AdvantageCare Physicians - Flatiron District Medical Office: Reviews
Fantastic experience: It was exactly what I expected. Everybody seems friendly, basically the city MD primary care. fine, perfunctory, no bells and whistles.
Fantastic experience: I would love to say thank you so much to nurse Anna from the flat iron location advantage care. While I had so much pain I experienced after my surgery she would always call in and check up on me. If she was busy she would sent me a message on the app. I truly do appreciate how much she has been there for me. She made sure all I had my refills and always made sure I was in the loop of everything I had going on. You truly are a blessing and I’m so glad that I had you as a nurse. If you have any questions she’s a really good listener she definitely make sure everything gets done. I wish more nurses would be more like you. Thank you so much.
Positive experience: I like my doctor (Dr. G) here, but it is such a long wait time no matter how early you come as suggested.. which isn't the doctor's fault, more like system's fault. Expect to stay for at least an hour for your 15 minute appts.
Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with Dr. Claris Gautreaux. Initially, I chose her as my primary care physician but didn’t like her approach—she kept pushing me to change my medication and see providers outside my network, despite me telling her my current treatment works. I switched doctors, but after my new PCP left, I was reassigned to her. When I requested a refill for my diabetes medication, she delayed it for a week and then refused, insisting I see an endocrinologist she referred—whose next available appointment was in eight months. She showed no concern for my condition, leaving me without essential medication. If you're looking for a responsible doctor, avoid her.
Fantastic experience: AdvanceCare been my go to for primary care for over a decade. I would recommend family and friends to get their health checked with advanceCare.
Fantastic experience: I agree with the other recent reviewer. Dr. Favreau-Herz is the best primary doctor I have ever had. They always have appointments and their on line portal lets you message and request referrals and is very easy to use.
Fantastic experience: Yadira garcia. She is one of the best. Very professional. Good service. Always helping everybody. Thanks for your service.
Positive experience: I LOVE my podiatrist here she is literally the best. But the front desk on the other hand is a nightmare with out a doubt I have a confrontation with the older Caucasian woman at the front desk she is just always so rude… and always talks over you and she just always wants to be right.
Fantastic experience: I adore advantage care! I never wait long. It’s easy to schedule. Everyone there is always very helpful and kind. And I absolutely adore my primary care doctor, Dr. Favreau-Hertz. She is without a doubt the best primary care doctor I have ever had. Grateful
Negative experience: Im not sure who hired these people but all the nurses seem the right fit to work together. Yes, they do their job, but cannot seems to have not minded themselves enough to have repeated comments about me to say something about me. and i wasn't too happy when i looked at a group of nurses leaving to which the nurses looked back at me and asked 'who was that'. Im not really sure if I needed to expect anything at most from these people. But I was struggling and for someone to make comments about me having a "control' problem is unacceptable. not to mention one of these nurses leaving had additional comments about me but she couldn't speak up enough for me to hear her. I kind of wonder how staff would really act when they actually have to handle someone REALLY beligerent walk into their office. Garbage
Negative experience: The problem I experienced was with only DE Daliah . The rest are good.
Fantastic experience: Very nice personal
Negative experience: Having an 8am appointment doesn’t actually mean you will be seen until 845. The doors of the office don’t open until 8, so despite the personal telling me in the phone to come 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, instead I was waiting out in the cold until 8, the a long line to check in. So 8am appointment means 845 is when you see doc. They never sent the referral they promised and then they started yelling at me because I was mad they never sent it. Completely incompetent staff who can’t send prescription or referrals as promised.
Negative experience: If you care about your Health or the Health of your Loved ones. Avoid this Doctors office at All Costs.
Positive experience: This place has a lot of patients in the waiting room. I noticed the waiting area is very clean, and the screening is thorough. I like that they put a lot of emphasize in safety as well. They have security personnel at the main entrance who provide security and assistance when it's required.
Negative experience: The flatiron office is worse than awful. My appointment was cancelled twice, day of. I had to pretty much tell my doctor all my past results because she said the chart was “lost” or there was a duplicate that she couldn’t find? Both the doc and nurse seemed like they absolutely hated working there. They didn’t even ask basic questions like medications I’m on. This is simple primary care. Don’t choose this office
Negative experience: This is hands down worst office. To call them healthcare would be a lie. They do not care about their patients. It is a miserable experience that one would subject themselves to simply out of self hated and no other reason. The Flatiron office is the worst America has to offer is here.
Negative experience: I had called to inquire and the front desk staff were extremely rude. Do not come here if you want a good experience.
Negative experience: If zero stars was available it would still be too much. Worse doctors office don’t waste your time. I cry everyone I have to go in to this place the doctors really brought down the quality of this place. Dr. McClendon in general
Fantastic experience: Great team, excellent Service, for years I have been enjoying the best of Drs and health care
Negative experience:
This review is regarding a participating "doctor" at this facility - James Nguyen. If I could leave 0 stars - I would. The last time I saw Nguyen was on 10/28/2019. It was my second visit over a 4-day period. I was doubled over in pain, certain that I had appendicitis. During that final visit, he once again remained in the room for MAYBE 1.5 minutes and ushered me out. Turns out that I had advanced
Fantastic experience: I've been a patient here for over 15 years, with the same PCP and I would not exchange him, he's good with all this patients, he listens and cares. I love this Health Care Center
Fantastic experience: I often forget to write reviews when all is good as I usually review to warn other readers of poor products or experiences. However, after reading a few negative reviews for Dr. Gautreaux, I felt the need to write a glowing review that reflected my experience with both her and the office. AdvantageCare is very well staffed, clean and professional and wait time was less than five minutes. Dr. Gautreaux is everything one would want in their internist/GP. She was very well versed with.my medical issues, showing great competence and expertise. Dr. Gautreaux is also methodical, caring and funny. I'm thrilled that she's my Primary Care Doctor going forward.
Fantastic experience: Got my Civid shots here. Great staff, from the people on the phone, to the check-in staff, nurses and the check-out staffing. They were attentive, caring and professional. Clean and comfortable facilities.
Fantastic experience: I was aprehensive to come to this location after reading several of the reviews on here. I had an appointment today at 8am. The staff and receptionists were all sweet and kind. I did have to wait until 8am to go inside, as that is when they open and its part of the new protocol. I was understanding especially with the circumstances we are in. Once 8am came in i was told to come in first as i was the first to arrive. The whole process was smooth and everyone i interacted with said good Morning, smiled, asked me how i was doing and even told me to have a good day. I had a great overall experience and would definitely come back to this location even though i typically go to the 96th street location. I think its important for all of us to be kind and patient during these times.
Negative experience: Customers service is the worst I’ve seen!!! I will NEVER go back again!!. I Messaged with a question to my pcp regarding an eye stye, a nurse messaged me saying there is a same day spot available to see the optometrist. I immediately replied saying I ll take the spot, I had to ask my boss for an extended lunch and came all the way from Jersey city for that appointment. Since I didn’t get a confirmation message from nurse I even called Acpny appointment center to confirm the open spot. Customer service couldn’t make the appointment for me but assured me that I can take the appointment if I go to doctor office. When I Arrived to the flatiron office I was told that nurse and customer service rep made a mistake!!!, that open spot is for a follow up consult, not a first consult ( which was my case)!!!!! After all I was offered an apology, and was offered and hour later appointment. Not going back there!! There are other clinics eager to offer better service for your money!!
Negative experience: Gosh the level of service here needs some serious attention !!!!! Let’s start with first impressions which is the front desk, boy oh boy those ladies are sad, unwelcoming and just look like they hate their jobs and hate having to welcome you! Look, if this place is all your insurance covers or offers, hang in there and good luck but if I can give some advise to the others go somewhere else and leave knowing your happy and satisfied. Some common things I have experienced, rescheduling, practitioner leaving and they don’t let you know. They schedule you with people you should not be seeing on some first time visits. As an example I was scheduled with Nurse practitioner for a visit when I had really should have been scheduled with a OB. Keep in mind you can’t take anyone with you into your appointments either which sucks if you need that assistance. #covidpolicy
Negative experience: Just one advice concerning your scheduled appointments..CALL FIRST to make sure your appointment was not cancelled unknowingly!!. I made an appointment for my husband three weeks in advance over the phone. We took the day off and traveled all the way to NYC from our home in New Jersey. We got to the office and my husband was told.."Your appointment was cancelled and your Doctor is not here!! We were so angry and asked how can they cancel his appointment without a text, email or call??!! The front desk said in a matter of fact tone that an email was sent. That made me more angry and we demanded to see the email they said they sent and the date they sent it..Nothing....I asked to speak with the manager and she could not could show us this proof that we were sent a cancelation letter, she only apologized for our inconvenience. That day, my husband was sent away because there were no available doctors on site to see him..We were given another date and best believe we will ALWAYS call Flatiron to make sure they do not cancel our appointments unawares.
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Fauve Herze for a short time and am so pleased. She is down to earth and has not problem explaining conditions that are being treated. She is so good in fact that I have transferred from the center in my neighborhood in Brooklyn to her. It is sometimes hard to find a Doctor that makes you feel comfortable and always pleased to see you but when you find one keep them. It makes all the difference in you overall health.
Negative experience: Consistently the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in Manhattan. This time, I called them because Mayor DeBlasio said they were now providing free Covid 19 testing by appointment. After being on hold for 20 minutes, a person finally got on the line but was uninformed as to where the testing would take place and told me I needed a prescription from my doctor. This was totally counter to what was said at the Mayor’s press conference and I told them so. I was put on hold so that the rep could check and was disconnected. This is the type of service you will almost always get from AdvantageCare. They’re name should really be Disadvantage Care. It would be so much more fitting.
Positive experience: I saw Dr. Favreau-Herz, who was very thorough, but also efficient. Made appropriate referrals and was very down to earth and kind. Able to answer questions well. Wait didn't seem like too long. Front desk folks were nice, but it seemed like someone was overseeing them to make sure the flow was smooth.
Negative experience: Although the doctors I've seen there have been very good, dealing with them administratively is always a nightmare. Whether it's their "central" customer service or someone at the front desk who answers my call, that person has always proven to be incompetent.
Negative experience: Front Desk just 1 Lady is very nasty & rude, but the Doctors are great.
Negative experience: Dr Gautreaux and her staff are useless. I have been a patient since 1991. Seeing her and her staff has been a horrible experience. Save yourself from the bad advise and poor customer service!!!
Negative experience: Beyond useless! Front desk are lazy. They cancel your later appointment in the afternoon so they can rush to leave work early to go home. Don’t waste your time here. You’re better off going to any urgent care. They always want to send you all the way to 95th street location when they don’t want to take you in for your appointment. Why would I hike all the way up there when I’m in Chelsea. Make it make sense. Fire these incompetent degenerates.
Positive experience: Im really shocked to see such bad reviews here. Ive been coming to this location for a couple of years now and only had one bad experience with the wait time, usually im in and out. Every is nice, although i do understand the mention of the receptionist that comes across rude but i feel you just have to understand her personality. She is abrupt but if you continue to be nice and calm you will see that she is nice and helpful she just has a harsh tone. But its all about perception. I like this office and highly suggest it. I usually just call the hotline to make appointments so maybe that's what people should do since everyone is complaining about the online portal.
Negative experience: This place is so bad that I don’t have a word to describe. They have no respect for other people’s time. Making appointments online is no use because you will still be told the doctor left and there was no vaccine in stock. You can’t get any useful info from the front desk and they made it sounds like it’s all your fault for not booking an earlier time slot. It’s also my responsibility to make sure the doctor will not early the day I want an appointment before I book Why would you even have an online booking system
Negative experience: -1000 RATING. ZOYA MUNAROVA, the glorified receptionist that works at the front desk, has the nastiest attitude you’ll ever come across. She is rude, condescending and easily upset. Avoid Her! And don’t even bother going to ASHLEY QUINTANA for any help regarding issues with any of the staff. She claims she has an open door policy, but it is all smoke and mirrors. The reality is she lacks empathy, is overly passive aggressive and just an overall basket case with anger issues that has no business being in any kind of power anywhere. She is simply not mature enough. She will tell you anything you want to hear because she doesn’t want to be held accountable for anything that would take actual intelligence to handle.
Fantastic experience: I disagree with some of the negative comments posted about the Flatiron location. I transferred from 96th to Flatiron which was the best decision I ever made. The front desk staff has always been courteous and professional. Now, my doctor Claris Gautreaux is EXCELLENT, my GYNs Dr. Phillip and Meredith Lowder Hughes are EXCELLENT. I use the patient portal and leave messages for all doctors and they are all responsive. The keys here is the staff and doctors are professional and EXCELLENT. Have a little patience!!
Negative experience: Worst and most unprofessional doctors office i have ever been to. I have what I’m pretty sure is a terrible case of strep. I called right when they opened in the morning to make sure they got an appt. they scheduled me for that afternoon. When i showed up they said that they didn’t have a doctor available and I wouldn’t be able to have an appointment at all. Instead they expected me to go to the lower east side if i wanted to see a doctor that day. The worst part about the whole thing is that the receptionist was not only unapologetic. She was borderline rude, which was pretty unbearable when i felt so sick. Worst service ever.
Fantastic experience: I feel like I need to give this place 5 stars at an attempt to balance the negative reviews of the front desk staff to focus more on the real reason you should base your opinion. Your doctor. Dr. Gautreaux is excellent. The best doctor I have ever been to. Whether or not the receptionists are rude should not be a reason to deter you from booking an appointment with her. She's a natural extrovert and knows how to put you at ease with lighthearted jokes, humor, and a genuine interest in your well being. It's important to have this kind of aura in the medical field, and her passion for both her practice and her patients shines through. She makes you laugh in spite of the reason behind your appointment. Each visit I've had with her has been positive and I genuinely don't despise going to the doctor when I book an appointment. Unfortunately, the waitlist can often be a lengthy one, but if you are a new patient I would strongly encourage you to keep following up to get an appointment with her. If you are ongoing and you use the patient portal to shoot her a message, I'm sure she would do her best to fit you in to skip the line. P.s. the staff has never caused me enough frustration to write a negative review on Google about. Just throwing that out there.
Negative experience: Rude people on front desk. Very unprofessional
Negative experience: Today was the worst day ever thanks to BEV. I have been experiencing terrible upper back pain and as per my insurance and also calling and verifying with my ID number I covered. I traveled olny to be greater by Bev the most incompetent person. After the computer not working and she taking 20 mins asking me the same info over and over (which did not bother me) she tell told me have a seat that the system not taking the insurance. I knew she was doing someone wrong when she kept looking at the card and asking which insurance do I have. I begged her to call the number on the back the will verify of give her details she made me sit again and gave it to her incompetent supervisor. I called my insurance and day to me don’t leave I am covered. My insurance called them and all was well. Bev could not even loonat me she just told me the door on the left not even and explaination so this won’t happen again. Did I say I have military insurance and all this took her and her supervisor 1.5 hours because day had to much pride to just call the insurance. All o did was stand and cry because I am on yo much pain to even talk or breath.
Fantastic experience: Five stars ; the best service. Their staff performs an amazing job. Love how I was handled.
Negative experience: Rude staff. My mom, a new patient, was humiliated and yelled at by the front desk staff on the basement floor for something that was their mistake. It’s unacceptable to treat a patient this way. Please work on your patient etiquette.
Negative experience: Horrible! The front desk staff doesn't know how to treat patients. Save yourself the agony and go elsewhere! You have been warned...
Negative experience: Nov 29 2018 Not good service the worse experience I had in a doctor'soffice. Women at the front desk are very rude, she couldn't find my insurance information and the women got very mad and lose control, lack of training when dealing with insurance issues.Hope I dont have to return to this location.
Negative experience: I had no issues with the doctor or nurses I interacted with for my yearly physical. My complaint is geared towards the staff working the front desk. They are poorly trained. Unprofessional attitudes in person and over the phone. I called multiple times to speak to a supervisor but unable to reach one. Their phone system is frustrating and billing is outsourced, so you have to deal with a different party. I could go into greater detail but I'll upset myself. Overall don't use AdvantageCare. Runaway.
Negative experience: Today, April 12th, 2018, while i was taking my patient to her Dr's appt. And b/c of a tatoo the Lab tech told me i was a "Nazi Junky" and screamed in front of EVERYONE in the office and told the staff that I am not allowed to ever return. Ive never done any illicit drugs, nor am I a "nazi". Ive been taking my patient to that office for 3 yrs now. And now she has to find another Dr. I will be reporting this to her superviser. But to be accused of foul acts and screaming "shes a junky i can tell a junky by looking at 'em!!!!" How dare anyone judge another for nothing.
Negative experience: Was previously better. Last 1-2 years, very poor and dishonest (do not show complete electronic med records and refuse to provide when these are requested. They've not forwarded requested records to other doctor outside Advantage Care though confirmed, a number of time, they had. They are very abtuse about med records and billing, giving patients a run-around. They also seem to lose documentation -- I've twice submitted paper forms to grant certain people access to my med records. Each visit, they say nothing is on file.
Fantastic experience: The staff is very helpful. My doctor was very knowledgeable and funny
Fantastic experience: Very organized and helpful staff. I have been going here for many years now. I want to change insurance companies but want to keep my doctor at this office.
Positive experience: I've been going here for years, even before they moved to this location. Building is very nice. Staff is nice overall. I like my doctor here...they get you in and out of there in a very timely manner. Location is convenient. They just have the habit of nickel and diming for everything... which is why I give them a 3 Star rating...but many doctors offices are that way. Pretty good overall.
