Fantastic experience: I started coming to Mesa Fit GJ about a year ago, and I’ve loved my experience so far. Versatile classes, welcoming & helpful staff, and the upgrades and improvements that have been done in a shorter amount of time is rad. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at Mesa Fitness! I recently encountered a billing issue that was mostly my fault, but the team went above and beyond to help me resolve it. Fantastic experience: Mesa fitness and I had some disagreements but they went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I would highly recommend checking out the new upgrades they have done. I have toured many gyms and this one is one of my favorites in town. It really is a beautiful facility. Feels newer and nicer than before.

Negative experience: I have been a member for 5 years and I loved everything about the gym . Unfortunately I am devastated because they terminated an amazing , caring, loving instructor without giving her a chance to prove they are wrong . Negative experience: I had been a member of Mesa fitness for a while before Covid and was hoping to return after a recent surgery. I went in with my 78 year old mother who can barely walk but wants to try and gain some strength back. I wanted to stand with her to make sure she didn’t fall off the machine she wanted to use. I walked in wearing a surgical boot and street cloths and was told I would have to pay $20.00 to be able to stay in the facility.Not working out..there for maybe 20 minutes. Nope not happening. If this is how our elderly and infirm are treated here I will take my business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Mesa fitness is a top notch fitness establishment! Honestly is my favorite gym out of all the ones I have been too. I have to give a special shout out to Makayla for her personal training. She is a wonderful and very informative trainer who listens to each persons individual needs. I would highly recommend checking out this gym to whoever wants to start their fitness journey or just someone looking for a new friendly place to workout.

Negative experience: Great gym, but lacks maintenance. Two of the four message chairs haven't worked right for a year. Was hopeful they'd fix it when they launched the new part of the building, but it's the same broken chairs. Staff have acknowledged they don't work right months ago. Other equipment have counters that don't work and stickers missing.

Positive experience: This Gym is ok. Friendly staff and good equipment. It gets crowded particularly the GJ location. And like many gyms you’ll be charged annual/ hidden fees several times a year. Not sure how gyms get away w. robbing their customers, but they do.

Positive experience: Edit: honestly over the last couple months I've noticed a LOT of improvement in terms of the cleanliness of the gym and that was my biggest issue. Locker rooms as well. Very solid gym.

Negative experience: I really like this gym but there are two issues I am hoping this review will address so I can give them 6 stars! One issue is quite inconvenient however the other is a big safety issue. The majority of the showers in the women’s locker room are extremely cold- too cold to actually shower- where it takes your breath away. I was told by another member that this has been like this for a long time and staff is aware. There is one or two showers that do heat up but the majority are not able to be used. The safety issue is the location of the backstroke flags in the pool area. Backstroke flags should be 15 feet from each wall to ensure not hitting your head on the wall by having enough time to flip. The flags are currently around 9 feet from the wall which is not enough time/space to be able to flip safely and it makes swimming in the pool anxiety provoking with their location not being close to where they should be. This could easily cause a head injury if not fixed. It appears this would not be difficult to do as they appear to just be taped to the wall. ****update- it has been 3 months and the flags have not been moved. The flags are for a purpose they aren’t just decoration. Please adjust the flags for proper aquatic safety. The showers also have not been fixed.

Negative experience: 40$ for the lowest membership and they still don’t have a guest pass. Do not join this gym the pricing is ridiculous.
Hi DJ, We believe our pricing reflects the value of our clubs, the amenities we offer, and the service we give. We do offer day passes for guests and also have non-contract memberships so if you find something that fits better for you, it's available to you with little or no hassle.
Negative experience: The place is nice but they make it impossible to cancel when you no longer need the subscription. The price is outrageous as well. Also I had to get a new card and forgot to switch this account over to the new card and they charged my triple the price for late feee on an account I hadn’t used in over a year. Absolutely ridiculous.

Negative experience: The only compliment I can give this gym is it has a lot of room for equipment. A lot of the equipment is overused and needs replaced, They cut their hours down when they used to be a 24 hour facility, so there is no time to work out there. The parking lot in the gym is always packed. If you’re planning on doing a work out, plan around standing around for 10-20 minutes because everything will be getting used. There are a lot of groups of kids that like to stand around and talk for 10 minutes and not work out, but take peoples equipment. They have great staff and great trainers, though. They need to go back to being a 24 hour facility if they are going to have that many members Be a part of that gym. Don’t wanna offend anybody, but not everyone is a college student, a stay at home mom, A high school student, Or someone with a really easy job and really easy hours. Some people work some 12-14 hour days and then want somewhere to lift at night And there aren’t very many options in Grand Junction, Colorado for gyms. Thank you for listening to my Karen Complaint

Negative experience: I moved away from Grand Junction, called to end my membership as has worked at other gyms when I've moved. They kept billing me, so I emailed to end my membership, which evidently they never did as I got a notice from debt collectors for $250. This place has shady cancellation practices.

Negative experience: The manager displayed unwarranted rudeness and condescension towards me. Despite being assured that payments for the tanning salon would be paused during construction at the Junction location, I discovered I'd been charged since September. Patiently waiting for the salon's reopening due to construction delays, I realized I'd been charged for six months without access to the service. I did not know that I could use the Clifton location, and was never informed of this option. Despite initial promises of a full refund, the manager, after some back and forth, only agreed to refund two months and cancel my membership. The interaction left me disappointed and feeling unjustly treated. This gym's apparent pattern of such behavior, as seen in other reviews, raises concerns about their customer service practices. I strongly advise against choosing this gym and hope they improve their treatment of paying customers in the future.

Positive experience: Warm easy( for exercise not necessarily training for racing lap swimming) pool. I went solely for use of the pool: This place is just right for quiet calm therapeutic purposes. Hot tub has great jets. Bring your own shampoo/ hair conditioner. A bene.if one must be in Grand Junction CO for any period of time. ReCOmended!!

Negative experience: It's a good gym but I don't understand why they decided to increase prices while cutting hours since 2020. Covid is over and sure maybe 24 hours isn't optimal but 8pm closing on weekends and not just daily closing at midnight is ridiculous, plus losing the racketball court and basketball court was terrible too. Some of us don't like hamsterwheel cardio
Negative experience: Be prepared to encounter this sign every time you come to the gym. If all you want to do is cardio, this is your gym. They have a large space for cardio machines and they are rarely used. If you want to lift weights or use the functional fitness area, find some place else. It is very difficult to find an open weight bench. All of the equipment I need to use for PT is stored in the frequently closed area. This morning there were all of three people using the closed off area and anyone who tried to enter was kicked out. I’m looking elsewhere.
Hi Anna, our class schedule for the space in the photo does close during classes for the respect of those active in those classes. However, this space is closed for no more than 3 hours per day, often less. Since your review, we've added an additional turf area behind our cardio area to allow for more stretching and functional training both during and outside of these classes. Fantastic experience: This place keeps getting better. Love the facility, trainers and staff. Depending on the time of day, the vibe and volume of people can change drastically, so gotta find the right time of the day (for you) to work out.

Positive experience: They were completely out of toilet paper in both men's stalls.
Negative experience: The lighting isn’t very good all the weights are old and terrible the locker room is worn out and smells like feet chlorine and cheese and you can smell the pool through out the whole gym and there’s an unnecessarily amount of naked old men trying to strike up conversations with you in the locker room and none of the weights are anywhere to be found they are scattered around it’s almost impossible to find a 35 pound plate here and the amount of trash people leave on the floor by the machines is nasty and to top it all off they got rid of all the basketball courts which was the only good thing about this gym nothing gets improved here
Fantastic experience: For the first time ever I hired a trainer. Max Austin. Can’t say enough good things, he was professional and friendly and knew just how hard to push me. Hard enough to know I worked muscles, but not enough to limp for days. Great facility too.

Negative experience: The Management and ownership are very rude and have no clue what customer service is. I don't care how nice the Gym is if you're paying A holes in the end. Don't waste your time. Definitely go somewhere, no anywhere else to work out.

Negative experience: this gym is a great gym. it’s too bad the girl at the front was very poor with customer service. she kept rolling her eyes and would glance over at her manager everytime in annoyance when i would explain my situation for answers.

Fantastic experience: Visited while traveling for work - AWESOME GYM! Tons of strength and cardio equipment - all in great condition. Took Body Pump with Brooke and HIGH with Alli - both great instructors with high energy.

Negative experience: Unfortunately Mesa Fitness has become overcrowded and many things are not in working order and fixes never seem to happen. List of things currently broken that I've noticed: steam room (for like 6 months?), pool, water fountain, many treadmills, etc. How can a gym charging a minimum of $30-40/month with thousands of members not be able to get these things fixed?
Negative experience: I have been going to this gym since I was a kid. My girlfriend is about to graduate college and I wanted her to come try Mesa fitness out for when she graduates. They would not give her the free 3 day pass since she was a CMU student and currently goes to the CMU gym. I want to work out with her when she graduates and I sadly don’t think it will be and this gym now.
Negative experience: Want to put me in a collection for a Christmas gift and they closed for Covid it shows it was canceled but still collecting money then placed me in collections and saying I don’t know what to do about it well I do you will be speaking to my lawyer
Fantastic experience: Was visiting from out of town. Staff friendly and helpful.Had tons of equipment for many different approaches to weight training. Everyone respectful of equipment and your space. Clean. Pool was nice (don’t want to train for Olympics there but can get something done if you need to). Excellent hours. Would go back again when visiting.
Negative experience: I usually have to try 6 or 7 treadmills before finding one that actually turns on and doesn’t slip or grind. There are about 4 out of about 20 that actually work. During my last visit, not a single one of the exercise bikes would turn on. In early December I filled out the Mesa fitness email survey indicating these problems and Michaela Sessum, Operations Manager responded to my survey assuring me that my feedback would be addressed. Unfortunately, nothing changed and nothing was addressed - the same treadmills that slipped or didn’t start up in September are still not working. Myself and my partner will be joining one of the smaller local gyms who maintain their equipment.

Negative experience: This gym needs to get the steam room fixed it's been like this for a long time it's not appealing when there is a black tarp around the area nor does it look good when you pay for a membership and they can't even keep up on the maintenance or work on preventive maintenance. Break out the crowbar and pry open the wallet to fix it.
Negative experience: They still charged me an annual fee after I had already put in my 30 days notice to cancel and then charged multiple late fees on top of that when I refused to pay the annual fee. I was only a member for a grand total of 60 days and they ended up sending a $180 bill to collections. It Isn't worth the base price let alone all the scandalous hidden fees and the hours of operation are ridiculous. Awful gym.

Hello David, your agreement on file does have a section regarding a 30-day cancellation clause, which states your final notice of cancellation will be followed by a final payment regardless of your use of the facilities. Per your cancellation request, this payment was collected and your membership was canceled.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym!! The staff members are always so welcoming and nice when you walk in! Brooke was also very clear about their policies, expectations, and procedures when I signed up which I highly appreciated! I kept seeing reviews saying they lie about their 30day cancellation policy but Brooke was very clear about that signature line, so I'm not sure what people are talking about. I've noticed the manager is usually at the front desk and seems to be so positive and ready to help, such a great vibe to walk into! I always see staff cleaning equipment and checking in with members while I'm there too. I really don't think there's a better gym in grand junction!
Fantastic experience: Amber was extremely helpful in getting me signed up with the right membership and explaining all of the different options. Mesa fitness offers so many wonderful classes with tons of space to lift weights etc. I especially love the massage chairs and sauna! Thank you!
Negative experience: If you try to cancel your membership, they want to to give a 30 day notice, this is alright, but the thing that isn't is they still want to charge you for another full month after the fact. I do not recommend doing business with Mesa Fitness.

They must do great managing the pool as I was not hit in the face with chemical smell when I walked in. Fantastic experience: Great place to exercise! People at the front desk are kind and attentive! Tons of machines to use and work on. The equipment is always clean, the pool is always clean too. My wife and I love the water aerobic classes. She is in a wheelchair so the pool is the best place for her to work out. Only thing is I wish they would reopen up their smoothie shop inside. Negative experience: Horrible customer service. They sent our accounts to collections due to their own mistake in billing. They Admitted the mistake, then failed to reinstate my husband's account after scrambling to pull us out from their collection company. The manager made up some "late fees" for the multiple charges on our account that caused our bank to call and ask why they were trying to pull out money SEVEN times. "Late Fees" would be impossible considering they already took the money out for the monthly membership fees as they had the past year, then continued to try to pull money off our account all while trying to blame us because it was declined. Well duh, our bank flagged them as potential scammers because of how many times they attempted to pull money out of our account within the month, AFTER receiving our normal membership fees. The manager admitted to being condescending with me, and the owner at that point decided to cancel our memberships They wanted nothing to do with us once they realized how bad they were screwing with our finances and credit based off their managers inability to perform basic customer service tasks. Would not recommend unless you like being judged and talked down to by management. The headache we went through was not worth the time we lost listening to them scramble to find excuse after excuse as to why they continued to double charge us. Then declined to see the Banks side that showed them attempting multiple withdrawals for fees that were made up. Avoid them. Plenty of local gyms that care about their customers and do not mess with your money, support them instead.
Fantastic experience: I have never had a problem or complaint with the staff or the facility.. they do a great job of keeping their equipment up to date and clean.. even on busy days I never seem to have an issue finding or using the equipment I prefer. Thanks and keep it up

Fantastic experience: Usually greeted with a smiling face upon check in. The exercise equipment is arranged in a way that makes it easy to navigate across the room. Members are usually courteous and wipe down the equipment after use. One time there was an issue with double payment being taken out of my acct and the staff was incredibly helpful resolving the issue. I was extremely satisfied with how it was handled.

Negative experience: I joined the club in July of 2017 and maintained my membership throughout the COVID shutdown. I came in to the gym on Feb. 2, 2020 and told the girl at the counter that I was moving out of state. She knew that I was a member because she addressed me by name when when I swiped my card. The monthly charges continued until I closed my bank account and left town. Their collection agency is now harassing me. They say I should have read the cancellation part of my membership contract more carefully. This is an unethical business that does not treat their clients fairly.
Negative experience: All they care about is your money. That sent out an email to all the members begin to not cancel their memberships because they were hurting during Covid and because they are small business. They are very unprofessional and greedy. The place is dirty, they don’t have enough equipment for the amount of money they charge they should have more equipment available so we don’t have to get in line to use a machine. Poor communication and very argumentative when you have a complaint. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!!
Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for the last 3 years. I love the atmosphere and how well maintained the gym is. I will always have good things to say about this place.

Negative experience: This gym is always crowded and it’s nearly impossible to find a good time to go where you can actually use the equipment that you want to. The owners are rude and not understanding. My card got lost a month at the beginning of the month and I have already accumulated 100 dollars in late fees from one month of not paying because I had to cancel my card. It took multiple Weeks just to get a replacement card, which in that time I accumulated and am forced to pay 100 dollars in late fees just because I didn’t have a new card to give to them. Don’t sign their contract unless you feel like giving away your right to your own money. Personally I would recommend planet fitness over this place and that’s saying a lot.

Fantastic experience: I have trained in Eifermens gym and then the first Golds in Las Vegas when I lived there. I have trained at Golds in San Diego. Mesa Fitness is as good a facility as I have been in. I have lifted for over forty years, ten of those I was power lifting. Mesa Fitness is a great place for everyone to train.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for many years. They have the necessary equipment required for any workout. You can't beat the monthly rate!!
Positive experience: Standard gym, but they really need to get adaptive equipment for those with disabilities.
Negative experience: How do you expect to bring business to your establishment when you continue to switch up your policies on existing members along with trying to rip people off that you should be trying to make members. I came in for a day pass they raised the rates to $15 dollars and I don’t even get to use my pass for the “day”?? Until people actually learn how do do business this place will never succeed complete rip-off monthly membership price plus a $49 fee to start it’s like all your trying to do is rip people off and will be the reason this place goes out of business once again
Positive experience: Would be better if it was easier to contact account staff.
Negative experience: Yesterday I called to talk to a manager to offer some feedback on why I will be discontinuing my membership after 2 years. She was not available. No voice mail. I talked to one of their dedicated employees (who works way too many hours) and asked him to pass along my feedback. I was professionally and politely listened to (I think?) and way-too-efficiently told how I could discontinue my membership. End of story. I could get into why I will be leaving, but 100 more will take my place, so it is not really worth my time to re-explain the gym's inequitable use of gym equipment and space!
Negative experience: Staff never has any clue about anything related to membership or accounts. Charges are randomly applied and rates change with no notice. Equipment constantly broken down. Floor in locker rooms is disgusting carpet which cannot be cleaned.
Negative experience: Don't use this gum if w youayou great work out. The management is rude.. I thought I was in America. Wrong. Don't support this place if you don't support wearing the muzzle. They are sheep
Negative experience: Avoid this gym at all cost. I called to cancel my membership and was charged months after cancellation. They made me pay a past due balance in order to cancel again . This gym is ran by theifs and liars. I recommend anywhere else but here

Hello Zac! We do not show record of a cancellation form signed for your account; therefore the account stayed open. As staff stated when you called, if you email us, we can get your account closed immediately! If you provide proof of your departure date for Basic Training we are happy to provide a full refund to that date!
Positive experience: Rashad gets the worst customer service award. Everyone else besides him is amazing.
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: Have been a member for 8 years. Now as Mesa Fitness, it is not open 24 hours a day. The pool is cleaned during business hours Friday afternoon 3:30pm. This should be done when the gym is closed. Lots of time for that now as they have cut hours of operation.

Fantastic experience: Barre is incredible with Maggie and Michaela. I love lost 25 lbs in 11 weeks thanks to them. They are amazing. It’s a great gym with awesome childcare also
Negative experience: Love the gym love the staff but I have been apart of lifetime fitness la fitness golds gym and planet fitness and I have never seen a dirtier gym in my life..the scale in the bathroom had a imprint of athletes foot dust..pool had chucks of chlorine that couldn't desolve because the levels where to high and you can literally smell the nasty when you walk in the door ...
