Fantastic experience: I've been to maybe 10-12 different chiropractors over the years with negligible results and had basically given up on the profession. In 2016 I ended up at the neurosurgeon and had two cervical disks re replaced. Earlier this year I began to experience numbness radiating down my shoulder and arm so I went back to the MD. He told me my vertebrae were beginning to fuse around my implants and there was no further treatment options available. A good friend referred me to Dr Cynthia at Active Life and I couldn't be happier!

Fantastic experience: I love Active Life, and cannot recommend them enough. Following a major surgery, I had severe back pain which warranted several visits to the ER with doctors who had no suggestions for solutions other than temporary pain killers. I searched for a chiropractor after getting the idea from my acupuncturist, and immediately upon reading about the clinic, I loved the intention of integrative wellness behind their practice, and made an appointment. I continued to be impressed - by the helpful and efficient scheduling (which we did via text!), the warm welcome I received from Jonise at the front desk during my first visit, the way the session was conducted including a soft tissue warm up, and even the experience of being put on an automated roller massage table to make the short wait while my X-rays were ordered pleasant. Dr. Schade did a thorough intake and was the first doctor I met who really took everything I was dealing with seriously, and actively wanted to address many health concerns that I had been dealing with for years, far beyond the back pain. My treatment plan tackles core issues from different angles, including biomagnetism, red light therapy, emotion body code, and homeopathic supplements. The work we have done has been so effective that I am a renewed person. My severe back pain is gone, I feel more energized, and overall I feel much healthier. I even pulled my partner in to give treatment there a shot, and he quickly became a fan himself. Some other things I love: they send reminder texts 24 hours AND 4 hours before your appointment, are incredibly understanding if you can’t make it or need to reschedule because you’re not feeling well, and the facility itself is beautiful on the inside and outside - radiating with positive and healing energy. Dr. Schade listens to her patients, truly cares, and is incredible in what she does. It is reflected wholly throughout the practice, including her staff. They are the perfect model of what a healthcare practice should be.

Fantastic experience: Love Dr. Schade and the “clean, well-lighted place” she’s set up here. Tree of Life (where the clinic is located) is a commodious, green little oasis behind a wood fence right off Stassney. The clinic appears to be in a little converted house, full of little devices and tools and furniture for orthopedic health. My first visit I saw Dr. Mael, who was a bit gruff but very effective after I had rapid-onset lumbar pain, and the adjustments he made brought me some same-day relief. I had a few follow up visits at the advice of Dr. Schade. Chad, the… nurse(??), taught me some exercises I still do every day to tone the lower back and they seem to keep the worst symptoms at bay. Dr. Schade is very interested in experimenting and pays attention to what the patient and body are telling her - the result is a customized course of treatment that, while not completely curing any pain, has helped me stay more limber and understand how to adjust my posture to stay mostly pain-free. Strongly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I've found a miracle in Dr. Schade. Long ago when I couldn't solve my back pains and limited mobility through conventional medicine, I looked towards Chiropractic care for help. Through a referral I visited Dr. Schade. I often speak about the euphoric experience when she first adjusted my spine, something I still enjoy. Additionally, I found my mobility returns, the pain decreases and I'm able to function and do what I want to. Fantastic experience: I came in barely walking with a pulled Psoas muscle. Dr. Mael treated me and I was able to move about without the extreme sharp pain I was having with each step. Fantastic experience: The holistic approach has been way better than the other chiro(South Chiro)that I first went to. After x-rays, Dr. Mael, has adjusted my back and neck in ways that were beneficial, not overdone nor too painful. It's a big deal when one gets rear ended and so important to get a good chiro., it's definitely a process and alot of work to get feeling better. Active Life also has a physical therapist which helps with stretching prior to appt.

Fantastic experience: I've been an appreciative patient of Active Life Chiropractic for many years. Back in March I hurt my low back badly and had been in debilitating pain for several months when I came to the clinic and saw Dr Jeff Maul. He listened to my story and tailored his treatments to my condition and within just a few short weeks I was MUCH better!! Now after a few more treatments, I am back to my pre-injury self! I had become VERY discouraged and debilitated by my unchanging back pain up to the point of coming into the clinic, so I am very very pleased to have my energy and mobility back! I think Dr Maul is a fantastic chiropractor and would recommend him to anyone!!

Negative experience: Update: No one from my original posts still works here ‍♀️ I wish them the best but updated my steps based on current management. Dr. Mael and Katie are incredible! I stumbled across Active Life when my regular chiro couldn't get me in. Meaning o was in debilitating pain and couldn't wait even a day. That was 7 months ago and I haven't looked back. Dr. Mael fully understands my pain and condition. It's lower back some days and shoulder pains sometimes but he senses it. I think he has a sixth sense! Katie is a goddess of massage. She has the ability to identify my pain points just by how I walk in. And I've probably never told her this but just being in her presence I feel distressed. She has a very calming and open energy but don't be fooled she will grind out the insurmountable boulder (knot) that's lodged in my shoulders. After my first two visits we needed very little consultation because idk how but she knew what hurt and what needed work. My pain migrates and meanders throughout my body. So we focus on different areas and different techniques. Cannot express enough gratitude for her healing hands! Last week I surprised my 72 year old mother with a massage. She hadn't had one in WAY too long. Sang Katie's praise But when we got in the car I asked "I think she's amazing what are your thoughts?" Mom quote "I have had many massages in my life. But this was the first one I had to head the advice to take my time getting up! I was such a noodle. And pain free". For someone who has had 3 knee replacements, broken back and needs a hip replacement this is huge! 2 days later my mom is still feeling better than ever. The power of massage and touch can be transforming. Katie is an incredible healer. 2 great practitioners I highly recommend! I only have one concern about the parking (there is ample parking but....) which I've emailed the owner about and hope it will be resolved quickly! If it isn't I will update this post.

I was unable to stand straight up back in Nov 2021 due to an irritated sciatic, and within 2 weeks was back in business thanks to Dr Mael. Since then I have seen both chiropractors on the regular and just love them both. They are so thorough and gentle, it’s not a one and done service. They treat the whole body at each appointment, and my BXBS insurance covers it. Plus, there are other wonderful movement classes, nutrition counseling, and various classes offered that can help heal the body, mind and soul. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dr Schade for YEARS for my scoliosis & related painful issues. She is always quick, effective & gentle. She also does magnetic therapy. She has had some amazing results -- especially with one lady I met who had psoriasis -- she said it was a "miracle" for her, after having exhausting the medical world for remedies.

Fantastic experience: Saw Tore for a massage/body work for the first time and Tore is amazing. I had a stroke and was paralyzed on my left side and even though I can move now, it's like my body hung on to that paralysis in a lot of ways. After one visit with Tore I am already feeling so much better and lighter, and my mobility improved a lot. I am really looking forward to working with Tore and seeing what happens. My body was able to relax in a way it has not been able to in months, and for that I am so grateful.

Fantastic experience: I am abundantly satisfied with the care that I have received from Active life for over 10 years now! My needs have been met in many ways, including chiropractic adjustments, massage, and biomagnetism most recently (which offered healing on an emotional level that I wasn't aware that I even needed, until the relief arrived ;). Really they care for me as an active athlete, and just as a human in general. I regularly enjoy "maintenance" sessions for several of the wellness services offered, and when I recently "tweaked" my back while strength-training, they scheduled and saw me so quickly! Fantastic experience: I am hooked on Biomagnetism at Active Life Chiropractic Clinic! Every time I have a session, I learn more about my body and what it needs and what trauma or pain I was holding in my body that was released. I feel lighter and balanced, and I know that I am healing on many different levels. In the biomagnetism treatment, I love how my body reveals where magnets need to be placed by Dr. Schade’s muscle testing using my feet. I walk out feeling balanced, healed, and grateful for this modality of deep healing. I had an appointment last Friday to heal my knee. I had meniscus surgery last November and tried snowboarding in March 2022. I hurt my knee and it was swollen and I could not bend it. Dr. Schade is gifted in her ability to pin point areas to work on and the magic just starts happening! She treated my knee with a mix of chiropractic practices and biomagnetism. When I left, it was less swollen and I have followed the regime of homeopathic medicine and my knee is MUCH better! It doesn’t get any better than this!

She’s also an expert at the Graston method which is hard to find but an amazing technique. I’m so happy I discovered her and her wonderful clinic. Dr. Schade also offers untrasound therapy (which is good for tendinitis, something I can get if I push myself working out). She’s helped relieve tons of pressure with just an adjustment. There are times when I’m asked to wait for my appointment longer that expected, but I’m patient and I’m sure the staff would accommodate me if I asked.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Schade is the most knowledgeable of the five or six chiropractors I’ve seen in my 74 years, and she may be the best in the region, if not the State. She has a calm nature, a very pleasing personality, and a great “bedside manner”. I can’t imagine that anyone who has just one appointment won’t quickly realize that they’ve found their chiropractor. I can’t think of anything negative to say. The receptionist is very accommodating, the atmosphere is peaceful, and even the landscaping out front is nice. Fantastic experience: I had long covid for almost a year and a half, and in combination with other treatments, what finally got me 100% well again was a Biomagnetism treatment with Dr. Schade. I will be eternally grateful for fully recovering my health and will sing Dr. Schade's praises to anyone who will listen.

Fantastic experience: I don't think I can ever thank Dr. Schade and Dr. Epps enough for what they have done for me. My lower back hurt bad enough to the point where I couldn't stand up straight. I wasn't comfortable unless I was laying flat on the floor, and even that didn't bring lasting comfort. There was never a single event I could pinpoint the reason for my back just falling apart out of nowhere. Their adjustments are literal magic. I was going to a chiropractor in San Antonio twice a week for 8 weeks with absolutely no change. I had to do some in-person training in Austin for a week, and after just two visits I can honestly say my back is already in so much better shape, it's just astonishing. If you've ever been to another chiropractic office, and didn't feel like it did anything, it's because they aren't listening to you and they aren't adjusting you to your specific issues. In fact, they are probably giving you the most basic adjustment you can get, and telling you to go home and ice it. Dr. Schade and Dr. Epps listen. They can examine you, and can pinpoint the areas that are causing your issues, and you can start feeling better in less than a week (my personal experience). They both have their own techniques, and both of them are amazing. I hope that if you are seeking a chiropractor, or on the fence about going to one, you will consider Active Life Chiropractic Clinic. Your body will thank you. And for some of you, it can be the difference between giving up to live with pain and discomfort, and starting your journey to actual healing.

I recently had a massage with Jhinna and it was AMAZING! I had a lot of tension in my neck and upper back and when my massage was over the pain was gone. I've had many massages and this was by far the best.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Schade and her staff are absolutely amazing! I’ve had chronic shoulder pain for a few years and in the few times I’ve seen her, she’s worked wonders. I’m so happy I found Active Life, and would recommend her any day.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr. Angelo for a few months now and he's been exceptional in taking care of my alignment, and my mini dachshund. My favorite part, is he only does what's needed, no additional/necessary treatments etc. including vitamin and mineral supplements that are so much better than the ones I had been taking from the grocery store. Fantastic experience: Dr. Schade literally changed my life! I had an acute lower back injury that was so bad I had to call out of work for 2 weeks. I had immediate pain relief after my first visit, and my PT sessions helped me recover just in time before my Christmas vacation. I highly recommend! Fantastic experience: Active Life is patient care focused. I first went for severe sciatic pain down my leg from my back. After several treatments I was pain free! I continued to go for over a year. As a senior citizen, I never thought I could be this pain free without the use of drugs or surgery. I truly believe Active Life has improved my mobility and improved my quality of life....other doctors just wanted to give me drugs, painful shots, even surgery. I recommend Active Life to anyone wanting to be drug free and pain free!

Fantastic experience: Dr Schade is an amazing healer. I've gone to her for years, and recently I was in a lot of pain throughout my body. She adjusted me with the help of Emotion Code and Body Code, and also did some Magnetic Therapy. The next day I was nearly pain free! And the low pain level, which is unusual for me lasted for almost a week, in spite of me overdoing it.

Negative experience: Avoid this clinic like the plague. It's the Titanic and is headed to the bottom of the ocean forever. They don't care about you, they care about how much money they can get from the services they provide...even if they don't provide those services. Shady practices.. Tons of other clinic that are legal, legit and really care about the health and progress of each patients progress. Go to those clinics!!!

Fantastic experience: Active Life Medical Center is my go-to for any instance I have an injury, pain or discomfort. I injured my mid-back doing overhead presses and tried to find a chiropractor that could help me recover. The team here is top-notch, methodical, receptive, helpful and polite. They were able to provide the plan that allowed me to make a full recovery. After I got better, I stopped going for a few months. The imbalances creeped back in because I started experiencing pain on my left knee when I would go running. I thought it wouldn't hurt to Active Life since they were able to help the first time around and it's amazing how they take the holistic approach and saw that the knee pain was a result of my imbalances and saw how my left foot would be more outward than the other. They saw the muscles that were weak that were causing other muscles to compensate, etc. They put me on a plan and I have not been experiencing any pain when I run. Goes without saying they are also very polite and nice. After I showed up months later, Leslie and the rest of the staff still remembered my name and were happy to see me. You can definitely trust them to help you get to where you want to be.

Fantastic experience: Update: after 4 years, I still feel the same as I did below about The Medical Center for an Active Life. They know body mechanics here. I was blown away by the approach taken at The Medical Center for an Active Life. The doctors here spend the time to fully analyze the mechanics of my body. I was able to learn more about my body's mechanics in that first consultation than I had learned from all the 25 years of previous chiropractic experiences combined. The Medical Center for an Active Life takes a holistic approach with a long term solution to wellness combining adjustments with therapy, massage, stimulation, and bio magnets to ensure the body's mechanics are restored to their natural function. I have not felt this good since I was in my early 20's and highly recommend The Medical Center for an Active Life.
