Fantastic experience: I used to think doctors are just… doctors. Until I came here. This doctor is so brilliant that I genuinely wonder why she doesn’t already have a 6-month waiting list. I didn’t feel “processed” — I felt understood. Everything was clear, professional, thorough — and at the same time so human that you instantly feel safe. Negative experience: Repeated inaccurate muscle testing preformed by Dr kristy harvell have caused my family harm and unrest I would Say "No" don't go here! There are better locations to get treatment. She has been here 10 years practicing in Jacksonville, FL and only 49 reviews, and some of those are people who work for her. (Which is a conflict of interest) After my first google review she asked her staff to give her positive reviews. If she is will to do something so unethical then how many other liberties may she be taking to make sure there is an inaccurate 5 star review on Google for Health by Design. The stars I did give is for her staff, she is very good at hiring quality staff. My husband was told by kristy for 2 months he had heavy metal toxicity. Her supplement treatment made him very sick and for repeated visits we returned to her. We then sought a second opinion, and our Medical Doctor ran 3 tests and no metals detected. A THIRD Practitioner tested my husband that same week, and again no metals found in his system. I too was given supplement treatment that cause me serious allergi reaction that I should have not been prescribed. Kristy sadly is not very good at what she does professionally. I have concerns she will continue to seriously hurt others. They also are not very timely in returning email.

Fantastic experience: Working with Dr. Kristy changed my life! I reached out to her in during an intense period of anxiety that was affecting many aspects of life and within a few weeks on a supplement regimen, my mental health and several other minor chronic heath issue that would have been written off as nothing were immensely better. I was amazed as I had exhausted most mainstream things, but through muscle testing, we were able to identify specifically what my body needed to heal. I’ve also learned so much through her 90/10 Lifestyle program and have also enjoyed the health fairs to connect with more holistic practitioners and the extra modalities after your session! Fantastic experience: I love Health By Design. The fact that I can listen to my body and follow the direction of HEALING it wants for me is a whole different ball game. I was struggling with my energy levels, just giving up on adulting. However, after seeing Caroline and finding out what problem my body was most wanting to fix and getting the right supplements! Negative experience: Response to Health by Design: I did express my concern about the heart scan and the individual who performed it to Dr. Caroline as stated in my review. Everything else was part of your practice and what I witnessed during that time frame. As far as this account, it is mine and my nickname is known by the office. Original post: I was introduced to nutrition testing by a family member who has battled cancer her whole life and was managing things very well with herbs. I signed up for 8 months with Health by Design with hopes that the herbal regime would help with my health issues. along with an herbal regime, I was to receive nutritionist guidance and also chiropractic care . Here's my experience with each part: Chiropractic care: they barely did anything. Maybe a little adjustment here and there most often with the gun massager. One time my sacrum was adjusted incorrectly and I had trouble walking. Went for a fix but that counted as one of my limited number of appointments. 2 chiropractors left during those 8 months. I felt as though they pushed you to come in weekly just to have you use up the appointments and sign up for more. Nutritionist: I was meeting with the nutritionist in person. She was great to speak with and conversations often seemed therapeutic. But after my 4th appointment (i got 6 appointments in my package), the nutritionist was let go and they went to a online course plus virtual meetings with a different nutritionist. I did not want an online course and the new nutritionist didn't agree completely with the former and I would need to sign up for a new package to get her guidance. I felt a little cheated. Nutrition Response Testing: my practioner was Caroline. Very sweet and good bedside manner. I have no issues with her nor the testing. However it didn't seem there was much knowledge about what was actual in the herbs. So if I got an adrenal support supplement, the main ingredient may have been one thing and i could already be taking that. When trying to give me new herbs I may have to ask what's in it. Additional services: this is my main gripe and what made me lose any faith i had in this particular practice. They will offer different screenings and classes upon occasion. I signed up for a heart scan that was to be administered by someone very experienced. I decided to sign up because my mother had passed a year before suddenly from an unknown heart issue. The man doing the testing was extremely dry and told me he was type A. when tested the man opened his eyes up really wide and told me my heart was so bad that I shouldn't exercise at all. I mentioned his personality because his delivery of this information was terrible even if my mother hadn't passed away from heart issues. He told me I need to work on getting the proper nutrition for my heart before I start working out because I'd cause other issues. Never once was I told to tell my PCP nor a cardiologist. But instead given a list of additional herbs to take. When I met with Dr Caroline I told her about the interaction. She agreed that he should not have delivered that information to me and she said that she would talk to Dr. Kristy about it. She also confirmed that the man was not a doctor of any kind but rather worked for Standard Process which is the herbal supplement supplier for this office who just happens to have experience with these scans. I never heard feedback from Dr. Kristy instead the next week or so she did a podcast with the man who did the test. After that, I was pretty much over it, I would still go because I had time left in my contract and I was continuing with some of my herbs. I did notice that the staff had been changing quite a bit .

Fantastic experience: Dr. Caroline is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a genuine advocate for my health. I have become more in tune with my body trough holistic practices. Give yourself the opportunity to learn about how your body can heal naturally!

Fantastic experience: Health By Design came just at the right time!! I was feeling tired, sluggish and depressed and I was not getting answers. I came and began taking the supplements that they discovered I was deficient in and I IMMEDIATELY started to feel better!! Negative experience: Started my journey with HBD 2 years ago, I had a wonderful practitioner who truly loved what she did and was good at it. Then all of a sudden one day she just quit, and I was transferred to a different practitioner. It just went down hill from there. Appointments are rushed, doesn't seem very personal or caring. I couldn't get myself to start going regularly again, it just didn't seem right. Today I went back for the first time in a year, only for them to tell me my appointment was canceled and the staff to give me a smirk asking me if I'm sure my email appointment confirmation was from them and not some other clinic. Maybe this place was great 2 years ago, now with so many people jumping ship its just not the same as it was. So, thanks for introducing me to muscle testing, ill be taking my family elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Adrienne helped me with sciatic pain I've been suffering on and off for a couple years. I haven't had any issues for the past 3 months now. She also helped me manage an old shoulder injury, and I'm now completely pain free during all my workouts. Absolutely recommend!

Positive experience: My opinion varies from the majority of the reviews for some reason. Originally I wasn't going to leave a negative review, but I'm just frustrated at this point and I'm locked into a contract. First issue: I'm told my next appt will be a virtual by the checkout team. The day of the appt rolls around and no call so I follow up with them about 7 minutes into my appt time. I'm almost lectured about how I am late and the appt was scheduled for in person. I clearly told the checkout team I could not be there in person and in turn I was offered the virtual. Andrea said no worries and did the call. Second issue: my husband shows up at 1305 to pick up vitamins for me. The staff member didn't want to help him, and she said she told me they were closed from 1300-1500 on the voicemail she left me during working hours. I'm not allowed to have my phone on me during working hours so I missed that call. Moving forward, he tells the staff that I already paid for the vitamin and he was just picking it up. She refused to do any research and charged him again. Turns out, I did pay for it so I had a credit on my account for the next purchase after I followed up on it during my next visit. Third issue: I was on my way to the appt (around 1705) and received a call asking where I was. I stated I was on the way and the text said the appt was at 1730. She says that I need to show them the message when I arrive and she will update the practitioner. I arrive and Audrey (the saving grace because she is amazing) tells me to just go in her office and she will figure it all out. I voiced my frustration to her and the office manager ended up meeting with me to just apologize. Fourth issue: I visited the office to purchase a vitamin and the two ladies talking at the counter ignored me for about 5 minutes to continue talking about a previous patient. Turns out all she had to tell me was to go to checkout to purchase the vitamin. It felt so awkward just standing in front of her waiting to be acknowledged. Fifth issue: I tried taking a break to cancel my appt for tomorrow at 1400 but of course they are taking their 2 hr lunch so I have to wait until I get off to call. She then informs me there will be a late cancel charge. I'm like I tried to call and the office is at lunch. She states per their policy you have to cancel during working hours and lunch is not working hours. Luckily she finds an opening after work so now I can make the appt and avoided the charge. My problem is I am constantly made to feel like an inconvenience. I pay a lot of money, as all patients do here I'm sure, and the last thing I want is to be made to feel like an inconvenience. I'm always having to justify myself and I would have quit coming weeks ago of it wasn't for having pre-paid. So I advise against going if you are thinking about it. I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but I think a 2 hr lunch break every day is a bit over the top. I see patients at my work and we get a 30 min lunch break. Our lunches are also staggered so someone is always available to assist over the phone or anyone walking in. I cannot be the only patient to need assistance during this timeframe. Also, there are too many calls, emails and texts to confirm appts. Just my opinion though. In all fairness, I want to wrap up by saying I love Audrey and Andrea. Both help me in so many ways. I'm truly grateful for them. I've avoided making a review because of their time and efforts, but I'm just over it.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kristy is a crazy witch doctor. I came down with covid 19 and it was bad. Within 3 days of taking her recommended supplements I am basically back to normal AND I have regained my sense of smell and taste! My girlfriend had covid a week before I did and she is still feeling symptomatic and can’t smell or taste anything!! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kristy’s practice! What do you have to lose!!??

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kristy and her staff are amazing! For over a year I've been dealing with shoulder pain due to stress, headaches, fatigue, and weight gain. She made a personal care plan for me that included not only chiropractic care but nutrition management. After a month and a half, I had less fatigue, no migraines, and I even lost 15 lbs. I feel the best I've ever felt! I feel so much more energetic and look forward to my weekly visits.

A friend told me about them and recommended that I try to see if they could help with my migraines. Fantastic experience: I originally came to Health By Design because I was having stomach aches every day for a few months. I tried eliminating different foods on my own to try to figure out what what causing it but nothing worked. So I came to see Sharlie and she got me started in a nutrition plan. About two weeks or so after I started with her I got a UTI (another thing I had suffered from multiple times a year). We decided not to go the antibiotics route and rather try to eliminate it through eating right and reducing sugar/carbs. It was a rough two weeks but my body was able to kick the infection and I haven’t had one since! Now that I’m out of that crisis I’m back to working on my stomach and I have had so much success with that as well! No more daily pain! I could not be more thankful for the work Dr. Kristy and Sharlie have done to help me!

Fantastic experience: My two month old has acid reflux and a tongue and lip tie. She had not been sleeping for more than 10-20 minutes during the day and no more than 3.5hour stretchesast night. She's been eating for 45-60 minutes at a time with meals beginning two hours apart. This is not cluster feeding. This is how she's always fed. Our first appointment with Dr. Kristy was Thursday. My daughter LOVED the treatment. It wa such a light massage like touch. We went home that day and she took a two hour nap then a one hour nap! She slept 5 hours straight that night. Yesterday she napped again for two hours and then for an hour and a half. She slept almost six hours straight followed by another four hours after that! None of her feedings since the appointment have been longer than 40 minutes. My baby is finally able to relax - and so am I! Dr. Kristy and her staff are such a blessing. Fantastic experience: I started seeing Dr. Kristy in the spring for recurrent UTIs. I had 6 of them over the previous year and had tried to do everything right, but nothing was working and I did not want to take antibiotics so frequently. After starting with Dr. Kristy, I did not have a UTI for a few months until I went on vacation and got off my eating plan. At that point I was convinced..eat food and don’t get a UTI or eat poorly and be susceptible to UTIs. In addition, I had an abnormal pap smear that my ObGyn said would go away on its own, she said to reduce stress and try to support my immune system. I didn’t even seek Dr. Kristy’s help for this problem, but after working with Dr. Kristy for 6 months, my pap results were back to normal. I’m so thankful for Health by Design. Dr Kristy and her staff have been so kind and helpful to me. It has truly changed my life and will forever change the way I manage my own health needs of my family.

Fantastic experience: I found Dr. Kristi through some online reviews when I went out of town and got a pinched nerve in my back that was dehabilitating. I was very nervous to visit a chiropractor due to misinformation I had received from other people. I am so glad I didn't listen and took the plunge! Dr. Kristi was so gentle, kind, and loving. After a few visits my neck and back returned to normal. It was such a relief! Additionally, we are working to restore my hormones after years of fertility treatments through nutrition and supplements. I'm thankful for the ways I can see my body restoring back to normal.
