Fantastic experience: So I fell on the ice, wearing the wrong shoes. Pulled my knee and ankle back like Gumby. Was really hurt tried to figure out next steps. Remembered all the good experiences I had with my kids and UBMD with their orthopedic sprains and such. Got over there quick. Just a heads up Google maps shows the office is in the back of the building, it is not. It’s just to the left of the main entrance Suite 100. I was quickly seen. Everyone was very nice especially Katie and Barb. They were absolutely amazing to talk with while I waited to be seen. They both deserve a raise! UBMB is the reason my daughter walks and runs without any issues. Trust them.

Negative experience: One of the most rudest, unempathetic, non helpful dr. Office I've ever been to. It was so bad that I was actually looking in my phone for a new orthopedic whilst walking to my car. Stay away!

Negative experience: This morning I tried to cancel my Wife’s ortho appointment and had to call back four times because the extension I was being transferred to was invalid. There fourth time I called back, I explained to the same woman that the extension wasn’t working and all she could offer me was “Well I don’t know why that extension is doing that.. it’s not invalid” and then proceeded to tell me that I would just have to call back when she wanted to reschedule. The appointment is this morning.. my Wife has a death in the family and she says “Oh just call back later, they’ll just put it as a no show”. Not right.. I don’t understand what’s so hard about getting the right extension. So now, my wife probably won’t be able to reschedule and will get a no show fee!

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient since 2018 because of multiple issues I have in my fingers, hands, and elbows, I see Dr. Jones. He and his staff are amazing. There's no run around about trying therapies that don't work. They are always honest about the possible outcomes of each surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Jones not only for his medical expertise but also for his bedside manners. Unlike the stereotypical surgeon he is down to earth and comes off as just a normal guy, the same goes for his P.A., Frank. They are also very good with their scheduling so you're not left waiting around for your appointment.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Phillips did my left hip replacement 5 years ago ..and I just had my right hip replacement done in June. Another success....Dr. Phillips is the best ...overall good experience...no complaints...

Negative experience: Big corporate PT place with lack of experience everywhere. Students who never played a sport and don’t care should not be treating athletes. Thanks to them I had to have cleanup surgery 6 months later after ACL reconstruction.

Negative experience: DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE…read the below and decide for yourself. Far too many egregious errors. As a child I had a cartilaginous tumor in my ankle and the doctors at UBMD did a great job with the surgery. As an adult when I tore my acl and meniscus, I went back to them. My experience was horrible. Dr. Leslie Bisson, the Bills Dr at the time, couldn’t have been more careless. After filling out medical forms weeks in advance of the surgery and explaining I have a fainting disorder in our initial appointments and being shocked when he said I don’t need blood work, I was then horrified to find out the day of the scheduled surgery they had looked at my responses to these forms for the first time and now agreed I needed blood work. This reset the surgery and rehab timeline by about 3 weeks making me miss my friends wedding I was the best man in. On the day of the surgery, Bisson went over with me that he would be doing the ACL reconstruction as well as the meniscus repair (makes sense). However when I woke up he told me he decided not to repair the meniscus as he thinks despite the test it still had integrity. I have since had numerous meniscus and endless knee issues. Also upon waking up at the surgery center, my legs were hanging completely off the hospital bed. I woke up screaming in pain asking for a nurse, ya know because immediately after knee surgery my knee is doing work holding itself up. A nurse runs over and says “oh my god how tall are you” and I say 6 foot and she say the bed was set for a 5 foot tall person. These are their medical professionals. Moments later, I begin to feel sick from the anesthetic most likely and request someone bring the trash bin over to me. The nurse said “if you’re going to throw up you need to go outside.” Again maybe 5 minutes after waking up from surgery. She refuses to bring anything over and I throw up on myself. As a response to this they put me in a wheelchair and wheel me to the curb to get sick in the grass so I “don’t make more work for them.” Less than a week later my foot has turned completely purple. My physical therapist becomes very concerned it’s a blood clot. I call UBMD and of course they pass this question off to a P.A. who tells me she thinks that’s normal draining but if I’m concerned to come into the office. I do. Again I get a P.A. who has a college student alongside her (learning from arguably the worst example) and I explain why the physical therapist (not UBMDs therapists) believes it to be a clot and why I agree. She dismisses it all and says the knee looks good too. The next day while at physical therapy I faint and go to the hospital where they discover I have two blood clots - initial one in my purple foot and one that broke off and was heading towards my heart and I could have died in a few days following UBMDs advice that it’s nothing. I go back. Bisson looks scared and I lay into him. He legally can’t apologize but says in other words he agrees it’s wrong and will address the PA. For reference, to see if you have a blood clot is neither invasive nor expensive so for this PA to at the very least not send me to have imaging done was completely irresponsible. It is now years later and my knee has never worked the same as before and has never come close to feeling normal. It aches, it’s numb, it fatigues rapidly. I used to run ~7 miles per day and now can’t surpass a mile without acute pain. I saw a different orthopedic who said that most likely I need meniscus surgery, the procedure Dr. Bisson told me he would do in my knee during the ACL reconstruction.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go whenever you need orthopedic help. No one plans for injury but if it happens this is a good place to visit so you can start fixing what ails you. I did some research for my wife's shoulder injury and subsequent problems with her shoulder replacement hardware and came to the conclusion that UBMD had the expertise she needed.

Fantastic experience: Gave up on another ortho provider since the 2-3 hour wait times just to see anyone were not acceptable. Went to UBMD and got all tests run, saw the surgeon, and had surgery scheduled in 90 minutes. Surgery went excellent.
Negative experience: I recently had ACL reconstruction (through UBMD) and thought it would be the best course of action to stay within the network and complete the physical therapy there. I attended 10 PT sessions before I decided to look elsewhere. All of the staff members were very friendly, but I was often times left alone. I'd finish an activity and wasn't sure what to do next, so I would do extra sets. What would have been an hour session often took closer to two hours. My last session before I decided to leave, I was on my own for almost 45 minutes. I really don't know how I'm progressing (my extension or flexion hasn't been measured in almost three weeks). My surgeon is telling me conflicting information from my therapist and an assistant is telling me something completely different from both my surgeon and therapist. I'm also not told what I should be doing at home. Like I said, everyone there is super nice, but I just don't feel confident in my progress. I'm starting at a new physical therapy center tomorrow.
Negative experience: They don't want to be bothered with new patients very rude after being on hold for a 1/2hr I injured my back at work and then 10 minutes into the conversation they tell me they can't see me because I told him I was in a car accident over 10 years ago and had neck surgery what does that have to do with me injuring my back at work
Fantastic experience: While it took a little longer than expected, the level of care given, here was quite frankly, amazing. Their kindness and care shined. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, they had to squeeze us into a specific time which definitely led to some delays, but in the end, each of the four parts of the organization that helped my wife, treated her with kindness and respect. And made her feel comfortable with the experience.
Fantastic experience: Wow! I have an Achilles injury, and EVERY single person I have interacted with over the past 10 days has been phenomenal. I have never seen such a large medical practice with consistently wonderful customer service, attention, and care. Dr. Gurske is amazing! So thorough and takes the time to have a real discussion about the care plan. I am so, so happy with my care so far.

Positive experience: Getting there by bus is a bit of a drag as you have to take quite a walk. It's also quite easy to get lost there with the numerous hallways. Wi-Fi is slow and restrictive and because of the way the building is structured, your Hotspot/Phone Signal is also greatly affected. Besides those, they are very helpful and the doctors and staff provide clear and detailed explanations of what is happening and what treatments you are given and what you can do on your own end.

Negative experience: Do not go here!! The place is huge but difficult to locate, no signs or directions given. It gets worse. Be prepared to exhaust yourself by walking l-o-n-g halls that should have moving walkways like the airport. Everyone receiving treatments for back, neck injuries, on oxygen or needing physical help will surround you all wondering why this building was designed so poorly. I’m sure the engineers were proud of their color choices, furniture and technical additions; however the cellphone reception is also a big problem. They gave no thought to the needs of the patients that were to be served here. I will never return to this location and I assure you I’m not alone. PS Dr Kowalski is all about surgery and delights in nothing else. Don’t waste his time unless you’re wanting surgery, he makes that clear. I do not knock any other doctor with UBMD Orthopedics. He left me cold & discouraged- on to the next one~
Fantastic experience: I love coming to see Dr. Rachala. He is the best surgeon ever! The staff is always courteous and so pleasant to deal with. I drive over 1 hour to see them and have considered moving to buffalo just because of this clinic! Amazing staff and very talented surgeons. ❤️❤️. Positive experience: They have good doctor's for knees/shoulders but I had a terrible doctor for my spine/back!! I was hurt at work and this doctor didn't give me any kind of testing for my whole back until after 2 months of excruciating pain in physical therapy! Now I am switching doctor's!
Fantastic experience: Had an MRI with dye injection. Everything was well organized and went smoothly. Injection took a couple of minutes, and the MRI department was ready when I got there. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Dr Jeremy Doak did an excellent job in fixing up my left shoulder after a recent skiing accident in March which left my clavicle broken in about four pieces and also during the trauma punctured my lung. His PA Emily is also very good! She is great at her job and takes the time to listen and then time to explain what the next steps are! My experience so far has been great! This is my first rodeo with a broken bone so it's great to have that support system as my body heals!

Fantastic experience: I had surgery with Dr. Wind for compartment syndrome in several muscle compartments and he was absolutely fantastic! I came in with a list of questions and he answered every one of them. Plus, my scars are barely visible! I've gone back for follow-ups on the other compartments and when it comes time for surgery on them I will definitely be going with Dr. Wind!

Negative experience: If you have a high deductible plan don’t go to this place, worst billing system ever. You can pay a “co-pay” even though you are not supposed to pay anything until you get your EOB, but they never credit the money you pay on the DOS you were in for on that date which screws everything up! You get your EOB for the DOS and then you get your bill from them and it doesn’t show the payment you made on the DOS. They credit your money where ever they feel like it. That doesn’t work for a high deductible plan when you are trying to put together EOB’s, receipts and the bill together in case you ever get audited it never works! First visit ever at this place I paid a co-pay for a DOS in 2020 and they credited it for some DOS in 2021 then expected me to pay in full on the 2020 DOS even though I already paid $40.00.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Brian McGrath did a knee replacement in Feb 2022 for me. NEVER had any issues or set backs with him or the staff there. Would highly recommend him.

Negative experience: Wheelchair accessible, huge parking lot, parking lot was packed when I went. I went to see Hanger Prosthetics, they basically did me the same way they did when I was in Florida!! After providing all of my insurance info and initial appointment, never heard from them again regarding f/u appointment and making a new socket for me, (after VA screwed up the one I have now!!)! Definitely would NOT recommend!!
Negative experience: Be aware that scheduling operator may hang up on you if you’re asking questions end they don’t have answers. I’m pointing to young female operator who just did it to me.
Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about the staff that works here. I was seen on every floor of this building today and everyone I encountered was absolutely wonderful. I entered thru the wrong area, and with a badly injured ankle - alone - I broke down in front of the poor front desk woman! She was so kind and helpful, she got me a wheelchair and took me to the third floor where I needed to be. The X-ray technicians, medical supply fitters, nurses; I could not be more thankful for their kindness today. Faith in humanity has been restored.

Fantastic experience: Had my first complete shoulder replacement by Dr. Daquian. He and his staff were amazing start to finish. Never had a doctor of any kind with that much follow-up anywhere. Congratulations to him and his staff Hanna and Kelly. Will be back for the second one for sure.

Fantastic experience: Been going there since I moved here never had any problems everyone very professional and friendly can't say enough about them I am so happy to be there patient.
Positive experience: I personally did not have a good experience with UB Ortho. I had severe ankle pain and instability, and after months I finally had surgery. However, it started hurting again so I went back, they did an MRI (after I requested it) and told me everything looked fine and sent me back to PT again. I went for a second opinion and the new doctor found a tear in my tendon right away. At UB Ortho my doctor kept telling me that it was “just something I was going to have to live with” and I’m 19.
Fantastic experience: These people do an incredible job getting your functionality restored. I've had both shoulders repaired and currently under care for tennis elbow. Dr. Finnberg's staff is the best!

Negative experience: Staff is very RUDE!!! Find somewhere else to go, they have no empathy, and are very incompetent. Front desk person Barb was nasty, and racist.
Fantastic experience: Love this place has everything you need to get healthy again , from p.t to x-ray, to MRI , the Doctors are top notch, and the staff is caring . I used this place in the past for a work related injury, and they are very good at what you are there for.

Fantastic experience: Went to their urgent care for help. The receptionist was lovely and extremely kind. They told me it was a 2 hour wait, got in in 1 hour. They took a bunch of x rays and were really helpful. They set me up with a diagnosis, referral to a surgeon, mri, and were just really supportive. The last ortho I made an appointment and went to was not nearly as helpful. They just said to call back when I was in pain despite waiting a month for the appointment. Negative experience: The only good thing I can say about this place is the imaging department, the receptionists, and the doctors staff. My husband had his foot reconstructed a few years ago, and with deductibles being high, every week he went back and they had to see him and X-ray. When he refused, because he gets one every week, they refused to see him. So no follow up after the surgery until they get All of your money. I have been going for 3 years. I need bilateral knee replacements but the doctor kept trying injection over and over again. Finally when I was balling my eyes out in front of him because of the pain ( mind you I have never seen the doctor, only PA’s prior) he said what the hell do you want me to do. He left the room and handed me the surgeons from his practice. He said they may or may not do it and if they don’t I’ll scope around. Went to one of the best knee surgeons in WNY and the first Thing he said after looking at my films was which knee are we gonna do first no injections no therapy he knew from my record I’ve been through hell. What a great doctor. I do not recommend ubmd in the Orthopedics to anyone. Oh btw. After this was posted, Dr. Fineburg had his secretary and asked me to remove the review.

Positive experience: I went to here and the doctor I saw acted like he didn't care about my problem and I left with no answers
Negative experience: Horrible communication with patients. Never received a call back from the Orthocare department for appointment scheduling, MRI results, or prognosis. Super disappointing as they were great with scheduling the initial visit, but after did not respond to any communications via phone or patient portal after.
Negative experience: Billing is awful, they have no idea how insurance works! They let my son be seen by one of the PT's without getting an auth # after he gave them a referral. Then I receive a bill for co payments, one bill has Feb and May on it, the next bill has March and May on it, the next bill has Feb and Jan on it. All saying that the copayment was never paid. When you call, you get someone that tells you "oh, I know the bill is for a Feb visit, but that co payment was applied to a visit in Jan." WHAT!!!! So, now I am stuck paying for I don't know what because there is no way to tell what and where my co payments are being applied. It is months of appointments and statements to go through. I have wasted enough time going over these statements for something that was their fault to begin with. They take no responsibility for their incompetence. Save yourself a headache and go someplace else!
Negative experience: Awful experience. Severe hip pain and was given an appointment 9 weeks out. I have necrosis in 2 areas and stress fractures I’m told. My primary asked for a sooner appointment and I was handed off to urgent care and no one there could read my MRI. Fail. Another prominent orthopedic practice got me an appointment 6 weeks sooner.
Fantastic experience: Unfortunately my husband has had to have more surgery, but the team there is awesome. They have taken great care of him and have kept both of us informed of what is going to happen and what to expect going forward. Highly recommend them should you require any type of orthopaedics care.

Negative experience: I couldn’t even make an appt here after a bunch of calling around, getting transferred & having a referral from the ER to go there. I will be finding an ortho follow up elsewhere. If they tell you that you need to figure out the ER dr on call for ortho and call the hospital, they actually have the schedule of the on call dr themselves
Negative experience: Terrible clinic with appallingly unprofessional, uneducated, rude and irresponsible staff. Only several months I spent making an appointment for a consultation because the staff was incompetent throughout this time. After I signed up for a consultation, went through it, and paid the bill that was billed to me, they sent me an additional invoice for payment. Although no extras were provided to me. The same happened with the price of my surgery. They were increasing the price every 2 weeks. They couldn't explain the reasons for it adequately. It reached the absurd point when I received a pepper copy of the invoice for the surgery by regular mail service, with the particular amount for paying, with their back address on the envelope, with all surgeries codes which related to me, and my name with my address on it, they said, quote "We don't know what the letter do you have. We didn't send it to you." For a very long time after the consultation, the clinic could not prescribe the surgical operation discussed during the consultation. During the entire time of communication with the clinic, no one has ever contacted me in any way to explain the procedure, procedure, and requirements. I was forced to constantly call, ask and run. Considering that I pay for my surgery myself and not an insurance company, I do not understand this attitude. A week before the surgery, they cancelled everything, saying, quote, "We DON'T LIKE to work with patients LIKE you." No one will ever be able to say that I was not polite, not tolerant and did not show respect to them all time. Unfortunately, uneducated, ill-mannered and unprofessional workers make many mistakes in their work and never admit it. They prefer to blame everyone around them except themselves, without even having a reason for this. I can back up my every word, which the clinic can't. As a result, wasted a year, money and effort. I sincerely hope that no one else will face similar circumstances. Try to avoid this clinic.
Positive experience: The building is outdated and cramped but the staff definitely are awesome. 5 star would have been not having an hour and 30 min wait for a 15 min visit.

Negative experience: There today, i fell and. Severly tore one ankle and knees. Most were great but not all. I was denied a boot so i could walk and of course no pain pills. Seeing a. Dr tomorrow had to use a wheelchair to get to my ride. Never again. I can't walk. Very disappointed

Negative experience: Went here once before and they were great. Today my wife needed an urgent appointment. We called at 2pm on a Saturday. Hours on Google and the official website state they are open until 4pm on Saturdays. The phone just kept ringing we waited about 6 minutes of ringing. Decided to make the drive to go there in person, got there at 2:30 just in case phones were not staffed for some reason, but not a car was in sight, locked doors, and no sign that they were closed for any reason. Tried calling again when we were outside the door but again no answer. Ended up going to the ER instead as there aren't really any other options that we could find for a Saturday. A recording saying they were closed early would have been nice, even though it's my bad for traveling with the chance of getting in without an appointment.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Doctor Rachala he’s great. I had my knee replacement surgery he did a great job and used a robot to assist with surgery. Faster healing it’s been four months and I’m playing golf no problems.

Fantastic experience: We went to UB Ortho for an emergency appointment. My son was examined by Frank Domnisch PA who was wonderful. He listened, examined and provided a thorough explanation of my sons injury. We left with an amazing experience and the front desk staff was wonderful as well. They were kind, caring and compassionate. These qualities are hard to find in dr offices these days. I highly recommend this office!

Negative experience: TURNED away at my appt due to missing mri disc despite doctor having X-ray imaging and mri report. There is certainly value in the doctor examining the injury in person. Begged to be seen because part of my hand is numb. HORRIBLE customer service. Will not return.

Negative experience: i was supposed to have a tuesday and they were supposed to tell me when to show up the day before. didn't hear from them and i called them on tuesday the day of the procedure and they told me that because my phone just went into voicemail they couldn't get in touch with me. the representative at bbo orthopedics had a real attitude and said well you didn't want to show up anyhow. the doctor himself was was okay and i just wanted to get this behind me but the front end of ubr cepedics leaves a lot to be desired. i tried to call you be orthopedics on monday when i didn't hear from them and there was no way to leave a message for the office
Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. My fiancé called to make an apt for his swollen ankle. The receptionist kept giving him a hard time to make an apt saying he would need to file for workers comp since he was on his feet all day the day before at work, although no incident occurred at work to even file for workers comp. He spoke to 4 ppl all deterring him from making an apt. The last receptionist he spoke with named Jen was rude and condescending so he hung up and called another place who made a same day apt and did not give him a hard time at all. Sad they deter patients from going there so they don’t have to work. If the doctors there knew they were doing this, I don’t think they would be happy since they’re loosing money because of their workers. Please think twice before going here. There are better and more professional places that actually care about patients.

Positive experience: The staff is pleasant and they really do a great job arranging various outpatient appointments before surgery. Post surgical appointment not so well informed. Wait times not too bad if you go early.

Fantastic experience: Excellent doctor. Dr c Hamill. Made me so comfortable. Before surgery. Made the "scary part ". Of any type back surgery go away. Hope I never need further back surgery but if I do Dr Hamill is the professional for me...along with his careing staff of professionals. The surgery was two years ago and I thank him everyday.

Positive experience: I had a long wait in the waiting room. Also a long wait for X-ray. Total, I was there about 3 hours. Also, after having total knee replacement, I feel that they need to stress the physical and mental aspects after the surgery. It was more mental challenging than I expected and the pain was horrendous. I will never have my other knee done. Coming off the pain pills was also a bad experience.
Fantastic experience: My treatment at UBMD Orthopedics for a bad right knee has been excellent. Dr. Nodzo and his staff are very attentive, caring and efficient. Their treatment has kept me active and capable of doing the things I like to do..

Fantastic experience: Second time needing ortho care, first time urgently. Called in the morning and got in for a visit that afternoon for imaging and a consult. While more of a peace of mind thing, basic after care and a follow up was all that was required, but the care has always been on point. My follow up with Dr. Freitas was frank and to the point. Previous care which was a few years ago and more involved with Dr. Fineberg was solid and has not left me disappointed. The staff and care process is efficient for what that means these days, and the pre-visit and continuing care surveys help reduce wasted time in-office.

Fantastic experience: The staff was very nice and patient with me I just had shoulder surgery and Dr. Bisson and his P.A. were awesome. Everything was explained to me and my wife to our satisfaction and we were very comfortable with the whole operation. I’m really glad that we decided to go to UB Ortho and Sports Med. Fantastic experience: I recommend the drs at UBMD. After several tries with various drs to find the cause of my problem, the dr at UBMD figured it out in one visit. The PA I had subsequently was very good and explained things thoroughly. My only complaint is with the scheduling dept. It took me 2.5 weeks to finally talk to someone. Calls to the office were not returned. Not OK. If there is a problem with scheduling than call me and talk to me.
