Elite Sports Club-River Glen

Positive experience: I really like this club but on the climbing structure in the quad and there are these 1.5 in pieces of wood above the stairs, and my friend hit her head on one if them while running up the stairs. She ended up bleeding a little bit. For it to be safer for other kids the pieces of wood should really be taken down.

Negative experience: I signed up for childcare and then needed to change it due to personal circumstances. I gave them *plenty* of notice and they forced me to pay them. I will NEVER give another red cent to them.

Fantastic experience: This review is primarily for the children's swimming lessons offered at Elite. My son has thoroughly enjoyed learning to swim with his instructor, Lexi, and looks forward to getting into the pool each week. Getting introduced to the swimming pool can be scary for some young kids, but Lexi has made it fun and inviting for him. We look forward to seeing him become more independent in the pool over time.

Positive experience: Nice tennis place but the lighting and ceiling are distracting and you can lose balls on lob shots.

Negative experience: Beth at Elite Sports Clubs is the epitome of unprofessionalism. Her lack of dedication and poor attitude make every interaction a nightmare. It's disappointing to see such incompetence in a place that should be focused on excellence.

Positive experience: Neglect. Many small repairs are needed.

Fantastic experience: I love every class that Amy teaches. She makes her classes fun. She uses different exercises so the class is always challenged and can make progress toward better fitness.

Negative experience: Entrance for summer camp for kids has trash for the 2nd day in a row, we’ve brought it up to elite, and to put trash cans out if there are none. The trash seems to keep accumulating and not getting cleaned up. This is our first time at elite for a summer camp, it’s not clean.

Positive experience: Overpriced but decent place

Positive experience: If you can afford a membership, this is a lovely health club. I like the salt water pools, class instructors, and towel service. I also appreciate that they have multiple rooms, people of all ages, and very clean facilities!

Negative experience: Staff are rude. Billing department makes errors and does not respond to email or calls. I was billed twice in one month and asked to speak with a manager concerning it. I was told the manager doesn't speak to members.

Positive experience: Excellent neighborhood Gym and and activity Club. Our family has a membership and my kids love going over there to work and hang out. My wife works out there all the time on the gym as well as in the pools. In the summer the outdoor pool is great to hang out in with the family. Reason for four versus five stars is the Outdoor hot tub has been under construction for a number of years it seems. They have an indoor lap pool as well as a very warm smaller pool so shouldn't complain too much. There's a number of other facilities as well as a member, one up in Mequon and one in Brookfield. The quad area has basketball hoops and a lot of play activities for the kids. Membership isn't cheap in my opinion but my family loves it so we keep it and sacrifice elsewhere.

Negative experience: I bought a membership here primarily to play basketball during the winter. The court has two main hoops on a close to regulation size court, and 4 additional hoops on the sides of this main court. Only 2 of those side hoops is at the normal 10ft tall, there are 2 of them around 8-8.5ft tall. They use this same space for volleyball, and they have open volleyball on Mondays. The net makes one of the main hoops inaccessible, but that's not the biggest deal because it's only on Monday... or so I was told. The past few weeks, they have kept the volleyball net up THE ENTIRE week, Monday-Sunday. So every single day there was only 3 regulation sized hoops to shoot on which mean these 3 hoops were always crowded. I go every week day at 430pm and have never seen the volleyball net being used. Yesterday, I asked a staff member when the new would come down, he said he would ask his boss to take it down for me. When he got back, he told me his boss said somebody wanted to use the net THE NEXT DAY so it had to stay up... ? It takes 20 minutes max to take that down and put it back up. It was 830am on a Saturday, and management wouldn't let them take the net down because somebody wanted to use it on Sunday. The young man who I asked was very friendly and apologized, the front desk worker is always very sweet and kind, but it is clear management is lazy and uncaring.

Fantastic experience: I was able to meet James who gave a great tour and familiarity with the location. He was able to answer any and all questions I had regarding the facility and the other locations for Elite Sports Clubs. He was so helpful with the experience and made me feel welcome to the facility.

Positive experience: It's a great place to work out indoors with ur children. Lots of equipments to choose from and a place for children to play

Positive experience: Very friendly ladies at the front desk. I love my trainer Joe/Joey he is a real down to earth guy and really motivational. The people that attend the gym are friendly as well. I just haven't received my key card to scan in yet.

Negative experience: I do enjoy the classes and it's a clean HUGE facility! I do not like having to COMPETE for a spot in a class that only holds 7. It used to hold 20. I get that Covid changed a lot of things.... But as I've seen in other reviews... The space is too big to not accommodate the loyal members that pay out of their *you know what*. I can get a treadmill and stairstepper anywhere else for $10/month. It's just conveniently located. I also don't understand why I can't add my elderly mother who now has t live w me and my sick sister and instead have to pay another membership fee for them. So we fight for classes and get to pay over $400/mo for no perks. They should do a promo to remind the members they're appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for 3 years. I have found it to be an excellent addition to my life. I love the yoga classes. I love the whirlpool and all the facilities. It is always clean and friendly. I recommend it very highly.

Positive experience: Very nice place, can be crowded, kids love the quad. Some of the lockers in the women's locker rooms need actual physical locks, like bring your own which is inconvenient. Warm pool is another very nice family activity

Fantastic experience: Good gym, family oriented. Everything is kept clean and the staff is friendly. They've done well improving the gym throughout the months. With COVID, they've done very well.

Negative experience: I would never sign up here again if I knew how awful of an experience elite clubs would be. We joined in the summer for the pools and at that time if you were working out you didn’t have to wear a mask. Now you have to wear a mask even though every station is 10 feet + away from each other. It makes no sense. Furthermore I paid $200 more for personal tennis lessons and I’ve been here for over 6months and NO ONE has reached out to me. I hate coming here. My children like the quad and playing basketball but I can’t wait until my membership is up so we can go back to the WAC.

Positive experience: What a beautiful sports club! I have brought my son as a guest twice now. The outdoor and indoor pools are awesome. The locker rooms are very clean and convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is rather expensive but it's worth it!

Positive experience: Nice club for tennis, group classes and indoor/outdoor pools. Weight area is extremely below average, to the point we have a family membership with Elite but I kept my WAC membership because the weight equipment is so bad.

Positive experience: The ladies at the front desk were so overwhelmed I felt bad for them! There should also be better seating near the kids areas for the parents.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with recent “corporate” decisions regarding their Zumba classes. There appears to be a complete lack of creative problem solving to accommodate 50-60 dedicated members. Hoping they come to their senses.

Positive experience: Space is nice with lots of activities, but I've been here a couple times now and the front desk women has always been rude to us. She is not friendly and does not smile. It is very unwelcoming.

Positive experience: Nice fitness and tennis club that I have been a member of for over 15 years. Being a tennis player, I liked it better when there were 11 courts. Now there are only 6 courts after they converted 5 courts for other activities.

Positive experience: This is my go-to Elite gym since it has the largest weight training area. I like it and continue to go, but...it's OLD. It is SO old. I don't think they've updated it since the '80s. Charging $90 a month is kind of a joke for what you get, it feels like an old men's club of yesteryear. Again, that Also being said, I like the place. It serves it's purpose. That's why I gave it 4 stars. *There is a rumor that they will be remodeling in late 2015 or early 2016. I was there at lunch today (April 15th, 2015) and people were taking measurements of all of the space. So it looks promising. If this place gets renovated it would be a 5/5.
