Abrams Royal Pharmacy specializes in custom compounding for hormones, thyroid, dermatology, veterinary, chemically allergic patients and so much more! We believe in a proactive approach to health and offer professional quality supplements, medical foods and one-on-one nutritional consultations by appointment. Negative experience: I can't believe how inconsistent and medically harmful ARP has become. They have been a Dallas institution for decades and as a patient with complex conditions in their specialty target demographic segment, I expected help, not runaround, being ignored, requesting a supervisor to speak with to never be answered at all by anyone, my prescription being held hostage, or them telling other pharmacies who tried hard to help me "We don't have her Rx" when ARP itself had emailed me in writing telling me they had it three days before (but still not filling it....despite me telling them multiple times how critically overdue it was and to fill it as soon as they got it, in MULTIPLE conversations). I wake up AGAIN today to ZERO responses to any of my emails or requests for them to get the Rx to someone who IS willing to fill it, even though I've provided literally every piece of information possible including the direct email address of a pharmacy manager at another facility. Absolutely unacceptable service. And again, I can't believe I am writing this about a pharmacy I was taught was the most respectful, knowledgeable Dallas pharmacy there is, and one that continues to have webinars for women in my exact conditions so is clearly marketing to people with complex multi-illness realities. It is immoral/malpractice/illegal on multiple fronts to market to but then deny care to disabled persons and to cause medical harm by being disorganized, unempathetic, and lacking in basic customer service coordination. I would love to change this review. I've done everything I can to ask for how to be a better customer for their systems and how we can work together more effectively, and I've gotten zero response. To have to file complaints with CPB or HHS or TxAG as a person with hand neuropathy for whom typing means I have to make tradeoff decisions like "typing or eating or brushing teeth today - which one is most important?", because a place I am PAYING won't do what it is designed to do and said it would do, is unacceptable, and if you don't want to be n the business of having customers who have critical medical needs and the stakes that entails, then get into a different business. Underpromise, overdeliver - not the other way around. Unconscionable that companies would rather wait to receive notices from federal agencies about their unlawful disability-inaccessible behavior than just be decent humans. Who wins when a customer is so out of options and goodwill that all they have left is public reporting? No one. No one wins. Take your business elsewhere, Dallas. Friends tell me SandsRx is a great compounding pharmacy in Dallas. Time to make that switch. Don't say you haven't been warned.

Regarding your prescription, without getting into details that would violate your privacy, our team was in ongoing communication with both you and your physician’s office for over two weeks to clarify important details. Dispensing the medication as originally written would have been an error, and for your safety, we are legally and ethically required to obtain clarification from your prescriber before filling it. This process is mandated by law and is central to our responsibility as healthcare providers. We also explained to you why your prescription was not eligible for transfer to another pharmacy. Again, these restrictions are based on state and federal regulations designed for patient safety.
While we regret this situation caused frustration, it is important to clarify our actions were taken solely to ensure your safety. Abrams Royal Pharmacy remains committed to providing exceptional customer care and supporting every patient through their healthcare journey.
Positive experience: *Updated* Been coming here for years and have always had a great experience. Recently, I had a small mix-up with a product and the team went above and beyond to make it right. That kind of service is why I will keep coming back. They genuinely care about their customers. Highly recommend them if you want quality products and a place that values loyalty.

Negative experience: After 10 years of spending +/- $200 monthly on supplements and products, I'm done. Will happily take my business elsewhere. Here's why: I have never once been greeted when I came in the door; I have often been overlooked while someone else was waited on who came in after me; when I've had questions, the pharmacist response is curt and they look around like they're not paying attention and cannot be bothered by customer interaction. Several products over the years are no longer carried with no notice and no alternative. With the exception of Lark and the 2 young men who often check me out, I have zero love lost with the rude and dismissive attitudes. Today, I sought to return a product that I bought by accident, meaning to have selected a different brand. After a lengthy phone conversation when I was asked if I had a problem with the brand I accidentally picked up - of course I did, that was the reason I called - I was given an "I don't think so" answer. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. After more than 6 min on hold I get the same person telling me sure, they'll take it back + a 30% re-stocking fee. Thanks for your complete lack of care and concern for over a decade. Shame on me for continuing to think you'll do better. May you reap what you sow.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and I am sorry you had a less than stellar experience at the pharmacy. With all complaints, I do my due diligence and speak with my staff, go over security footage as well as listen to any phone recordings that may give insight to the full picture of the situation. With the following information, I hope there is learning and understanding on both sides of the counter.
One of your complaints is that you were not greeted upon entering the pharmacy. In viewing the security footage, all of my employees were engaged with other customers at the time you walked in, but when their transactions/conversations were completed, you were pleasantly greeted by my staff.
Another of your complaints was that my employees were following our stated return policy. We will happily exchange or return products purchased within 30 days if they are in their original condition. However, the item you wished to return was opened, and therefore, not in original condition. I am sorry you picked up the wrong supplement from the shelf, but when I took a look at the security footage, you walked directly to the product, picked it up to read the label for a few seconds, then continued your shopping, even walking right past and looking at the brand you meant to pick up. I also listened to the phone conversation you had with my pharmacist, and you mentioned it was “your fault” that you picked up the wrong brand. The brand you purchased is a fantastic choice, however. We have lots of people on it and they often comment on how well it’s helping them, so I invite you to give it a try and let me know how well it works for you. The only reason for the 30% “restocking fee” is to help cover the cost of destroying a returned product we cannot resell. While we would love to offer a “return anything for any reason” policy, as a small business, we just don’t have the leverage to do so, hence, our stated return policy.
My staff and I are available at any time to answer any questions you may have about the products we carry, and if there’s any time that we seem curt, that is certainly not our intention. The pharmacy is very busy, and sometimes the pharmacist’s case load becomes quite large and we don’t have as much time as we’d like to take with each customer. We actually love engaging in conversations about all the awesome products we have. However, this is great feedback and we will work to make changes on our end.
My final comment is regarding your statement about “our complete lack of care and compassion for over a decade”. I will have to disagree with you on this point. For 45 years, our whole business model, including the products we choose to offer our clients and our commitment to patient education, stems from our philosophy of helping people attain their health goals through quality supplementation and education.
Again, I am sorry your recent visit was disappointing, but rest assured, we are here for all of our clients, and I am glad you are taking natural steps to reach your health goals. We’d love to see you in the pharmacy again, and if you need any help at all, please let me know.

Negative experience: Called to get my infant daughter's prescription filled for a new case of Phenomena. They told me it would be a six day wait before they could fill the prescription. I asked if there was anything I could do to move that up and he replied with "other places would take as long too". Long story short Walgreens filled the prescription that day and this place I would not recommend to anyone.

I understand the confusion regarding your daughter’s prescription. We are a compounding-only pharmacy, and as such, we do not stock “regular” manufacturer’s prescription medications that you would find at typical chain pharmacies. The prescription your daughter’s provider sent was not a compounded medication, and for us to get it in through our wholesaler would take a few days. The prescription was transferred to your Walgreens pharmacy so your daughter could receive her medication in a timely manner. We hope she feels better soon!

Fantastic experience: Pharmacists are always quick and helpful when I need to call, and they also get to you very quickly when using the drive through. I transferred my compounded prescriptions here after endless troubles with another Dallas compounding pharmacy, and it has made my life so much easier. Turnaround is timely, there are never long delays for refills or contacting doctors, they’re never hard to get a hold of, etc. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Authentic pharmacy for compounding medications especially those have to be formulated and not available on big chain pharmacies. Good customer service. But good to know in advance, they don’t take insurance. But they give you the paperwork which you can file to ur insurance company for reimbursement. Have drive thru like other traditional pharmacies. Can take upto 72 hours for the medications to be ready to pick up depending what’s being prescribed. One of the best choice for sterile compounding medications.

Positive experience: I have been a Loyal Customer w Abrams Royal Pharmacy for years due to their quality. But lately, it has been frustrating, that in spite of their Posted Hours of being open up to 7:00 pm. on Weekdays & these uncertain Covid-19 times when people couldn't use enough help from a Pharmacy, I could not get an Answer to my phone call about 10-8 mins. before their closing time and there was no place to leave a message/ Qn. at the Dallas location. I just needed a small information on my Sick baby Dog !

Not only for customers, but on our end as well - especially at the end of the day when we're quite busy helping customers in the store. Fantastic experience: I first went to Abrams Royal due to a peri-menopausal problem where I met Bob, Lark's father. I consulted with him due to 3 ob-gyn's telling me I needed surgery. I believed otherwise due to a prescription I was given desperate enough to take at the time. Bob embraced what I said and was so kind and compassionate as he listened to my story. I asked and was given a physician recommendation from him. To this day, I owe him a debt of gratitude as I was told by his reference I, in fact, didn't need surgery and the medicine given caused the problem for me. Since then I have listened to Lark's webinars and suggestions for supplements and have been enthralled with all of their people's breath of knowledge on the subjects you may encounter. They have compounded for me before also. I would heartily recommend them to anyone seeking competent health advice and supplements. Bless you all--tops in my book :)

Fantastic experience: On the way back from my mechanic today, I decided to stop in here (as it had been quite a while since I moved closer to their N. Dallas store). Still the same quality of items as their Plano location, of course. I picked up a few of their chocolate bars and a bottle of the CBD oil they carry to help with my Asperger's. None of that is the reason I'm writing though. It's because several of the techs & pharmacists (that have been there for years) even remembered me from before- and that's not something that I've ever had happen at the chain pharmacies with their CONSTANT employee turn-around! Thank y'all for reminding customers that they are more than just their ailments & prescriptions.

Negative experience: Dropped prescription off, told me it would take 3-5 days to fill and they would give me call. Did not ever call to let me know it was ready. After 8 days it was ready after I called. Just frustrating when you're waiting on a medication for something serious.

Thank you so much for letting us know about your experience. It is definitely not our intention to have such a long turn around time on our compounded medications. Barring any extenuating circumstances, our normal turn-around time is 2 to 3 week-days. Our records do show that the prescription was ready in 2 business days however, it is obvious that there was a communication disconnect on our end. For future prescriptions, may I recommend we set you up with our email and/or text notification that will immediately notify you when your order is ready which can help ameliorate the problem. I have spoken with my team and we are going to upgrade our procedures for calling patients when their prescriptions are ready to make sure no one falls through the cracks. So again, thank you for letting us know about your experience so we can make procedural adjustments in order to give you a better pharmacy experience.

Negative experience: Vivian is VERY RUDE & VERY INSENSITIVE I have been a patient at Abrams Royal Pharmacy for many years and also purchased supplements there quite often. My wife spoke with Vivian, the compounding pharmacist, regarding a prescription for my 11 year old son, who is very ill. Vivian was extremely rude and said this was a compound that is only made for animals, not humans. She also said she could not quote a price until she had the prescription in hand. My wife had not asked for a price. When you have a sick child, you have to deal with many different doctors and nurses. No one has ever been as rude, insensitive or unkind as Vivian.

Due to HIPAA regulations, I'd prefer if you or your wife could call me so I can I can get a better understanding of the conversation. Negative experience: Not a trustworthy pharmacy. They push expensive, non-medicinal supplements, even from companies fined for criminal misbranding. On their Facebook page they link to unscientific quacks like David "Avocado" Wolfe. Go somewhere that won't rip you off.

With that in mind, most of the supplements we provide come from professional lines that contain both a higher potency and quality with their active ingredients. These products are backed by extensive research and clinical trials to ensure quantity, quality and effectiveness, so naturally, the prices of medical grade supplements and medical foods will be more than what you will see with "big box" or generic products. All of the lines we carry in our pharmacies go through a lengthy vetting process, so If you could provide me with the company you feel has been involved in criminal misbranding, I will look into the claim, and if it's true, I will personally remove the product from our shelves.
