Elemental Center and Elemental Medspa: Reviews
Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if I could. This office used to be Elemental Center, but now part of the establishment was bought out by PsychPlus. Thankfully, PsychPlus was helpful with removing a false charge I never should have received, but the rest of this place is a nightmare. I have never seen a psychiatric office double as a med spa offering things like Ozempic shots. It seems pretty out-of-touch for a facility that presumably has clients with eating disorders to also offer weight loss shots. You can’t get through on the phone. Calls go straight to voicemail, and nobody ever calls you back. The staff turnover is absolutely insane; every time I came in, there was an entirely new team. I had to switch psychiatrists multiple times because they all left, which really says a lot about how this place must treat its employees. Years later, they tried to bill me for a service I never had in 2022, and they even sent the invoice to my father, who I have no relationship with. It seems like a pretty big HIPAA violation to release my private health information to an unauthorized party. This place is the biggest scam, and it’s clear they only care about money, not patients. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.
Negative experience: I do NOT recommend Elemental Center or Dr. Martins A. Adeoye, MD. I came to this clinic only for Spravato treatment, which they said they accepted through my insurance. From day one, I made that clear. Dr. Adeoye barely spent 5–20 minutes with me during appointments, didn’t listen, and completely forgot why I was there. He suddenly claimed to be my psychiatrist, even though I already had one and never agreed to switch. After weeks of short, unhelpful visits, he still didn’t remember I was there for Spravato. When I reminded him again, he told me they wouldn’t treat me because my insurance “takes too long” to pay. I was dropped as a patient over MONEY. Dr. Adeoye was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. He didn’t care about me or my mental health—he barely paid attention. As a patient struggling with serious issues, I was treated with no dignity or respect. This experience made everything worse. Avoid this place if you’re looking for real help or compassion and specially this Doctor he should be ashamed to call himself a Doctor his is at the wrong place he should go work for a company it fits him well with his attitude.
Negative experience: For anyone who doesn’t know they’re now Psych plus so they don’t have any of your information. New insurance, you have to have an intake again, start over for specialty medication, approvals.
Negative experience: This place is a complete scam and money pit. One appointment with a psychiatrist here costs $455 and they don't even see you for a full hour. Some appointments were as short as 15 mins. They told me they take IL Medicaid but I just received a letter in the mail today claiming I owe them $1200+ for 3 previous appointments when they claimed that insurance covered all costs and that I wouldn't have to worry about anything. Doctor Wirick was okay. He was nice and was the first psychiatrist to not leave his practice suddenly or argue with me when wanting to get off of my meds. I appreciate that he worked with me to slowly get off all my meds until the last appointment. Aside from that he never really cared to know more than the surface level stuff which isn't really good especially when it comes to mental health. Also what confuses me about this place is that TMS is not covered by medicaid yet its proven to be safer and quicker procedure than ketamine (which is covered under medicaid)?? Overall I really don't recommend this place (or psychiatry in general really) since the receptionists rarely answer phone calls or emails, the fact that they aren't on top of insurance claims, and the fact they charge so much for such little service done.
Negative experience: Either committing insurance fraud or has someone confused within the billing department. I’ve been charged yesterday for a visit and haven’t been a patient here in years. This place is supposed to HELP mental health and not be a SOURCE of issues. Fix your operating procedures or shut down.
Negative experience: I personally requested termination because Dr. Adeoye was inattentive to our son’s care. It seemed to us that there was almost no care at all. The doctor could not retain basic information regarding our son, or our family situation, as if he did not review his notes on our son’s care from the start. We were not seeing any benefit to our appointments.
Negative experience: Bunch of little girls running the shop. Very little experience. This place does work for the court mainly. Not good for public. Keep looking
Negative experience: Stay far far away. These people have no idea what they're doing. They need help not their clients. The business they receive is mostly court order divorce nonsense.
Negative experience: I have been going here for years and it was going good until I forgot to give Sarah 5 days advances notice for a refill and now she has cancelled on me three times. I am on a ‘controlled substance’ so I need to see her monthly to get a refill. And to see her, means I just need to talk to her on the phone for five minutes. That worked great for me as it was convenient, but not sure if legal or ethical? I had not seen Sarah or been to the office in years except to do ‘vitals’ and I still received my scripts each month until I did not give her 5 days notice for my refill which was a new rule that I was not even aware of. Stay away from Sarah Sims as she is a sick person!
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Elemental center since 2016 and I can without a doubt say God works through Dr.Adeoye as he truly saved my life. I was going through a very alone and dark time and he was the first Dr to actually try to diagnose me. His credentials and good reputation are very much well-earned. Dr. Adeoye actually cares about his patients and their situation; he doesn’t just pass out meds like candy, he tries to understand you. Without him and his therapists I truly don’t know where I would be today. I highly recommend and If you’re lucky enough to get him as your Dr, you’re gonna be okay
Negative experience: Their billing is terrible. I'm actually ready to just report them to whatever governing body takes care of fraudulent billing. I can never get in touch with their billing department. They'll charge you months after an appointment after you think you've already paid your bill. One point I was prepaying but still getting billed months later. Every care provider I've ever loved at this place has left
Negative experience: If I could leave a 0 star I would. If you have depression, this place will only make it worse. I had to beg them to cancel my appointments because the service was so subpar. I told them the reason I wanted to cancel and discontinue my meds is I would rather be depressed than deal with their unprofessional service. The meetings only last 5-10 minutes. They don’t want to talk or help, them want to recommend as many meds as possible and move on. My last visit, Dr Nina double booked me with another patient and we both entered the tele health appt at the same time. She asked me to wait till she did the other ladies appt then 10 minutes later got to me and had me done in 5 minutes. To make it worse, they charge you 445 dollars a visit and the charge literally says the meeting must exceed 30 minutes when none of my meetings besides my initial intake lasted over 15. I cannot stress enough, avoid this place at all costs for the sake of your mental health. I haven’t had an appointment since August and they send me a 800 bill a week before Christmas, absolute joke.
Negative experience: Please do not use this provider as it is run very poorly! My child had gone thru with 2 different P-NPs (once with first one, then last 2 with second one) in last few months just for meds managment. Came to find out no one informed me that last P-NP no longer worked on the day of the appointment. Thankfully our PCP was able to prescribe meds for my child and referred to another provider.
Negative experience: I want to share my experience with Elemental. I had two Therapist since being here. Both were great. Then back in March of 23 this year. I stop hearing from her and my medication management therapist. I have been trying through all communications email , phone, Facebook , you name it. I can’t go in because I don’t drive. My experience these last 6 months have been horrible, terrible. You should not just leave a patient with out communicating with them. I did one time however kept saying my insurance wasn’t covered for this therapist I was seeing come to find out that was not true. I have contacted my insurance company and check your bills these people will still bill your insurance and your are not a patient. BAD BUSINESS STAY A WAY! I have did everything in my power to get and appointment for months.
Negative experience: Our appointment with Dr. Nina Osaghae was canceled with a notice less than 24 hours before and no refill provided to at LEAST last until another appointment with a different provider. I also had to make calls to request my deposit be refunded as it NEVER was. I've emailed them and spoke to them several times asking for an detailed statement as they never billed my insurance and took from the deposit to cover costs-I received a bill about $500, which prompted me to start asking questions. These visits are from May, we're in late August and still no reply. * Adding to my review in mid-November ... do yourself a favor and avoid this center. NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE. THE CLERK SAID I'M CATCHING UP ON VOICE-MAILS FROM OCTOBER AND HER RINGER IS OFF. I drove 45 min to find out yes, there's a scheduled appointment today, but that provider is no longer here. I could have been told that over the phone IF SOMEONE HAD ANSWERED!! THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT RAN IN A PATIENT FOCUSED WAY! WORST APPOINTMENT EVER AND EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!
Negative experience: I was a patient of this practice for approximately a year under Nina Osaghae, when Nina worked at this place, I was happy with the services rendered. My opinion of this place took a 180 after Nina left the practice. I suffered a back injury at work during a week of one of my appointments and I had to go to another doctor to take care of my back and I had to reschedule with this place because the times would have conflicted. I rescheduled for later that day and was told by the receptionist that I should give them a call if my other appointment would conflict with the rescheduled time. My other appointment in regards to my back inevitably ended up conflicting with this so I called no one answered the phone I left a voicemail stating that I would need to reschedule like I talked about on the phone earlier that week because my other appointment has gone longer than expected. I got billed for a no-show the next day and got left a voicemail by the practice to please let them know if I needed to reschedule which I did but it seems like no one listened to the voicemail that I sent. Which seems to be a reoccurring problem with this place because I couldn't get someone to answer the phone half the time when I was a patient there. I made an executive decision to stop taking the medication that I was receiving from this place because when I did take it and didn't take it people around me and myself didn't really notice a difference on how I acted so I came to the conclusion I didn't need the medicine and decided to cut ties with this place. I haven't done business with this place for 5 months until I had a appointment set up for me on the 3rd of October without my consent. I currently am going through a background check for my job and I am going to assume the appointment was set up because my medical file was ran however no one called me to see what would be an optimal time to set up an appointment. I had to call three times over the span of two business days to finally get someone on the phone to figure out what was going on. I understand if the appointment was set up because of the background check however under terms of principal and common courtesy it would have been nice if someone called me to set up an appointment seeing what time would work with my schedule instead of just setting one without my consent not taking into consideration if it would impede with other things going on in my life. I remember why I stopped doing business with them now. The customer service at this place is subpar.
Negative experience: Can’t be bothered to respond to emails so don’t bother trying to make an appointment here :)
Negative experience: Horrific
Negative experience: Deserves 0 stars. In under 2 years I have had 4 different providers because they seem incapable of retaining anybody, and of those 4 only half of them were interested in actually helping me or had any idea how to work with the care I needed. They shuffle you off to the first available person regardless of if that person has any knowledge or training to handle the specific reasons you are seeking help in the first place. If it weren't for insurance restrictions I would have left long ago. Do not expect consistent care, and especially do not expect long-term care. They also no longer communicate via phone, only e-mail so I can only assume this place is collapsing from the inside out. I will not be staying with them for a 5th provider--paying out of pocket or going entirely untreated are genuinely preferable options if I cannot find a different practice my insurance will cover. Also, they yanked me around for several months with some BS about unpaid bills insurance had already paid them for, which delayed my care goals for so long that they have now become a major interference with multiple other areas of my life that were depending on progress in this area which is not doable if they keep canceling your appointments month after month after month and lying about insurance not paying them.
Fantastic experience: Ignore all these bad reviews!!!! This is my brutally honest review of my experience. The staff is incredible! especially the receptionist that handled my follow up. The psychiatrist they have are phenomenal. Robert Made my visit quick and efficient. The tele visits they offer make my life way easier with my busy schedule and taking vitals/drug screening was done with the most accuracy by Dareen who deserves a raise or promotion! Everytime I come to the Orland location she always makes sure everything is up to date down to the precise details! The amount of work they do deserves recognition. I would 10000000 Percent recommend this facility to anyone for all your mental health needs!
Negative experience: I truly don’t know how this practice is still open! Every psychiatrist we establish care with leaves the practice! Management is clearly not doing something right! On top of that you can never get a hold of someone and now they only communicate through email. Stay far far away from this place and don’t waste your time. It will only cause you more anxiety and stress!
Negative experience: Every time I was here for my appointment, there was always a student in my session, and I was very uncomfortable. They don’t ask you ahead of time if you’re OK with a student in your sessions. I would recommend they start asking their patients if they are comfortable with a student in their therapy sessions.
Negative experience: This facility is terrible at communicating. I will not recommend a company who cannot communicate with their patients. They are there supposedly to help you but instead they seem to stress you out even more.
Fantastic experience: Great staff! Very friendly and genuinely caring towards patients. I have been seeing Janell and Kelsey and they are excellent
Negative experience: RUN from this practice...do not walk. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. This practice cares nothing for the patients they serve.
Negative experience: Horrible...horrible...horrible. DO NOT GO THERE!!
Negative experience: This place is horrible. They are so unprofessional, constantly late, and make medical decisions without your consent. If you have anxiety, they will make it worse with their shady practices, forgetting to fill your prescription, or filling them incorrectly. I can’t stress this enough, if you have to choose between dealing with your problems on your own, or going to them… deal with it yourself. Because they do not care about you.
Fantastic experience: My son has been a patient of Mr Kelly for therapy for years now. He has worked with us through many different situations and has really helped him. He is a kind, patient, and thoughtful therapist who has gotten through to my son in ways that many other counselors could not. I'm happy to have found him!
Negative experience: Everyone keeps leaving. It makes it difficult to share when you have trust issues. The front desk never answers the phone ever smh it’s so annoying
Negative experience: Would not recommend. I felt like many of the workers here cared more about profits than the wellbeing of people they're supposed to help. You'd be better off talking to those strange men on the internet than going here
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience. Avoid unless you have literally no other options. The nurse practitioner (who was great) I was seeing left the office and I was never notified, so I decided to make an appointment with Dr Adeyoe. The doctor was running over 2 hours late to the office! I wasn't the first appointment so the wait was even longer. To compensate for his lateness my first appointment with him lasted less than 5 minutes. He was rude and it felt like he already decided what prescriptions and medication samples to send me home with before he even knew why I was there. He was acting distracted and didn't appear to even be listening to me. The extremely unprofessional experience I received damaged my views on medical psychiatry for several years. There are great and compassionate psychiatrists out there, but you won't find them here. And if you do they're likely looking for a new job with other doctors that take a more professional approach to mental health.
Negative experience: I could not agree more with all of the reviewers here who have stated how unprofessional this place is. I followed my doctor here when he switched to this facility from where he was previously practicing. Had the most utterly bizarre experience with a psychiatric nurse practitioner here. My doctor had put me on a newer SSRI that gave me severe suicidal ideation. The day before my appointment the office called to let me know that he had an emergency and my appointment would have to be rescheduled. I told the person who called that I had become suicidal and asked if it was okay for me to stop taking the SSRI. Within a few minutes, a nurse practitioner called me back and was so very kind and helpful and compassionate, I immediately felt safe with her, which is extremely rare for me as I have severe anxiety and complex trauma (and she told me to immediately stop taking the medication). I was so blown away by her kindness that I asked if I could switch from my previous doctor to her. She said yes, so I did. My next appointment with her was like speaking to a completely different person. She was cold, dismissive, and very short with me. I felt so off balance during that appointment that I had a horrible panic attack. To top it off, at the end of the appointment, she suddenly said “Oh and I have a trainee / intern with me today listening to this, I should have mentioned that.” (I was doing telehealth appointments with them via Zoom so I had no idea anyone else was in the room.) I felt like I had been 100% manipulated and duped by this practitioner, I really thought she was a caring person but as soon as I was fully under her care (and after I had left a glowing review here, as she had requested that I do) she went full on Jekyl and Hyde. Extremely weird, upsetting behavior from a mental health practitioner, felt narcissistic and sociopathic and it was very distressing. I spoke to my therapist about this and he was appalled and suggested that I search for a different doctor. I set up care with a new facility 3 weeks later, and emailed the front desk to let them know that I was switching to a new doctor and would no longer need my appointment. Received an email back from someone named Judy that said, “Your appointment was already cancelled. - Judy” No explanation. If I hadn’t already had an appointment set up with my new doctor, I would have run out of all of my meds. Please don’t put yourself through this abuse. These people do not care about your well-being in any way.
Negative experience: Been here for 3 months. Medicine was back on tract doing great. Show up to my appointment wait 20 mins to find out my Dr. Had left. And then nothing from them. No letter no email no phone call nothing. Don't waste your time. Learn from my mistake
Negative experience: Terrible, awful experience. Was rescheduled multiple times, had appointments set and had been mixed up with multiple patients. I tried calling immediately and no one could ever answer the phone. I'm so glad I found another provider because these people do not care.
Fantastic experience: The best Doctor Ad number 1 thanks for your help with my especial Doughter i appreciate ❤
Fantastic experience: They understand and treat people with needs that are fragile. Love this place and would defiantly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Alexadra Neira, M.A is the greatest she listens very well I'm glad to be under her care just good vibes I believe she's the one that will help me best I highly recommend her I don't know where I'd be with out her thank you I'm very grateful.
Fantastic experience: I came into O.P to get information about a therapist and even though it was super busy that day in the office the two ladies I believe their names start with a J & K were really helpful. They were really patient with me while trying to multitask. It was great to watch them work as a team to get my questions answered.
Fantastic experience: Always feel so at ease for all my appointments. Great staff!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sarah Sims always helps me out and listens to me during our sessions. She doesn't use only medicine, she also uses spirituality and natural ways to help cope with mental health. A very down to earth and understanding Doctor!
Negative experience: Unprofessional, can’t get prescriptions filled, nobody returns your calls.
Fantastic experience: Alex is awesome. I feel comfortable sharing with her and she makes me feel seen and valid. By far the best therapist I’ve ever had!
Negative experience: Incompetent at best.
Fantastic experience: Excellent attention and very good handling of personal situations
Fantastic experience: My therapist and psychologist are great they helped me get back to a better place to enjoy my life. I can say they have helped me get out of a dark place in my life with great help. I am grateful for them helping with my anxiety and depression issues.
Negative experience: WORST PLACE EVER!!! My physiatrist left without telling me. I needed a refill and couldn’t get ahold of anyone.
Negative experience: This practice is incredibly disappointing. I was seeing a psychiatrist that left. No one told me. I went to pick up my prescription and it had no refills. The center would not call in the refill for me. So now I am on day two of not taking a powerful drug that you are not supposed to just stop taking. Incredibly immoral practice. I do not recommend this place.
Negative experience: First off, I'd like to say I'm a therapist myself and have over 6 years of mental health front desk reception work before I went to school. I needed to see a psychiatrist for medication management. I have sent in my referral 5 separate times to schedule an appointment because they said they kept saying they never got it. I had my insurance email me a confirmation and referral code so I can make sure this never happens again and the receptionist was able to find it and sent me all the intake forms. I filled them all out and she said someone will call me back to reschedule an appointment. (BTW they will NEVER call you back - you have to do this yourself every single time) So, I called today and asked to finally set up my appointment and I'm told I don't have a referral on file. I explain to the receptionist that I've already dealt with this and gave the referral and was able to move forward to intake forms and she had the nastiest attitude with me. I was in complete shock that this is how vulnerable people are treated and that the facility has such an unorganized system. I grew extremely emotional and couldn't handle it and hung up in tears. This place does not care about their patients. My father and my sisters see people here as well. My father who suffers from an array of intense mental health diagnosis and has never been to therapy before was seeing an intern therapist and was not offered any termination sessions before she left. He was left and was struggling to get them to set him up with a his new therapist for WEEKS. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED? His mental health was declining due to their poor management skills until he was finally set up with someone else. If the owner of the practice is reading this, please invest in proper training for the staff. People reaching out for mental health services are already in such a fragile and vulnerable place, they shouldn't have to feel like this from their therapist office too. I called my insurance and was able to acquire a new list of psychiatrists in the area and already have an appointment with someone at a new practice. It took me 2 hours unlike this center that has been going on for about 3-4 months. Do yourself a favor, preserve your mental health, and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Negative experience: They have a long wait list told me that waited a month for a call. Then called back said that they have a long wait list and they could not see him. That is only reason. I gave one star they said they would call with information to help him somewhere else no one called. I heard the doctor is awesome
Fantastic experience: I love both my therapist and psychiatrist they’re the best!!! They both are very professional and give great service.
Negative experience: Company is a ridiculous mess. Jumped thru hoops to be told by Vanessa I'm not gonna schedule. Super unprofessional and waste of my time
Fantastic experience: I am directly aware of a family member who is a client here and have heard nothing but positive outcomes. In reading some of the reviews, I am surprised at the issues presented about scheduling. The therapist, P.P. has made nothing but welcoming accommodations to provide adequate scheduling of therapy sessions, going above and beyond the norm. She is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate with her clients. The supervisor of the Orland Pk. office was also very professional and skilled. I would, without hesitation, recommend the therapists who service at this location! To you all, I thank you for your passion and dedication. A few suggestions to the office staff - remember to greet the clients in positive, kind ways, for the people attending are already facing many challenges in life. Also, office management should continue to educate the staff on billing issues. Finally, (this may bother some more than others) the counseling rooms could use some renovation. Most importantly, the therapists we have experienced have been exceptionally effective.
Fantastic experience: Attentive, kind and caring.
Positive experience: The office staff treat you like you are bothering them. Getting an initial appointment is very difficult, but once that is done, the appointments are made by the therapists. The therapists/APNs are great and I am thankful for their help.
Negative experience: Got to the office, waited and HOUR AND A HALF to see a dr, just to be pushed off to a nurse practioner. Capt. Sango sat in his chair and GOOGLED what to prescribe me, when i told him that the meds were making me WORSE not better, he ignored me and when i kept calling he told me to talk to a therapist. If i could give this place NEGATIVE stars i WOULD! So unprofessional!
Negative experience: Called to schedule an appointment, receptionist took my info to schedule me with a therapist for an initial eval which was suppose to be for a cancellation visit, once they knew I have Medicaid the receptionist literally said "Oh the soonest for that plan is 3 months, sorry about that"
Fantastic experience: Love Vanessa and Val. They drop everything just to help me. Love Paula, my therapist. She really gets me.....understands me. Gives me hope! I always walk out of there with hope in my heart and a smile on my face! Doctor A is awesome. Keeps you on a straight path and he CARES! LOVE ALL OF YOU!
Negative experience: There was never a time that I visited this place and didn’t wait over an hour to see my doctor without any apology or explanation. When I got my meds changed, I had emailed and called begging for advice on how to cope woth side effects, and was ignored each time. I absolutely dread this place, and will not be using them from this point on.
Fantastic experience: Great Service and Very helpful. They can help with anything
Negative experience: I wish I could put negative stars. This is the MOST unprofessional office I have ever experienced. First, my youngest son's first visit he saw a therapist for all of 5 minutes. We scheduled a second appointment with the doctor for meds approximately 2 weeks later. When we arrived at the office the doctor wasn't even there and they wanted the nurse practioner to prescribe the meds...appointment was made with THE DOCTOR! Inbetween all of this i tried to schedule an appointment for my oldest son. I called for a WEEK, left my name and number whenever I could get thru and was told they'd call me back...never did. The mailbox is always full so you can't leave a message and the one time I did get thru the woman said she was dealing with two billing issues and would call me back...never did. I think the welfare of a patient should have overridden her billing issues. All I wanted was an appointment. I would not recommended this doctor or office to my worst enemy. So very unprofessional! Just disappointed and disgusted!
Positive experience: I have been going here for a very long time, and I can say that the staff keeps changing and that there is always a wait, most of the time it is a long wait. But if you need help with from a psychiatrist Dr. Adeoye is by far, the best Doctor in his field. He care very much for his patients and wants them to do good in their lives and overcome any obstacle. Dr. Adeoye is one of the reasons why I am doing so well today. I thank him immensely and hope that it would end the same for you.
Negative experience: The staff has no idea what they are doing and the patients are treated like they bother everyone there
