Our comment from Nutrifinder.net about Abdullah Bisher, MD:
Dr. Abdullah Bisher is an exceptional gastroenterologist who has dedicated many years to providing top-notch care for his patients, including children. His compassionate approach is evident through numerous reviews highlighting his ability to listen and connect with his patients, often going above and beyond in their treatment. Patients have praised him for:
- Thoroughness: Dr. Abdullah takes the time to explore complex medical issues and has successfully diagnosed conditions that other doctors have overlooked.
- Supportive team: His staff, particularly nurses, are described as kind and attentive, contributing to a welcoming and child-friendly environment.
- Natural and effective treatments: He offers various options for treatments, including natural supplements, and ensures patients understand their care plans.
- Caring for special needs: He has a reputation for providing excellent care to children with complex health needs, showing genuine concern for their well-being.
However, some aspects of the practice could improve, particularly regarding:
- Staff communication: While many patients appreciate the medical care provided by Dr. Abdullah, there are consistent complaints about the interactions with front desk staff, which can be perceived as unfriendly or unhelpful.
- Appointment scheduling and wait times: Several reviews mention long wait times for appointments, and challenges with reaching the office for scheduling or inquiries.
- Billing issues: Some patients have encountered difficulties with billing practices and insurance processing, leading to frustrations.
Despite these challenges, the overwhelming consensus is that Dr. Abdullah's medical expertise and compassionate care make him a highly recommended choice for gastroenterology, particularly for families seeking help for their children.
Abdullah Bisher, MD: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Dr Abdullah has been seeing my son since he was 14 now 24. We are very happy we found such a caring doctor that goes above and beyond to make sure my son has the care he needs for his UC. His staff is very friendly and they have a lot of options for natural supplements and biologics/ treatments if necessary. They listen to their patients and set them up to succeed in the healthiest life possible. I am thankful to have been referred to Dr Abdullah.
Fantastic experience: I have been a Pt. of Dr. Abdullah’s since May of 2023. After decades of being dismissed and ignored by doctors - HE LISTENED & CARED. Turns out I’m one of those rare “zebras” and he solved so much of my medical mystery around my Gastro system. He also supported my MALS Dx and got me connected to some of the best specialists in the country. He works along side my complicated medical team, takes the time to listen and learn when multiple treatments overlap or need certain priority and I’m so grateful for his dedication to wanting to improve my quality of life. He advocated for me with insurance & specialized medication, fought for me to have IV central line access at home to improve my daily life, and I have been gut bacterial infection free for over a year now! His office staff has gone through challenges since I became a patient, and thanks to MA Janet and several others - he’s got a fantastic support team now. Any issues you might have get taken seriously and are addressed quickly / mistakes always happen / it’s how you manage them. I credit Dr. Abdullah and a talented PA in his network with literally - saving my life.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah helped my daughter’s baby when she was having terrible reactions transitioning from breast milk to formula, is super hard when babies can’t talk and we feel hopeless, her pediatrician didn’t know what to do, but Dr. Abdullah found the problem and resolved it. I am forever thankful and can never thank him enough, we owe him our peaceful nights of sleep, and the precious baby’s health. Thanks a bunch Dr. Abdullah!
Fantastic experience: I have been taking kids to see Abdullah for around 15 yrs now. He is currently treating my son. He is amazing as all the other reviews say. In fact as soon as Infound out he treats adults too I dumped my GI and moved over to Abdullah. I wasn't going to leave a review but I saw a lot of reviews about the office staff. I have never had an issue with them they weren't super friendly but they were fine. However, I have noticed a huge change in the staff and they are all so happy and friendly. I dont know if he talked to them or what but I wanted everyone to know the staff are amazing!
Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Abdullah for a couple years now, since getting diagnosed with celiac! He is so awesome and always making sure you understand what he is doing and why I he asks for certain and and doesn't just throw certain meds at you, he makes sure they work for you and you have everything you need! His office is so clean and some of his staff is amazing!
Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Abdullah for about 22 years now, my whole life. He is amazing! Dressed up as super hero’s for Halloween runs across hospitals trying to find stuffed animals that were “missing” yes he orders lots of tests that some insurance may not cover but they are necessary as gi issues are not easy to diagnose. His front desk staff are not the nicest in the world but past that he’s an amazing Dr.
Fantastic experience: Dr Abdullah is absolutely wonderful, he is extremely kind and is easy to work with and does an excellent job with kids, keeping them entertained in the clinic so they are not scared or bored out of their minds, he also takes extremely fast to get back to calls or questions.
Fantastic experience: the best doctor. highly recommended been seeing my daughter for 18 years and now is also my daughter. Very understanding, listens, shows concerns. always smile. This is the best clinic if you looking for gastroenerlogy care
Positive experience: Dr Abdullah is brilliant however the staff are horrible to deal with. Plus there's no patients portal to just send a message like every other doctors office. They use something but no one ever replied or sees the message! I have had to call several times to get answers. My last endoscopy wasn't tested correctly for mast cell syndrome and when I called to ask they said the pathologist said they refused to stain cd117 which is the gold standard for this. They tested tyrpase instead and I told Dr Abdullah several times it needs to be CD 117.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is an excellent doctor always courteous and professional.
Fantastic experience: I know your address, i will be visiting you in a few days. tell abby and chloe i said hi
Fantastic experience: Dr Abdullah is beyond exceptional. He is a truly remarkable Doctor and GI specialist. He is incredibly kind, and doesn't shy away from extremely complicated health pictures. He cares deeply for his most vulnerable patients and has a special affinity for Autistic kids. He is constantly searching for the answers to optimizing the wellbeing, health and comfort of his patients. He ensures his patients have his direct support during health crisis which is unlike any specialist I've ever encountered. You could not find a better pediatric GI Doctor anywhere.
Negative experience: Save yourself the trouble and headache. Seek help elsewhere. You will wait forever, they will push procedures to try and squeeze money out of you, and they will bill your insurance wrong and not fix it leaving you to foot a hefty bill. There is other good doctors out there. Good luck, parents.
Positive experience: Dr. Abdullah is an AMAZING doctor! Best MD I have ever seen. . but, the other staff are snobby, rude, fake nice and not very smart. Girls who are more focused on their appearance than their profession. They wear heavy amounts of perfume which is very inappropriate in a medical setting. Many people have severe allergies to fragrance. I had to wear a mask to this office even before covid, to avoid their perfume triggering an MS flair up. They don't stop chatting to welcome you. I have stood there waiting for them to end the conversation with their co-worker before checking me in. They don't communicate well with eachother (Dr/nurses/front desk) and there was confusion about the labs that I kept calling about. The confusion/lack of communication happened 4-5x. I kept having to call and explain and get transferred around and no one knew what was going on or what i was talking about. They dont answer emails with calling and asking for someone to check and get back to me weeks later. Again, Dr. Abdullah himself is the best! But he needs to rethink the rest of the team. I lost my home due to MS and had to leave the state. I was too ill to make it to my appt so I called and explained and asked for a phone appt. The girl was super rude and just said in a really bored, annoyed tone "ok he'll call you" then hung up. The day of the apt came and I sat looking at my phone and he never called. Weeks later I got a bill for a no show. Months later after leaving multiple messages explaing what had happened, I got a call back saying that they would waive the fee but that he called me and I didn't answer. It is not even legal to bill Medicare patients for no shows but he did not call!
Fantastic experience: Very nice.
Negative experience: While this clinic did a decent job of diagnosing my child’s digestive issue, the positives stop there. First, the front desk staff was incredibly rude both on the phone and in person. They are always overbooked, so the wait to actually be seen was lengthy, which is hard with small children. They also told me I could bring lab samples to them, then when I did they sent me on a wild goose chase through the hospital because they couldn’t actually take the samples, like they had said. No one seemed to understand the challenge that all of this was with two children in car seats. Worst of all, the treatment plan for my nursing infant only took her health into consideration. There was no regard for my well-being or nutrition. I was told to cut 6 major foods from my diet, then at the next appointment asked to cut another 2. When I asked for formula suggestions I was told that the doctor doesn’t like formula and that was the end of that. We found much better care and compassion for both children and adults at Seattle Children’s.
Positive experience: If the front desk was the reason you went there you wouldn't!! I called to get my daughter in for her appt. The girl who answered acted like I was inconveniencing her. Also they misplaced my daughters referral. I was told to call after a few days. So when I call she tells "maybe it's on the fax" and to call back. I called 2 days later. "Well we must not have received it". Call our doctor yes it had been faxed but they sent it again. Waited another 2 days. Called finally they "found it". The girls just seem annoyed to just be there. VERY VERY unprofessional in answering phones and greeting patients!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah has taken care of all our special needs kids for years! We have referred all our friends to him as he is the best GI doc for not only Pediatrics, but adults! He helped us find answers when other doctors gave up and dismissed our concerns! I cant say enough about Dr. Abdullah and his wonderful staff!!!
Positive experience: The Doctor is wonderful!.. The rest of the staff need to get it together. They often rush me off the phone and are rude. They have a significant lack of communication/cordination with eachother and the Dr. They forget to contact me for weeks even after I have called and left voicemail, left msg with front desk and emails. I called to ask them to fax my labs to my Dr. and was told they can't unless I come in to fill out a release. I explained that I was 4 hours away and asked if they could email it and they said no. I called to ask the next day and that person said no problem and sent them right over.....
Fantastic experience: Thorough and exhaustive. Found him super helpful for our kids last 3 years of intestinal troubles.
Positive experience: Love Dr. Abdullah, his nurse and the Dietician Andi, however I’m only giving three stars because of the two girls that sit at the front check/in counter. They are total snobs. Rude, unprofessional and overall seem to loathe life. Ladies, if you hate your job so much go somewhere else. It’s too bad they are the first representatives of Dr. Abdullahs office because he is nothing like those two.
Fantastic experience: I would like to give a 10 star review to Dr. Abdullah for helping my grandson today. My grandson has been to the woodcreek walking so many times for the same symptoms and to Mary Bridge ER and they want to treat asthma instead of the pneumonia that was found from the chest X-ray that the GI dr found. Thank god for DR ABDULLAH.
Fantastic experience: My wait time this morning was HORRIBLE my appt was for 9 am and we didnt get seen till 11am. But in all fairness, Dr Abdullah had 2 emergencies where kiddos had to get transferred to the hospital and we has been swamped all morning! I'm really glad we waited because he really is amazing with my kiddos and will do whatever he can to make them better!
Fantastic experience: He was a very nice doctor!. He instantly knew what was going on. He is the best stomach doctor!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah has treated 2 of my grandchildren and one has a clotting disorder he discovered. We were so impressed he never gave up looking and testing for the problem. He also diagnosed another grandchilds gastric isdue she had had since burth with severe stomacj cramping and vomiting. I highly suggest this dictor and his staff.
Fantastic experience: Dr Abdullah was the first one to recognize my son's Crohn's disease for what it was and immediately started treating it. Dr Abdullah genuinely cares about his patients and I wouldn't have my son see anyone else.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is the nicest doctor and so thorough! I have been so pleased with the way they have investigated our problem and worked so hard to help us. But as important as that is, it's just as important to me how his office staff treats patients and that is outstanding! They are kind and helpful from the front to the back, they all deserve a raise!!
Fantastic experience: Dr Abdullah is one the best gastroenterologists/ digestive specialists in Puyallup/Tacoma. He is very concern with all his patients. He always listens to me very carefully. He referred me at once to a specialist whenever he think it's necessary for my health. He is very kind, soft spoken n always has a smile on his face. I will refer him to my relatives n friends. He has a lot of experience. Thank u Dr Abdullah for taking care of ur patients. You're the best!
Negative experience: I've seen Abdullah for about 2 years now. At first thought he was great as I got a diagnosis and began treatment for my condition. However, every single appointment after that first one seems like the same loop of info and suggestions. He doesn't take much time to listen and is quick to order lots of expensive tests without much explanation. And sadly I've seen no real improvement in my condition. Abdullah has repeatedly ordered tests for which I've explained multiple times are not covered by my insurance. He has also repeatedly encouraged me to also see their in-office naturopath in conjunction with seeing him, which I've also explained multiple times my insurance also does not cover. I actually have really good insurance with great coverage so not sure why he keeps insisting on expensive tests and providers that are not covered (I'm assuming he must get a good cut?). The billing department is absolutely HORRIBLE - every test I've been sent for has resulted in gigantic bills even though I have great insurance that covers well. I have had to battle each bill because of missing pre-authorizations, incorrect billing codes, lack of documentation, etc... I've spent WAY too much time on the phone with Abdullah's office, my insurance, and locations I've received the tests from. So frustrating and time consuming. And to top it off the front desk staff are unfriendly and not helpful.
Negative experience: Great doctor! However, the office has horrible communication. They are extremely difficult to connect with. Any time I have a question or need to make an appointment I have to call several times through the day to get anyone on the phone. Their lab also has limited hours and it is very challenging to get lab work done when you have a day job and your child is in school.
Fantastic experience: He honestly is one of the best doctors my kids see. I reccomend him to anyone who has a child with complex needs.
Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Abdullah! He has been taking care of me since the 3rd grade and I am now an adult and I refuse to see anyone else, no one can match the expertise and care Dr. Abdullah gives to me. I am grateful for him and his staff at the clinic(s) for being so great and helping me through my journey to better health!
Positive experience: From eastern Washington where doctors suck! Been trying to figure out what was going on with my baby for months and in 1 visit he got done what 4 other doctors could not do! Better care worth the wait in the waiting area hands down! Could use newer office furniture.. Current furniture is really ran down and uncomfortable. Still worth it .. To gey good care!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah has always provided superb care for my son. I sincerely believe taking my child to Dr. Abdullah means I am getting my son the best care available. Dr. Abdullah came highly recommended from other doctors & I can't express how grateful I am to have found the attentive care of this provider (especially after the years of stagnant care endured with other providers at other clinic). Thank you, Dr. Abdullah & staff!!
Negative experience: Every single time I have brought my child here for a SCHEDULED appointment I am stuck waiting for hours. This is unacceptable. If the appointment is at 10 am, we should be seen at 10 am. I drive very far to come here. Terrible.
Fantastic experience: After reading other reviews here's my two cents. Is scheduling appointments and wait times less than stellar? Yes. Can billing be difficult? Yes. Is Dr. Abdullah worth all the hastle? ABSOLUTELY YES. He orders a battery of tests because GI diagnosis isn't simple positive/negative testing. His care for my daughter has been exemplary. Thanks to the diagnosis, treatment plan, and dietary changes she now lives a fairly normal life. His coordination of care with Tacoma Children's Hospital made a very scary hospital stay as easy and comfortable as possible. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Abdullah.
Negative experience: Doctor was nice and helpful but his staff is completely incompetent. Brought our child in December 2016 and they couldn't find the info on his formula on the internet (its honest brand which is easy to find). Had to come back with the pack of formula, same month) and got charged twice for the same visit due to their complete incompetence. Didn't get a bill for 9 months, and then got a second bill which doubled the amount 2 months later. They billed us 11 months after our visit. The lady who runs their billing is also a complete waste of time. Once again, doctor is nice, everyone else is a waste which may be on purpose. I will never ever take my child to this place again. After receiving a $900 bill, I decided to make payment which were usually $25-$40 a month, these jerks sent it to collection. I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS!!! Not my fault you took 9 months to bill me.
Negative experience: Just tried to set up an appointment for my daughter. I need to change her doctor because her current provider has not been able to figure out what is wrong with her. I was told that I needed to call her and tell her to call Dr. Abdullah to change doctors. So I have to call her current doctor, tell her that she is incompetent and that I need her to switch me to Dr. Abdullah. I wont be taking my child to this clinic. What a shame, I saw Dr. Abdullah ratings and comments and I was hopping to get some help.
Negative experience: Even after I told him several times that we didn't have medical get ordered several expensive tests all still found nothing wrong. Wait times over an hour at every appointment.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is the kindest, most patient, and understanding doctor that I have ever met. I don't say that lightly either. I've had really bad luck with doctors all my life. Dr. Abdullah is currently treating my one year old for GERD and food allergies and he has been basically since he was born. He's about to start helping my daughter with her food issues because of autism (we'll be seeing his nutritionist). Basically, he listens to your concerns, finds what he thinks is the best treatment, then he asks you if you're ok with that. The best part is that if you're not ok with what he suggests he'll find an alternative for you even if it means doing research on his part. I really like Dr. Abdullah
Fantastic experience: I am thankful for Dr Abdullah's help.
Negative experience: Amazing team. The billing department gets a big fat zero from me tho. Such a nightmare.
Fantastic experience: I don't what would had happened to my son without the medical care that Dr. Abdullah has provided for my son! Blessings to him and all his staff.
Positive experience: good listener, will help you get to the bottom of your problem. very helpful however his assistant Rachel is very incompetent she is forgetful and very slow
Positive experience: Staff at the front desk are not really friendly. Clinical staff seems great. Sometimes a long wait to be seen.
Positive experience: Dr. Abdulah is a such a great doctor who helped my son with his reflux. At Puyallup location all nurses are so kind but the service is horrible not willing to help you when you call for documentation or any issues that you have.
Positive experience: My first visit here was not the best experience but with much help from Dr.dahan and staff everything was straighten out. Dr. Abdullah is a very nice doctor and I was satisfied with his service.
Fantastic experience: A truly amazing Doctor with a wonderful staff. Dr Abdullah is the epitome of what every doctor should be. He is kind, intelligent, patient and shows that he truly loves what he does. At our first visit, he identified an aspect of my daughters medical condition that had gone unnoticed by every other doctor we had seen during that period of time. Which includes the 5 doctor team she had seen daily for nearly 2 weeks at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital at TG. I'm so grateful to him and his staff at Prime Healthcare. And speaking of staff, they are terrific. The nurses are so nice and love kids and the desk staff is very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is wonderful. Prime Health Clinic is a great place! So very clean and professional but yet warm and caring.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is the most patient and caring physician I have ever met. He engages with his patients and shows sincere concern. I always come into the office with all of my children. The office is very child friendly. Even the exam rooms have toys for the kids. When Dr. Abdullah walks into the exam rooms, instead of looking annoyed by the clutter of toys and noise, he smiles and is quick to say "it's ok, let them play."
Fantastic experience: Dr. Abdullah is an amazing Dr. I really feel like he cares about my sons health. He is kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. I'm so thankful we found him.
