Negative experience: I went into my first class and was told someone would contact me in regard to starting sessions w them. I told them which session I preferred and was told by Memorial Wellness Center that someone would get in contact with me. I waited a couple weeks and no one EVER contacted me, so I finally called them. They apologized for not contacting me, however, said the classes already started weeks ago. Sorry is NOT enough. I do continue to see Emily to check in with how I am doing which so far I’ve only lost 3lbs, but I realize you got to start somewhere.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in, everyone was so kind! The nurse was sure to explain every tiny thing she did and why we were doing it. The provider I saw took her time and addressed my concerns on a personal level. I have lost 30 lbs since starting there in late January and couldn't be happier with my care!

Fantastic experience: The team at Memorial Weight Loss is amazing! Yes, there are a lot of requirements and appoints you have to meet prior to being approved for surgery, but putting the work in is so worth it. Weight loss surgery is not a quick or easy fix and they take the time to fully evaluate you physically and emotionally to ensure you will be successful. They focus on education and preparing you for your new normal while setting you up with a lifelong support system. Staff goes above and beyond…I had a rough patch during my recovery when I got COVID and Mono at the same time. The staff called me almost everyday to check in on me and see how I feeling. Knowing that they cared was incredibly reassuring and makes me feel comfortable being open and honest. If you’re looking to change your life with hard work and effort, this team can help you get there. If you’re just looking for an easy fix, this is not for you.

Negative experience: This place is a waste of time, especially if you have mental illnesses. they refused to get me into surgery and weight loss is important to me. If you have to take medication for mental health don't go here for weight loss surgery, they'll waste your time

Negative experience: Waaaaay too many appointments required. Saw the MD once or twice in the 9 months in was there. I was removed for a year for missing too many appointments btw, I believe it was 3. It’s a joke.

Negative experience: I had initially been declined in 2012 for financial reasons so I went back in 2018. Most of the staff was very friendly; however, the team is unfair and dishonest and they are not concerned with the treatment of their patients. I had initially been declined in 2012 for financial reasons so I went back in 2018 after my situation had improved significantly. In the interview they ask a series of questions. I answered all of the questions honestly. I was asked then two questions repeatedly which I gave the same answer every time. The interviewer then said that in 2012 my answers were different.. which I said was inaccurate reporting and offered to supply medical records to substantiate that. The person declined and I began feeling as if I were basically being told I was lying. I expressed that concern and stated if that were the case then I wasn't sure I needed to see the second person. After talking with the interviewer I decided to go ahead and see the second person because the interviewer made it seem as though my concerns were not needed. Needless to say I was declined again because they said I would not listen or adhere to recommendations within the program and that I would not be able to work with the staff. All of that was because I became irritated that I was being asked the same two questions multiple times and because the interviewer was told they had incorrect information. I filed an appeal to their director who was very nice and listened to my concern and even stated that the record indicated I got agitated. The director asked for the team to reconsider given the additional information I had provided and the team maintained their disposition. Of course I am upset I was declined but I'm actually upset because of the lies and cover up that they are doing. Working in the healthcare field and in customer service has taught me that this is not an appropriate way to treat those in your community and it shows how it's more about saving face for this program than genuinely helping people live a happier, healthier life.
