Fantastic experience: Dr. Aryaie is amazing! I hadn’t been able to swallow food from Christmas 2024 to May of this year. Turns out I have something called achalasia. Dr. Aryaie performed a POEM surgery on me to fix it, and now I’m just over 2 weeks post op and can eat without trouble! Dr. Aryaie was super nice and very helpful! Answered all of my questions and made his medical explanations super easy to understand! The front office staff was amazing too! Easy to get a hold of and very helpful with my questions on what next steps I needed to take getting ready for the surgery and with all the insurance stuff!

Fantastic experience: I had my revision surgery on 4/30/25 with Dr Aryaie due to complications with severe GERD, I am 8days post op and feeling amazing. I can say with this surgery I have not experienced any pain to the point that I need medication and happy to say that I am down 30lbs since my last visit. Fantastic experience: So many people know what to do to lose weight but they just can’t seem to be consistent enough to do it. As a registered dietitian and former distance runner, I never thought I would consider bariatric surgery. Once I reached my 40’s, life became so busy with responsibilities. I had less time for myself and the weight started to pile on. I struggled with binge eating. I was depressed, defeated and ashamed to be a dietitian who was overweight. Dr Aryaie, Sahar, Clarissa, Nicole, and everyone at BMI surgical saved me from my downward spiral. They were kind, understanding, compassionate, and helpful in every way. Dr Aryaie performed gastric sleeve surgery on me and I’m now losing the excess weight. I could not be happier. Sometimes willpower to diet and exercise isn’t enough and you need an effective tool. Fantastic experience: I had upper chest pain for many months. It would get so bad that I would get nauseous in a car. At first, I thought it was heart problems but after being cleared by a cardiologist I went to BMI Surgical. They performed tests and immediately diagnosed me with a hiatal hernia. Within a month. I was scheduled for and had surgery to correct it. The procedure was very professional and resolved my problem. Dr Aryaie was very knowledgeable throughout the entire process and took time to explain every step of the way. Would definitely recommend for anything related to the GI tract in the future.

While in Atlanta working I had to have emergency surgery and Dr. Aryaie got me together, he was very attentive before and after surgery. Fantastic experience: Spend time speaking with both doctors and made a couple changes in the middle which they adjusted to without any issue which I was grateful for. Surgery itself seems top notch and healing is ahead of pace which only happens if they do an excellent job. I had a laparoscopic sleeved gastrectomy. Dr jacobo was very flexible to see me, very knowledgeable and did not mind me asking questions. Dr Ariyea is a talented and sweet man who did a great job at the surgery and I would recommend him to anyone without a problem. One notable potentially serious issue was that, while at the hospital in Northside, I didn't receive any medications. They told me not to bring any so I went a few days without blood pressure medicine, diabetic meds, etc. That could have been serious problems if I were in worse state for longer than I have been... Hospital says they didn't get med list and doctor's office says they did. Oh well, things turned out fine and I'm happy with the overall results so far. I am 5 weeks post-op and already losing a lot of weight and VERY happy with the overall results!

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed and appalled by the lack of adequate care provided to my family member following their gastric sleeve surgery. They have been suffering from unrelenting pain for months, requiring repeated hospital visits. Despite this, the only ‘solution’ offered has been heavy morphine use, which has led to some dependency. This failure to address the root cause has driven my family member to the brink of despair, culminating in a recent suicide attempt. The lack of urgency and refusal to consider alternative interventions, such as a bypass, is unacceptable. How can it be justified to leave a patient and their family to suffer this way? Is profit truly being placed above a human life? The inaction is unconscionable. My family deserves answers and a real plan to resolve this situation. If further harm comes to my family member because of this neglect, it will be on the conscience of those who had the power to intervene but chose not to. We need solutions immediately.

Fantastic experience: My gastric sleeve with lapband removal was performed 12/27/2024 by Dr Aryaie and his team. It was a complete sucess. I stayed one night in the hospital. I was briefly in pain for the first few days but the pains meds greatly helped me. I have lost over 25lbs in less than 2 weeks. I would recommend BMI over and over again.

Fantastic experience: Dr Aria is not only at expert at his technical skills but also with his bedside manner skills. He is able to explain the complex surgery to a layman in a way that is understandable. I would do this surgery all over again if I needed to or recommend him to anyone. Everyone from the front office to the back office has been stellar to work with. The minute my husband met the doctor he had no further worries and Dr Aria set the tone of confidence, expertise and calmness you want in a surgeon. Fantastic experience: Went through the process and finally surgery for a Linx device implant and hiatal hernia repair. Everything went great and I’m symptom free 3 weeks out, minus the normal temporary side effects of the device implant area healing. Dr Aryaie had a very kind and professional disposition. His staff was great - and I’m not the best communicator in the sense that I can be direct with my thoughts and opinions: yet they were very patient with me when I did have concerns (all resolved and nothing worth mentioning in a review since it was specific to me). They worked with Northside hospital for my procedures, and I had a great experience with them too. And best of all - NO REFLUX/GERD THUS FAR AND NO PPI’s!! The downsides for me? Location in Roswell is far for me as I’m in canton, but may be prime location for you. And follow ups I was anble to do via video call so very convenient in comparison. Also, I do wish there was an accessible patient portal online to read your chart. Not that I’d understand much of it, but I like to look. All in all I’m comfortable giving Dr Aryaie and his team with BMI surgical institute 5 stars.

I’ve had significant weight loss since my surgery in October and can’t wait to be in better shape next summer for Dragoncon and the renfest.

Fantastic experience: Currently, I am almost two weeks post-op with the LINX device, laparoscopically implanted by Dr. Aryaie. The procedure addressed my severe GERD, so I no longer suffer from acid reflux. I am off all antiacid meds (I used to take 3 different ones pre-op). Dr. Aryaie has excellent bedside manner. On my initial consult, he was very patient as he answered my long list of questions about the procedure. I still have several more months of recovery, but so far, I feel great, and I am very happy with the results as I am able to enjoy all foods again without issue. I had double hernia surgery with Dr. Aryaie earlier this month and from initial visit to post op check up every step exceeded expectations. Fantastic experience: Before BMI Surgical Institute, I'd spent nearly a year bouncing between different doctors and hospitals looking for answers. I was fatigued, had endless bouts of heartburn, and could barely eat a meal without regurgitating. My throat appeared to be closing at an alarming rate, and within months I could barely drink liquids without choking. I stopped leaving the house because social outings involving food or drinks was an impossibility. So after that year of doctor's visits -- being told time and again it was simply acid reflux -- I was convinced the chronic pain and fear of simply eating was going to define my daily life moving forward. Fantastic experience: Dr Jacobs and de Aryaie helped me with my revision surgery. The lap band had been in place for 17 years and was working great until a couple years back. I started having stomache pains that were unexplained by CT scans or MRI'S. They removed my lapband device and removed the scar tissue associated with the lap band and replaced it with the sleeve. I feel 100% normal and pain free. Their solution to my problem was perfect. They are very kind and always presented with the upmost in professionalism (if that's really a word).

Fantastic experience: I had the Nissen Fundoplication procedure performed on me by Dr. Aryaie. I had very little discomfort when I came out of sergury. I now have zero reflux and I'm feeling very good. Dr. Aryaie is the best in this procedure and would recommend him to anybody in need of digestive help.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE This is an 8 month follow up from a past review. This one will be a bit shorter than the last. Since my surgery in March I have gone from throwing up 40-50 times a week to just a few. The nausea is much improved as well and I can do much more. More importantly I have been able to go from 132# up to 155-160#. Dr. Aryaie literally saved my life. You won’t find an office that has a staff any better than BMI. They do make you feel like family. In closing Dr. Aryaie, I just want to say Thank You again for literally saving my life.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Aryaie and his staff are amazing! I had a consultation previously with a different doctor that was referred to me by a friend and was extremely dissatisfied. I started doing some research on my own and came across BMI. For starters, they actually answer the phone! Several other places that I called expected me to wait 24 hours for a return phone call or never even called back. When you are scheduling this type of surgery you want to make sure that you have someone who is going to be responsive in case you need them. Luckily my surgery went very well. Their office is responsive and checks on you every step of the way. You can tell that Dr. Aryaie really cares about his patients and treats them with compassion. Additionally, the nursing staff there is amazing as well. When I came for my follow up they made sure that I had everything that I needed and took very good care of me. Dr. A is so good at what he does! I can barely tell that I have any incisions! There was minimal bruising and pain after surgery. I would recommend them to my family and friends!

Fantastic experience: Thank you Dr Aryaie. My voice had become hoarse for over a year and didn’t know why. Seeking different doctors opinions led me to you and the realization I had silent reflux affecting my voice box; a problematic hiatal hernia, flap to stomach not working and Short Barrett’s Esophagus. You suggested we address all issues through a surgical procedure referred to as Nissen Fundoplication. With history of esophageal cancer in my family coupled with the Short Barrett’s, I made the decision to move forward. That surgery was 2 weeks ago and I’m doing really good. Dr Aryaie used robotics to perform the surgery and recovery has been uneventful. I went home the day after surgery. Now I’m looking forward to my 9 month Endoscopy when we can visually see that the procedure resolved the Barrett’s, hiatal hernia, & flap to stomach and my acid reflux. My experience with BMI has been exceptional. The staff, assistants and Dr Aryaie have all been compassionate, prompt, and good at their jobs. They have been a pleasure to work with. Thank you BMI.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Aryaie and his whole staff are amazing! I had an ESG bariatric surgery two and a half weeks ago. I live 4 hours away. I chose BMI Surgical Institute because of a friend who had her surgery there. Everyone made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Aryaie is so personable but professional as well. I have already lost 20 lbs. and the whole experience has made me so happy. I referred a friend and she is willing to drive from Charlotte because of my great experience.

Fantastic experience: I had horrible acid reflux years after an initial sleeve. After seeing several doctors Dr. A was the one to help me with a hiatal repair. While inside, he noticed issues with the initial sleeve and redid it after approval from my wife. 2 weeks out, and I couldn't be happier!

Fantastic experience: If anyone is looking for a bariatric surgeon who is thorough, intelligent, very kind and has a great personality. I would Recommend without know hesitation Dr. Aryaie. Since the day I walked into his office, it has been nothing but a smooth process thanks to his amazingly friendly hard working staff. I had my surgery on November 4th and have not had one prob since. When I was asked in the hospital by the nurses, who my surgeon was? I said Dr. Aryaie, they immediately said how wonderful he is, he comes up to the hospital to check on his patients and he calls throughout the night to make sure everyone is ok. I am so happy with my decision. If you are reading this review, I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

I have a rare disorder called achalasia and they described in detail what it was and with surgery it has been corrected. After POEM procedure she has done excellent. A little sore throat but nothing more. We cannot thank them enough for their knowledge and kindness.

Negative experience: I am 14 months out, no responses to email, no consistent follow up, I've been telling this office since 2 months post op that my weight loss has stopped, the hunger hormone is back despite sticking to the plan and following all instruction to a T. I keep being told "Well get back to you" but no one does. They have a high staff turn over and if they would stop making tiktoks for 5 mins to return a call or email maybe I could get a solution. Ive told them multiple times what my schedule is, i dont get a return call back, never got a nutritionist after my surgery nor before. I was a cash paying client and even the nurturist I found was blown away by their lack of follow up on my case. Last time I spoke to yet another front desk person I was told "Dr Arya doesnt have the time to get back with you i can have a nurse or office assistant call you" and they never did. What doctor doesnt have time to talk to a patient they performed surgery on I lost 40 lbs and it stopped not even remotely close to the goal he set for me. I believed the surgery failed and they dont seem to care. They medically gaslight and shift the blame. Ive contacted Beltline Baractic to get info about revision because this office REFUSES to follow up. I am so disappointed in this process and was really hoping for the best. The secretary I talked to 2 months ago and said shed call me back even got sassy mouthed with me when I explained I was under the impression that my overall cost of the surgery covered my follow ups yet Ive been charged $30 for 2 follow ups ( I HAD TO BEG FOR) and she responded with "well its normal to have to pay co pays!" I am not an idiot, Im aware of that but thats not what is in the agreements. I try to refrain from writing bad reviews but Ive had it.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ayraie and his team are amazing. They listen to your concerns and answers all your questions. I went in for a gastric sleeve 2 weeks ago and my recovery was easy. He has changed my life for the better and I can’t thank him enough. Very attentive. Next day I go in for hydration and Julio is just amazing at what he does. Fantastic experience: My experience has been exceptional and my results very encouraging. Dr. Aryaie is extremely attentive and goes above as well as beyond to serve the patients in his care. I somehow forgot to pick up my prescription for my pain medicine before the surgery. The pharmacy was not being very compassionate when my family called telling them the situation. I was loopy after the surgery so my family reached out to Dr. Aryaie. He called the nearest pharmacy to have it filled. My family went to the pharmacy and they refused to give them the meds because the prescription had not fully transferred over. Dr. Aryaie personally called the pharmacy which had literally just closed and told them that my care was imperative and it was unacceptable for them to deny me the medication needed to manage the pain after a major surgery. They filled the prescription! Last but not least, his staff is amazing and incredibly patient. I always feel heard and well cared for by them. Thank you Dr. Aryaie & team for making my journey toward health a peaceful and successful one.
