Fantastic experience: Love it !

Negative experience: The facilities are very nice and the gym equipment is well appointed. We chose to quit this Y after only 1 month solely due to the Adventure Zone childcare. I read previous reviews about children watching tv and was initially hesitant but we were assured that the television was only used for certain activities…that isn’t the case at all. The caregivers simply pulled out bean bag chairs and put Bluey on for the duration of our workout and had kids of all ages watching tv. Once we picked up our children, the caregiver took his own seat in the beanbag chair and continued watching tv with the kids. Again, the facility is nice but I cannot recommend this Y if you care about how your children are watched over. Instead of trying to fight the urge to turn the tv on (which is a historical problem here), how about get rid of it so it’s not an option…

Fantastic experience: My family and I are new members of YMCA. We already love it! We are very pleased with Karen at front desk who helped us to choose the right programs for us. We also would like to thank Alex who patiently teaching our daughter how to swim. All other crews are super nice and helpful. We highly recommend YMCA!

Fantastic experience: The Indoor Cycle class with Andrea is the BEST! Its so fun and goes by fast, its helped get me in the best shape of my life.

Fantastic experience: This ymca gym is very well kept and clean. The trainers are also very nice to help you when you do not know how to use a certain machine. Everyone has been extremely helpful and I love it here so much !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for about two years now and really enjoy it. The facility is clean and I never have trouble finding a machine to use. I’ve done the kickboxing, body pump and Pilates classes. Teachers have all been really knowledgeable, welcoming and had great classes for whatever skill level you’re at. My kids have also done a few dance classes, basketball sessions (different location though) and karate and have enjoyed those as well.

Positive experience: Do not sign your kid up for the summer camps here. It isn't worth the money. My kid told me all they did last summer was sit around inside. When it rains, they don't really have any backup plans. She was part of the 'STEM' camp...and they hardly did anything. You can find better camps that are not as expensive elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing facility. The cost is inexpensive and they have everything that you could want.

Negative experience: Childcare consists of putting movies on all day long, no matter if the children shout, asking to turn it off because there's a scary scene. They refused to turn it off and said their parents allowed it when I asked for no TV at all! *In response to the Y's response. I went to this YMCA just about every single day of the week during morning and evening times, and NEVER did they have "Sing/dance-a-longs", "Enrichment activities", or any other scheduled activities, because it was often chaotic and disorderly. Once, my kids said they played a card game with the caregivers, but all the other times, there was no order; kids climbing over anything, throwing balls, hurting other kids; this is what I had seen weekly for 3 months. I am baffled at the lies in their response. If they mean teenagers busy on their phones as "trained caregivers", then they need a different kind of training.

Negative experience: Childcare at this YMCA consists almost exclusively of watching movies, some of which I surmise many parents would object to if they were cognizant of what the children are exposed to (the selection is likely based on preferences of the teenagers looking after childcare). We have attended this YMCA for months and had a pleasant experience. We kindly asked for the television to be off for every visit requiring childcare. On one occasion recently it was turned off in front of the parent, and then turned back on immediately when the parent left to exercise. This had not happened to our knowledge the previous two dozen or so times. Our request had always been respectfully heard. The last time our family went to the YMCA, for the first time they refused to turn the television off at all. Other parents may find no objection to this YMCA's "childcare". I would at least encourage you to take responsibility for the content your children are exposed to here - don't expect discretion from staff. Other YMCA's in the area may provide much better childcare service - such a critical blessing to families with young children, allowing the parents time to exercise. Your children are worth the longer commute!

Positive experience: Don't know why they built it so small. The free weight area is way to crowded, especially with all of the kids in there that are more worried about socializing.

Fantastic experience: I love this YMCA. Im a senior and I feel like anyone else working out. It is so clean I'm not worried about covid. I have recommended this YMCA to my senior friends.

Negative experience: Never have I ever had such a hard time trying to find/ register for swim lessons for my 1yr old. The website is horrible and directs you to register under a newer system @denverymca.force.com which does not even work. - Bummed First Time Parent

Fantastic experience: I kind of assumed that all YMCA's took Silver Sneakers as I have gone to several YMCA's and they took it. Really sad and frustrated that you currently don't take Silver Sneakers. Hope this changes and soon! I initially gave them 1 star as they are a YMCA and didn't take Silver Sneakers.....I received a recent response from the manager that they now take Silver Sneakers - YAY I can't wait to go there.

Fantastic experience: We love the Y! The classes are awesome! They have yoga, barre, High fitness, Pilates, body pump, total body conditioning, body combat, cycling and so much more! Our kids are becoming excellent swimmers through their swim lesson program and we love family swim as it’s a wonderful indoor pool to have so close by. Kids night out is also great! They love making crafts with the Y staff and having dinner and activities while we go out for a date night. So many fun things to do at the Y and the staff is so positive and helpful. Check it out when you get a chance!

Fantastic experience: I am a new member of the YMCA and enjoy this newly built facility in Colorado with its high tech state-of-the-art workout equipment and staffs are very friendly and helpful. Tho this location only has an indoor swimming pool but it's excellent for my yearround swim practices. Lifeguards here have been doing a good job in keeping the pool and its area clean and safe.

Negative experience: This is regarding the community pool in wheatlands this is run by the YMCA high school kids. The pool is always filthy because the high school kids are not trained correctly and they don’t really have any incentive to work hard because they are in high school. Not once did I ever see Lori or any other supervisor training the kids on how to skim the pool or keep it clean. It is dirty and filthy when all it takes is skimming the pool every 15 minutes. Yet, all I see is kids in the snack room on their phone when they could be skimming the pool. This is an outdoor pool and it needs to be skimmed many many times!! That is common sense!!! Very disgusting!!!!

Fantastic experience: Such a great facility! So glad to have a clean gym in the area with staff that is attentive and friendly. All of the equipment is top of the line and I love all of the different options you have for classes. The swimming pool is really nice and the lap swim is wonderful.

Negative experience: I’m giving this 1 star due to the cost of an individual membership. After my sister and her family decided to join, I looked into it. We thought it would be a great family experience, I could spend time with my nephews swimming and workout with my sister. However, when I looked at the individual member price and realized group exercise was not included, when it is included with all the other memberships and would have been an additional monthly fee …(making the total payment $55/month). I was a bit outraged, it made me feel like they are trying to discourage individuals from joining. Especially when the cost for a couple is $75 and a family is only $88.

Fantastic experience: We are regular attenders. The Management and Staff are great. They welcome you with friendly smiles, make every effort to accommodate you, and acknowledge you when you leave. The facility is being routinely cleaned and kept in top shape.

Fantastic experience: About a month since it opened! The facility, the equipment, the staff all are exceptional! Our kids enjoy their swim lessons, my wife and I enjoy the options for classes and the personalized training program! Remember to get yourself the fitness bands that applies your profile and tracks your activity, if you haven’t already, schedule a walk through and download the app for a more curated workout experience!! This is a much needed facility after an year of lockdowns and restrictions!! Thanks YMCA!
