Negative experience: If I could rate this hospital 0 stars I will. This hospital is so unprofessional, the lady infront of the desk has such a terrible attitude I couldn’t even ask a question without her sounding so defiant. Also I stood here waiting 5 hrs just to get my examination result. I kept trying to check in with the doctor but they just have such poorly customer service. They told me that nothing is holding me back to stay but can’t give me my results to check if anything was fractured. If you live around this area be prepared to go in a such unprofessional environment.

Fantastic experience: We had a really great experience at Same Day Surgery. Special shout out to Nurse Jonathon. He was with us every minute of a long 12 hour day. He was so kind, understanding and attentive. In fact, everyone we interacted with was the same way. I know there are a lot of negative reviews but this was not the case for us. We appreciate everyone that helped us throughout the day. Keep up the great work!

Negative experience: My son is non verbal and autistic, I told the staff he can’t sit for long periods. We have been here since 8am and now is 1230 pm over 4 hours with no communication no nothing . He is the only kid in here while they taking all the junkies and crack heads but only gave my son some Tylenol for his fever . He done threw up all over there floor and still can’t take him . The most ghetto hospital I’ve been at if I can rate a negative I would while staff smacking there food laughing while everyone sick do better smh

Negative experience: This use to be a good hospital I don't know what happened, I've never been to an emergency room where there are only 4 nurses, my wife asked for an extra blanket for my dad and instead of the nurse bringing it and covering my dad with it she hands to my wife I was just to out done um news flash SHE DOESN'T WORK HERE !!!! I'm looking at the food tray with rust on it and a rusty soiled linen bin purely unbelievable, knats flying around, this place should be permanently closed as it is pathetic .

Negative experience: Worse place to send your family. My mom was sent to the emergency November 30 she returned home December 1 complaining her arm hurts .the needle where they hook you up to IV was still in her arm. The nurse had to tell my sister on how to remove the needle. So unprofessional. My mom was wrapped in hospital blankets so she had been home for hours before my sister found the needle.

Negative experience: During my visit to this facility, I interacted with a front desk staff member named Elizabeth who works at Family Birth Place Unfortunately, I found her behavior to be rude and unprofessional. She lacked proper communication skills, which left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the service. As a result, my experience at the facility was significantly impacted in a negative way. I believe that customer service is an important factor in the overall experience at any location, and I feel that this particular staff member’s behavior did not align with the standards I would expect from a professional setting. Negative experience: Terrible Hospital This hospital fired all their Midwives and Family Doctors. Shame on you. Midwives were around much longer and much higher success rates of positive burg outcomes than Doctors with poor to little actual care.
Negative experience: I just heard the absolute worst news today that West Sub has removed all midwifes from PCC to deliver at your hospital. The only reason I chose to give birth at this hospital was because I wanted an unmedicated birth with my midwife from Pcc. I was adamant that I wanted all my babies to be born at your hospital after experiencing the absolute best birth experience, all thanks to my midwife who delivered my daughter in August. I hope you change this poor decision.

Negative experience: My son and I have been here since 11:00 am, it's 7:02 and we're still sitting without knowing the results of his urine test, flu test or covid. My son arrived with vomiting, diarrhea and they don't give him any kind of help. I got up to ask many times how much longer we have to wait, they don't know and I told them that I, the mother of the sick man, has to go to another job. That was at 5:00 pm and the nurse told me you can go, your son is an adult. (I ask the nurse if she has a sick relative, would she leave him alone in the emergency room?). They have treated other patients who came after my son and even left and we are still here. Nobody knows anything, they just ignore me when I ask them. Terrible.

Negative experience: Took my mom to the hospital last night because she fainted and didn't feel good. Waited in the waiting room for 6 hours and still no results. Ask the front desk about the wait time, mumble something slick under her breath.My mom is 82 years old can't stay up more than midnight. I called the next morning for the results , operator doesnt even pick up the phone. Ridiculous!!!

Negative experience: Worst hospital ever. My daughter just recently had her baby here. Worse experience ever. We will start with condition dirty in front garbage everywhere over 100 cigarette butts all over statue by emergency room even a used needle on the ground. We shall move on she was in labor for over two days which is normal for a first baby but in the days we were there i literally cleaned her room in labor and delivery and in recovery not once did housekeeping come in the floors were so dirty that my feet were black from walking on them. One of the worse parts was after she had epidural they wanted her in a position to help descend baby but they sent a 36 week pregnant nurse and a very small nurse to move her which they did nothing my daughter from waist down numb had to pull herself pregnant and numb got so wore out from this it caused her to hyper ventilate and throw up. Never ever have i seen such a horrible hospital. The only thing good about it were a few of the nurses. In particular Kevin Kim and Melissa were the best. That is the only reason this got one star. And never has the hospital even reached out to us.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars would!! My Mother and Aunt was stuck in the elevator listening to the lady answer the phone and hang up multiple times on my cousin who was simply concerned about her family and trying to get help for them! My Aunt was kicking the door multiple times hurting her knee in the process, while hearing someone say what is that, then proceeded to come to elevator and ask are you stuck. What kind of hospital are y'all running? What kind of people do y’all have working there? When they asked for the names of the person who kept hanging up the phone in order to make an incident report and also the contact information of the person in charge, they were told to google it!! Seriously, someone needs to take a look into the service that is being provided by the staff and security! If they don’t like their job, get rid of them and hire people who actually care to help instead of employees who thinks it’s okay to hang the phone leaving people stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes! By the time they were able to exit the elevator they were in so much pain from standing that long at the tender age they are. There was NO reason my cousin should have to call the fire department in which she did for help when maintenance was present in the hospital!! DO BETTER OR SHUT IT DOWN!!!

Fantastic experience: Devyani Chawla, MD is the truth I love her. I went in today to get my iud removed and to get the nexplanon implanted. She did everything with ease. She made me feel so comfortable. When I tell you I had got my iud replaced 3 times at cook county hospital and every time was traumatic. Even the removal process. I really do believe Dr. Devyani should go over and school/train them in that department, because my whole experience was different. Doc I really appreciate everything I'm so happy to have had you do my procedure. Give this lady a raise and a promotion she really does deserve it. Every visit with her is relaxing, she knowledgeable, informative and she really does seem to care about her patients. I really wish I could do more than just leave a review, she really does deserve more.

Fantastic experience: We chose West Suburban Sub-Acute Rehab for my elderly mother who had recently suffered a fall and was very weak. She needed help rebuilding strength and re-learning how to get up out of bed and walk with the assistance of a walker. All of the staff at West Suburban SAR were kind, helpful, and very good at their jobs, but more than that, they charmed my mother and had her up and walking. They taught her how to get dressed, use a tub transfer bench, safely go up and down stairs, and so much more. Because she has dementia, they had to gently but constantly remind her of what she needed to do in order to be safe. The staff were professional but also loving. They are truly caregivers in the most noble sense of the word. The doctor on staff called me after hours on her own time to discuss my mother's care. In addition to the amazing therapy and nursing staff, Helen the social worker helped our family through the painful and confusing process of finding a supportive living facility, going through the Medicaid process, and taught me so much of what I need to know to navigate this next phase of my mother's life. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She also helped me have difficult conversations with my mother about this transition. I feel very very lucky that we found the SAR at West Suburban for my mother.

Negative experience: I worked for them for a few days before realizing this company and their work environment wasn't for me. Though I've requested they mail me my check for the time I was there two months later they still haven't. The feeling I had about this company was correct. There is always a reason a company has a high turn overrate.
Fantastic experience: I always get good treatment here. The doctors are skillful and professional. Never a long wait to get into the office when I have an appointment. The staff members who set appointments are polite and efficient. The nurses are efficient and friendly. I see my DO at six to eight week intervals, so I visit often. The Quest lab is convenient and thorough.

Negative experience: My mom is there now it's going on 3wks coming this Sunday. She's not getting the proper care at all. When they clean my mom up they use wipes instead of soap and water because they are cutting cost from what the lady told me that was cleaning her up. That is un called for. We will be taking her out of there hopefully today. Into a much better hospital

Negative experience: This is a horrible hospital they staff are terrible even the nurses my husband was in this hospital all day for surgery they couldn’t do the surgery do to heart complications but the heart doctor NEVER CAME to see him then they serve everybody in the hospital the exact same meal no choice it’s a low grade hospital I would not recommend TERRIBLE TERRIBLE IT NEEDS FUNDING OR SOMETHING

Negative experience: This hospital almost let me die. I waited in waiting room for at least 8hrs and dr tried to discharge me with endometriosis pain and I had to refuse to leave in order for them to do a ct scan. They put me alone in the fast track area in a recliner until they got the results and two people came rushing in and brought me back to their er and put a blood transfusion band on but didn’t tell me why and just said they had to call a dr in and he will talk to you about it. He came in and said my abdomen was full of blood from waiting all day and I needed emergency surgery. I was sitting in there with internal bleeding all day and the medical staff didn’t believe me because I wasn’t panicking. This hospital will let you die unless you advocate for yourself

Fantastic experience: I was born at west suburban in 1951 The doctor had the nerve to slap me on the rear and make me cry. I had a much better time in 1964 when I had an operation. I had so much fun I didn't want to go home.
Negative experience: Don’t understand why they take so long!! From 6pm until 3am!! My baby was in so much pain!! I understand it’s first in and first out but to have her sitting in the waiting room vomiting and never call her name is ridiculous!! We left without any results but I definitely know I still will get charged for it!! West Suburban get it together!! Please

Negative experience: I had a very poor experience. I was very excited to have my baby at your hospital but today’s experience put a damper on my choice. Your ultrasound tech in the radiologist department was extremely rude. My baby was crying, granted I assumed my session was almost over so I was okay with leaving. But another tech was called in who did the same exact thing as the previous tech. No mention of an issue and I didn't want to rush anyone that seem rude. This did prolong the session, no explanation why a 2nd tech was needed. A 3rd tech came in and suggested to my partner and children’s father. He wasn’t nice or professional. He said “why don’t you take the baby in the hall.” If the baby is crying the hall wasn’t a wise idea. Things would of been worse and the entire wing would of heard. My partner opted not to. He suggested staying would be better. I was gearing up to go because of the 3rd tech's aggressive tone. The tech snatched his glasses off and acted angry “how would you feel if you heard a baby crying on this floor” again very rude. I would have been happy to leave. No issues, I wasn’t offended until he came in rude and nasty. He challenged my partner and the conversation was getting heated. It was disastrous and disrespectful. It was a better way to speak. Asking my partner what kind of man was he because he wanted to stay with us and he also agreed taking the baby into the hall way would cause a bigger disturbance. We were happy to go. I started grabbing my items and ended the session early. He hollered about policy and accused us of not following it. There’s no policy against children. I felt ashamed of bringing my baby and I felt for my partner because he was sized up, disrespected and then told he was being disrespectful when he was responding to what was going on. The policy was never mentioned and there’s nothing against children in the policy. It was a horrible experience. I read great things about WSH so I wanted to come. For my next appointment I’m seriously considering requesting a different place or going to someone else as a whole. This was a horrible experience. We deserved respect and to be talked to like the adults we are. “How would you like a baby crying in your ear and you’re sick. Go in the hall with your baby.” Amongst other things were just so unnecessary. I hope he treats others better. You can't accuse someone of being aggressive and turn around and get upset when they defend themself. This was avoidable. I excused myself and it was still an issue. Horrible way to treat someone coming to get an ultrasound. I'm worried about coming back at this point.

Negative experience: My son is in the PCU as I write this. This place is awful. Although he was seen quickly in the ER, that was the high point. They admitted him. There is no soap in his room or bathroom, the staff walks in and out without disinfecting their hands. The facilities are run down. The nurse is rude and dismissive. He is here to be monitored following an injury but isn’t connected to monitors. They don’t check on him for hours and he can’t get an answer about when a test will be conducted or when he will be able to leave. When he inquired, he was told, “I told you, it will happen when it happens.” I feel like he’s being kept here so they can bill insurance for another day. Worst experience ever.

Negative experience: I walked into the ED and both front desk ladies didn't want to help me. The first one was eating at her desk telling the other ladies... "Can you take the check-in because I'm looking in a chart". And the second one told me to hold on while she was on her personal cell phone at the front desk. Service slow, they show no empathy, and the damn wait time is terrible. This hospital sucks so bad and if I could've made it to another hospital, I would've. This hospital isn't the same anymore.

Negative experience: Worst part about Oak Park. Waited 2 hours in the emergency waiting room. Everyone is so rude. One gentleman was waiting 8 hours and still didn’t see a Dr. we left and went to another hospital.

Negative experience: If I could give it less I would. I brought my daughter in because she had a rash all over her body. I was told emergency room was pretty full and would need to wait, not a problem I was willing to wait to get my baby checked. She was seen at triage area, and just a Look and was told she got some allergic reaction on her skin or touched something that caused her to break out. My instinct told me otherwise and I explained to them that in previous instances when she got a similar rash it was strep throat. She never got taken for any test or bloodwork and was discharged with a simple skin allergic reaction. Next day she woke up with a fever and her rash was worse took her to another hospital and turned out my daughter had scarlet fever. Their lack of attention to what was told to them , and not testing her for any viral infections got my daughter sent home with a wrong diagnosis, that if left untreated could’ve turned out very serious. I felt rushed like they wanted her out to deal with whatever they had going on. That’s uncalled for, and will not be taking my kids there ever again.

Fantastic experience: Really appreciated the nurse and midwife staff were amazing. Took really good care of me and my husband during a very trying birth of our daughter this past week. So grateful for Alicia, Tracey, Emily, Emon, Annette, Mary, Lauren, Janae and Marshay and Joseph a true rock star! There were also a host of doctors that I can not all remember their names.

Fantastic experience: My clinic for medical care and pharmacy, the pharmacy staff ladies have been here a very long time, the 2 sweetest ladies I ever met always nice and smiley with a friendly approach, helpful and I love their welcoming spirit towards their clients. Negative experience: I took my daughter to this ER as I always loved this hospital. We arrived at 6 pm they took her vitals then put her in the waiting room knowing my daughter was in excruciating pain. 3 hours later they called us back to a room dumped us in there and we never saw a soul for 45 minutes.. nobody came to adjust the gurnee for her to relax on there was no pillow or blanket or even a TV to watch to pass time. We only saw a Dr because I had to wonder threw the ER to find someone to come look at my daughter or give us test results . The Dr finally came only because I was very upset at what had happened to tell me they want to run more tests to rule out a ruptured appendix... this was now at 11 pm 5 hours after we arrived... with no reason to run such tests as she had no symptoms for that... I immediately left with my daughter took her to another ER was in and out in 45 minutes with medicine for a kidney infection.. this hospital was filthy, had homeless people doing drugs in the ER waiting room restrooms, (which were also filthy) and had a man sitting there drinking beer. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT I. THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN.

Negative experience: This hospital truly is one of the worst on the west side. I’ve been there a few times before and the visits were smooth but yesterday I had a hospital visit and got there at 8:38am. I as well as a few who were there BEFORE ME, didn’t get called to the ER until 3pm. I will not be back to west suburban

Fantastic experience: I had hip replacement surgery and this facility is great and the staff is fantastic. I'm only putting a review in here because all the reviews were for emergency room none were for the hospital, this place is not bad. I was scared by all the reviews for emergency room so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best and the best is what I got.

Negative experience: I’ve been in this hospital since 1am with my son and still here and now its 2pm I hit the nurse button multiple times nobody came then I seen one of the nurses peeking through the door trying to see if I was in the room with my son, she couldn’t tell if I was in the room or not because I was behind the curtain if I would’ve never knocked on the glass she would’ve never came in to check on my son, then I hit the call button again nobody came I went out to take a picture now here come the nurse rolling her eyes very unprofessional I told her my son had questions she constantly saying she’s dealing with an critical patient and isn’t available to answer my sons questions, but literally not doing anything but sitting here talking about their personal business at work and I heard them tell another patient because he complained that he be waiting even longer just because he complained these ppl are really devious and unprofessional this is my first and last time visiting this hospital .

Negative experience: Disgusting, nasty, and horrible! Worst hospital to ever give birth! These are photos of the room you are placed in after giving birth. I made it to the hospital at 8am in which I was already 6 centimeters dilated. After consistently asking for my epidural, I didn’t receive it until 2:45pm 8 centimeters dilated. I begged and cried for hours and the only thing they could tell me was “something came up”. I had my son at 3:08 pm! This was the worst experience ever. So much more went on, but Il be writing for days. They also lost my baby footprints and thought it would be ok to just make some more!! No!!! They found them after looking for an hour!! DO NOT HAVE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: I chose my Healthcare at West Suburban Hospital more that 25 years ago . I have found a wonderful team of doctors and nurses who I trust with preventative and invasive care decisions. The customer care has always been helpful and respectful. I feel like I have true input in the decisions about my medical decisions and treatments. I do not hesitate to advocate for myself and that has worked for me.

Negative experience: It's said when you go to a hospital to get help ,and you have to wait 6hour or more just to see a doctor, now I'm not going to say the whole hospital but the emergency ppls ,the doctor didn't ex didn't examine or giving her husband no x-rays he just came in and gave him a shot for pain and told him to get his papers when he leave that's it, didn't touch him or ask him he ask three questions and came back and gave him a shot. There are some nice nurses there,he didn't no it was his kidneys we went to another hospital. Don't just give someone something and don't examine them. It's not right.

Negative experience: This hospital don’t deserve not even 1 star I did one is because i have to write my very very bad experience with this hospital, I took my brother because he have a stomach pain very strong I took it around 3:00am they did a ultrasound then they released him around 9:30 they Said he’s ok nothing wrong with him, but my brother still having the pain, he went home but later he received a call from hospital, they said he need to come back to the hospital they need to do more test because they found something, we came back to the hospital we get here at 11:00 and right now is 7:49pm and we still in the lobby waiting and my brother still in pain because they don’t want to give anything for the pain , not even Tylenol, I have to go to Walgreens to buy Tylenol, really don’t don’t recommend this hospital if you’re in emergency room please go some place else, if you don’t want to wait like me 8 hours in the lobby, and also staff is so rude if you mention to them you’re been here for 10 hours they answered back I know they don’t care if your in pain or Not, this is no like a hospital is looks like the WIC Office you wait for so long , suppose to be emergency room but is not ,but they’re ready to send the bill to your health insurance, when they suppose to give a discount for waiting 10 hours in the lobby.

Negative experience: When you go in the emergency room and can barely breathe or walk they don't get you in a wheelchair and after they take your vitals and blood samples and urine sample and do an EKG, they have you to sit in the waiting room with 9 other's waiting on a bed and you may not get a bed that night AND bed in the waiting room all night long.

Fantastic experience: The staff and care I received at West Suburban Hospital in the GI Lab on 01/03/2024 was EXCELLENT! Everyone caring for me was amazing! I had a pleasure meeting Cynthia Buchta, who was very friendly and provided help when I needed it. My care team were all amazing, from pre procedure nurse Clauber, I do not remember all the people in the room with me, but also the post-procedure nurse Marcela was amazing! She was attentive, really helped me understand my post operative report, explained in detail what I needed to do, and most importantly she listened to all of my questions and concerns. Dr. Heydarpour - a special thank you to you! This is my second time seeing Dr. Heydarpour, but I have been visiting the GI Lab at West Suburban for over 20 years, and it never disappointed. The care and the team were then and still are amazing! Thank you for all that you do!

Negative experience: Tried going here for an emergency with my 10 month old. All I got from the desk person was “it’s a at least a 6 hr wait, you sure you wanna wait?” As if trying to turn me away. I didn’t see but less than 10 people in the waiting room. But based on the way I was greeted we left right away to a different ER. I would expect better to be in Oak Park.

Negative experience: This by far is the worst hospital I have ever been in. I was in a car accident and I was here with my kids. I saw new people come in and go I’m before me. The lady that checked me in was really rude when I told her my daughter had back pain she stated she closed my daughters chart so now I have to wait for the doctor to see us that I can let them know and wait for her to get X-rays, when she could of had this done before seeing the doctor. I definitely will not come here ever again. All the people before me said they kept taking people that came after it seems like they don’t have a good way to keep track of the patients.

Positive experience: it was years ago... I went to the emergency to get a bb gun bullet taken out of my left thigh and they said they couldn't take it out.. they said because it was to close to my bone but in 2014 at the same hospital with an appointment a doctor removed the bullet... back in 2003 or 2004 when I had the bullet in my thigh they could've refered me to some doctors that could've probably been able to take it out but they didn't! I was living with a bullet in my left thigh since 2003 or 2004 to 2014 all because I was told no when I went to the emergency room and because I was denied to take the bullet out of my thigh... the nurse didn't even tell me to try somewhere else, to make an appointment with a doctor there or somewhere else and other things to do... maybe help a person out more... maybe not be a racist either... maybe do better in caring for a person to... but in 2014 a doctor removed the bullet out of my left thigh... and his question was... why they didn't remove the bullet at the time that I went to the emergency room?.... overall, don't be racist at the emergency room and care for others as if it was you that it happened to

Negative experience: Waited 6 hours in the ER and didn’t get seen!!!!!Worst experience of my life. Don’t go here if you are really needing urgent care because you will not get it here. The staff is not helpful as they will not give you water or a cold towel if you need it. When we asked about water they said there was a vending machine. Aren’t hospitals supposed to provide patients with water at least. I waited for 6 hours with the possibility of my gallbladder exploding and I had to leave in order to find care elsewhere. There was a patient who peed on the seat and they didn’t event clean it properly. No sanitation or disinfection was used. You should see the bathroom with dookie stains on the seat and pee on the floor. This place is not it. It seems instead of admitting or releasing patients to make room for more they just take their time and bill their hours. This is not the emergency room to go to if you have an emergency.

Fantastic experience: I stayed at West Suburban in Oak Park this past week for 3 days due to kidney stones. I’m not out of the clear yet, but I was fortunate to have an amazing team of nurses and doctors. Wait time from originally getting there to getting a room in ER then being moved to upstairs did take some time, but I mean it’s a hospital right? A field in need of more doctors and nurses every day, too many patients, it’s expected to have to wait, so I’m not bothered by that because every time I got one step farther, I really felt like I was taken care of! I just want to give a special thank you to the very team who helped take care of me during my stay: My ER nurse Kristina (you are awesome). Erika who initially explained my CT results to me and Matt who did my CT scans. Nina and a man (I forgot his name but he had long hair and was a breath of fresh air so to say, you were very sweet too Nina!) who transported me between rooms. My morning shift RNs Ellen and Cathy (you both are incredible women/nurses). My pre-op team we didn’t engage too long but long enough to appreciate you all- Rowina (sorry if I misspelled your name), Donna and Sephi (sorry if I misspelled your name also). I don’t remember much after I went under but leading up to my procedure you were all wonderful and really made me feel at ease going into it. I’ve been told hospital food is the worst, but I was fortunate to have some great dishes (thank you to the cooks Maurina & Tony) and I enjoyed picking my meals out on the phone with Charlene! Christyana Honey, you are a complete sweetheart! Kemberly (night shift patient care tech), I am so blessed to have met you and have you on my nursing team. I thank God for letting us cross paths, you are heaven sent!! You helped me in more ways than you can possibly know. Thank you Kemberly:) Last but least, Dr. Leeland, you are absolutely the best. I had so many questions and you listened to every single one and really answered them well. You explained everything to me perfectly and you even drew a diagram so I could physically see what is going on inside of me. You spoke with such ease and reassurance. You checked on me the next morning too and didn’t rush to leave my room. You have no idea how much that means to me. Looking forward to seeing you in 2 weeks for my follow-up!!

Negative experience: First, I would like to say I am surprised with the treatment my grandmother received from the 7am-7pm ICU nurse by the name of vanessa that was suppose to care for her. My grandmother was having issues speaking clearly for a few days. Within those few days she was also NPO. They First day my grandmother was off NPO restrictions and was able to talk a little bit, when asking the nurse for water she was told you need to say "please". When I asked my grandmother has she told you that before she stated "yes" In front of me my grandmother asked for water and nurse vanessa said say please. So I asked if she can't say please the what happens. she never responded which makes me think With her being with it some days and someday not If my grandmother who is 89 years old forget or can't remember to say please will not get the proper care needed from. Negative experience: I have never been to West Suburban Medical center but apparently they are the billing partner for Weiss where I had my surgery. As far as billing goes they are unethical and possibly criminal. I put a deposit down for my surgery and it was never applied to my surgery cost. They admit they owe me a refund but keep telling me they can't give me a timeline for when I will receive it. The billing reps say they will call me back and NEVER DO. If this place were to go bankrupt I wouldn't be surprised with how they run things. Absolutely the worst thing I have never experienced with a billing provider. I am about to go to their offices and sit there until they write me a check for 2k that they owe me. RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN!

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient at West Sub since I was 13 years old. At almost 40 years of care and 4 children (all birthed here) later, I’ve been here through the many changes…partnerships with Loyola University medical center, changes in management and ownership. There have been ups and downs but it’s never been this bad. My PCP left over a year ago and I should’ve left with him. I’ve had plenty of gripes with West Sub but this latest is the last straw! I’ve been trying to make a mammogram appointment for well over a month now. I’d been calling the main appointment number and even left my number for a call back. Last week after leaving my eye appointment, I went next door to the River Forest breast care center to make an appointment. I was told that appointments can’t be made in person and that I’d have to call. After explaining to the woman at the desk that I’ve been doing that with no success. She gave me two different numbers to call and stated someone would give a call back, if there was no answer. I did that and guess what, still no call back. Well today, I FINALLY had success, if you can call it that. After being on hold for 31 minutes, Claudia answered and scheduled my appointment. The appointment isn’t until February 20th of NEXT YEAR! So much for my annual mammogram. Why is it so hard to make appointments to get the care you need?!

Fantastic experience: First, I want to say that I am very surprised by the care we received in the ER at West Suburban, but in particular, by one of their EMT’s named Luis, who allowed us to call him Lou. This young man needs a raise! My daughter was not feeling well and in a lot of pain, nevertheless, it was the staff who made a difference. Again, in particular, Luis. We were very skeptical at first in visiting West Sub, as their reputation hasn’t been the best, the risk paid off. Right away we were seen in a room by a nurse and then sent to have an EKG and blood work done by Lou. With a smile, he put us at ease, even going along with our jokes. My lord, when I tell you, my daughter has the worst veins, they usually poke her more than once however, for Luis it took him only one try and she said she didn’t even feel it!!! This young man was really busy and could be seen running around, but always with a good sense of humor. He also frequently came to check on us and his other patients, and boy was the house full! But the one memory we will not forget was how Luis came out of his station to ask the front desk girl for a couple who had just left. Immediately, other patients pointed him to the direction where they left and he bolted out into the rain. He came back soaked but with an elderly woman he immediately wrapped with blankets. It just warmed my heart! Yes, it was a long wait, but it was worth it. We got the medicine we needed the same day, and my daughter feels better. Thank you, Lou, for being kind and am proud of this hospital for turning its service around by hiring people like him.

Negative experience: 0 stars. My wife went to the ER for miscarriage “care.” More of a sleezy club vibe than a hospital. Security, nurses, and other staff loudly laughing and cursing as if patients in pain aren’t a few feet away. Sociopathic behavior. At a hospital of all places. Shame. Shame on these people for allowing TWENTY HOURS to pass before they gave my wife and I radiology results- EIGHT of those hours waiting in the hospital. We checked in at 6PM. Because of this sensitive matter, they told us that it was supposed to be a STAT order, but they later admit it had NOT been labeled that way. They then updated the order to STAT, yet still no results for hours. It is now 2AM. We were asked to sign a form that stated we were being discharged against doctor's orders, because they could not give an estimate as to when we would get results. We go home. It's 2PM the next day, and we finally get a call with results. “No, thank you,” we say. My wife and I CLEARLY know the results at this point. It’s now been a week and they send us a letter offering assistance since they “understand you are not insured.” Yes, we are insured. West Suburban never asked for insurance. My wife actually finally VOLUNTEERED the information the night she was in the hospital. She walked to the desk in her gown, and they jotted it down with a PEN on a POST-IT. Another week later, it was revealed that they STILL didn’t have the information. What sort of establishment is this? Why would they assume that we are uninsured? As a disappointed longtime Oak Park resident, and as a person who doesn’t want to see ANY patient from ANYWHERE unnecessarily suffer, I plan on sharing this review far and wide on my social media platforms and beyond. People like this should not be in positions to care for the health of others. Do not consider this hospital. Even a drive to an ER hours away would save you time, and you would have much better care. West Suburban is a perfect example of our broken medical system. Broken for far too long. Reviews sit at 2 stars, and they continue to provide absurdly terrible “care.” This sort of indecency and malpractice should not end with a google review. *as of today, 9/2/2023, the hospital continues to call, (text?), and snail-mail us about a no-insurance program. WE HAVE INSURANCE. We needed to tell them to bill our insurance as we left that night, as they never asked for it. They then jotted it down on a notepad…which was likely set aside? Thrown away? My wife spent hours on the phone with them explaining the insurance information to them again a few days ago. What is this place?
Negative experience: It’s ghetto, feels more like a hangout then a hospital, never going back there again, not sure if it’s the new generation or lack of quality workers but I wouldn’t recommend putting your health in this hospitals hands

Negative experience: If i can give 0 i would. Right now, 05/10/23 12:57, i am in a room in this ER having alllergic reaction from iv dye. My room is in front of the nurse’s station. I have asked for help a lot of times already but to no avail when all 3 nurses are just sitting and just talking.The ct tech even told them i am having an allergic reaction but nobody cares. I begged if i could speak to the doctor and they straight up told me no.A patient could die right now in front of them and they wouldn’t care at all. Again, i am here right now as i make this review!
Negative experience: I was in the emergency room with my father May 8th 2023. He was miserable and in immense pain. As we were waiting in one of the back rooms for his CT results the nurses, a fully uniformed cop, and even a Dr was at the desk discussing “booty calls” and what time to make them! They were cursing, laughing and making the most ignorant comments. It was ridiculously unprofessional. Isn’t there a time and place for everything? We’d already been waiting 5hrs to be seen and they made it worse. The cop was the worse one. I get the camaraderie between coworkers, but not being considerate to the patients and other people who could CLEARLY hear them behind the thin curtains is horrible. Completely ghetto

Positive experience: We took my grandmother to the ER, surprisingly our visit went great. Dr Randall and his team were very good with her and their bedside manner was awesome for it to have been 3 a.m. I’m giving only four stars because the room had a clogged sink and the door was broken, it definitely could have been much cleaner.
Negative experience: My best friend had the worst experience in the world here. The “doctors” couldn’t figure out a simple diagnosis after having him there for almost 4 days. Not only did they neglect him but they misdiagnosed and committed malpractice. They poked and prodded him for three days with little water and little attention. They didn’t even provide him with an IV to hydrate him when it was clear he was dehydrated. Then they proceeded to take chunks of skin from his right and left leg and proceeded to discharge him almost immediately with out any results from those biopsies. He went to a different hospital and they diagnosed him correctly within hours with just one blood sample. This establishment is a joke and a danger to men. Do not bring your family or friends here if you want them to be okay. Take them somewhere else.

Negative experience: I never leave reviews but DO NOT choose this hospital for prenatal care or for labor and delivery. There’s better hospitals with way better staff elsewhere. The facility itself is not up to par (the ultrasound room doesn’t have air conditioning, they have a very small mini fan the size of a hand blowing air… and that says it all). There’s so many red flags from the rude receptionists at the front desk of the hospital, to the unprofessional receptionist in the PCC office, to the ultrasound technicians that work for PCC. (The ultrasound technician tried to force an uncomfortable situation on me, then began to treat me badly when I stood up for myself, MY body, and MY baby. I will never be forced into going along with something I’m not comfortable with.) —unfortunately it’s a lot of women who’s put into uncomfortable situations in hospitals but choose to not speak up, I am not one of those women and I will not go with the flow when something doesn’t feel right to me. I would never recommend the PCC staff at this hospital to anyone. And I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. A bad experience overall. 0/10 do not recommend.

Negative experience: My sister was 31 years of age when she passed away at this hospital in 2016 we did not get a call informing us of her passing they just sent my only sister to the county morgue! I was at work one night and she kept running across my mind and I knew that I had to find her. I called everywhere looking for her and regretfully found her at the Cook county Medical Examiners office. Don't come here guys. Please don't. RIP Red.

Fantastic experience: First off, I want to express my overall gratitude to all the staff we encountered at West Suburban Medical Center. My daughter is a college athlete and injured her ankle which required surgery. I live in Florida and had to fly to Chicago to assist her with her recovery. When I read the reviews I was stumped on why her surgeon practiced at West Suburban. I am a registered nurse for over 20 years and a clinical nurse coordinator. I was petrified to have my daughter come to this facility. The old saying don’t judge a book by its cover was our experience. The building is outdated and a bit run down but there were nothing but gems inside. Every staff member we encountered in same day surgery was AMAZING!!! As a nurse I witnessed my daughter receive competent, proficient care with a smile. Very hard to find post Covid. I would like to give special thanks to Ana, Kiara, Eddie (nurses) Jordan(transport) Dr. Frank (anesthesia) and of course our surgeon Dr. McGann. Thanks for making a difference!!

Negative experience: would give ZERO STARS waiting time is literally 4-5 hours and that’s minimum just to take u to the back and wait another hour or 2 to be seen by doctor, they will literally let u die if that was the case. lack of communication between patients, staff & doctors

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for Lulu and the medical staff in triage and the pregnancy center. Lulu was courteous and helpful in delivering our baby. Shortly after our baby started to breath fast and shows signs of strain. She immediately recognized it and got our baby to the NICU because of that they were able to stabilize my daughter and potentially saved her in the process. We are so great full for all of the diligent work of Lulu and the nurses. Also a thank you to doctor Madison and her staff who helped patch up my girlfriend afterwords when she required surgery.

Positive experience: Arrived at the hospital for my niece's X Ray at the radiology department. Our experience there was excellent. Staff greeted us as we entered and provided us disposable masks. Some departments seem a little outdated, however the environment was well taken care of and clean. The X Ray staff were professional and attentive. The Tech provided quality care, and made sure my niece was comfortable and attended. :)

Negative experience: My daughter went in for a simple procedure last July, everything went fine. Six Months later we get a notice from a collections agency??? Billing never contacted us. NO Bill was ever sent to us. We would have paid. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, POORLY RUN!!!!

Negative experience: I received a demand letter from their collections company even though I never received a bill for services rendered almost a year ago that should have been covered 100% to begin with. I tried reaching the billing department over and over but nobody ever answers and the mailbox is always full.
Negative experience: I came to West Suburban because my colon was inflamed, while in their care I grew an abscess due to their unsanitary conditions. The water they give patients are contaminated. The IV were put in wrong by 6 different nurses. The medicine was not helping at all. I was getting worse by the day. I really believed they were trying to kill me. When I signed myself out after day 9 & came to Loyola. I got better in 3days. I’m so disgusted by this hospital & something really needs to be done. Please I ask everyone don’t go here for ANY CARE mostly black patients & they are not being taken care of. Stay away please‼️

Negative experience: My father survived cardiac arrest and was sent to west suburban. He left with a stage 4 bed sore, at risk for sepsis. Protocol for maintenance of turning him over to prevent bed sores was sub par. He was later sent to UChicago hospital and they were appalled with the previous care. West Suburban concealed the severity of the bed sore and the culpability of the staff. I understand that staff is overworked but there is no excuse for this negligence. I’m currently in communication with my lawyer.
Negative experience: The people were all nice. Their BILLING dept is an endless void of barren wasteland. I never received a bill. I tried calling to get a bill or how to pay because my insurance says there is an amount owed. All i get is music and a weird beeping sound. Am I waiting for someone? I don't know. Does anybody work here? Nobody to tell me yes or no. Still NO BILL. How do I pay? What is my account # to pay? HOW IS ANYBODY SUPPOSED TO PAY YOU!!! Rubbish! Then months later they have the audacity to send me to collections. I've been trying to pay you! ARGH!!! And holy cow collection agency knows how to reach me. So I paid collections once THEY sent me an amount and it matched my statement of benefits so it matched. Its a shame this is the closest place to me because now I'm afraid I'm on some bad list of folks that dont pay their bills and they'll just let me die. I'm so frustrated. I certainly cant be the only one. Sincerely, Someone who pays their bills.

Negative experience: If you have an emergency, please do come here! This hospital has really gone down the drain! It’s nasty, starting from the environment down to its employees. They do not have any work ethics and that includes some of its providers. They speak to you as if your not a human being and comes off to me as being very lazy. I pray when their bought out, the new owners would crack the whip and get rid of all the people who just comes to work to sit pretty and collect a pay check!

Negative experience: If I could give it 0 I would. Customer service is horrible. My one year had a fever of 103. We were there for hours. When I inquired about the wait, I was told people are in the back. But the next patient they called was a lady who hurt her knee. Was then sent to the PCC urgent care. They told me there was 15 people ahead with only 2 doctors. They said it would be hours and suggested I go somewhere else. I did and was seen and treated within 2 hours at Loyola urgent care

Negative experience: If I could give them a zero I would, Horrible Horrible place Do Not Go There! 2 elderly ladies were there since 9:30am and not yet seen at 6pm. The fast track was taking more than two hours. End of shift was there and they did not want to call anyone! There was a man rolling a marijuana blunt and if you are there with flu symptoms, nausea and a headache the smell will not help. I told the lady with red hair at the front desk and she replied, “and what do you want me to do? Tell security. The two bathrooms had no tissue and there was urine everywhere. Horrible place a big Zero!

Negative experience: The worst hospital ever and customer service sucks plus people hang up and call you rude for stating that they are very poor in service!! Plus I asked who I can speak to to let them know how you are treated and he stated that there is no one!! I have been waiting since 7am in the parking lot for someone that was scheduled for surgery and I am still waiting!! No one never called to say sorry but they are running behind or anything until the surgery was finally done at 1:30 pm!! Then called me again at 2:56 pm to say it will be another hour and a half!! I wouldn’t mind so much but I also have my mom that has dementia with me waiting too!! But they didn’t seem to care!!

Negative experience: I haven't personally been here, but know people who have. Absolutely terrible!!! That's being nice. Also you can't get thru to a patients room, because no one answers the phone. Literally rings 30, 40 times. I wouldn't send a rat there!!! Close it down already!!

Negative experience: Worst hospital. I had a relative wait 6 hours to get a room. They stayed at the hospital for six days. They came in with breathing issues and left with the same problems as before. I don't know why this hospital still exist if the doctors don't care to make their patients better. How can you let them go if they're not making progress to their recovery? Take your family or friends to another hospital.
