Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel has completely turned my life around. Our first appointment was about 5 months ago, shortly after my endometriosis & fibroid surgery. I was a mess- insomnia, high cortisol, symptoms of estrogen dominance, iron deficiency, cystic acne... I had about 6 different doctors, each managing one problem in a silo, masking my symptoms instead of addressing the root cause. Now, I *only* work with Dr. Patel, on everything. He considers the entire body, and tackles things in stages so we can assess the impact. After a series of functional labs, gut testing & bloodwork, Dr. Patel carefully recommended a gut detox, supplements & lifestyle changes. Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr. Patel since late January this year and it’s been such a beautiful journey. I’ve struggled with so many GI issues, lack of energy, poor sleep, recurring acne and really bad PMS in the past few years before hopping on board with the naturopathic route. Meeting Dr. P has been the ultimate blessing. The first appt was so thorough and we went over everything from past medical history to lifestyle and had a conversation about things my last doctor didn’t ask me. After our initial appt he recommended tests so we can get more info on what’s going on in my body. The second appt was even more detailed- he explained every test and result we got back. He also formulated a plan for me to help tackle some of the issues I had. Many of my issues were related to leaky gut, and gut flora imbalance, as well as, cortisol and sex hormone imbalance. Initially it seemed really scary to have so many issues happening at once but Dr. P assured me we would do it in stages and get to the most important ones first and then work our way through the rest. It was easy to get into the regimen because he gave me hope about getting better in ways that other practitioners couldn’t. And with that support I was able to tackle most of my issues and see results. I can now eat foods I love and not feel bloated, and sick after. I don’t have PMS anymore and the quality of my sleep has improved tremendously. My quality of life has definitely gotten better and I can say I am a lot happier these days. I couldn’t have done it without Dr. P.

Fantastic experience: I was introduced to Dr. Maura Henninger by a trusted doctor, and reached out to Dr. Henninger because I had increasingly difficult digestive issues that became disruptive to my lifestyle. After a few tests Dr. Henninger was able to determine the cause of my issues, and explained the treatment approach. After 6-9 months I feel as good as I have in recent memory, possibly the best I've felt my adult life. Dr. Henninger's approach is naturopathic, so it's not going to be as invasive as other approaches, but as a result it's not going to happen in a matter of days or weeks. If you take this approach you should be prepared to remain diligent and dedicated to the approach, but know that in the long run it will work out well. Personally I found Dr. Henninger easy to work with and an easy going personality. I've recommended her to multiple friends/colleagues.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cavanaugh is absolutely wonderful! She is kind, knowledgable, and detail-oriented. She has been helping me for the past couple of months deal with complex female health issues and transitioning off of the BC pill by testing food sensitivities, healing my gut, and understanding my hormones. Dr. Cavanaugh is the first naturopathic doctor I’ve seen and the visits are worth the extra $. The peace of mind and knowledge I have on my health alone is priceless.

Fantastic experience: It was May 2024 and I woke up again with a big bloated belly, I had tried everything, every diet, every tip on the internet, I was on my 4th doctor, and my SIBO still wouldn't go away. He really listened to my symptoms and did some at home testing to find the root causes of my problems and treated them from there. He is very understanding of my abnormal lifestyle/schedule as a college student and has created a personalized treatment plan to work with my schedule. Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of Dr. Maura's office since 2021, and I've been seeing Dr. Ronak Patel since 2023. It's been wonderful working with Dr. Patel - he's patient, intuitive (I always feel listened to) and he truly feels like my "health partner" when it comes to matters that my traditional doctors won't get down to the root of. Over the past few years, I've developed a system where I do all of my annual M.D. doctor's visits, and then I complement them with N.D. visits with Dr. Maura's team. Honestly, without my N.D. visits, I don't think I would have healed as fully from medical procedures. For instance, in 2023 I had major issues with my appendix and gastrointestinal tract, but I credit Dr. Patel's naturopathic protocol with actually healing up the drama that happened after my hospital visit (severe gut inflammation and a bout with C.Diff!). I've also had issues with my adrenals and some hormone imbalance, so Dr. McElligott had me do a DUTCH test in 2021 which completely illuminated how stress was impacting my body. This year, Dr. Patel had me do a blood test and adrenal test where we were able to see my body's progress since 2021, and he developed a protocol for me to get my hormones and adrenals in better shape, and to support my fertility journey as a woman in my 40s. I can't recommend this practice and Dr. Patel enough.

Fantastic experience: Before working with Dr. Patel, I was at a loss for how to deal with symptoms I had been struggling with when other doctors told me I would have to live with them. In just a few months of working with him, I've taken tests that no other doctors has ordered to identify the root cause of so many symptoms. After almost a year, I feel the best I have in years. He's attentive and supportive as a doctor, and it's truly been the best investment in my health.

Fantastic experience: I have worked with Dr Patel for 9 months or so now and he has made a huge difference for me. While my GI case was relatively mild, the testing and supplementation helped to effectively fully remedy my GI issues which consisted of leaky gut and IBS type symptoms. Dr Patel is a fantastic naturopathic doctor - he listens, clearly cares, has different therapies to try, and never tries to push lots of different and unnecessary tests or supplements. Some of the tests are not covered by insurance but they are totally worth it - they got to the root of my issues whereas a GI doc would have said I would need to just “deal with IBS forever”. I could not recommend Dr Patel enough.

Before seeing him I had been sent on a wild goose chase for years traipsing round other gastro specialists, multiple intrusive tests & ultimately just told to put up with my symptoms. After just a couple of zoom calls & some home test kits Dr Patel had properly identified my issues & gone further to help me spot other hormonal imbalances. Fantastic experience: So happy I discovered Dr. Patel. You can tell he genuinely cares about your health and is always a pleasure to speak to, especially when compared to some of the more traditional doctors. After two years of feeling bloated and excessive flatulence, i discovered I had SIBO with Dr. Patel. Within 3 months, I am back to eating all the foods i missed. My only complaint are the prices, but hard to put a price on your health!

Fantastic experience: Before meeting with Dr Patel, I was struggling with super bad bloating/gas and abdominal pain. I visited several gastroenterologists for almost a full year, and I never got a straight answer about what was causing my symptoms. This was so frustrating. Dr. Patel ordered me several at home tests and we discovered I was dealing with SIBO and Leaky Gut. Finally having an answer about what was happening to my body was so refreshing. From then on I have been working with Dr. Patel to help heal from SIBO and Leaky Gut. My symptoms are not totally gone and I still have work to do. But wow, I feel A LOT better than a year ago. They've helped evaluate and treat me to heal and optimize my gut microbiome over the years with a combination of lifestyle + antimicrobials + careful monitoring, resulting in day-and-night differences in how I feel physically and mentally.

I was dealing with the worst autoimmune flare up I had ever experienced and was struggling with terrible pain and other systemic issues. Fantastic experience: I have been working with Dr. Maura since January 2024 to find relief from chronic perioral dermatitis. Her mission is to find true healing for her patients, rather than band-aid solutions and that's what she's done for me by helping me find relief for my skin issues. Working with her so far has been life changing for me. For three years I went between my dermatologist and allergist trying to figure out why I was breaking out in rashes on my face. I took blood tests, prick tests, patch tests to check for allergies, food intolerances, autoimmune diseases, viral infections and not getting any real answers on what was triggering the rashes on my face. After 2.5 years I finally got the diagnosis of perioral dermatitis from my allergist, but I was just prescribed allergy meds, ointments and steroids that felt like it was making my situation worse and not getting to the heart of the problem. I started looking into Naturopathy because I knew something else was going on and I wanted someone to have a real holistic look at my health. From the moment I reached out to Dr. Maura's practice, it was a transparent and open conversation. The first appointment she listened to what I was going through and where I've been, and asked questions about my general health. She took a look at my past lab results and pictures. She felt confident we could get me to.a path to healing and that made me feel confident too! She then recommended some additional labs to get an overall look at my health. They were mailed directly to my home and were easy to perform. The second appointment we went over the lab results which showed I was having gut issues that possibly were effecting my skin. She prescribed me a treatment plan which was a mix of supplements and diet for six weeks. My third appointment we discussed the results and I was soo happy to have had six weeks of no face inflammations by following her plan!! After three years of struggle I had found relief in under six weeks! Before they even booked my first appointment they were upfront about costs for each appointment and estimated costs for labs and meds, so there were no surprises at any point in the process. Dr. Maura works with Fullscript for the prescription plan if you have any needed supplements, and they were delivered right to my door and I had the option of auto-refills. If I had any questions as I was waiting for my next appointment, Shelli who is the practice manager, was really quick to respond to my inquiries through email. In addition to having relief from my rash outbreaks, I feel healthier than I have in ten years! I lost weight that I needed to lose, I am sleeping better, and my overall mental health is better. I cannot recommend Dr. Maura enough and am looking forward to continuing working with her.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I have been seeing Dr Patel for about a year now. I had chronic bursitis issues and she had major gut issues. He does a great job explaining how he comes up with treatment plans and how to get to the bottom of actual problems. He’s not in it to keep you on meds and tests forever, he wants you to heal and continue living a healthy life. We have both healed and now I am approaching him again to understand my hormones given that I am approaching that perimenopause time in life. The best part of Dr Patel is he doesn’t let you go down a rabbit hole of social media craziness but rather guides you to a common sense approach to your problems . I recommend him to everyone!!

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Dr. Maura and her practice, my wife and I expecting a baby. I don't usually write reviews, but have to express my huge thanks and convey to anyone looking for a functional medicine practice that gives answers around infertility, this is the place. My wife and I both had issues: my sperm quality was low and our reproductive endocrinologist had no answers. My wife was struggling with PCOS and our reproductive endo was telling us there was no chance of a natural conception. Wrong. After working with Dr. Cavanaugh for a few months, my wife's hormones were in a totally different place – really her whole health picture turned around. I worked with Dr. Cavanaugh as well, in that period of time and my sperm quality increased dramatically. We were able to conceive naturally. It's sort of a miracle. Dr. Maura met with us as well during the months we were with the practice, and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. I had various issues that I didn’t realize were connected (hormonal, fatigue, gut issues), but Dr.Patel listened to each concern and connected the dots. He recommended a range of tests so we were able to understand what was going on and tackle each one by one. I really liked his strategy of treating the biggest issue first and working through others over the months so the process wasn’t overwhelming. After years of struggling with chronic health issues year after year, and being told my test results were “normal”, my voice felt heard here. My body feels like it’s functioning more optimal than ever before and I’ve learned so much throughout the process. Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Patel now since October. I was struggling with many gut issues, extreme fatigue and etc, etc. I was very much unimpressed with my GI’s response to the worsening of my symptoms. Beyond my required colonoscopy I get every 3 yrs she is pretty useless. I wanted to go the functional medicine route because I have seen so many people I know Band-Aid symptoms instead of discovering the root cause that is creating the symptom. I didn’t want to continue the cycle, I wanted to irradicate it. Before seeing Dr. Patel I would blindly take supplements based only on what I thought I needed but I would not achieve the desired result. Since I have started treatment with Dr. Patel my health has done a complete 180. He ordered a few diagnostic tests and a lab. Then he gave me a treatment protocol that we adjust based on the progress/new results etc. His temperament is very approachable and easy to talk to. He really aims to educate on what you’re dealing with so you are very much in the loop on why he recommends certain things and how they work. I just bought a book he recommended. He also suggested to me when he was covering the labs that I record so I can reference later because he covers so much it could be confusing when thinking back on the conversation later. Dr. Patel is also always prepared for our visits, he doesn’t need to be reminded of everything we already covered and where we are now. Lastly, sometimes when I am working from home I won’t put makeup on or have some huge sweater. I wouldn’t typically go to the doctor like that but Dr. Patel doesn’t feel judgmental if I call into our appointment like that. I am so thankful for his efforts/treatment etc as well as Shelli who is the office manager. Shelli is extremely responsive and friendly if I want to reconfirm anything she reaches out to Dr. Patel and gets back to me in a very timely manner. I also had originally reached out to her in 2020 when my symptoms originally began and when it became apparent they weren’t going away I took the plunge. Shelli walked me through the whole process and practice each time I asked any questions. My only regret is not going sooner, great level of care and great results thus far. I finally am starting to be able to do the things I enjoy and feel like myself again! I am excited to continue to restore my health with Dr. Patel. I have recommended him to my good friend and I would recommend him to anyone who wants quality comprehensive care.

Prior to seeing him, I had been diagnosed with SIBO by a functional medicine doctor, who prescribed supplements and a specific diet. Unfortunately, my condition worsened over time. Searching for alternatives, I discovered Dr. Patel on Google and decided to give his services a try. Dr. Patel approached my situation with exceptional thoroughness, conducting comprehensive tests to identify the root cause of my symptoms. He suggested checking for fibroids, which led to the discovery and subsequent surgical removal of two 10-inch fibroids. Moreover, he addressed the underlying hormonal imbalances contributing to my health issues. Four months into treatment, I've regained my energy, lost weight, and essentially got my life back. The difference in how I feel now compared to before is like night and day, and I am profoundly grateful for his care. I am continuing to work with Dr. Patel to further optimize my health. Fantastic experience: Dr. Maura Henninger is hands-down the best naturopathic doctor in the tristate area — and arguably one of the best doctors of any kind that you're going to find. I came to her with a number of health issues including digestive symptoms that no doctor (including Mayo Clinic) could figure out, as well as autoimmune diagnoses. After about six months of working with her, I am virtually symptom-free. Sort of a miracle. I don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Maura's professionalism, expertise and seemingly singular knowledge rate her a cut above the rest. Working with her costs more than going through insurance but my health problems used to consume me and they don't anymore. That is worth every single penny. Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel has helped me tremendously with my digestive problems. Testing showed I had SIBO, H.Pylori, and Candida overgrowth. We are also working towards getting me off Omeprazole which I have been taking for many years. He explained my test results very thoroughly making it easy to understand them. Negative experience: I was extremely disappointed by my experience with Dr. Maura. I was initially very excited to work with her, as I truly believe in healing the body holistically, and I was interested to see how naturopathy could help me. While she did help run a few tests that provided some useful data, unfortunately, the way the practice is run gets in the way of any useful insight. It felt to me as though she was overly concerned with costs, and under concerned with my wellbeing. Every appointment felt rushed, and I didn’t really feel clear on how I should be monitoring my progress and the changes I should be expecting. It just seems like she has too much going on in order to sufficiently help even though her ideas and methods have potential. The concern with fees really took away from the visits as well. I was asking a few questions on the fees based on the information they had on their website, and then they raised the prices within a day of me asking without any notice except in an email signature. I never heard of a business changing prices on whim. I then specifically asked if I booked appointments before the price change was effective in a couple days if I could keep the rate that was initially quoted to me and was told “yes", so I booked 2 more appointments. They then proceed to charge the “new” rate on the first booked appointment, so I had to ask to have it adjusted as we had previously discussed. On the next appointment, I had to move it a couple times, so I figured they were going to charge me the new rate, and I was prepared to pay it as I just wanted to discuss things a bit further. However, instead of receiving an invoice as usual, I receive an email reiterating their new rate and that they "aren't in the business of bartering with patients.” I’m assuming Dr. Maura had to cancel or didn’t have any further recommendations for me because did she really expect me to continue seeing her after implying I’m “bartering” for the service. I was truly astonished at this email. I would think a naturopathic practice would understand the importance of reducing stress for its patients. It really is a shame because I was looking forward to having some help and guidance. I’m not a cheap person and would be willing to pay for anything that would help my health. They have to understand as naturopaths, with nothing covered by insurance, it gets expensive quite fast with no guarantee that it’s going to work. Being a little more flexible and understanding of the financial aspect would go a long way and not devalue her experience as a naturopath. There is value in patient loyalty as I’m sure they will find out (I had even recommended my mother to the practice!).

Fantastic experience: I started working with Dr. Patel due to my GI issues that I had been trying to solve on my own, however nothing worked. Since working with Dr.Patel for almost a year now, he was able to pinpoint my GI issues, discovering that I had SIBO, which we were able to effectively treat with supplements. He helped me work on numerous areas, from GI to hormone health and immunity, taking the time to go in depth and explain everything from my lab results. He is extremely knowledgable, patient, a good listener, and is overall a delight to work with, even taking the time to answer and explain any additional questions I may have. Negative experience: I was recommended for this place and I had high hopes, but my experience was disappointing. I felt comfortable with Maura at first until I paid more attention to the practice and notice a big concern for patients well being. I paid in total of about 1K in bills. I was provided with a portal usage but wasn't given much guidance on how to find the info I needed. They are located in both NY and Connecticut but I didn't have the option to do a virtual visit in Connecticut or in person in Connecticut for insurance reasons. I went for a 60-minute virtual initial visit which the amount of time wasn't necessary so patients should have had the option to select the amount of time and amount they are comfortable in paying. Later, I ordered the test kit. It arrived at a timely matter but I didn't get full communication so then I needed to retest part of it. That means they needed to redeliver a test kit. There was no apology on their end with any mistakes made. The lab review appointment was brought up to me which seemed unnecessary as guidance was already provided by the lab so I declined it. Months later, I was provided a new set of pricing and the current patient would need to pay the new pricing despite not completing the process yet. After I already made the visit, I found out they don't provide receipts for out-of-network claims. Despite claiming to be doctors, they lack recognition here and charge as if they have the title. The inaccurate time frame and miscommunication for my results was unsettling, and accessing them required additional follow ups. Payment is required for Maura to review your lab results. Genuine doctors usually examine results without upfront payment. Notably, my test results showed red flags. When I sought a retest for progress, they suggested a 15-minute session, initially appearing complimentary, but an unexpected bill arrived in my inbox later. I decided to not attend due to uncertainty about an additional test kit request and potential unnecessary extra cost. My overall impression is that this practice prioritizes financial gain over genuine concern for well-being during vulnerable times. I hope they will make things right. -- UPDATE 2/7 I appreciated being contacted, as it indicated that my review had been acknowledged by the practice. I received both an email and a voicemail. However, the experience soured after listening to the voicemail. She emphasized it being a bad review and her words didn't sound like she liked what I had to say. While she expressed a desire to make things right, there was no mention of how she planned to do so in either the email or voicemail for me to feel comfortable to respond back.

Fantastic experience: I was so worried about stopping birth control and what would happen to my PCOS symptoms. Thankfully I found Dr. Shannon! Forever grateful to her for guiding me step by step on how to successfully stop birth control and for simultaneously addressing my PCOS at the root cause. I've never met a doctor like her before: she truly understands women's hormones and was able to look at me as an individual and tell me exactly what I needed to do to have a normal period — no PCOS symptoms (acne, hair loss, weight gain). I have post-infectious IBS which causes digestive issues including indigestion and other unpleasant symptoms. Dr. Patel’s recommendations/supplements helped my indigestion improve within a month. I have never had this much success with other protocols for healing my IBS before (I have tried many). He was very thorough in testing my entire digestive system (and other related systems). Fantastic experience: I worked with Dr. Patel for the past 8 months to help with gut issues, mood, low energy. The practice was amazing because I came in with some what 'vague' symptoms which a traditional doctors have never taken seriously or helped with. Also doctors have told me before there's nothing to be done about sub-optimal health in some areas, or just to wait and see what happens which is frustrating. The holistic approach was extremely helpful because I was able to understand how my symptoms were connected and how they can be addressed holisticly by getting to root causes. Dr. Patel takes the time to walk you through everything and make a personalized plan for your health, he is very kind and a good listener which is a relief after seeing doctors who don't seem to really care about your symptoms. Fantastic experience: I began working with Dr. Patel 10 months ago for chronic GI problems. He had me complete several tests, from which it was learned that I had SIBO, leaky gut, and low T3 hormone. After years of working with conventional medicine doctors, who told me I seemed healthy or simply told me I had IBS, Dr. Patel finally identified the root causes of my severe GI issues. Dr. Patel proceeded to put me on an herbal SIBO protocol and prescribed me supplements to support my anxiety and thyroid problems. He ordered thorough testing, and even asked me if there were other tests that I wanted to do. That was HUGE, as I’ve had several doctors turn me down when I requested tests in the past. (That seriously blows my mind. If I want to be tested and am willing to pay for it, WHY NOT?!?!) The conventional doctors I saw about my digestive problems were absolutely useless. They wanted me to accept IBS-D as a condition with no cure, and could only offer me drugs to slow down my intestinal function and hopefully reduce my symptoms. However, after working with Dr. Patel for about 6 months, the severe IBS that I had been struggling with for 3 years finally started to heal! Additionally, I really appreciate that I was able to do my testing at home and my office visits online. I couldn’t find anyone like Dr. Patel near where I live, so I’m really thankful I could work with Dr. Maura’s clinic this way.

Negative experience: Had been working w/ Dr Patel for 18 months and invested a lot of time and money into my health and getting better. Asked for a script two weeks ago, no response. Followed up a week later, no response. Another week has gone by and finally called the office and was told I'd definitely here from him same day. That was almost 48hrs ago at this point... Disappointing and completely unacceptable to completely ignore a patient. At least give me the courtesy of knowing that you're no longer working with me. To boot, I'm only incrementally better after a year and a half and thousands of dollars. I feel maybe one day we could have gotten this straightened out but I've begun seeing a different, more knowledgeable doctor as I don't deserve to be ignored.

I was told that I 'just had IBS' by other doctors so when I met Dr. Patel, I was so happy. He took such a deep dive in to my past medical history and my current symptoms and figured out that I had Leaky Gut and SIBO. He gave me the supplements he thought my body needed not just randomly from a list of supplements. I am feeling like a new person since starting those supplements. I think the best part of this all is that I won't have to be on these forever. He is looking to actually heal my body so that I can go back to feeling great without restrictions.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel is awesome! Highly recommend him for any GI issues. Over the last few months he has helped me feel the best I have felt after getting diagnosed with SIBO. I didn’t realize how badly I felt after eating, I kind of thought it was normal. Now no bloating at all! I will say the process is not linear, definitely had some ups and downs trying different supplements, but it was worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Dr Maura has turned my life around! I started seeing her a couple years ago when my skin was basically screaming for help, and nothing else was working. Our first session was very thorough and we had a plan to diagnose and figure out the root cause right off the bat. With home test kits it was all super easy, even at the peak of COVID. It took a lot of work and patience but within 4-6 months I was seeing dramatic changes in my skin - and almost two years later I’m still doing pretty well! Fantastic experience: I went to see Dr. Ronak Patel at Dr. Maura's practice with significant stomach discomfort and poor gut health. In my time with Dr. Patel, not only did he completely heal my stomach (more than any doctor was able to do previously), but every aspect of my health and wellbeing has drastically improved under his care. Beyond my stomach, I saw unprecedented, radical improvements across all aspects of my wellbeing, including my energy levels, attention, and mental and hormonal health. Dr. Patel puts genuine care and time into his patients. Unlike any doctor I've previously seen, Dr.Patel doesn't look for a quick "fix", but truly invests time in understanding the root cause of WHY you feel a certain way, and thus his care is preventative, not just reactive! In a word my experience has been life changing. I have recommended Dr. Maura practice to every friend, family member, and co worker.

Fantastic experience: I looked for a naturopathic doctor near me (NY) to get to the bottom of my GI issues (the usual nasty GI symptoms which I won't go into detail about, but for anyone who's had them, you know what I mean), which were also causing some serious secondary issues--namely food sensitivities (swollen face, itchy skin rashes, ugh). I I know a lot about conventional doctors because I've often seen elderly family members go to doctors & hospitals who prescribe too many prescription drugs. From their experiences, I learned a lot about the limitations and downside of conventional medicine.That's why I did not want to go to a conventional doctor because they know next to nothing about nutrition (they only receive 4 hours of training in nutrition during their entire medical education), and they usually know nothing at all about natural healing (because they've been programed to push pharmaceuticals). When I found Dr. Patel (the GI specialist in Dr. Maura's practice), right away in our first consultation (1 full hour), I had a good impression. Dr. Patel is eloquent and has an easygoing manner. He explained everything to me clearly and succinctly, answered all of my MANY questions, and then told me how to proceed. His office staff (Shellie) is delightfully easy to reach by phone. She is refreshingly efficient and has always responded to my calls and emails immediately and always to my complete satisfaction. Awesome! She gets 5 stars from me, too! So she sent me the kits for the 2 tests he prescribed (the poop test and saliva test, both which I could do from home), as well as all the materials I needed to send the tests to the various labs (packaging & mailing labels, which made it really easy for me). She also sent me the requisition for the blood test--for that I had to find and go to a lab--Dr. Patel recommended 3, and I used the one that was the least expensive). After he got the test results (after about 1 week), we had another consultation (1/2 hour) in which he identified and described the problems I had--I won't go into detail except to say that one of the issues was microbial parasites (yikes!), which I've since learned is quite common, maybe 50% of Americans have them, without knowing it--you can get them from contaminated food or water, so if you eat out a lot (like I used to) and you've got GI issues, you've probably got parasites! If you have any GI issues (such as frequent loose bowels), the FIRST thing you should do is to check for parasites. Conventional doctors rarely test for parasites. Go figure. I followed Dr. Patel's advice STRICTLY and felt much better within one week (i.e., no more GI distress). After one month, I felt completely cured, and after 3 months I felt great! Everyone tells me I look great, too! I keep getting compliments. His program is easy: he prescribed several natural supplements and a diet plan--that's all. Painless and without pharmaceuticals (prescription drugs always have nasty side effects, which is why I don't want to use them). Plus, from the test results (he's an experienced "lab guy" and interpreted those lab reports like Derek Jeter played shortstop--For those of you who don't know baseball, that means he's not just good, he's great at it), he identified OTHER potential health issues which up until then I had NO idea about (thyroid & blood sugar levels, yikes!), which I feel I've nipped in the bud, thanks to Dr. Patel! Another plus: Consultations were always very conveniently held via Zoom and on time--I absolutely despise having to waste my time in conventional doctors' waiting rooms--they never see you at at the scheduled time, but only when they're ready to see you. The only downside about any naturopathic doctor is that your health insurance provider may not pay for all or perhaps any of it. My advice: If you have the money, IT'S WORTH IT. You'll only have to do the program once. You heal, and you also learn about how to stay healthy. That is invaluable.

Fantastic experience: I started working with Dr. Ron Patel several months ago for chronic gut issues. I am very pleased with his care and treatment plan for me. I am remarkably feeling better under his guidance. I highly recommend him as a doctor for any gut issues.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has struggled with nebulous stomach problems for 15 years (since I was nine), and seen numerous other doctors and tried various kinds of medicine, I cannot recommend functional/holistic medicine enough as a great way to get to the root of the health issue. Dr Patel is a phenomenal practitioner who has helped me over the last seven months go from only being able to tolerate certain foods to being able to eat a range of things without my stomach causing me pain. My favorite parts about this is the relative affordability of treatment (medicine is fairly inexpensive) and how Dr Patel would walk me through the labs and help me understand what each marker means, and the best way to improve those things. I truly felt that Dr Patel gave me the right treatment when other doctors would not, and I am not exaggerating when I say that 15 years of discomfort due to my health issues may be coming to an end under Dr Patel’s supervision. I highly recommend him for GI/autoimmune issues. Thanks Dr Patel! You rock!

I originally reached out regarding certain gut issues and I truly felt relief after my first visit with just some guidelines he gave me before any tests were even done! After we did several tests and I got my results, the way Dr Patel explained everything in great detail was simply priceless. The journey is not over but there is nobody else I’d rather be on this journey with! I’ve learned so much and felt so much improvement in my health/body/mind.
