Ogden Clinic Specialty Center at McKay-Dee Hospital

Negative experience: I will NEVER be using Ogden clinic again. My first doctor I had for my pregnancy was Dr Vegh. Who said the most out of pocket rude comments to me ever. She kept saying my cervix is like an old trampoline because it’s my third pregnancy (I’m not even 30) I had bleeding early in my first trimester which turned out to be a small hemorrhage but I was given no advice or instructions how to deal with it. (After speaking with a few of her other patients, this is a common practice of hers and it’s dangerous!!) And when the scale kept going down instead of up as I progressed through my pregnancy, I voiced my concerns and all she had to say was “Well most women have weight to lose before they get pregnant”…. Are you kidding me?! And when I struggled with immense pelvic girdle pain to the point I could barely walk or function she offered no help or advice, no referral to a PT. Just said “it gets worse with everything pregnancy” So after all that, I had had it and asked for a new doctor and I started seeing Dr Lammi, who was a breath of fresh air and took my concerns seriously and referred me to the help I needed. And it turned out I had gestational hypertension and Vegh never said ANYTHING about it. Lammi said it would be best for me to deliver at 37 weeks and thank goodness I did because my baby was almost 8lbs. My only issue with Lammi was when my stitches didn’t dissolve at all and I needed to have them removed in office and I received no pain management. There had been so much trauma down there after my delivery and to have my stitches taken out by hand was horrendous. I felt everything. I cried. I screamed. It was terrible. I wish they would have offered me SOMETHING. But women’s pain is never really taken seriously is it? Aside from the healthcare I received, the billing has been less than adequate. I paid off everything back in May. My account has been zero for months and I got a notice in the mail that I was sent to collections for some meager amount from March. I have no record of any statement, no final notices, nothing on my portal. No reason for this. So I called the billing department, waited on hold for 23 minutes only to be hung up on. Lovely. But that’s what happens when a clinic outsources their calls to a call center. I am less than impressed with their services. Especially their call center. I’ve call at 8:03AM after they open at 8AM, I’m 3rd in line and I still have to leave a message for NO ONE to get back to me? Fabulous. Don’t come here. Go anywhere else for the sake of your health and sanity.

Negative experience: I had a horrible experience with this office and I wasn’t even seen. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my 11:00 a.m. appt because I was told I HAD to arrive 15 minutes early. While checking in, I was not once informed that the NP was running behind. After almost 45 minutes (30 min past my appt time) of sitting there with absolutely zero communication or updates-as I was trying to be patient and understanding-I asked the check in desk for an update. I was THEN informed the NP was running 30 min behind. I thought “okay, I should be called back any minute”. On a side note, I have no idea how, that early in the day, they could be that far behind. 15 minutes later-after an hour of sitting in the waiting room and 45 minutes PAST my appointment time-I approached the desk and asked if I could cancel. I have a collapsed disc in my back so, after sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, I was in extreme pain. I was met with an almost relieved, extremely unapologetic front desk staff. I even overheard a woman, arriving 15 min past MY appt time, saying she was there to see the same NP I had an appt with. She was taken back to a room within a few minutes. I guess, as a GYN patient and not an OB patient, I have no value to this clinic. Very frustrating and, honestly, disheartening.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and service!!! I went in for my big ultrasound today and had a great experience. Staff is super friendly & makes you feel comfortable!

Fantastic experience: My favorite and best OB of all time will always be Dr. Palmer. He is dedicated to his work, loves what he does, and cares deeply about his patients. He is genuinely excellent, as is his team. The other physicians are also excellent.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Dr. Amber Vegh as my ob/gyn for a short time I was looking forward to a 9 month long relationship unfortunately that didn't happen, I miscarried at 8w5d. It was pretty rough... When I first met with her she was very caring, understanding, non judgemental, which I was very scared of because I'm in my 40s and pregnant. But she made me feel at ease... especially when. We found out I losing my baby. It had been my 3rd loss over the last couple of years. So I was done. Ended up having a d&c and tubal ligation. And she still was so caring, concerned, excellent bed side manner. I only wished the pregnancy went through, but it was I God's hands.. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a very caring , compassionate provider. She gets 5 stars from. Me!

Fantastic experience: Anna Marie Jones is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever seen. She’s kind, respectful, and funny! She made my appointment a breeze. She answered mine and my fiancé’s million questions and had us laughing. She treated me like a human, not just another patient she sees on a daily. Would recommend her a million times over.

Negative experience: As a mom, I'm REALLY concerned. My daughter recently saw a doctor at the Ogden Clinic Women's center. She was given one month of a prescription that she needs to take long term, so I called to see if we could have it refilled. I was asked to give the name of the prescription, but I couldn't remember it offhand, and said it should be in their records. She then wouldn't help me, and told me that parents don't have a right to their children's medical information unless the child signed a medical release to us. My daughter is a minor, I'm happily married to her father, we are both legal guardians, I'm the one who took her to the appointment, paid for it, accept responsibility both medically and financially for my daughter. Yet the doctor, receptionist, etc. have access to her records and parents, legal guardians don't. VERY DISTURBING policy. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Fantastic experience: Staff and Physicians treats every individual as a person they take the time To listen, respond and care about each individual.

Negative experience: Met with Dr. Vegh maybe 2 weeks ago.. Probably my worst experience. I've had better care at planned parenthood. Left super frustrated, I understand if she felt like she couldn't answer why I was having pain.. But maybe running my normal tests that were due ( that I mentioned in my paperwork ) would've eased me.. instead I paid a $60 copay for no tests to be done and be left with many questions. The nurse / front desk that helped me prior were both very professional.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Anna Marie Jones today and she was wonderful. She made me feel at ease and included my fiance when asking me questions and discussing what to expect. She has an awesome bed side manner and I felt comfortable with her.

Fantastic experience: Very nice and friendly. Everyone was so nice and they listened to me. I highly recommend this place for anyone that is having a hard time losing weight.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Vegh is one of the coolest doctors I’ve ever met. She was easy to talk to and wanted to sit down with me and explain my diagnosis so I could fully understand it. She made sure I felt comfortable with my health plan and showed me a great deal of empathy. I left feeling cared for by Dr. Vegh and her staff and look forward to working with them in the future.

Positive experience: I had a good experience with the doctors when I had appointments and when I delivered my first baby, but any time I had an issue such as dehydration from intense nausea and vomiting, or almost passing out, I never received the help I needed. I would be transferred to a triage nurse anytime I called the office with a concern and they would not act helpful. They would tell me to “just keep sipping fluids” and would minimize my real concerns and not offer for me to come in and see a doctor or talk to anyone else. Having already had two pregnancies, I knew the signs of trouble but they treated me like I was overreacting the few times I called. I felt my concerns would be easily fixed with them simply asking a doctor or getting a quick check up, but they never helped me to do so. With my second baby, the nausea and vomiting was so bad at 8 weeks but they wouldn’t see me a couple days earlier than my scheduled appointment the next week. Their only solution was “go to the ER” if it continued. Instead of an easy, cheaper fix by allowing me to come to the clinic for help, they would rather me spend my time and money in the ER. I enjoyed my doctor (Dr. Lammi is awesome) but I did not like the way the office was run when it came to questions or concerns from their pregnant patients when I wasn’t at an appointment.

Fantastic experience: My experience with ogden women's clinic meeting and seeking Sheryl Bingham's professional services for help was an enlightenment! Sheryl was kind understanding and had shown concern for my health issues .. My attendance to the women's clinic was maybe a God send? During my appointment with Sheryl Bingham while accessing my medical portal she asked me how have I been caring for myself having chronic kidney and liver disease! To my shock that was news to me! I let her know that was an error, my personal doctor would have told me that when I had blood work in July? I let her know I would be seeing my doctor today ( same day appointment) and will ask him. So she had order (blood drawn) tests required to follow through with finding possible issues with hormones hereditary etc...of weight gain.. I left her office and arrived at my Physician's office. I explained to him what I was told in re: chronic kidney and liver disease..he asked me didn't we do tests in July and everything was good? I agreed with that analogy after all He would have told me? He assured it was an error not to worry. The next two days after both appointments. I received a call from a professional Receptionist wanting to schedule an appointment with a kidney liver doctor.that was recommended by Sheryl Bingham. It upset me because being on limited income I could not afford share of costs for new tests etc..I became upset and took it out on the receptionist by trying to get an answer if this was required due to Sheryl Bingham test results or were they going by the information in my portal because it was wrong and would be updated.. Long story short she refused to continue to attempt to schedule this referral due to the confusion of my question.. Then I contacted my doctor and was completely upset but wasn't put through because they wanted to know "Why" and I just fell apart... The next morning my doctors physician assistant contacted me and informed me to call Radiology for an appointment!! a scan has been ordered He then would see me in January. OK now I have no trust in my doctor, and hope I can be referred to a physician in the women's center..

She has helped walk me through the Keto diet, metabolic resistance and lots of other things that seem to be holding me back. Positive experience: The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because of the front office staff. Zheila Schwartz herself was great and I’ll defin be coming back to see her. The front office staff was very unfriendly. I work at a clinic where we smile and acknowledge every patient who comes in. That being said, I most certainly don’t expect that level of treatment everywhere I go, but one lady didn’t even look at me and the other smiled once during the whole time she was helping me.

Fantastic experience: Located on the 4th floor of a pristine building, the Women's Center provided ACTUAL answers to years-long questions within my first visit. My current doctor Zheila Schwartz is incredible. She is attentive, caring and actually takes the time to go over my issues and my treatment options. I haven't been her patient very long but the care I've received from her is uncontested. The nurses and secretaries are also forces to be reckoned with, all very knowledgeable, caring and quick to assist. Overall extremely impressed with the Women's Center.

Negative experience: I had a cruddy experience at one of the Ogden Clinics two months ago, but I thought I’d try the Women’s Clinic because a doctor had recommended it. I waited in the waiting room for an HOUR before being called back (even though I arrived on time!), and then a nurse finally came back and said the doctor I scheduled with doesn’t do what I needed to have done and tried asking if I wanted to reschedule for something else. I was beyond frustrated at that point! After a few more minutes, I finally got to see the doctor I scheduled with. She was very nice and listened to me on some other health issues I have, but she couldn’t give me answers that I needed. Very frustrated with both of my visits. It’s not an enjoyable process trying to find a doctor or a clinic I can trust, and Ogden Clinic has ruined part of this experience. Each time I’ve visited their clinics I feel like I am a nuisance for even asking questions or being there in general. The doctor always seems to be ready to leave the appointment as soon as they enter the room. Time to look elsewhere.

Positive experience: ***updated my review to 3 stars because the clinic contacted me trying to resolve problems. They were kind and courteous—all communications were positive. I didn’t end up rescheduling here, but I appreciated their effort.*** Having moved to the Ogden area over a year ago and in need of a new doctor, I made an appointment here. The quickest they could get me in was a month and a half, which I gladly waited because the reviews here were good. And then I was 7 minutes late to my appointment (due to a power outage at my house and struggling to get my car out of the garage) and asked to reschedule. I had tried to call them from my the onstar in my car (left my cell phone at home with my kids in case of an emergency), but the automated system said I needed to press “1” or “2” but I couldn’t do that, and so the automated system just repeated itself over and over, and I never got through to anyone. When I arrived (7 minutes late) I was told I’d have to reschedule my appointment because they had wanted me there 15 minutes early—I’m really confused as to why they don’t just schedule the actual appointment time with those 15 minutes included!! But I understood wanting to run appointments on time, so I was fine to reschedule. Until I was told the next appointment was in a month. No thanks. I understand that the doctor’s time and the time of other patients is valuable, but so is mine. I wasted over an hour just driving to the clinic and back. I have to schedule appointments like most people...around school, work, and kids. Now I have to schedule this same appointment elsewhere and wait however much longer after already waiting a month and a half to get in here. Definitely disappointing, especially considering all of the excellent reviews for this clinic and its doctors.

Between Rachel and Dr. Schwartz I got more answers today than I was able to get from three other doctors over the last two years. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Seale, his nurse Darla and the whole McKay staff. Dr. Seale is incredibly knowledgeable without being arrogant. He genuinely cares about you as a patient and answers all of your questions. He assured us we could have the labor and delivery experience we wanted, and he was right. He just delivered our baby a couple weeks ago, and we wouldn’t change a thing. We switched to Dr. Seale after two not so great visits with another OB/GYN and were so glad we did! We highly highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Everyone in the office was very nice and friendly. Doctor Beverly was very pleasant and easy to talk to. I like that he comes in to talk with you before you disrobe for your exam, then he comes back in with a chaperone and do your exam. He lets you know what was found and give you a solution and let you think about what you want to do about what he has told you. There were no pressure at all. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: With my first baby I was seen at the Orem Community Clinic, an Intermountain facility. Appointments always felt rushed and impersonal. It seemed like the majority of the appointment was spent with a nurse instead of the doctor. The delivery was less than desirable as the nurse anesthetist decided to give me way too much whatever-it-is, so instead of being awake when my baby was born, I was fighting sleep and struggling to breathe. It took several visits to get answers about insurance and the financial contract that they have you sign. At Ogden Clinic I feel like an individual. I feel cared about. I feel like the people there can be trusted. I’ve gotten a bit of a standoffish feeling from one of the secretaries, but she’s not the one taking care of me and my baby. Nearly everyone there is personable. I love the nurses and the techs. As an added bonus, and something I don’t expect from any OB/GYN office, you get an ultrasound at every appointment and a 3D Ultrasound. As for the doctors, they truly care about their patients. They’re all very competent. I’ve received thorough and realistic answers to every question I’ve asked. More time is spent with the doctor rather than the nurses. I would highly, highly recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love it here! Dr. Kirk Lammi is one of the best doctors, he is so caring and hopeful. I had a tubular pregnancy, my tube had ruptured and caused internal bleeding and he took such great care of me and got it taken care of. He also delivered my son for me back in 2015. I have been seeing Dr. Lammi since 2014 with pregnancies and miscarriages. Him and all of the staff are the sweetest people! I would definitely recommend people to come to Ogden clinic women’s center!!!

Also the doctor I am talking about is Bryan plamer he is seriously the best!

Negative experience: I was referred to ogden women's clinic and Dr. Seale by a high risk specialist I've been seeing. I was wanting to see him for future high risk pregnancies. When I called to ask about seeing him for a pre-pregnancy consult they said he wouldn't see me until I was already pregnant. As a high risk patient a care plan needs to be established and in place prior to a pregnancy. I also wanted to verify he felt comfortable taking on my care with my multiple issues. I'm very disappointed in the way the front office handled it. They told me to leave a message for his nurse only to be called back by the front office and given the same line again. I will be letting my high risk doctor know as they came highly recommended for high risk care.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Palmer is very professional, has a high level of expertise, and is very personable - it's great to have a Dr. with all of these traits. Our experience was great and I'd recommend him to anybody.

Fantastic experience: I love Ogden Clinic Women's Center. Every single member of the staff is kind and makes you feel welcome. They text and call/leave voicemails to remind you of upcoming appointments and make everything as convinent as possible. I see Dr. Lammi and have for all three of my pregnancies and he is wonderful. You are very well taken care of if you are in his hands. He answers all questions, doesn't rush you through your appointments, and makes sure you were satisfied with your appointment; his bedside manner is outstanding. His nurses are awesome and so sweet and they make sure you are happy with your time and date of your next appointment. Just a plus, he is really funny and is generous on the ultrasound (I always get to look at my baby for at least two minutes, unless I wish otherwise.) I will go to Dr. Lammi at Ogden Clinic for any future pregnancy I may have.
