Negative experience: Terrible bedside manner. The "PA" didn't even introduce himself to me/my husband, just said "Hi, I'm the PA." Barely touched my knee, gave me a brace and sent me on my way. Recommended PT for my torn meniscus. Nothing for pain relief? Oh he, "Could write me a script for Ibuprofen 800 MG." No thanks. Waste of time. I'm still in pain. They took X-rays, but have no answers and no plan of care. I had to ask for a work note. I can't even put weight on my right knee. Please do yourself a favor and head to the ER or anywhere else. Just awful!!

Fantastic experience: Had surgery in November on my back still a little so but fell better than I did .only complaint is when you try to call the office in orchard park your waiting for someone to answer and your on hold .I waited over 30 minutes and was still waiting .

Fantastic experience: I sustained a hip surgery in Jan of 2023 and had surgery June 2023, and then again in March 2024. Dr Bernas, his PA Morgan and all of his staff are absolutely incredible! Dr. Bernas always addressed my concerns and I never felt rushed. He is one of the most compassionate and friendly Drs I've had. You can tell he truly cares and wants the best for his patients. Morgan is super knowledgeable and always returned my phone calls if I ever had a question. I am beyond grateful for this team! Definitely one of a kind! Thank you Dr Bernas and staff for helping me get through such a difficult time and onto living my life again!

Negative experience: Despite all the forms you fill out online and being them told you can use the express checkin don’t bother with the kiosk and get right in line. Edit: so glad I needed that appointment just for someone to read me the paperwork I brought in from urgent care. Edit: what’s the point of leaving a phone number if nobody ever answers. Every number I call during or even after business hours gets me to a switchboard to get routed to another voicemail.

Negative experience: The CARE is good and everything is clean, employees are caring. HOWEVER, the PRICE is HORRIBLE for a self pay patients. They do not have a pay scale for self pay patients. The f/u visits should be lower than the initial visit. It's killing my pocket. In two visits I have spent almost $2000. My review is base only financially.

Negative experience: My first experience here with their PT department was terrible it is still the same. The Secretary and PT Manager are not competent enough to run a facility. The secretary there I wouldn't let her run or be the face of my franchise she is not even smart enough to run Mickey Mouse Club House. The PT manager on duty was not worth a hill of beans either. He has no customer service skills or management skills.

Negative experience: I don't ever write bad reviews, but this is to give heads up to people to save your time and money. When they give you follow up appointment ask them what they will talk about at this appointment. I left work to take my Mom to this appointment and paid $40 copay for them to bring us into the office to tell us that there is nothing they can do for her. I am not mad about the results or that there was nothing they could not do, but I do not understand why they could not call instead of wasting our time! This is way to SCAM people to charge copay and insurance for appointments!!!!

Negative experience: I got a call week before my appointment. Threatened to cancel my appointment on spot if I didn’t fill out the paperwork sent before my arrival. Was no paperwork, but access to a patient portal. An hour later all the questions are answered! Get to my appointment and must fill out all the paperwork again! I tell the girl I did it all online and she said, we don’t have anything on line like this. bringing up my patient portal so show her she’s wrong and then she says it’s different. No, it’s exactly the same info I filled out on line. I’m 1/2 hour past my appointment time with an absolutely full waiting room. We will see if I stay for the appointment … I don’t wait for late doctors!!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Binkley and Mrs Dr Binkley , in my opinion they have one of the greatest teams in Western New York. They really do care about each individual and their struggles through their recovery. They are the best in my opinion. They helped me in more ways then just fixing my arm ... And for that I will always and forever be greatful and thankful for them ... They are some of the greatest, kindest human beings walking the face of the earth right now ... God has a way of putting the right people in your life when you need them most .. Thank you one day all your kindness and love you two put in this world will be paid back ten fold someday... Negative experience: I never write reviews unfortunately,I feel that I had to today. We never made it past the receptionist desk. The secretary was condescending to us and everyone in line. Also, stating insurance information( which should be kept confidential ) out loud. I traveled quite a distance but requested my insurance cards back and immediately left. I’m sure the doctors provide great service; unfortunately the front desk (office manager)was the rudest person with no reason to be.
Negative experience: If I could give them zero I would. I the doctors didn't listen and they only acknowledged that my fingers tingle. They didn't care that I am in pain and lose all ability to grip objects.i was told that I am probably just bending my elbow too much. Never truly looked at.

Fantastic experience: We made an appointment at their urgent care when my 6yo hurt his foot. From the person I spoke to on the phone to the xray tech to the receptionist who checked us out....we had an amazing experience. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Even the woman who was ready to clock out who came to fit him for his boot said it was, "no big deal," with a smile. I know we all have bad days but it has been a long time since I have had such a pleasant experience receiving a service of any kind. 5 stars!

Negative experience: Spent 20 minutes filling out paperwork that could have been sent to my clients residence, while FOUR receptionists sat laughing and joking around. Unprofessional. Would not recommend.
Negative experience: I am an Army Veteran who was referred by the VA to UBMD. I had Arthroscopic surgery on my left knee., Every time I called for any information the hold time was 23 minutes or more. When I finally got my surgery, they rushed me and put me under, and as soon as I was awake, the first thing, I remember, is one nurse, putting my shirt on another nurse pulling my pants on and a third nurse, putting my socks on, I could barely stand up yet from the anesthesia, and they were putting me on crutches and asking me to crutch my way out the door. After about four or five steps, they finally realized that this was not an option, and put me in a wheelchair. I was barely conscious when they pushed me out of their facility. No one ever told me when I am supposed to start physical therapy, and when I called about it, I waited 46 minutes on hold to be told that someone would contact me. I had heard good things about UBMD prior to my experience, and I hope this is not their usual practice.
Negative experience: Edit: Dr. Heidi Suffoletto saw me for about 2 minutes, told me to go for another exam, then I never heard from her again. Didn't even tell me the results of my exam. I had to contact them through the portal and ask them. Has no follow-up plan of action. She's only in it for the money.
Negative experience: PA Elizabeth Hanretty thinks everyone bodies heals the same and bullies you into things you don’t feel ready for. Also will speak to you like you’re stupid. Dr fineberg and his other PA are great.
Negative experience: We'll not give you a 2 opinion. They said their doctors are too important and are too Busy. Their staff is not very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Joshua Jones and team are great. I had carpal tunnel problems for years that has caused some arthritis. I bit the bullet and had surgery two weeks a part and healed quickly for the carpal tunnel. I guess nurses get carpal tunnel a lot due to repetitive tasks. My thumbs eventually will need surgery for the arthritis. Again years of repetitive motion as a RN and someone who crochets ot. When the injections now longer help I will be calling in Dr. Jones and his team again!

Negative experience: Sustained a boxer break in Jan from an awkward fall. Was recommended to ub ortho by the Er doc. Was questioned how it happened every time I went in as though I was lying.I was told at every visit how they consulted a surgeon who felt this injury did not require surgery. The “no surgery” declaration was relayed to me at every subsequent visit even though I did not ask about it! I always felt like they thought I was pushing for surgery! I totally didn’t care about nor want surgery. I did however follow every care plan given. Wore the cast, wore the brace, never lifted anything heavy, did the motion exercises. At every appt I was honest about how the hand felt. Not to mention it was very clear my fingers and my hand were still very swollen. Yet every follow up appt I was told it wasn’t healing because I was doing too much?!?! I asked the doc at every visit about starting therapy but I was told it needed to heal more. Today, 3m Months later when I was suppose to get a new type of brace that wouldn’t interfere with my work as much and be cleared for therapy, NOW they want me to go see a surgeon!!! And I’m assuming not to go back to them? They were not clear about that…bye and out the door. A surgeon?! For what? You told me he wasn’t going to do it? I’m honestly bewildered. I stuck with them because I felt confident. But this last visit lost me. What doctor is gonna see me now 3 months later !!! Little alone a surgeon. Good grief. You guys punted cause you don’t have a clue and I’m the one left holding the ball. Joke.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place for therapy. They are very involved with you on day one after that your on your own. One of the gentleman who works there I found to be a bit immature walking around singing at the top of his lungs and not doing much of anything else. And if your having a bad day with pain and not doing well with your I'm on my own therapy they seem to notice that real quick and ask if you really want to continue with them or not. That was it for me never went back and did it on my own at home. At least it saved me almost $200 a month.
Fantastic experience: This being my first ever major surgery and it being a total right hip replacement. My Dr Scott Nodzo was Awesome!! Him and his assistant Dr Barrett were very comforting and explained any and all questions I had!! Very professional, caring and bed side manners were again Awesome! Me being the biggest worry wart there is and this team of Dr's assured me that they would take very good care of me and they did!! Even kudos to the nurses and anesthesiologist at ECMC Synder Building they were Awesome!! Couldn't have a better experience!! Would Highly recommend Dr Nodzo to anyone in need of a hip or knee replacement!!

Negative experience: I called asking for help for a back pain that I woke up with and they refused to help me. They asked when the first time I had pain was. I explain I first felt pain 3 weeks ago but it went away. Today I woke up with severe back pain and need the emergency care. They turned me away. “There’s nothing we can do for you” they said. “No one will see you you need to follow up with a doctor in a few days”. I’m having back pain now and I have to deal with it because they are discriminating against me for feeling a pinch 3 weeks ago. That makes absolutely no sense. They are supposed to be orthopedics and they are supposed to have emergency care but you are not allowed to have access to it. You have to wait. Asked for a supervisor they sent me to a voicemail. Terrible at business and terrible at care. Karen’s office. Not emergency room. Look somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Fran and his staff at Physical Therapy were amazing to work with and I would highly recommend them. I had rotator cuff surgery and during PT they coached me and guided me through my exercises without making me have severe pain or discomfort. I can't thank them enough for all the support that they gave me during my rehab!

Fantastic experience: About a year and a half ago I had destroyed my right shoulder in the fall. Within a few days Dr. Matthew Binkley had my arm fixed and healing. Unfortunately due to a rotator cuff tear he had to go back in in June of this year, which turned out to be lucky because most of the metal if not all was removed. When I woke up my arm felt so much better I was thinking it might’ve been because of the nerve block; however it was fixed all the pain was gone great doctor great facility I would recommend it to anyone

Negative experience: While I believe I have benefitted from therapy and the knowledge they gave me, the business model is terrible. Once you are given the initial exercises, you are on your own going forward. There can be six therapists standing at the counter, one other patient in the building, and there will still be zero interaction or interest from anyone. This is not worth a copay. Do your research and find a place that will actually pay attention that you exist.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend any one needing physical therapy to come to UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. I have been very pleased with the help, advice and attention I have received in recovering from my surgery from everyone here. Jordan is my main therapist, he always listens to my issues and adjusts my session to accommodate what I need. I am very pleased I choose to do my therapy here and will return if I ever need physical therapy in the future.

Fantastic experience: I called needing a hip replaced and done soon because I have been suffering for months and also out of work. They had me in the office within a week and was ready for surgery in two more weeks. Dr. Nodzo was amazing and the surgery was successful. I basically was walking 15 minutes after I woke up. I am now pain free.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had been suffering with groin and hip pain for about 6 months and after seeing multiple Dr’s without any resolution I finally came to UB Orthopedics and their team of specialist took the time to pay attention to my issue and develop a plan of care that were beyond my expectations. Fantastic experience: UBMD is a highly efficient, organized, and caring group of people. I have been seeing them for six months with regularly scheduled appointments while my broken arm has been healing. At each appointment, they handle the x-rays, the visit with the PA, and even take care of any other issues that I have brought up that are not related to my arm. They listen, and then offer advice on exercising, massage therapy if needed, and any other information that I need. I have very pleased with their help in my recovery.

Fantastic experience: If I could give ten stars, I would. Dr. Freitas and his staff, from the receptionist to his medical staff. His PA is fantastic. They listen, they hear, and they respond accordingly. I never feel rushed or foolish, no matter what the question. I would say they are one of the most organized medical offices I have ever interacted with. Dr. McGrath did a great job with my surgery and I am very pleased with my recuperation 4 weeks post-op.

Negative experience: Met with Dr. Phillips prior to surgery, saw him twice at time of surgery, and one post op visit. BUT, I received absolutely the worse care from PA , initials A.R.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is very friendly. I see a couple different doctors there, both are wonderful , caring doctors. Their P.A.'s are also very nice. I also go to PT there and those people are just as nice. I have never had a bad experience there. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: My first appointment in Orchard Park was a solid 90 minute wait before I got to see the doctor. There was movement from waiting room to X-ray to waiting room but 90 min to doctor wait time. The doctor herself was wonderful. My experience at reception and check out was fantastic. My Physical Therapist at the Orchard Park location was amazing. That being said, the one test at the Harlem Rd location was awful and I was shocked at how I was treated. It was very early in the morning and it was dark I had difficulty finding the proper entrance with the main entrance being the exit now due to Covid. Having never been to that location and the door to enter was not clearly marked combined with already being 10 mins late put me at almost 20 mins late for a 7am appointment. I found reception and was greeted with a very harried “you’re late”. I explained that I clearly understood and offered to reschedule appointment because I understood that. I was sent to the next person on a different floor also greeting me with “you’re late” but they had taken the next appointment because he was early and said they would check with the doctor about seeing me and Again I offered to reschedule. They checked me in and the doctor himself came to get me explaining he took the patient ahead of me and that he runs extremely prompt and took me to an exam room tossed me a gown said put this on and as I explained I was late and apologized I was lost ( meaning in the building ) he cut me off and said “that’s what GPS is for” and went back to the other patient. Gobsmacked he was so rude I went back to reception carrying the Gown and asked his staff what EXACTLY I needed to remove for the procedure thinking that what I had on was accessible for the test mind you it was ALL below the knee. I told them he was very rude and why I was late and AGAIN said I was sorry and would reschedule. He was very upset and again let me know when he came in. Feeling I would explode if I said anything decided to keep my mouth shut. I regret it because to this day I am still upset he was so unprofessional with his sarcasm and attitude. I gained no information from him about the test itself and just wanted to get out of there after he scheduled my next appointment himself and said don’t be late. The test itself involves getting poked with needles and if that doesn’t hurt enough on top of my injury, a doctor with zero bedside manner doesn’t help. There are many orthopedic groups all over the southtowns where I live so had it not been set up for me to go to UB MD I probably would have went elsewhere. Reception, checkout, my original doctor and physical therapist all at Orchard Park were fine. Harlem Rd was my worst experience ever at a health care facility.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff were friendly and caring when I had my hip replacement at the surgery center. They took away my anxiety and Dr. McGrath was efficient and did an excellent job. I was able to go home the same day and no more pain. I am able to enjoy life again.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Stegemeyer for my shoulder and was Super impressed. He was personable and Kind, which is a boon when one is in Great pain and somewhat anxious. He explained everything in exacting detail which I sincerely appreciated. His patient, over the top explanation of Precisely what was going on in my shoulder gave me immense confidence in his expertise. I am grateful and Very happy I sought out UBMD Orthopaedics for a 2nd opinion. I had been told that I required another shoulder replacement by the previous orthopedic group I saw. Have had the right done already but Dr Stegemeyer explained to me exactly Why he would not recommend that at this time. I still have excellent range of motion and good strength and my Xrays didn’t look that bad. Certainly not as bad as I had been led to believe. I’d had a rotator cuff repair attempt prior to the reverse shoulder replacement and Both were horrifically Painful, with months of disability and agonizing Pain & Torture (aka PT). To Not have to go through That again, at least not now, was an incredible and welcome relief. I saw Dr S at ECMC and did feel somewhat uncomfortable there due to pandemic concerns but all was well. Not being able to walk well due to multiple spinal fusions and severe hip arthritis it was comforting to be able to get transportation to take me to the actual office within ECMC. If you require wheelchair transportation however, be sure to arrive At Least 30 min early. It can take a while for them to get to you. Thank you Dr Stegemeyer and UBMD Orthopaedics. I was Very pleased with the excellent consult, and the personable kindness of the doctor, the nurse that took my history and the receptionist. I Highly recommend this

Fantastic experience: I have seen several doctors with ubmd and every single one was awesome and all had great bedside manner!! Also I have had two surgeries now and the staff at the ambulatory center where just as amazing and kind as the staff at all my appointments!! Fantastic experience: My experience at UBMD Orthopaedics &Sports Medicine was wonderful. All the staff were very helpful. Everything was explained thoroughly. My surgery, carpal tunnel and trigger fingers on both hands, was easy to recover from. It’s so nice not to have the numbness in my hands any longer.

Fantastic experience: I have been cared for by 5 different doctors with UBMD Orthopedics and their respective staff over the last 8 years or so. I have had 3 surgeries at different facilities. I feel I have always received the very best care available. I was treated with respect and taken seriously even though I am just a normal patient, not an athlete nor of any elevated status. All my surgeries were successful, beyond projected expectations in some ways. I highly recommend the UBMD Orthopedic group.

Negative experience: I went here today for an appointment to check on my left hip . I don't live close I live on grand Island ....They told me i have to pay 100 dollars ...how about telling people ahead of time they are going to have to pay this? I did not have the money so they refused to see me i believe the only concern they have for me is the money not weather my hip is healing correctly Really made me mad im going some where else ps i offered to mail the money in to them

Negative experience: I can only give one star..called on October 12th for an initial appointment..first available appointment October 30th!!! I don’t need therapy in 18 days! I need it now! Cant be cleared to go back to work until I’m seen! I do realize covid changes how many people can be in the big room..but, an 18 day wait time is crazy!

Negative experience: Shame on this place the people who work here. I came in for my 1 year old son. I had both of my children with me who are 11 months apart. If you’re a mother then you already understand how challenging it can be. With my kids standing there crying the receptionist told me I could not go into a room until I filled out certain forms... clearly I wasn’t able to fill out forms until I was in a room which they wouldn’t allow me to go into. They sent me home. If a mother was treated like this... I can’t even image how they treat the elderly or disabled.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wind was excellent. My son injured his knee. He had been treated by a doctor at a different provider who did not know what was wrong with his knee. After 3 months, I took him to two other doctors who also did not know what was wrong. Finally, we went to see Dr wind at UB Ortho on a Thursday. He immediately knew what was wrong. On Monday, he was in surgery and after 1 1/2 months of physical therapy he was back to playing sports. I would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Mom had an appt, the woman never actually put it in the system so she had to wait an extra long time to be seen. Took 45 mins to get the sign-in paperwork. Once she was brought back for the x-ray, the technician literally forced her to put her arm in a position that was excruciating, not once, but TWICE. She didn't know what was wrong with it but suspected it was dislocated or torn - why would you force a patient's arm like that? The actual doctor was very nice but the technician should not be handling patients with injuries.

Negative experience: Looks like I'm not alone in my bad experience. My appt was at 130 waited a hour to be called into an exam exam room were I waited another 10 mins. With an abrupt entry and a HI a woman with the personality of a wet mop asked me a few general questions gave me a pair of paper shorts told me to change and the Dr would be in shortly Waited another 20 mins and finally had enough got dressed and walked out without seeing the Dr. I lost a half days work a hour and half of my time and $25 copay so the way I see it they owe me about $300. I won't bold my breath trying to recoup it though.

Negative experience: I'm sitting in the waiting room waiting for an elderly friend of mine who had an appointment at UBMD. I have to say how shocked I am at the rudeness of the front desk staff at suite 108. They are trash talking patients saying how dumb they are and can't read signs, talking and laughing so loudly it's distracting. A gentleman came into the office to make a physical therapy appt and a young lady at the front desk rudely told this guy she can't make appts they're check in only, that he had to call and make the appt. Meanwhile a nice woman said "sir if you walk through this hallway physical therapy is right down that way and they should be able to help you." Bless that woman!! Your job is to help patients if you can't do that with no attitude find a different job! I work in the medical field and I'm appalled at this unprofessional behavior!! Your front desk staff reflects your office and are the first people that patients come in contact with. I am not a patient this office and I will never be based on the behavior of this front desk staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for several years for problems with my right shoulder. I was originally seen by Dr. Rauh for two years. What an amazing man he is! You don’t feel like you’re at the doctor when you go to see him. I always felt like I was going to visit a friend. He’s hilarious and I never felt rushed or misunderstood. He knew my concerns were real. After humming and hawing about having surgery, I finally decided to do it. He was caring and always available during the process. Unfortunately, due to my regular participation in an extreme sport, I injured my shoulder again. I needed a surgery that was out of his expertise and he referred me to Dr. Matthew Binkley. Dr. Matthew Binkley (his wife is also a surgeon at UB Ortho) is my second godsend in this practice. He’s noticeably personable, and again, I feel like I’m going to visit a friend. He was very honest in my first meeting with him. He gave me several options on how to proceed. What I’ve noticed and admire most about Dr. Binkley’s office is that I never see a PA. When you check in, the receptionists at the front desk don’t yell across the waiting room to have you go wait in a suite. Someone personally comes and gets you and you’re not waiting in the second waiting room at all. They room you right away. I called him about a concern the night after my surgery and he personally called me back. He doesn’t hand off his work to anyone else. And Carrie, who is his receptionist, is wonderful! I enjoy talking to her because she’s so friendly! Though I still miss Dr. Rauh and his hilarious antics, I could not be happier with Dr. Binkley as well. They’re both top-notch physicians. And I’m glad they’re both young so I can count on them for many more years to fix my poor body after I abuse it in my sport!

Negative experience: Dr Heidi Suffoletto needs to find employment where she would not have contact with people. Her complete lack of care and empathy is appalling. When a patient is in massive pain and you do absolutely nothing to help them, is a breach of the code of ethics a doctor must show towards a patient. After weeks and weeks of pain and suffering, finally a caring Doctor from another practice has stepped in to help us. I hope you rethink your path of being a Doctor and save patients stress, pain and a horrible a experience of having you in charge of their care.

Negative experience: If you like to be scheduled incorrectly 3+ Times this is the place for you ! Initial appointment was told a 11:30 appointment was available but due to the distance away we wouldn’t make it in time so it was changed to noon just to get there and be told it’s noon the next day. Second time coming in for pre-op clearance and paper signing waiting 2 hours !!! Just to see the provider with no one approaching us to apologize for the wait or to say the Dr. is running behind. The third time we are scheduled for surgery at ECMC for a 6am arrival & 7:30 surgery. Guess what! Someone else was also scheduled then for a procedure that will last until noon! It is now noon going on 12 hours with no medication for pain, anything to drink or eat as your not aloud before surgery. This place needs to retrain their scheduling staff because they absolutely suck at their job!!!

When we decided on the fusion, she was just as thorough and informative. I’m six weeks passed surgery and feeling good. Dr. Gurske-DePerio is as good as it gets.
