New York Presbyterian Hospital: Reviews
Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with the care my mother received at this emergency room. She was left alone for over half an hour with no communication about what was happening or what the next steps would be. I tried speaking to four different nurses, and each one told me they were busy and would get back to me—but none of them ever followed through. This kind of neglect and lack of compassion is unacceptable, especially in a setting where people come seeking urgent help. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.
Negative experience: Janice Binns needs to be fired.
Negative experience: Extremely slow!!! Came in at 2PM & it’s just about midnight now and I have yet to be seen by a Doctor smh Never again! I was told that CT scan results can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. The medical personnel here are literally just dragging their feet and barely doing anything in the emergency department. Absolutely no communication or updates.
Fantastic experience: C'est avec olaisir
Fantastic experience: جيد جدا
Fantastic experience: Лучше, чем в России
Negative experience: Nurse David d Leal rn consistently shows up to work under the influence of crystal meth GBL and katenine and should not be trusted with anyone's loved oones
Negative experience: Never have seen such rude, uncaring, cruel, judgemental nurses! This hospital has the worst nurses (maybe not all but allot) I've ever came in contact with! As a person with congested heart failure I will rather die at home then step foot in this hospital again!
Negative experience: The worst hospital in the world if I could give 0 stars I would
Fantastic experience: The truth is that when an institution is made up of people who are really committed to the service and well-being of people, it shows! I filed a complaint with this platform which in less than 24 hours was taken into account and I am quite happy that it was so because it shows that they are people who are at the service of people and willing to improve and maintain the quality in their institution, very good work and I hope that it always stays that way, that they are one of the most prestigious places and with such good human quality, congratulations for your management definitely this hospital has the best manager and people in charge!!!!
Negative experience: Been waiting three hours to be discharged been here a week things to do
Negative experience: Horrible treatment on 9/16 I came to this hospital waited 3 hours and more to be seen. On 9/17 I was seen in the ER the nurse was horrible. I was left with an empty IV drip for a while. She dismissed me when I was seeking some assistance. That nurse knew I was pregnant. She didn’t even bother to check in once in a while. I seen people wait 2 hours for discharge papers.
Negative experience: The worst, I couldn't get any sleep the entire night because of a disruptive patient, this went on for 3 days, the night shift was horrible, the room was sweltering hot all night.
Fantastic experience: Los mejores especialista estan ahi
Fantastic experience: Buenas atenciones y siempre pendiente del paciente
Negative experience: Never saw such a terrible ER . waiting hours and hours , terrible service. Needs emergency better management. (although the hospital itself is fantastic)
Negative experience: This hospital has decimated the classic NY Mets uniform. Imagine what they will do to your health.
Fantastic experience: I think used to be a participant members at New York Presbyterian hospital.l am also one participant.this differ from another.l learn that levels are all difference.l get better.l am forever nice and together
Negative experience: Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. They left an open head wound bleeding for 2 hours. Then when I returned to get my stitches out they left 3 stitches in. All nurses were rude and didn’t help me feel better after a traumatic bike wreck
Negative experience: Running medical fraud , stay away
Fantastic experience: Best service wonderful Drs
Negative experience: Providers are great, admin is horrendous. Typical not for profit health system.
Negative experience: One of the worst hospital experiences I’ve ever had. Uncaring and rude nurses and doctors. Misdiagnosis. Overbilling. They treat patients like they are part of an assembly line. The existence of this awful awful awful hospital is the strongest argument for universal healthcare.
Positive experience: I couldn’t quickly get information about the whereabouts of my family member. They need to fix this
Fantastic experience: ممتاز جدن جدن
Negative experience: Terrible ER patients waiting hours on soiled linen after asking for bed pans. Workers continue to lie about wait time IV unchanged for hours just terrible
Negative experience: They will literally leave you to die.
Fantastic experience: 51 years ago I was a young teenager and wanted to be an artist. But my life changed dramatically when suddenly I became very sick. I lived with my parents in Washington Heights and they admitted me to this hospital where I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I stayed here for 10 days as the nurses helped me adjust and understand my new life as a diabetic. They were very kind and caring and taught me how to take my shots and test my blood sugars. I painted a greeting card for them and wrote a poem inside it. They put it under the glass at the reception desk. I wonder where it is now. I'm sure the nurses are just as caring now as they were then. I just want to let you all know I'm still around and to tell you thank you for giving me hope and life :)
Negative experience: Don’t ever go here if you’re in medical need or seriously injured, they will let you die. I had kidney stones a few months back not knowing what it was, scared that it might be something life threatening.I decided to go to Presbyterian hospital 168th street and that would be one of the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for two hours and they looked at me with disgust, my mother told the front desk with about 20 people still sitting, I know my son there’s something seriously wrong with him.one of the employee told my mom(with a attitude) didn’t we tell you all doctors are busy, you’re going to have to wait.as I was waiting they had about 8 doctors treating one patient. Not one of them came up to me to see how I was doing. After three hours I decided that we weren’t going to get help and made a wise decision to go to Presbyterian in 67th street. they were so kind to me. I will never go back to Presbyterian 168th street and if you value your life you shouldn’t either.
Negative experience: La seguridad del frente no trata a las personas por igual deja entrar a quien ella quiera y a otros solo le pregunta y quien ella le parezca le exige las pruebas... y ID para entrar las reglas son para todos. Pero aquí hay preferencias
Fantastic experience: I can't rate the ER but for a scheduled surgery, it's the best in the NYC area.
Negative experience: This is one of the worst hospitals you could ever get care from. The nurse the doctors everything’s a rush they really don’t help people. Any type of emergency you have to get better off gone to a different hospital. Just getting medicine for something that they prescribe to you it’s almost impossible. The nurses in emergency room are completely useless and you might as well throw some of the doctors and they might get lucky one day if you do go now you get a decent one but overall this place is bad. Warning ⚠️ warning ⚠️ warning ⚠️
Negative experience: DO NOT come here for an asthma attack!!! They will literally let you sit there and wait while you cant breathe. By the time they check you your almost passing out.
Negative experience: The worse ER .. i have been here for 6 hours with no care dont come here
Negative experience: Horrible service. And it’s almost impossible to visit bc of their ridiculous covid rules.
Negative experience: Terrible!!!!! I've been in the urgent care unit since 3pm and its now 11:38pm. I've had a number of other patients that have been helped before me and were discharged. I asked one rn and i was told they had a bunch of patients ahead of me, that was around 10:30 pm. I just asked again about the wait and the same rn looked for my paperwork and they couldn't even find my papers. Extremely annoyed and the worst hospital I've been to in NYC. This is not a number 1 hospital
Fantastic experience: If you come in for an emergency, and they choose to admit you, you will be waiting at least 24 to 48 hours. Everything is amazing!
Negative experience: My sister came to the emergency room at 4:30 am. 3:00 later she was prescribed a cascan. she had to wait 12 hours for the examen, unbelievable. it's very good hospital but not for emergency.
Negative experience: Thanks to this hospital I have no trust in any one or anything specially in doctors and nurses. The nurses are rude, they are bully’s they mistreat you, they give you no assistances and they leave you to die. So people don’t get amuse because of the beauty of the building because when it comes to the attention from the personnel you get disappointed, frustrated, and even depressed.
Fantastic experience: Best hospital in the area. Dr Janice Lau is excellent, dedicated, and thorough. After a horrible experience at Jamaica hospital without even being discharged a friend picked me up and took me to NY presbyterian. Dr Lau helped me and followed up daily until she knew I was okay.
Fantastic experience: Here the great artist "Andy Warhol" died on February 22, 1987
Negative experience: At least one of the nurses threatens, bullies, and intimidates people online; and personally contacts them doing the same! Quite sad that a place such as this has such horrible people working for it!
Fantastic experience: This is one of the most rated hospitals In NYC. The medical team is good as well as the workers.
Negative experience: If you want to be in debt for the rest of your life over a surgery even with insurance come here. The charges and fees are just too much.
Fantastic experience: Haha, any warhol died here
Fantastic experience: I have had nothing but great experiences
Fantastic experience: Family member in critical situation, handled like a champion! Excellent service and best doctors in the world! Staff very cordial and fantastic experience overall. Highly recommend for emergency care across many categories, good job!
Fantastic experience: Excelente
Negative experience: If I could give less than a star I would’ve done so. I’ve waited to be checked for more than 6 hours and what my actual doctor was doing is having her “dinner” in her “office” while I waited in pain for the emergency room. Definitely not to recommend. Stay away. They don’t treat patients as human lifes matter.
Fantastic experience: This is the best hospital in New York City and they always get the job done ASAP
Negative experience: They need more space and chairs really uncomfortable wait but great doctors
Negative experience: Sent me home given that I am suffering in excruciating pain. Told me I have UTI and gave me antibiotics but to no avail. Still in pain. I have Muscular Dystrophy but they never checked the cause of pain. I was denied the due care I deserve. It would have felt cared for if they checked the possible cause of the unbearable pain. My husband has been out of office for a week now. Such a stressful and unfair treatment... I can’t even stand on my own and pee... I am literally dependent on other people.
Negative experience: Sucked, thought was very good hospital. They didnt help my daughter with issues, left us long time in unclean room, no follow up, lazy, & full of attitudes, & not very concerning.
Positive experience: Good place for great healthcare.
Fantastic experience: Their Neurological department knows what they're doing, might not have all the answers or solutions. For me, NYP is the best.
