Fantastic experience: TigerLily Wellness & Acupuncture is the absolute best!!

Negative experience: My girl was gunna go here last week and we realized that the clinic likes to rip people off by pawning off crazy supplements to their clients and over charging for unnecessary tactics rather than just sticking to a simple and traditional approach to therapy and acupuncture. Going to take our business somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: The expertise of them helped me overcome with acupuncture a condition otherwise could get me in real trouble.

Negative experience: I will never come here again. $325 wasted.

Fantastic experience: Simply put, Vanessa at Tiger is the best healthcare experience I've ever had. I've had multiple female issues in the past that I've seen multiple doctors/specialists for with no solution or answers in sight, very panicked and scared for my health. After a couple months of treatments/visits with Vanessa I am fully healed and better than ever. She's just a beautiful human inside and out, I am so lucky to have found her and could not recommend her enough if you're a female struggling with any type of female issues. Thank you Vanessa!

Fantastic experience: Douglas and Vanessa are both just amazing human beings and fantastic practitioners. I’ve had the privilege of being treated by both of them and seen amazing results. I moved here two years ago from Virginia and had a wonderful Chinese medicine acupuncturist there. I did not realize how lucky I was with him, until I moved to Austin. In my first six months here, I went through five different clinics between Round Rock Cedar Park and Austin trying to find a clinician of comparable skill level and care. I was on the verge of giving up and resigning to a life of pain and anxiety that nothing but acupuncture had been able to manage for me. Thankfully, I was referred from a new friend to TigerLilly. The care and treatment I’ve received there is second to none. From managing yoga induced muscle injuries, to work induced stress and anxiety, to just keeping my soul healthy and balanced, I could not function without their amazing care. Fantastic experience: Doug and Vanessa are the most amazing duo of health and create peace of mind that is undeniable. Health and wellness is their passion and you can feel it in what they say and how they help. My life is more harmonious with them in it!!

Negative experience: I really wanted to love my first ever experience with acupuncture, and even though I read good reviews about Tiger Lily, my experience was poor. I was seen by Dr. Doug who did a full body scan and my first acupuncture session, that went well, despite one of the needle positions hurting my big toe on my left foot, which still hurts today, over 2 months later. Moving on, I expressed to the doctor that I wanted to stay plant-based because that was my current diet. Unfortunately, my experience ended up being poor immediately after of the acupuncture. The moment I left the room I had over eight supplements that were pushed on me for purchase at the reception desk, the doctor insisted that they were exactly what I needed to feel better based off of his body scan on me. Over $250 later, I felt that I allowed myself to be vulnerable with somebody who I thought was going to help, only to feel unheard and robbed. After doing my research on the supplements, the majority of them contained extracts from cow ovaries, pituitary glands, and adrenal glands. The doctor totally disregarded my desire to stay plant-based even though he said he did have options for me. I returned the supplements not even 24 hours later and told the doctor and the receptionist that I would still like to continue with my actual acupuncture treatment, which they said was fine. The DAY before my next visit a week later, the doctor called me and told me that his services work in conjunction with the supplements and because I chose not to take the supplements, he did not wish to continue practice on me anymore and he pawned me off to a student acupuncture center because he thought it would be a better fit. This screamed “I don’t truly care about your preference of being plant-based or physical/emotional needs because you don’t want to pay for these overpriced supplements.” I don’t believe that in order to get the full benefits on acupuncture it is necessary to be flooded with supplements, nor do I think pumping your body with extracted animal hormones is a natural way to regulate your body during emotional turmoil. They also charged my FSA card 100 dollars despite by copay being 30, but the doctor told me he wasn’t going to process the claim because it was too much of a hassle for him, which I never was reimbursed for. Definitely discouraged me in my time of need and I would be cautious of supporting business that care more about profit than the patients who are genuinely seeking a natural path of health and well-being.

Fantastic experience: I finally feel like I’m on the right path to healing! As someone who isn’t a fan of needles, I was a little nervous. However, Vanessa made me feel super comfortable and it’s nice to finally have someone I can work with to feel better :)

Negative experience: Found this place on groupon and I have always been curious of trying acupuncture for their price. I heard on Groupon that they are resilient in trying to make you a regular. I was never contacted again which confirmed my assumptions. I felt uncomfortable after. The interior for a small place was nice, the receptionist was very friendly I had a good impression so far. I waited for about an hour and from my observations your clientele seem to be older and wealthier by appearance. I felt like as a college student coming in street clothes, I stood out a bit but at first I didn't think too much of it. Once I was greeted by Vanessa I noticed her hesistancy, she did greet me but with a short "Hi, come on this way" but it was different in nature and manner from that of her previous customers, which contained interaction that was brighter and friendly. Nonetheless, I expressed friendliness and kept trying to make conversation and she would only talk to respond to my questions and let more silence ensue. She did her thing, left the room to continue taking in other customers and it is where I noticed I was being treated differently than other people. The walls are not that sound proof so inevitably you hear conversations while trying to relax for one hour. She was so much brighter, laughed, complimented and initiated conversation with others which you could tell they were her expected clientele: regulars and not college students. When she came back to finish my session, her enthusiasm completely died. I had someone come with me that day and he noticed the same thing and brought it up to me before I even could. Look, even if people may not look wealthy to you and you assume that they are not going to come back, you should still treat them equally as you do with others. I felt discriminated, thank you for the acupuncture but no customer wants to feel out of place and obviously judged. Just because you decide someone may not be a regular and contribute more to your business does not mean you treat them like "ok let's get this over with". You made acupuncture accessible at such an affordable price to attract a diverse crowd, then you should expect people coming from a diversity of backgrounds. If you do not want that, then please keep your normal prices.

Fantastic experience: The welcome at Tigerlilly is warm and friendly; the waiting room has a place to make tea and I always feel like I am peaceful there. The care is excellent-Doug listens and takes great notes, often referring back to them for details, progress, consistency, insight. He is light, funny, and very skilled. I have seen them over several years for back pain, digestion, thyroid issues and emotional healing. I highly recommend them. I referred a friend who was debilitated with allergies and she is functioning again. I like the combined whole body approach, with nutrition, treatment, mindset and their recommendations.

Fantastic experience: I love Vanessa. She is such a positive person and is always checking on my needs. I did acupuncture back when I was going thru chemo and it helped so much with my side effects. Now that I'm in remission, it's so good to continue it to help with the effects from chemo and surgery. Everyone in the office is so nice and very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I am a physical therapist. Doug has been a huge part of not only my health, but some my patient's and my cousins health. My cousin lives in Pennsylvania and he was having issues with blood pressure, tachycardia, and other anxiety related symptoms. Just by having phone consultation, he was able to provide him all the necessary supplements to help jump start his system in order to return back to work. Needless to say, my cousin is now working again after just after 2 months. I highly recommend Doug and his practice to help solve and manage your family and patient's needs.

Fantastic experience: I had been in a pretty negative space when I had first started going to Douglas, both in health and mentally. I went in just for soreness and tension in my shoulder believing it to be linked to poor posture; after years in the service industry I had then recently started a desk job (that I hated). When he first walked in and asked how I was doing, I immediately went into my side effects and where my body hurt most. He politely let me unload my own diagnosis and after I had finished, he reiterated "But, how are YOU doing?" Folks, I stared crying. Not gonna lie. With the stress and current life choices/decisions I had been making, my body was feeling the effects. I was stressed because of my job and relationship, and when I'm stressed I eat sweets--which sugar causes inflammation, duh! We addressed the underlying issues of my diet and my gut health, poked me with some needles-- they never hurt but if you're scared the ambiance of the room will help you relax. Doug even listened to me and helped work out some problems-- talk about getting to hear some much needed 'truths.' They recommend visits every two or so weeks to start out to help work out the kinks. You have to understand, by the time that your body is to the place to where you are having soreness or stiffness, the journey back to health is going to be a lengthy one, but the results are immediate. I kept feeling better and better, and even my close friends could tell a change in my mood. I can't rave enough about how awesome the wellness experience I had/ continue to have. My mentality about healthcare has completely changed... Seriously... Do it!!

Fantastic experience: I brought my 13-year old daughter to see Dr. Ward because she was having some extreme emotional challenges. I thought it might be a hormone imbalance and wanted to approach it naturally. I loved how Dr. Ward viewed the situation from so many different angles. Our first appointment she asked very specific questions to narrow down the root cause. Based on the answers and the results of a more than full panel blood test, she was able to figure out her brain chemicals imbalance was the cause. She developed a comprehensive supplement regiment. And within a few months my daughter was back to her light hearted self. I am so grateful to Dr. Ward for taking the time to fully engage with my daughter and take a holistic approach to her healing.

Fantastic experience: L I G H T S O N ! I came to TigerLily on a Groupon with no expectations, and no real idea of what to expect. What happened during the next 7 weeks was truly transformational. I went from constant brain fog and a serious coffee/food addiction from my unknown lack of deep sleep (we estimate this issue has been going on for appox 4 years), to someone who is tuned in, tapped in, turned on with no addictions and sleep is no longer a problem. My weight has dropped, my skin cleared up, even my hair is fuller and growing at a rapid pace! I feel alive again! Seriously thankful that I found this team, and will be a life long client. Fantastic experience: I went to Tigerlily to stop using nicotine gum that I had been using for 13 years. I was given a treatment plan and some supplements to help curve the addiction and withdrawal. The acupuncture really helped calm my nerves and let me stay in a relaxed state so I could stay off the nicotine gum. Fantastic experience: This was my first acupuncture appointment and I was a little nervous. I don’t have a needle phobia but it was not something I ever intended to try. That was until I started have some health issues with my body and wanted to try everything I could besides lots of medication to treat it. Immediately from the the moment I walked it I felt reassured that this is something worth trying. The staff was delightful and thorough. Vanessa was my acupuncturist and I felt really comfortable and relaxed with her. She asked a lot of questions about my health and what I’ve been going through. Not only are there two master acupuncturists that own and operate TigerLily , they also specialize in custom clinical nutrition in a very unique and effective way. They find ways through natural nutrition and supplementation to help their clients reduce disease states and get off conventional medication. Yeah, they are pretty awesome. As a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist I recommend TigerLily 100%. It is really awesome to see this husband and wife team changing peoples lives for the better every day. They help with everything from skin issues, to liver disease. Try them out. You will be happy you did!

Fantastic experience: I have had multiple health conditions for many years. My brother and three children have suffered the same symptoms. Western Medicine has few options for my conditions. By my third appointment with Doug my symptoms are reduced by 50% and the severity of the remaining symptoms have been reduced 50% at least. I have complete confidence that I will be completely well within a year. My 14 year old daughter has never been well. She has improved so much in the three weeks she has been seeing Vanessa that she is like a different person altogether. My brother just had his first appointment with Vanessa and my other two children will be in to be seen soon. I am extremely impressed and amazed with the high quality of care and the low costs for services.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Vanessa at TigerLily for several years. I have been treated for several things but the one that stands out the most is while out of town I got food poisoning which lasted several days, almost to the point I could not fly home, when I was finally home I immediately went to see Vanessa and after a treatment my nausea was completely gone, it was amazing. Also, I didn't want to take traditional medicine for hormones and hot flashes and am happy to say Vanessa has prescribed herbal supplements and has kept the dreaded hot flashes at bay.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to TigerLily for many years and every experience is a positive one. Every supplement and service recommendation has provided results. I go in for acupuncture every two to four weeks to manage stress, sleep issues, and any other things that come up. During the last appointment, I was struggling with congestion (the gift of living in Austin,) and the headache and pressure reduced considerably by the end of the session!

Negative experience: I came to TigerLily based on reviews. I visited twice. The first time was ok, the second time I had bruises all over my arms. When I got my bills I could not believe that I was charged a total of $600 for two visits. This place is a scam as they told me it would be $80 per visit. When I called them they said that they were charging that much because my insurance plan had a "high deductible" (so they adjust their prices based how they can get more money??). Bottom line I had to pay OUT OF POCKET $600 for this service. AWFUL. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

Fantastic experience: I have been scheduling regular visits with Tigerlily since August. I originally entered in on a Groupon and then continued on my insurance since I had such a great experience. Tigerlily is a great facility, Doug really cares about his patients and digs deep to find what's ailing you. While I haven't personally seen Vanessa, I've only heard great things about her as well. I have had issues with some irritated nerves and acupuncture has worked like magic in alleviating the pain. As for the holistic herbs/supplements they help provide, there has been awesome improvement in my digestion issues. If you're questioning whether to schedule an appointment, I wouldn't hesitate if you seeking to approach your health holistically or if you are experiencing any pain.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience! I received treatment for back pain, and leg cramping. I didn't have any more issues until I got pregnant 2 years later. I wish I still lived in the Austin area! This is definitely a necessity for a fitness instructor, or restaurant manager, who spends a lot of time abusing their bodies!

This place is owned by a beautiful husband-wife duo that hold really good energy and have unique, no-nonsense approaches to health that can be easily applied to real life! Negative experience: I was very disappointed with how the doctor treated me; he talked down to me, made assumptions about my physical and mental well being, and made me very uncomfortable. His attitude and poor attempts at bedside manner made me sure to never return.

Fantastic experience: I started coming to Tiger Lily Wellness two and a half years ago. I suffered extreme pain in my jaw from TMJ. I felt immediate relief and within 3 months the clenching and grinding my teeth at night was completely gone. I continue to go periodically and Vanessa is amazing. Fantastic experience: I was referred to TigerLily by our Primary Care Physician when they were unable to figure out why my teenage daughter was suffering from extreme fatigue, muscle weakness and brain fog. Fantastic experience: I came across Tigerlily by chance through an acupuncture Groupon and have since been a monthly patient for 3+ years. Upon my arrival of my initial appointment, I was asked to fill out an extensive health form (9+ pages) that included questions I had never been asked before by a health practitioner, which showed me they take a different approach to health. Douglas reviewed the results with me prior to my acupuncture session and suggested that I also come in for an NRT session (nutrition response test). Since then, I have been going monthly for a regular NRT session and it (along with Douglas’ wealth of knowledge) been the sole reason I have overcome seemingly unrelated health issues. I still continue consistent visits to stay on top of optimal health and would go as far to say that I consider Tigerlily as my primary healthcare provider. I have seen “traditional western practitioners” over the years, most of which results in a bad experience for me (I don’t feel listened to, medical advice is given without the full story and turned out to not work / cause negative reactions, etc.), regardless, I always make an appointment with Douglas to also get his opinion or for supplements to generate faster recovery/results. Douglas and Vanessa both have the best bedside manner. Both of them are so caring and excited to help you through even your toughest health challenges; plus, when the time comes, they will help you get off medications, as you will no longer need them. If you can be open-minded in trying something like NRT, I highly encourage you give it a solid shot. Douglas and Vanessa take their own advice and they look fantastic for their age, so that should be at least one proof point that it works.

Fantastic experience: A Miracle...A Blessing...Amazing results! We had a baby! After trying several alternatives, methods, ideas, testing, and fertility treatments, my wife and I were at the end of options to conceive. Fantastic experience: Doug at TigerLily Wellness & Acupuncture gave me long-term relief from chronic pain in my thumb and wrist.
