: Dear Dr. LaCava and Staff - This message/review is just about 5 months overdue. I saw Dr. LaCava after struggling with a strange set of symptoms for the better part of a year. I saw almost a dozen doctors...from GPs, to an ER doc, urgent care docs, two neurologists, two chiropractors...and no one could tell me what was wrong. Most told me I had a clean bill of health or it was just anxiety. I am not one to complain about feeling ill unless I really feel terrible. I am a health nut, I eat well, and I'm very active...and I am 32. Finally! A doctor not only *believed* me, but took the time to listen to me. His office took a full, detailed medical and nutritional history on me (who does that these days). The two appointments I had covered the span of a couple hours +, not the rushed, in-and-out, 15 minute appointments I had become accustomed to. Not only was I listened to, but there was genuine concern for my well being. They ordered a slew of tests and those came back with further information on what was going on with me. He recommended a treatment plan, and gave me the tools I needed to take control over my health. A couple months into the plan, coupled with things I was doing on my own now that I had a proper diagnosis, I started to feel better. As I'm writing this, I can say I am 99% symptom free. I am so grateful for the compassion from Dr. L and his entire staff. The reason you haven't heard from me is, well, I'm feeling good! THANK YOU!!!
