Negative experience: Horrible. I’m an insulin pump user, went round and round for a month to get infusion sets, as of this week no one answers the phone. Was told 2 weeks ago that paperwork was sent to supplier. Dr Khan left the country and left patients high and dry. Staff is horrible not answering phone calls/email. Beware!!!
Negative experience: It has been horrible since Antunes left! After 30+yrs of going there, didn’t even get the courtesy of anyone letting me know the doctor was retiring, found out through my sister! On my first appointment I had a young girl taking my vitals and explaining how I should use Ozempic ( which btw was wrong) next time I went she was gone, it seemed that they were turning their staff quicker than I can count till 5 bc their NP was gone as well, I never met the doctor, but finally dealt with James the new NP who was very nice and only reason I was still going there. A few weeks ago I ran out of my medicine and called the office, receptionist told me to call my pharmacist n let them know I had an appointment coming up and to let them know if I had any issues, never had to do that in the past, but whatever I did and was told they could only give me three days worth of it, I called right back, but no one answered and called for a week and left messages with whoever was answering the calls, when I asked why no one was returning my messages I got a “I’m sorry I’m the only one here”or a “do you want to leave another message?” My husband drove there to find out what was going on and found the paper on the door that they were closed! I finally got a call a week later, to see if I could change my upcoming appointment to a different date and through tele doc! So disappointing that no one cared, we are patients that are insulin dependent and for them not to give a call back to their patients it’s absolutely terrible! Thank God I have a primary doctor who called my prescription right after I let them know the ordeal I had gone through! Would NEVER go back there again!
Negative experience: Office is closed!!! Cannot get in touch. They posted the number to use on the door to schedule telehealth appt , but there is no answer…. You are put on indefinite hold!!
Negative experience: Difficult refilling prescriptions
Fantastic experience: I had a very bad issue that was created by me. And called office 10mins before closing, And new managing director Alex went way beyond the normal Dr office. He closed up his office and waited for me to get there from Bradenton at 5:00pm traffic the day before a hurricane was coming. And gave me supplies I needed to make through all the madness, that comes with a hurricane.

Fantastic experience: Had some problems to say the least after they took over for Dr. Antunes. Was in a bind needing medication made a call Alex the director answered, I had a few choice words I said to Alex which were Not so nice, I was so frustrated. He continued to listen asked how he could help. He actually was able to help!! It was now 4:55pm he stated he was about to walk out the door but would wait for me to get there, I was 25 minutes away. He waited for me to arrive. I was completely shocked. I was so grateful. I can’t say enough GREAT things about the director Alex. He has already started turning things around for the better at this practice.

Negative experience: When Dr. Antunes ran this practice it was amazing. Since he left it has gone downhill. My prescription was not given to me. I can’t reach anyone to call one in. I can only leave messages and no one calls me back. Now after 3 weeks of trying, I still don’t have my medicine. No one will answer the phone or get back to me. Absolutely ridiculous! So this gets worse- finally drove down there because I couldn’t reach anyone and they made me do an appointment because they had no record of me a prescription from my appt just 6 months ago. So why would I have gone in for my annual, right? Of course I had to pay another co-pay in the appointment. Then…….! I left with the expectation they were going to do their job and call the prescription in, but what do you think, did they no?! So I had to drive back over there because you can’t reach anyone on the phone and they had no prescription set up for me. I demanded they call one in - to make them do what they are supposed to do to begin with and I asked for a hard copy in case they still didn’t do what they were supposed to do. I mean come on! I even told the doctor-“Your customer service sucks! If you want to stay in business you better do something different.” I left and told the lady waiting in the lobby, “This place is crazy!” She nodded her head… mmmmm hmmmm. Sad. I miss you Dr. Antunes!

Fantastic experience: As we all will miss Dr. Antunes and wish him a well deserved retirement, I can say the transition to the new team is wonderful. Negative experience: From reading other reviews, I am not the only former patient of this practice, who found a lack communication. I am a two time cancer survivor. I endured 2 years of chemotherapy. Because of the chemotherapy, I have several subsequent health problems which need constant care. In the past 24 years of treating these issues, I have never been treated so poorly by a medical office. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: The new regime is outstanding! The doctors are very good, caring and listen to your individual needs, you start by getting a warm smile at the front desk, the nurse that helps you check in and prescriptions is tenaciously accommodating, the dietitian spends a lot of time personalizing your diet plan and when you go to check out the lady is all smiles and very accommodating. After retiring from 65 years in NYC and a special 35 year doctor patient relationship at Cornell, I had a very hard time finding someone decent in Sarasota. This is my new home for my medical needs and it’s top notch with a smile

Negative experience: Never going back. They pursued me for months for a 65 copay. Threatened collections. Had proof that I paid but they would never call back. Finally someone did and admitted we had paid. They are very disorganized and the person was rude to my wife.

Negative experience: Ive been a patient here for several years. I recently decided to no longer use this office for many reasons, a main one being they never answer the phone. I had an appointment scheduled for February which I called to cancel as I was switching doctors. No surprise, they did not answer so I left it on their voicemail. Fast foward to today, I have now been called 6 times by this office in attempts to collect a $50 fee for "No Call No Show". Each time, I explain that I did cancel but nobody would answer the phone. Today I was at the end of my patience and explained that I would be reporting the office as well as filing a complaint to which the man on the phone says "Ok fine I will send it to collections and you can deal with it there" and hung up. Terrible organization, communication and respect for the patients they have/ had.

Fantastic experience: I am very well pleased with the care I receive from the entire staff at each visit. The two nurse practitioners I have seen are excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful in responding to and addressing my needs. I am an 86 year old retired pediatric oncology nurse and was employed by a university hospital for 30 years. I have diabetes type 2.

Fantastic experience: Met Dr. Khan for the first time today. I was a long-term patient of Dr. Antunes. I was hesitant about changing doctors as i have an unusual health condition, but my worries were put to rest upon meeting Dr. Khan. He took time to get to know my history and is a great listener. Negative experience: Not great. Office totally dropped the ball on a prescription even though I called twice to ask if they sent it last week. No response from office. I came in today they had no idea why I was here. Huge amount of wasted time while they're calling pharmacy I'm waiting. Not impressed and actually very frustrated! Dylaan

Negative experience: I went into their office twice before my first visit and asked if they were in network and their front staff told me yes both times. They never advised me that the doctor was not in my specific plan but that they took my United Health Care insurance. Now they want both me and my husband to pay out of network price because of their in ability to understand how medical insurance billing works. Then when I asked to speak with the billing supervisor I was told that it is my responsibility not theirs. They falsely stated that they were in network upon both visits doing paperwork before my actual appointment. That is fraud.

Positive experience: Great service, but the doors are extremely heavy and difficult to open and hold open for someone using a Walker. A push button for an automatic door opener seems appropriate, since we have such a high percentage of seniors in the area. Also, the new system of water bottles for patients contributes to the plastic problem in our environment. Otherwise, fine, clean, and a short waiting period. Friendly staff and Dr, Khan. He really listens. Important!

Negative experience: Bad experience. New nurse practitioner made adjustments to my insulin pump. Blood sugars went to 500. Called and was told I would need to make a co pay to come in and have my settings on my pump looked at. Finally got in to a new Endicrinologist. They couldn't believe what had been done to the settings on my pump. They adjusted the settings and all is good. I feel 100 % better now!

Fiquei esperando por 2 horas e quando finalmente fui atendida, mal fui examinada e logo me passou exames de sangue para fazer Apos ter feito exames, recebi uma carta pelo correio, isso mesmo! Nem uma ligação! Dizendo para tomar vitamina D. Minha glicose estava alterada no exame mas nao mencionaram nada a respeito! Hoje seria meu retorno e só estava indo porque seria um retorno e talvez iria ouvir algo sobre oque fazer em ralaçao a todos os problemas que mencionei da minha primeira consulta, quando cheguei a recepcionista super mal educada, quero dizer sem nenhuma expressao de educação! Ja foi logo cobrando 140 dolares pelo retorno! Pasmem! Eu desisti e retornei! Gastei 330 em consulta mais 500 em exames para nada! Enfim! Aprendendo! Espero que sirva para que outras pessoas não passem pelo mesmo.

Negative experience: Starting with the office staff they are very rude! I went to him for nodules in my neck and one came back hot! He brushed me off said it was nothing? SMH did all the testing and he says there is nothing there! Funny because I had it biopsied years ago! I wouldn't take my dog to see him! He doesn't listen! I was there a year ago and they wanted to do a follow up in a year they insisted I schedule right then! Anyway apparently when Verizon was having issues they said they called me and demanded I pay the co pay for a no show! Then charged me more than what my actual co pay is!

Negative experience: Poor posted moments ago My experience with Dr Antunes office via my 82 year old father was horrible. Their reminder calls are confusing, missing information, its not scripted at all, they double bill, and don't listen. Last time my father was there, the doctor was drawing blood from my father and tried to used the same vein in the same arm at least six times, I noticed my father starting to show pain because the doctor wasn't getting any blood. I said, "that's starting to hurt maybe try the other arm", he did and finally got blood. I have taken to get my father's to get blood drawn many times and never has anyone had that hard of a time getting blood or tried that many times on the same arm to cause pain to a patient. At their exit, before leaving, I informed the check out lady to cancel future appoints because we were going to find a new endocrinologist. I get a appointment reminder call stating a co-pay balance needed to be paid via the phone before coming in to an appointment I told them to cancel. So in short, they didn't cancel the appointment, wanted money that wasn't due to them, and turned around and charged us for a no show appointment. My dad has medicare and a great supplement insurance from the city of Sarasota. He has never had to pay monies out, ever. I checked his wellness account and they have been submitting charges for things I think they weren't suppose to and they're still trying to collect money. First they said, they don't bill Medicare for anything but after questioning they do bill medicare. They're very confusing, and derelict in their duties. The front desk staff isn't what I would call friendly either, more of a sign in and set down kind of greeting. The exit representative is always the same person and seems friendly but didn't listen and now they want money for their mistakes. The doctor is nice but isn't really ready for patients. All through their office rooms they have posted ask about your last lab work. Why does the patient have to ask about their lab work. The doctor should have the previous labs up and ready to discuss with the patient, he never has. If you ask, he will search the system and give you the results. If you don't ask, you don't get any information concerning labs.This is the primary reason people go to an endocrinologist to review lab work and get the proper medication instructions. The two years or more my father went to this office they never got his thyroid under control. There was nuclear med studies, endless lab work and you can tell its all about getting the patient back in as soon as possible to get more money. Eva, the nurse practitioner was the best thing in this entire office. One time they billed us and we paid that 1st time and they billed the insurance. They did refund the money via mail and check. This office is a pay up front office, my recommendation is save your self a lot of head aches. Find a doctor with good referral's/review's that bills your insurance directly. This was my 82 year old father's experience and mine via through him. If you do choose this doctor for yourself or loved ones, I sincerely hope your experience is better than all of ours.
