Positive experience: Had my surgery in April, everything from start to finish was so smooth I felt very taken care of by the staff, n the healing and recovery was nice and fast, the only issue I have is that my insurance ended up paying for my procedure and some appointments that I had already paid for so I over paid and they still haven't refunded any of my money. They told me 3-5 business days and it's been about 2 months.

Negative experience: Do not get your surgery here ,if you have complications you end up needing additional care it becomes a cash situation 1 year later still obese and now I have damage nerve wise in my stomach apparently causing me to not be able to poop or pee due to this and unfortunately I have to start care over, unless you are rich don’t bother going to them

PWLC in my opinion is the best place nation wide. You are well taken care off from day one, all the way after surgery and beyond. I wish i would have done this sooner but i am glad i did. in just over 6 weeks i have lost over 35lbs and feeling amazing. If you have any questions i personally advice you to call them and ask away. you will be glad you did.

Positive experience: I had a very good experience with PWLC. The surgery was done well. I didn't have any complications. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering bariatric surgery. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is I felt like the office was a little unorganized. I didn't received information in a timely manner. All appointments were done virtually. (I prefer face to face) I would also prefer all information and costs up front. It was too sporadic for me. Nevertheless, I would still go back to them and recommend them. The surgeons are top notch.

Negative experience: The doctors and nurses were extremely helpful. If you do consider Panhandle Weight Loss Center, be sure that your Prior Authorizations are approved for specific date of surgery. The Surgery Coordinator did not do her job correctly and I am now receiving a bill for $53,000.00 when this surgery should have been at no cost to me because my maximum out of pocket was met at the beginning of the year. I was told everything was good to go and PA was approved, only to find out 2 months later, someone did NOT do their job. ABSOLUTELY LIVID!!!!

Negative experience: Reading the reviews I was super excited to start my journey. I called spoke with the receptionist. Gave all of my information and was told I would receive a call by 5pm that day. No call , I called back two days later was giving the excuse my ID number was incorrect I should get a call by 11am. I called back 3 days later was given the same excuse I’ll get a call by 11am they will be working on this now. No call again. Did I mention my initial call was June 7th and I have still not gotten a call. If you treat someone trying to be a new patient this way. How would I be treated after my surgery if I have questions, concerns or an emergency. So this experience has made me say. Thank you but No Thank you. I’ve already called my insurance company and know they cover it and even told them that still No return call. Not a chance I’m willing to take with my life

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Dr. Blu and Piper to anyone considering weight loss surgery. They really took the time to help me make an informed decision as to what was best for me as I suffer from several complex medical conditions. I am three months post-op from a duodenal switch and don't regret my decision one bit. I've lost 54 pounds and have a new lease on life. I've been doing televists with Wendy post surgery due to COVID and she's been so supportive. Chelsey is my dietician and she's been wonderful with helping me modify my diet to meet my gastroparesis needs. I just wish I took this step way sooner instead of procrastinating for so long. Seriously, don't wait! Take that first step. You won't regret it.

I had most of my appointments online due to travel, that was super convenient because I have a small toddler. Everyone I interacted with was incredible to me! Professional Anointed and so motivating! Then the surgery center was just as incredible. It gave me so much peace to have a team that was so dedicated to me and my journey. Having Christian men that know they are nothing without God and bold enough to speak and pray for their patient. My husband and I were both treated so well. I live 4 hours away and I would travel to them no matter what.

He went through the info of the surgery with my husband and I, then asked to pray with me! I had no fears, felt like I was in good hands! After surgery I had some concerns, and their office was always there to help answer my questions! I would absolutely recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: It was a scary thought, having surgery, but it was important and necessary. My weight, blood sugar, blood pressure, and so many things were out of control. I was on a lot of different medicines. Dr. Bo visited with me during my first visit. H stressed how this surgery was a tool for weight loss. I would still need to change th way I eat and, of course, exercise. I've had regular checkups with the nurse practitioner and the dietician both before and after the surgery. Everyone is so supportive and helpful! Since the surgery, about six weeks ago, I'm almost completely off my insulin and I am off my heartburn medicine. I sleep much better and my husband says I haven't had sleep apnea. I have lost two full sized in clothes and I feel better than I have in a long time.
