Fantastic experience: This place made some of the best years of my life so far. So sad it's gone now.

Negative experience: The place is closed

Negative experience: GYM SRQ sold annual memberships and decided to shutter their doors without any reimbursement to those of us who had annual memberships. They did not go bankrupt. Rather, they just didn't want to pay their rent any longer, according to an employee. Be aware of this if they decide to open in another location. UPDATE: I was contacted by the gym, and was told that refunds would be coming within a few days. I will update and or delete this review if/when that happens. DH

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a big/clean facility and lots of equipment. Had a guest pass for a week and I thought the pricing was very fair!

Fantastic experience: Solid gym - good amount of free weights, kettlebells, and areas for different types of exercise on their turf and power rack areas. They also have lots of cardio equipment along with a lot of machines; no matter your goal or workout program, you can easily make it happen here. Clean gym - nice front desk staff - I’ll definitely go back next time in town!

Fantastic experience: My Active & Fit subscription allowed me to visit this gym for a few days while I was house & dog sitting for my daughter. I have been to many gyms, many military base gyms included & SRQ rates up there with the best I have ever been to. Its large, lots of new equipment, clean & ownership is not absent, they greet you as you enter. If you're looking for a great gym, I highly suggest you give this one a try!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were in town for a long weekend and our condo didn’t have a gym. Gym SRQ couldn’t have come in more handy. We paid for a drop in it was super easy. Ubering from Siesta was also quick and easy. The gym was clean, large and had everything we needed to get a workout in before starting our day while on vacation. The front desk was helpful and friendly. We will be back next time around!

Fantastic experience: Visited this gym during a recent vacation and couldn’t possibly rate the experience highly enough. Purchasing the pass easily online prior to dropping by, the awesome hours (opening and staffed at 5 am), the extremely well-kept and clean environment, perfectly laid-out and ample amounts of equipment for any exercise need - all aspects that made it my favorite traveling gym experience yet. If you’re a local looking for a nice home gym or a traveler needing a place to land for a few days, you won’t regret GYM SRQ.

Fantastic experience: I'm 56 and have seen every type of gym there is, even worked in a couple in college. Was visiting Sarasota and dropped in. Equipment was top flight, clean from locker rooms to the training floor. Staff was hospitable and courteous. And extra credit for no sales pitch for the traveler drop-in. Serious trainees but no one yelling insanely.

Fantastic experience: GYM SRQ is a gym’s gym - a serious, no extraneous, well equipped gym. Never have I seen as many people working out with focus and attention to the proper execution of their exercises. The trainers, male and female, look the part. Dedicated to health and well being, my trainer, Sean, watched my workouts with a professional eye making sure I got the most benefit, safely, out of each exercise. Best gym I have ever been associated with.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly and helpful staff, 2 trips to this gym while on vacation and not a bad word to share about it. They have everything I need for my powerlifting/bodybuilding training.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Sarasota. I actually pay for a week pass every time I’m here instead of going to AnyTime Fitness where I’m already a member. You have the best hack squat machine because I can keep my feet really low on the pad.

Fantastic experience: Sean is by far one of the best trainers on the planet. I was schedule for a knee replacement and suffered from lower back issues. After a short time period Sean had me in shape, stronger, more flexible. After a few months, cancelled the knee replacement, improved my back issues and mentally better than ever. Every workout is customized for me and varies based on where Sean sees that I need improvement whether it be core, strength gain, cardio or just stretching. It’s worth the time and effort!!

Fantastic experience: Sean @ Sean Rhinard Fitness at SRQ gym is a fantastic trainer. I have had a great experience with Sean as my personal trainer for the past two years and he helped me strengthen my shoulders after a major rotator cuff surgery too. He customizes a training plan around your own physical abilities and pushes you hard but knows when it is enough as he takes the time to know YOU as a person too! Sean is a Master Trainer and takes his profession seriously. He is friendly and sociable and the experience that I have had with Sean has been superb! I highly recommend Sean Rhinard as your future trainer! Ask for Sean!

Fantastic experience: I worked out here all but one day while on vacation in Siesta Key. Unbelievably fair pricing and not taking advantage of the “little man” for a weekly workout price like that other one on the beach. We stayed right around Beach Access #7 and the drive was about 6-12m depending what time of the day/morning you’re leaving. From A to Z, this place has a 10 rating. The team members I experienced were all straight forward professionals. The gym itself is very spacious and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!! It’s organized, also. The clientele that I worked out around were no B.S. fitness-minded individuals. From 20yr olds to what appeared to be 90yr olds. No yelling or slamming of weights. This will be my go-to for what I hope to be many trips to this wonderful place. Thank you to the general staff, managers, and owner of this place. Thank you for not railroading us all while prices continue to rise. It truly means a lot. Hooah!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a locally owned, clean, friendly, non intimidating atmosphere GymSRQ is the only place to go. The equipment is well maintained, you're not waiting on people to use machines, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner is on site and available!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym with great staff. I just read the previous review and while this may be an isolated incident, I can’t believe silken can get this bent out of shape especially on a weekend not opening in time. Things happen and everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. It’s Sarasota I’m sure 1-2 hours is not that important and there are many different activities to do like going to the beach etc. Love this gym and all the good vibes day in and day out from the staff especially Andreesa.

Positive experience: This has always been a great gym, good people and nice equipment. Unfortunately, I and about a dozen other members spent over an hour on a Sunday morning 8-9am sitting in the parking lot waiting for them to open (8am), but apparently someone slept in and somehow they lack the protocol to prevent this from happening. This isn't 24 hr fitness, this shouldn't be possible. If your business plan relies on Millennials, I suggest building in backup plans. A couple members reached out to their trainers to contact mgmt at 8 am but I just left at 9 and place is still lights out. I know this is 2022 and this if Florida f-kry but third day visiting and third insane experience. I hope last night was worth it. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I love GymSRQ. It’s so clean and the staff is always super friendly. It has every piece of equipment you could want in a gym and the layout of the gym is perfect. I’m a huge fan of Sean Rhinard and the small group fitness training. He’s an excellent trainer. Has great attention to your form. He’s encouraging and positive. We are continually moving during class and if you want “extra” he’s always willing to give you another circuit. I am a snowbird and the gym is so good about allowing you to put your membership on hold. I highly, highly recommend GymSRQ and Sean Rhinard Fitness.

Fantastic experience: Got a week pass while on vacation ($25). As a personal trainer myself here were my observations. Very clean and organized gym with tons of different equipment. Power racks, Olympic weight sets, free weights, shock turf strip for sledding, massage tables which I’m under the impression you can get from trainers, plenty of cardio equipment and machine weights, and two cable pulley systems. Can cater to a wide variety of training styles/regimens. Very knowledgeable trainers that don’t look to hound you like LA Fitness. Bathrooms and shower areas were spotless. Look nowhere else but GYM SRQ! A+++

Fantastic experience: I was on vacation in February and needed a place to lift that was nearby our air b and b. I found this gym in walking distance and wow was i surprised. They offered me a guest pass for the week even with Covid going on. I lifted 3 days while i was visiting and the staff was beyond friendly and not fake like most gyms. I told them i Powerlift and they offered me a belt and a bucket of chalk to do deadlifts ! What gym does that ? The equipment was so nice and eveything was so clean. I recommend this gym to anyone living in Sarasota or visiting on vacation. It was an amazing experience and i hope to lift there again in the future.

Fantastic experience: Just visiting my parents and bought a week membership. Great gym, every piece of equipment you can imagine. Friendly staff. If I lived here I'd join.

Positive experience: It has good equipment, not a clean gym. No one walks around wiping down stations. All mine had sweat on it before wiping it. Small stretching and free weight area. Closes at 10 PM, not really worth the price to signing up.

They do have some interesting gymnastic equipment not common To many gyms. And the also offer deals on Chrio freeze therapy. In have not tried yet. I would love to give five stars. But they need just a couple pieces of equipment. .

Fantastic experience: Laci is my personal trainer. She is highly credentialed in her field. I would never work out as efficiently in the gym as I do under her lead. Everyone there has been really helpful and nice. The facility is very clean. They have all the equipment you could ask for.

Positive experience: Prior to Covid19 I enjoyed a classes in stretch and a strength with Max and looking forward to starting up again. The gym and bathroom is always kept clean. I was going to the YMCA on Potters Park prior to them not accepting Silver Sneakers and was becoming dissatisfied with their level of keeping various places not clean and I could see dust on several things in areas that I used to work out. This was never the case at GYM SRQ.

Fantastic experience: It's great. Clean, friendly. We are only here for a month but didn't want to not work out. $10 a day or $55 for the month. Better deal than anywhere else we checked. Used it last year too.

Negative experience: My sister gave her 30 day notice to cancel her membership and they are still trying to take money from her bank account and told her they were going to keep trying to take out money out of her account this place is not a good gym all they try to do is rob you blind.they raise your membership fees with no notice.

Fantastic experience: Staff (Ms. Sohni and Mr. Chris) is very knowledgeable and friendly. Patiently listened to my goals and requirements. Going through some training sessions. The trainer Mr. Chris is awesome and easy to work with. 3D body scanning is a very good idea, facility is very clean and the equipment is very latest. Will give an update after few weeks of my training.
