Fantastic experience: I recently received a complimentary hairstyle appointment, and although I was hesitant due to chronic pain when sitting for extended periods, I decided to visit Genesis Vegan Spa. Gabrielle provided an exceptional experience. She demonstrated utmost care and attention to my mind, scalp, and soul, surpassing my expectations. The outcome of my hair is remarkable, and I will share photographs after dressing appropriately. Surprisingly, I was able to sit comfortably for two stimulating hours without experiencing any pain. Gabrielle possesses a remarkable talent. She made me feel like her sole focus, and I am confident that I have gained a lifelong client and friend. The spa's decor is tasteful, and the ambiance is conducive to relaxation. I gained valuable insights about my hair, making me feel that the service was worth more than the cost. I also purchased her vegan hair products. (no sales involved) you can't, not, once she infuses your senses with them. I express my sincere gratitude to Miss Gabrielle, and I look forward to our continued association.

Negative experience: You'd think when you get sick, you would call your clients immediately to let everyone know you have to reschedule. Prior to your clients driving several hours to meet with you. Only to find out that you've been sick for 3 days with COVID. Terrible communication skills. My grandmas dead and it's still easier to get an update on appointments with her than it is with you.

Negative experience: First off, I want to make clear that I'm sure Gabrielle is a very talented hair stylist and I wish it worked out, I would have been a loyal client and would've brought in more people, but the fact of the matter is their is no respect for other people's time, or money. I drive 2 hours for our appointment, so bringing my own hair is something id remember. I was not told, but I'll take blame for that one! Sure! The next 2 times are on you Gabrielle. I got a message 25 minutes AFTER arriving for our scheduled appointment, after sending 3 messages the day before, trying to confirm our appointment!Had she communicated before I made a 2 hour drive it would've been.. "better" Unfortunately I prepaid for my hair and now can't get a refund because "all sales are final" why would I want to go back??? I think you take advantage of people and your unprofessional Gabrielle. So that's $200 down the drain for me. Don't prepay.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here since 2021! I have been using the Moisture and GrowOil and as you can see, it has surely worked. The GrowEdge control always has my edges laid down! As needed when washing my hair, we use the Growsoap and not only do I use that on my hair but as it is made from plant ashes, I use it on my face! This soap leaves my hair shine and my face glow! I 100% recommend all of her products and her time. She is the sweetest and she takes her time and is good at her work! The first photo is from 2021. Fantastic experience: I started going to Genesis spa 6/2/22 and have been amazed at the way my hair has transformed. Before going my hair had been at a stand still (not growing for 2 years), it was uneven, thinning out, and I had so much breakages. I explained to Gabrielle that I was ready to chop it off and start over. Luckily she stopped me and did an analysis of my hair and scalp and got me on the right track. I'm now a member, where I get monthly products, can have weekly treatment, and discount on her many vegan friendly services. Not only that, I'm always greeted by her sweet and energetic positivity, and her genuine personality. I look forward to my visits and learning new things about my hair. She great about keeping up with how my hair is doing and giving the products based my hairs needs. I posted a pic of just 6 months of going to Genesis Spa and my hair has not only grown, it's gotten thicker, and now it's growing in more even, I knew I would need to cut some off to make it more even but she's been patient with my hair trimming and getting it even without any big chops. Being from Texas and not knowing people in the area, I'm so glad I found Gabrielle and Genesis spa. I have complete trust in her and her process and am looking forward to our 1 year appointment to see the full improvement.

Fantastic experience: Gabby is a sweet and a nice owner. I took my daughter for the first time to get her hair done professionally in a hair salon and she made her feel like a princess. My daughter loved it and her products are the best. We can see the difference and feel the difference on my daughters hair. We have tried so many products to help her hair since is so dry and unmanageable, but nothing has helped her the way these natural products has helped her hair and scalp. It’s now shine, manageable and looks more healthy. We haven’t used any other products since we started to use these vegan products. We will be going back and recommend this place and products.

Fantastic experience: I got my hair braided by Gabrielle, she gave me the best scalp wash. I have never had my hair wash so good by anyone and she used a whole avocado to conditioner my hair! I was shocked! I got my hair braided and the gel smelled so good, like chocolate, I will never go anywhere else!

Negative experience: Would not honor the advertisement on their website guaranteeing that first time clients would receive 50% off their service.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. What is the point of advertising a coupon you can not use. Then get nasty with a customer because of that. It’s not a false review it’s the lack of customer service.

Fantastic experience: What do I say about this experience other then phenomenal? Gabrielle is a hair goddess! I started going here in aug, my scalp was on FIRE, my hair was breaking and I was tired. As a Portland native it’s hard to find a salon that is well versed in Afro textured hair, let alone a spa! I’ve struck gold. Everything from the paint on the walls, to the flooring is perfect. The Owner Gabrielle or i was I affectionately call her Miss.Gabby is a professional trichologist. That means she doesn’t just do hair, she treats your scalp at the root and treats the layers underneath the hair. My scalp is cool, soothed and well maintained now. My hair was hard, brittle and unmanageable before Miss.Gabby, after receiving treatment my hair is soft, bouncy and well managed as well as moisturized. Genesis vegan hair spa is not a service it’s an EXPERIENCE. If have balding she will treat you, if you have skin issues she will treat you, if you have nail problems she will treat you. Hair is just one service, but being taken care of in a chemical free environment is an experience. Please check this business out it doesn’t stop at hair they offer a unique variety of services.

Fantastic experience: Wow , were do I begin. I came in with braids that I needed taken down that had gotten locked at the roots. Not only did her herbs untangle the locks also protected my hair. They really took patience and kindness with my hair. My hair looks amazing I was also educated on how to take care of my hair from even her pulling out a book and showing me the facts. this salon experience has been the best experience I've had my entire life. I left the salon feeling beautiful, empowered and educated. I was so amazed at how all of her herbs and the natural vegan things that I could actually eat made my hair look so incredible. I will definitely be going back there again.

Fantastic experience: The owner Gabrielle is the most beautiful intelligent genuine. Her methods and tactics to take on patterned baldness as well as styling is ancient and unmatched. She is so knowledgeable i could see how it could be a bit of an intimidation for someone who was as sensitive and nervous as i was highlight what i was going through with my hair. The staff did so well with making me feel confident and moreso had an ally in the fight against what these big companies are pushing on to us to consume 100% all natural non gmo products for retstoration was the key not 10'000$ dollar hair transplants or any snake oils this salon is an essential and integral to human health.. Negative experience: Terrible! I literally had the worst experience one could ever have. Let me start from the beginning. At 1:18 pm today on 13 August 2019 I received a phone call from the shop owner Gabrielle she called to confirm my appointment for today @ 3:00pm. She also mentions that there was a double booking for me on two separate dates (one for today and another for Friday) I apologized to her and said that I would like the one for today, I mentioned that the double booked seemed to have happened because I had a few add ons that I wanted as well (deep conditioner and hair exfoliating). She canceled the appoint for Friday immediately then goes on to ask if we can push the app on back until 3:30 today. I had not probably with doing so, so I agreed. While traveling to the salon I relaxed o was going to be late (first week of school, school zones) so I placed a phone call to the salon, to no avail. I left a voice message on the phone explaining that I am running a bit late. Once I get there she seemed friendly, I apologized for the delay and sat down. It seemed as though she was trying to get the printer to work to fill out the new client paperwork. It took me a minute to fill it out because a lot of the questions were very though provoking and made me think a bit. Anyways I finished the paperwork and she began to examine my hair. She tells me at first that my hair looked healthy, she mentioned that my ends are dry but overall looks pretty healthy. We began to go through the list of products that I use and most of them were fine. Then I started mentioning “As I Am” and other products that I use occasionally. She goes off on a tangent about the product. Kept saying she’s going to show me what type of products to use how to style blah blah blah. It was exciting to me to know that I was going to get some education on how to manage my hair on my own. Throughout the consultation I felt like she was stalling to actually get me in the chair. The she turns to a young girl and asks her to go to the store and get her some towels. Apparently she didn’t have any available therefor she couldn’t wash my hair at the moment. Hence her appearing to be stalling. Anyways everything was going fine until seemingly another client walked into the salon. No all the sudden my hair is dry and damaged and she didn’t want to straighten it like we had previously discussed. She continued to badger me about my hair and it was really weighing on me. She even made a comment that it was “damaged down to the root” so I made the comment to “just cut it off then” apparently she though I was being facetious because her attitude completely changed. She then looks at me and says “if you’d like I can just charge you for the wash and the blow out?!” I was shocked and didn’t know what to say “ then she stops “trimming” my hair (I say that because if my hair was really that damaged I would think that more hair would be falling from her scissors than what I saw... which was nothing) and felt it necessary that say that “this is why most of my clientele are Caucasian's, Mexican’s and Asians because normally black people have an attitude” I was appalled! I literally still did not know what to say! I was still trying to figure out where all of this is coming from??? I literally made a comment for her to cut my hair short because SHE kept on saying how dry and damaged it was. But really her attitude and personality completely switched when the other women came into the salon and basically she was trying to rush me out of the hair. She was very argumentative when she said she wasn’t going to straighten my hair (which I didn’t mind) but she did not offer an alternative to what she was going to do. There we were just looking at each other stupidly in the mirror. So here I am with some this mediocre “twist-out” that was rushed and feels crunchy. This women is a total bully and took advantage of the fact that I didn’t defend myself. I know I should have just left but she made it so difficult and awkward to do so when she’s holding scissors in her had. Felt very threatening.

Fantastic experience: I have never felt so pampered in my life. Gabrielle is the most knowledgeable and compassionate stylist I have ever met. She is a trichologist who specializes in ALL hair types. I am a caucasian woman with textured hair. I have been misunderstood by every stylist I've seen up until finding weavetastic salon. She exceeded all of my expectations. I have finally found someone I can trust. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Just got done get a sew in and for the first time in my life I am really loving my hair and the way it feels after she used her products really made a difference..I would recommend and I will also be returning...love love love them all they all were very sweet and caring too my needs ..

Negative experience: I contacted the owner for a full sew in at the beginning of the week, told her that I needed it done sometime during the weekend. She said cool, Saturday at 4pm. Sometime that Saturday, she told me that she was out of stock for the lace closures and wanted me to order on her website which would take another 2 business days. I didn’t want to wait another 2 days to get my hair done. So I told her that I would settle for crochet braids as the sew in was pricey anyway. I said that I would go get the hair, and would meet her for our appointment at 4. She told me that she had already left her store and would reopen on Tuesday at 5pm. Umm..So I guess the customer just doesn’t matter? I have to wait another 3 days? I think not.. I took my money to another lady that booked me within a day. She did an amazing job, for a cheaper price too. Update: The owner has dug up my number and has been texting me every since I made this review. I don’t even know her like that. She’s called me a liar and told me that I’m not mentally stable, all because she didn’t like my review. I sent her the text messages backing up my review. I would post it, but don’t know how. Not cool! Now she gets zero stars. Do not text me again! Update again 4 months later: How many times do you need to edit your response for my review? This is the 5th time that you’ve changed your response, each time making up a different story and excuse. No, you didn’t “squeeze” me in on short notice. I made that appointment almost a week in advance and you canceled a few hours before, stating that I had to go to the hair store. The hair store is down the street from my job. That’s still 2 hours before my appointment. A lot of these reviews here and on yelp are saying the same thing about you needing to respect people’s time, but you always have an excuse or claim they’re lies. We can’t all be lying... and then you want belittle people on your responses. Respect your customers and people looking to get into your chair and leave my review alone.

Fantastic experience: Gabrielle is an exceptional hair stylist. She genuinely cares about NATURAL hair care which is super important to me. I've known her for almost 2 years (not consistently) and the times she has done my hair i have been satisfied. She educates you on what you can do to better take care of your hair and she teaches you her techniques. I plan on getting my hair back to what it used to be before i moved to Vegas and she will be the one to help me. I highly recommend her if you need your hair taken care of. Fantastic experience: Gabrielle is so amazing and sweet! She really helped me a lot by educating me on how to keep my hair healthy. It is all about restoring your hair and maintaining its' health by using good products that aren't filled with mystery chemicals. She really goes above and beyond. Fantastic experience: UPDATE: I have been going to Weavetastic for more 2 years now and I can say that it was the best decision of my life. My curls are back popping and I am now spending more time with my culrs and appreciating them so much more. I was so BLESSED to have found a stylist that is not only honest, caring, genuine, down to earth, and BEAUTIFUL, not just her face but her spirit! When I called her for our original consultation we talked for about an hour . She wanted to know my hair goal and the past experience with the stylist that had almost made me give up on my hair. Just by discussing what was done to my hair by someone else she was able to explain to me what was done incorrectly and what should have been done. From the first moment we talked it was like we had known each other for years! From the 1st time I sat in her chair I knew that she was VERY knowledgeable and was not just concerned with her money but she wanted to truly remind me of how beautiful my curl was and show me what I had been so blinded to by letting the WRONG people do my hair. My kids love her too! Gabrielle has a gift for growing hair and she also has a gift to read people very well. She can spot the faux in people really quickly and sometimes that upsets people, and possible clients but I like the real in her. We were raised the same all money is not good money and she is not afraid to cancel an appointment when she feels that you are not right for her environment as everyone always has the right to refuse service but some people will certainly become upset and try to come for what they can not experience, which is the best. I had not written a review since the new Beautiful Salon opened so I thought it was time to show her some love especially after seeing the negative review from someone that does not even know her. How can you speak so badly about someone that you dont even know, and lie about things that could get ones kids taken away if someone believed the evil. Keep your head up lady and that beautiful smile on your face duck those mean spirited people and keep doing what you have for the natural community. Slay girl slay. The devil is NOT a LIE he is a LIAR and he sends people to test us all the time. Last but most importantly Gabrielle has become my FRIEND a genuine FRIEND that when I just need encouragement or a shoulder she is always there and she always spreads her LOVE and LIGHT with every interaction. Fantastic experience: Before I start coming to Weavetastic I had been googling and researching all kinds of salons for people that can handle sensitive scalps, thinning hair and hair loss. I had a lot of bad experiences until early 2015 when I came across Weavetastic Salon & Extension company. I called and I actually had a conversation with the owner Gabby before making an appointment to let her know what was going on with my hair and what I was looking for. One of the most enjoyable things that I can remember about the conversation is that she cared about the health, growth and strength of my hair not just styling it. She treated me with the upmost respect and kindness like know other. She was very gentle and let me know all kinds of things that I didn't know was going on with my own hair and since then I have not turn my back. I've been there ever since. I do not regret the day that I found my home at Weavetastic salon because it has helped me through some hard and struggling times with my hair.

Fantastic experience: I have been getting my hair done by Gabby for a little over a year now. I became natural in 2015. I had a short afro. The stylist that did my hair before broke my hair off and it wasn't growing. When I started going to Gabrielle it changed my hair for the better. It has grown tremendously and it is very healthy. I couldn't have prayed for a better hairstylist. She is the best. Her products are all natural and they help your hair grow and stay healthy. I am so glad that I am Weavetastic.

Fantastic experience: I’m forever grateful!!! The moisture and grow oil is an answered prayer. My one year old daughter has dealt with eczema since she was 2 months old. Everything I tried broke her scalp out something terrible and I was at my wits end. After using the oil for just 2 months, her scalp has healed and her hair has grown tremendously!! Positive experience: Wow... I thought Gabby is and I still do think she is a good stylist. But when you wish you customers to utilize your website for booking appointments but it does not work correctly.... maybe you should consider not having your business run off that system. In all ofor my days I have never written anything good or bad on a hair stylist. Today I have to express how you call me and act like I did something wrong to you. I schedule an appointment one for 9am and another for 10pm (which was wrong...my bad). You text and change the appointment for us both which I have as proof to come in today at 11am. Then this morning you text and say your running late to come at 12pm. But you not sure you will be ready. Omg... so I ask can my daughter only get seen tomorrow at 11am. You say fine. Fantastic experience: This woman's hair products are amazing! Period! After my surgery, I was losing so much hair that when I touched it, it would break. I thought I couldn't do anything else to restore my hair. Then I was told from sister and mother, who are clients by the way, that I should try her product.
