Fantastic experience: I've suffered from chronic headaches for over 12 years and tried countless medical interventions with little relief. Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my treatments at AUCC! Had headaches since childhood and they had gotten worse. Saw Dr Smith for a series a treatments and my headaches and neck tension went away. Thorough evaluations and custom treatments. Always addressed the areas that were causing pain/discomfort at each visit. Had to discontinue treatments when moved - wish I lived closer to continue. Fantastic experience: After 20 years of chronic neck and back pain - with many doctor, PT and other chiropractic treatments along the way - I decided to give chiropractic another shot. Dr. Smith provided a practical, understandable, credible evaluation and analysis, pinpointing the two main problem areas. This is something none of the other providers ever did, and he has absolutely nailed it. After just a few treatments and guidance on exercises to do on my own, I can literally feel and measure the progress. I know there are still many adjustments to go, as well as diligence with the exercises and stretches, but then I have 40+ years of bad habits, bad posture and poorly-conditioned muscles to correct. I have been to several chiropractors since then and I find Dr. smith to be both gentle and accurate with his adjustments. High quality care. I have now become a maintenance patient with Dr. Smith. I go in every 4-6 weeks for a check up and adjustment. It always surprises me how much better I feel when I leave the office, all minor issues are gone! Fantastic experience: My first visit with Dr. Smith was in early February. I had been struggling with pain in my right hip for almost two years and pain in my left shoulder/arm for about 4 months. After a thorough consultation and x rays I began a treatment plan geared for me and my issues. It is now about 10 weeks later and I don't even think about my hip! I can get up from a chair or out of the car without any hesitation and making the "groan" sound! I am an avid hiker and going uphill and up steps had become sometimes unbearable. Friends were even asking me if I were limping. That's all pretty much eleminated now! My shoulder/arm pain was mostly in the front and back of my upper bicep area. For several months I had not had a good nights sleep from constantly waking up to readjust my arm position. I'm left handed too so just basic things like putting on shirts and jackets, reaching out, down or back, putting on my seat belt, and using a back scrubber in the shower had become excruciating. After working with Dr.Smith and the excercises he gave me plus a few visits to Scott Oglesby a sports massage specialist in the building that was reccomended I have regained my range of motion and am continueing to work on getting the strength back in my arm. I was so worried since my gardening season was about to begin but I was able to haul and put down 25 bags of mulch without having any pain at all! I highly reccomend Dr. Baxter Smith and can't say enough good things about the kindness, cleanliness and prompt service the office offers.

Fantastic experience: On December 24, 2020 I was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with intracranial hypertension, also known as pseudotumor cerebri. For the past few months, I had mornings where I would wake up temporary blind for up to one minute. Other times I’d have holes in my vision that lasted hours. I had trouble bending, standing, walking, turning my head from side to side; every movement gave me major migraines behind my eyes, and in clusters across the top and back of my head. The pain was excruciating. It was never ending and could only be treated periodically by steroids. My life had changed forever. I lost some peripheral vision, the ability to drive, I suffered from severe light sensitivity and had resigned to wearing sunglasses at all times, even in my bed to watch tv. For two years I tried over a dozen medications, had two spinal taps, and saw many specialized doctors, Neurologists, Optho Neurologists, and after the suggestion of trying a chiropractor by a friend; I tried Dr. Baxter Smith, an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. Immediately results! I began working with Dr. Smith mid November 2022. After my consultation, I was optimistic that Dr. Smith would be able to help me. Not only was he familiar with my rare condition, he made sure that I understood exactly what we would be doing over the course of my sessions. He showed me through x rays and his treatment plan exactly how and what he could do to get me back on track. After the first session, I was able to walk easier. After the second session, I didn’t need help up the steps. Each session marked a new milestone for me. I am writing this review after my 10th session, February 2023. I have finally been able to completely resume my life. I can sit, I can stand. I can turn my head in any direction. I can tie my shoes; to dance! I can drive! I no longer have to wear sunglasses to read or see tv. I no longer get dizzy from walking around. There are absolutely no migraines anymore. I encourage anyone who has suffered from any symptoms of Pseudo Tumor Cerebri to consult with Dr. Smith and get started on your path to health and mobility. My quality of life has completely reversed. My family and I are ever grateful for Dr. Smith.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Smith is the absolute best. I suffered from migraines, ear fullness, disequilibrium, tinnitus and dizziness for three months. I tried to get relief from an ENT specialist but, their practices and recommended physical therapy, failed to get me any relief. After three weeks with Dr. Smith, I recovered 100%. I thought I would never feel myself again, but Dr. Smith is an absolute wizard and I highly recommend him to anyone struggling with the symptoms I mentioned.

Fantastic experience: Ménière's Disease Relief! So I'm an athlete; my life depends on my health. In December of 2021 I began to suffer crippling bouts of vertigo which lasted 8-12 hours...the kind where you can't get up off the floor or you black out, the kind where you vomit uncontrollably and can't drive for 2 days afterwards. It was bad. I got diagnosed with Ménière's disease in April of 2022. I had to stop doing everything...no more training, limited coaching / spotting students. I cut out sodium to 1500mg per day. Minimal relief and still having episodes. Well, skip forward to roughly September 2022, and I read an article about a link between upper cervical chiropractic adjustments and Ménière's disease. I was intrigued...I researched on the internet and found Dr Baxter Smith to be "on top" of the ratings over and over again, so I made a call. I don't really know what I expected...maybe a decrease in severity? A few less hours on the bathroom floor? We did X-rays and some other manipulation tests and discovered that my Atlas was out of alignment, and that my neck had "straightened". Well, the first adjustment after that, we corrected the position of the Atlas...and guess what? I haven't had a Ménière's episode since! It's been 6 weeks. There's no "wrenching my head" around. There's no yanking my body. Dr Baxter Smith uses little tools that isolate the problem areas and simply tap them back into place. Nothing scary or painful, yet we always get the tiny little pops that immediately relieve my pain spots and indicate things are moving back into place. The adjustments are painless (or feel like a good stretch) and I always leave feeling "taller" haha! I started at twice a week and am now at once a week, and the change is incredible. I've gone back to cardio with no problem. I'm about to go back to lifting weights (carefully of course...it's been a while) and tomorrow I go back to training on my Cyr Wheel (my job). The Atlas has stayed in place (we did adjust it one additional time) and we are on to fixing a few other problems. My energy is incredible (except for right after I get adjusted, when I fall asleep almost every time LOL...my body wants to fix itself once things move back into place ). Dr Baxter Smith answers my endless questions (how the body works fascinates me) with a smile and I genuinely enjoy working with him. I highly recommend Dr Baxter Smith to everyone with Ménière's disease, everyone who has neck pain, everyone who has back pain, and everyone who thinks chiropractic MIGHT help them but are nervous to try it. Fantastic experience: I was suffering from chronic pain in my left shoulder that had gone on for about 7 months and would not abate, even with stretching (which usually takes care of any such issue for me). I had trouble sleeping, and although I could take part in my usual activities (such as gardening), they weren't as enjoyable. I went to my regular chiropractor but saw no difference after several treatments. Then I went to two different massage therapists for several sessions each, both of whom are excellent and with whom I'd worked in the past, and neither of them were able to provide any relief. The second massage therapist referred me to Atlanta Upper Cervical Chiropractic. My initial impression of the office was that it was very welcoming with lots of natural light from the windows, not cold and clinical like so many medical offices. The waiting area is very comfortable; it is separated from the check-in area, and you can help yourself to fresh coffee or tea or water upon arrival. Both Dr. Smith and Karen, the office manager, are professional yet warm and courteous. After a consultation and X-rays, Dr. Smith walked me through his analysis and outlined a treatment plan for me. He asked for my agreement, which I provided. Over the course of 2 months, I have seen a 99% improvement, even though I have been actively traveling during this time, which meant I wasn't able to go every week. My pain is gone. I have a minimal amount of muscle tightness, which I barely notice, and I feel confident that I can address this going forward with stretching. I am grateful that my massage therapist referred me to Dr. Smith, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to family or friends who were facing a similar situation. And very importantly, I believe that if Dr. Smith didn't think his services would benefit a particular patient, he would be honest about this.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend-Significant improvement on several levels. Arrived with mobility issues (old whiplash damage), migraines, and neck and shoulder pain. After treatment, migraines are reduced, pain has almost disappeared, alignment has improved, and mobility has really increased. Dr. Smith is thorough, professional, and attentive. He was very attentive to my specific issues and was very detailed with his approach to my concerns. I have has issues with my right ankle for at least 5 years and no one could tell me what the problem was or offer any solutions. Fantastic experience: I went to Dr. Smith on May 31, 2022, for treatment of sudden onset chronic vestibular migraine headaches and historic neck and muscle pain. I had almost continuous vertigo and migraines from March to the end of June. My best days of relief during June were when I had an appointment with Atlanta Upper Cervical Chiropractic. I am now migraine and vertigo free; Dr. Smith played a vital role in my multi-pronged treatment plan. I continued with appointments after the headaches stopped because there were so many other benefits, fibromyalgia pain relief in particular. I am in a much better place today mentally, physically, and emotionally because of this targeted and accurate treatment. Fantastic experience: Dr. Smith is unlike any chiropractor I have been to in the past. With chiropractors I have been to in the past, I would get my neck and back "cracked." Dr. Smith uses techniques targeting areas of discomfort that only occasionally uses that traditional method. I got great results and highly recommend him for treatment.

Fantastic experience: I came upon Atlanta Upper Cervical in february after dealing with persistent, chronic neck pain. It had reached a pain level of around 8 by that time. Physical therapy, cervical epidural injections, and facet joint injections given by my medical provider provided me with minimal, if any, relief. Before contemplating a surgical procedure as my pain management doctor had recommended as the next option, I decided to search the internet for chiropractors specializing in spinal issues. I am glad I went that route. Dr. Smith showed genuine concern in my condition and gave me an in depth analysis on the issues concerning my neck pain, more than any medical provider ever has. After the completion of the six week program and now four individual sessions, my pain level is very manageable and down to a pain scale of about a two. If you are willing to put in the time and effort and be consistent and persistent in your treatment, you will see significant improvement in your pain issues. Fantastic experience: The most thorough, methodical, and competent Chiro I have ever been to. I was worried based off of previous Chiropractic visits with other Dr.'s of what I might receive in the way of care. Dr. Baxter is the most professional care giver I have ever had the pleasure of working with. None of that TikTok Chiropractic here. No head slings, harsh adjustments, or loud pops just for the heck of it. He was sure to locate, isolate, and remedy my upper cervical issue in a very methodical and process-oriented way. Fantastic experience: I went to see Dr. Baxter Smith due to vertigo that was occurring several times a week from Cervicogenic Headaches and TMJ. I had found him while researching for an Upper Cervical Chiropractor, to help me find relief from my every other day vertigo and neck tightness and spasms. The office is very nice, and easy to find. Dr. Baxter and his receptionist are great - very welcoming and easy to work with. Dr. Baxter was great at listening to my issues and after making sure that this was the right place for me to be, which I really appreciated. My first exam included some balance tests and x-rays. Since the first exam and adjustment I have gone from 3 episodes a week to once a month which has been a great improvement! He has given me new hope that the vertigo can be kept at bay, and my neck and back have been feeling much better than before as well, which is amazing! He has also help to guide me with stretches/exercises that I can do at home help to keep me feeling my best. I hope this helps someone else out there, and would highly recommend seeing Dr. Baxter especially if you have been having frequent bouts of vertigo.

Fantastic experience: I would give this practice 10 stars if I could. I had several vestibular episodes (aka vertigo) in 2021 and had found some relief with VRT but was still struggling with the constant swaying sensation. Some vestibular support groups were mentioning finding relief after visiting an upper cervical chiro so I thought I’d give it a try and I am so happy I did. I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Smith and his assistant Karen. Not only have my vertigo symptoms substantially improved, but I also notice improvement in my posture, quality of sleep, and a reduction in headaches, neck and back pain. Fantastic experience: Dr. Smith is a refreshingly science-and-results-driven presence in the medical field. Unlike what I've gotten with other chiropractors (and other doctors in general), Dr. Smith based his treatments off of careful measurements and only made adjustments where absolutely necessary. Importantly, he was also very transparent with me about when I *did not* need an adjustment or when I needed a lighter treatment. His transparency and dedication to measurement gave me a great deal more confidence that we would see together how well the treatment plan would work - and it did. I saw him for chronic shoulder and neck pain that I've had for years, and now it's gone completely. Other chiropractors I've visited have thrown superfluous therapies at me without any concern for results - not so with Dr. Smith. I heartily agree with other commenters who say he's not a TikTok/Instagram doc - Dr. Smith is the real deal.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr. Smith for nearly a year for a mix of back and neck pain, thoracic outlet syndrome and balance problems. Until seeing Dr. Smith, I was not aware that the balance issues I was having were caused by uneven leg strength due to atlas and cervical spine misalignments. Over the course of a few months, I went from not being able to walk safely without a companion to assist me to walking independently daily. I have a connective tissue disorder that makes me prone to easy injuries and nervous system overloads. Dr. Smith is the only chiropractor I've worked with who has both an excellent understanding of lesser-impact techniques and the good judgement to know when to use them. He is kind, caring, and attentive to questions and complaints and is both thorough and understandable in his explanations of diagnoses and treatments. Bonuses: the office is pleasant, comfortable, and scrupulously clean, and Dr. Smith's scheduler and office assistant, Karen, is an absolute gem.

Fantastic experience: When I first saw Dr. Smith, I’d been suffering with terrible ear fullness, painful ear pressure, sound sensitivity and tinnitus for over a year. It was difficult to focus at work, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t socialize, I couldn’t plan for the future, I could barely exist it was so bad. After my ENT started throwing Meniere’s around as a possibility, I did everything in my power to disprove that. I tried diets, cutting salt, drinking a gallon of water a day, I took every supplement you can imagine and I researched like crazy. Fantastic experience: Dr. Smith has been a miracle worker for my husband Kevin. Kevin was having on-going pain in his shoulder and neck. Fantastic experience: I have dealt with chronic migraines since I was 12 years old that would affect me 2-3 times a month for 2-3 days at a time. Dr. Baxter is a life changer for me. He doesn't just treat the symptom of my migraines and curb the pain like pills which also make me stay at home. He treats the root cause of them. He took the time and energy to understand that history, and then through a careful and professional scientific approach he was able to make a massive difference in my quality of life.
