Positive experience: Dr and nurse visits were great but I have to be honest about check in. The woman at the front desk did not greet me when I walked in. She continued to look at her computer so I had a side profile. She was standing up. She said something which I couldn’t hear. I thought she might be on the phone. I realized she was talking to me. I said “Hi!” Then she repeated herself, “Yes, how can I help you!?” Louder and abrupt. She never turned or looked at me. I wanted to step out and start over but that would have clearly been a waste of her time. So we bungled forward and I got checked in.

Fantastic experience: I want to say I absolutely enjoy working with Terryn Martin and having her as my new primary since my Saltzer primary moved away. I was VERY hesitant for a few month about getting a new primary, but with a referral from one of my other doctors, I am grateful for the recommendation. Terryn is so sweet, listens to your concerns, and takes the time to look into issues no matter what they are. She takes pride in her patients—as someone with a history of severe trauma, she absolutely does amazing with me. She is calm and experienced with patients with PTSD, knowing how to navigate present symptoms and listens to you even if it's not directly related to your visit. She is good with distraction techniques and can help manage anxiety, dissociation, and fear, making her a safe person to be around during appointments. I couldn’t ask for a better primary doctor, and I’m grateful I gave her a chance. I would say I tend to have a lot of anxiety when it comes to the front desk individuals when I come into appointments, as I haven’t had many good experiences with a few of them. They tend not to answer their phones well, you get put on hold quite often, and they seem quite busy by how they answer the phones (their out of breath) and it’s hard to work on flexibility when it comes to scheduling with you doctor or requesting a note be sent to your primary. They’re sometimes impatient, which tends to make me think, “Am I the problem?” As I am still quite new to this office, I hope this gets better. But again, if you are looking for a caring primary doctor who has experience and expertise, I highly recommend Terryn. She’s amazing and has made me feel comfortable quickly, which usually takes me some time with new doctors.

Negative experience: My whole family has been coming here for years. While the service was really great, now it’s meh at best. Dr Ecke left, new ownership, expanded too big, too fast. Poor portal platform, too many mistakes with medication, front desk staff turnover and blatant rudeness as mentioned in other reviews. You will have to call this office multiple times and don’t expect a call back. Lack of communication, miss communication without resolution, refusal to have resolution on issues directly related to health. I shouldn’t have to know staffs political associations, we are all tired of it. TOO MUCH DRAMA. I suggest a facility with more physicians and physician oversight that is managed better from ease of medical portal, prescriptions, to basic communication skills. Unfortunately, being a decent NP doesn’t always translate to being a good business owner. I hope in the future the new ownership is more open to the fact they will mistakes, and it is ok to take responsibility for and resolve those mistakes, with better communication, grace, and a loyalty to paying patients. Like many of our patients, an NP cared for your family exclusively for numerous years. We are proud of this state for recognizing the importance of the NP role in both the primary care and broader health care workforce. NPs care for thousands of Idahoans, who could not be served by the physician workforce alone. In fact, over half of Idaho's primary care providers are NPs! We have four bright, kind, caring and truly gifted NPs on our team who work alongside an absolutely incredible physician. Together, these providers work cohesively in a multidisciplinary team that also includes a dietician/health coach, acupuncturist, registered nurses and medical assistants. We share space with a physical therapist in both of our offices. This provides our patients with a holistic and patient-centered experience. We are so grateful to serve the Treasure Valley with this unique model for healthcare. We do wish you well in your search for a medical office that is better suited to your needs.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Life Time since it opened. With the change in owners I was considering leaving but thought I’d give it a second chance. (Dr Eck’s replacement was a disaster. I’d never been treated with such disregard . I was very angry about the condescending jerk Dr. I have dealt with doctors professionally for years and the replacement Dr was simply the worst I’d ever experienced. Fortunately, he is not there anymore. This is why I thought I would give the office a second chance.) I had the good fortune to see Stephanie Duininck, Nurse Practitioner. I was pleasantly surprised with her friendly persona and very impressed with her knowledge. She actually listened to my questions and gave me good complete answers. Positive experience: the staff here is so nice. been going here for as long as i can remember and so have other family members. i email my physician all the time with questions and she is always so helpful. she is now my daughters doctor as well. love seeing her. the billing department sucks though however. I always ask the receptionist if theres any payments i need to make before i leave and they always say no, then months later when i go into my portal theres a payment due and I'm left wondering what it was for. i never get emails notifying me theres a payment. luckily I've never gotten late notices. i don't get into my portal often unless i have questions or looking at my next appointment. i shouldn't be paying anything if I'm told theres nothing to pay. i do wish there was a way to link my daughters portal to mine so i don't have to sign into two different portals all the time. otherwise I've never had a bad experience with them.

Negative experience: Horrible provider. Dr Eck was a great provider years and years ago. He sold his practice to an out of state company. Now, all they care about is profit and do not care about level of service at all. I even know their lab work company who echos the same message, strictly for profit. I was having a discrepancy on a bill, and my insurance said I did NOT owe them money, they claimed I owed them money. They knew I was talking to my insurance about it... within ONE WEEK, they sent me to collections. Talk about customer service. Their medical knowledge is vastly underwhelming. My sister is a cardiac PA, and has to do her own research to figure out my issues better than my own provider could. They also provided inferior medical care to my mother for years and she stuck with them because she didn't want to start over with someone new. Finally she sent them an email firing them as her medical provider, and they immediately canceled her prescription that was waiting for her at her local pharmacy. Talk about quality medical being practiced. I do not recommend this business to anyone who cares about their health or their pocketbook. They misclassify/code medical bills constantly trying to get every penny they can, while providing a dangerously low level of medical care.

Negative experience: Was a patient I say because I tried to make an appointment and instead of responding they locked me out of the portal and just ignore me. Tried to make an appointment earlier than that and couldn't make it to their scheduled blood test at their office while they refused to let me get blood drawn at the hospital. So now I can't get my cpap equipment which is deteriorating so good luck to me because even with health insurance you can't get into a Dr while this one kicks me to the curb with no response. Negative experience: I saw a provider by the name of Julia Jensen who was super rude and only saw me for 20 minutes for an intake appointment (99203) and then she tried shoving anti depressants in my face when that wasn’t even what I was there for. I hate how providers think they can just do whatever they want and give the patient no regard to their own health. But that’s not how I roll. They continue to bill me for a service that I specifically told them not to because they didn’t do anything for me. After multiple attempts to resolve this I am finally leaving a review before I report fraudulent activity to my insurance and also report to the license board.

Positive experience: My husband had a weird, surprising experience at Center for Lifetime Health. The office was highly recommended by my chiropractor so we were expecting a different approach. He was early for his appointment and the office was completely closed. When the staff got there, about 15 minutes late, everyone was rushing around and stressed (naturally). But the real surprising thing for me was that his Dr didn't really try much to investigate any root problems or offer whole body, long term solutions (as we were expecting). The Dr. just gave him bandaid pharma prescriptions like any other Drs. office. And then, when he went to go pick up the ones he actually wanted to try, they hadn't called in the one medication that he really needed, a sinus medicine. So we made a trip to Costco for nothing. We're not really sure what happened, and we hope it was a fluke; just a bad day for the office. I have an appointment with another provider in January and we're hoping for a better experience.

Positive experience: Terryn is an awesome provider and the receptionists are always friendly and polite. My main issue is the amount of bills they send you after you have already paid and clarified with the receptionist that there are no more payments to cover. If you go here you’ll get bills on your online account and repeatedly in the mail for appointments from months before. On top of that, the billing department does not return calls. I’m sick of this and am looking forward to switching providers. I will miss Terryn because she was very empathetic, patient, and an amazing listener. I had one of the newer male providers for my last visit and he was awful. Bad listener and I generally didn’t even want to discuss anything with him.

Fantastic experience: Quick summary: An outstanding practice of patient-centered, whole-health focused providers. I spent more than 10 years bouncing from one primary care provider to another before finding Center for Lifetime Health in 2013. They were the first group of providers I found as an adult that I "clicked" with. I really value their approach to whole health, versus simply working on one issue and throwing pills or procedures at issues. I initially saw Dr. Eck, who was great, and over time I have seen every provider for either annual wellness checks or episodic care visits. My wife was also having a very difficult time finding a provider she liked after her PCP stopped practicing. When I saw Dr. Jensen's profile when she started at CFLH, I suggested my wife give her a try. My wife ended up being Dr. Jensen's first patient, and they immediately clicked. Dr. Jensen has an excellent, patient-centered, whole health approach that my wife and I immediately came to appreciate. After observing Dr. Jensen treat my wife, I decided to switch to her as my PCP as well, and have been very happy. Dr. Jensen and Michelle Carter, RDN used their training in lifestyle medicine and nutrition to help me to get my pre-diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol/triglycerides under control through lifestyle changes without needing medication. My blood sugars, cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides are all into normal levels, and my blood pressure has dropped from Stage II hypertension to "elevated", on step above normal. Previous providers tried to manage these issues with lectures and medication. The only complaints I really have are that their online portal is a bit outdated and clunky, and it would be nice if it was integrated with MyChart so that I could see all my labs and tests with all my providers in one place.

Dr. Jensen in particular is amazing and has even been helping me with my mental health so that I don't need to see a psychiatrist! Fantastic experience: Colleen Shackleford and the staff at Center for Lifetime Health are amazing. It is the kind of place that gets you in their office on the same day if you need it. They relay messages to nurses regarding refills in a timely manner. They return phone calls when they say they will. Their customer service feels genuine and I never feel like they are rushing me out or through anything - not check in, appointments, check out or phone calls. Colleen is the kind of DNP that not only really listens to you but also digs a little deeper. She found something seriously wrong with my health that had not been asked about by my old provider. By recommending further testing (and the why behind it) she honestly saved my life. She isn't quick to prescribe prescription medication to fix your issues and brings holistic options to you by suggesting alternatives, like vitamins or other things to improve your health. My daughter is a vegetarian and she even went over food replacement options for her changing body that would keep her fueled with energy. When Colleen has been out of the office the other providers have shown the same type of service. If you want a relationship with your Doctor's office Center for Lifetime Health is highly recommended.

Negative experience: I found CFLH online due to its close proximity to where I live. I saw Colleen for a routine visit to check my thyroid and get a new prescription. Rather than talk about my thyroid, Colleen wanted to discuss her opinions at length regarding the COVID 19 vaccine. Treating my thyroid was at the forefront of my mind and I left the appointment wondering if she had listened to anything I had to say. The medication I have taken for the past 12 years is not a generic medication and insurance companies generally want a letter from my provider specifying why I need to take it. After many phone calls they sent a letter to my insurance. Fast forward six months, my family is on new insurance plan so they reached out to CFLH for a letter for the prior authorization. The letter they had on file was never sent to my insurance company. The office admitted the mistake. It then needed to go though an appeal process, which the office never followed up on. This was a 3 month process. They relayed this message to Colleen and she said she was no longer following up and I needed to pay out of pocket for the prescription. I am now paying twice as much for my medication (something I have never had to do) due to the negligence of this office and specifically Colleen.
