Fantastic experience: My goal for the first month was to stop my chronic pain from years of sitting at a desk working on my computer. Long hours of not moving. Brian's class has taught me how to stretch properly using a foam roller and a softball to help me battle my chronic pain. Brian's classes have really helped me loosen up my joints and feel much better. I lost 10lbs my first month. Continuing into my second month my goal is to loose another 10-12lbs. Following Brian's meal plan has helped me loose wait and taught me the importance of good nutrition. I highly recommend this program for anyone over 50 who wants to feel younger again, all I can say is it works and it's fun. Thankyou Brein....

Fantastic experience: I am delighted to write this review for Brien Shamp, President and Owner of Brien Shamp’s Coaching, Nutrition, and Fitness, and a certified professional trainer and wellness and life coach. Obtaining long-term results from fitness and nutrition training is not only due to the commitment of the client, but also has a great deal to do with the education by, and role of, the trainer and coach. Although I have been a client of Brien’s for 12 years now, I also recently took advantage of doing the 12-week program he developed regarding all aspects of health, happiness, and fitness, and feel that I can unequivocally attest to its success due to his training, coaching, and personality in online classes. As a result of Brien’s coaching and training, I have learned a great deal about proper exercise and nutrition for someone my age (I am 76 years old), and feel that I am healthier as a result of this. Prior to working with Brien, I always did the same routine at the gym, and eventually had a torn meniscus in my knee from too much gym equipment resistance (for which I had surgery), and then not long afterward strains in my hip tendons, for which I had to get physical therapy treatments. It was around the same time that Brien was recommended to me through a friend, and I started working with him. From Brien I learned proper exercise for flexibility and resistance using one’s own body and muscles, and in fact, saw that Brien used many of the same exercises as the physical therapist to take care of the strained hip tendons. Brien also helped me get through a hip replacement and a knee replacement, always showing me exercise modifications that were needed then, and even now as I age further. From Brien’s recent 12-week program, I also learned about basic healthy foods and nutrition needed, and also how to look at all aspects of one’s life in order to gain happier and more fulfilling lives. Brien always carefully listens to me (and I can see he listens to all his clients), carefully customizing an approach for nutrition and exercise for each person that gives them the proper tools and allows them to build on their own development. In addition to the above, Brien’s upbeat/positive personality, sense of humor, and obvious commitment to, and belief in, what he teaches enables him to keep people’s attention and make his life coaching and exercise classes enjoyable. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Brien to anyone desiring improvement in their lives in terms of health, diet, exercise, and a positive outlook on life.

He has built a strong foundation with nutrition and exercise and has given me hope in myself (physically and mentally). The boot camp community is positive and strong. We lift each other up in our classes and have a fun time while working out.
Fantastic experience: I'm busy...really busy. I've got three kids (1, 3, and 5), own my own business, and a human and who works four jobs. I was put on bedrest for almost five months with my last pregnancy and hadn't really done anything to get myself back into shape after my youngest was born. A friend recommended Brien Shamp's program to me, telling me I needed to take care of myself. At a very low (crying in old navy king of low), I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I've only just begun the journey, but lost over 12 pounds of fat (yes, fat!) in six weeks and that was while nursing my youngest. I feel better, clothes fit better, and I don't snap at my kids nearly as much. The fast workouts are intense but not boring, the meal plan is easy to follow, and the support of the coaches is so helpful! I'm so glad that I've started this journey and am excited to see what the upcoming months will bring.
Fantastic experience: Before joining the boot camp, I felt that I was relatively in shape or fit enough. I am 5’8” and weighed about 151lbs before starting. After interviewing with Cheryle, I was excited to get started, yet nervous about the lifestyle/dietary change. Plus, starting just before Thanksgiving and ending on New Years Eve meant giving up all those delicious holiday meals. But after a only one week of Brien’s nutrition plan and working out at their sessions, I already started to notice a huge change. Dropped 3-4 lbs and around 1% body fat. A lot of this may have been water weight, but I kept pushing and kept at it. At the end of the challenge, I lost 13 lbs and 4.3% body fat. All of the instructors were great. They were all kind and motivating. Instead of pushing people to always go faster or harder, they would make sure we have the right form to ensure the workout is effective. Once we got the form down, then it was time to pick up the pace and add more weight. Highly recommend their classes. The nutrition plan was tough. It was a bit restrictive for me given my foodie lifestyle and the fact that I love sweets. But keeping to the plan really does help you lose the cravings to munch on food randomly. I didn’t get as hungry during the challenge. I essentially did a low carb diet (less than 20 net grams of carbs per day) and intermittent fasting with an eating window of 12-8pm. Doing both greatly helped me drop the weight, even more so than the workouts. Overall, I’ve never felt better. I’m feeling more confident and eager to continue the lifestyle. I likely won’t be as strict, but I will be mindful of what I eat going forward and continue to work out on my own. Thanks for the amazing experience, Brien! Can’t wait to take what I learned with me into the future.

Fantastic experience: I have always been a pretty active and fit person in general, and didn't need to do much to maintain that until my mid 30s. Then suddenly, despite exercising several times a week and eating right, I was gaining weight. Nothing was working! I was frustrated and depressed. I needed outside help, and I found that with Brien Shamp's program. I loved the workouts! Tough and challenging, but a lot of fun. They guide you through their diet, which was hard for the first week, I ended up liking that too. It's helped me to develop better eating habits and eat more veggies, something I didn't do much of before. You are assigned a coach to answer questions and give advice throughout the program as well. It's been 6 weeks and I've lost about 5% body fat, and I'm back to where I was at 30. I'm going to continue... Maybe I can roll back another 5 years!
Fantastic experience: I just finished the 6 week challenge, It's pretty exciting to see something finally work for me. The first two weeks felt challenging with the elimination of old eating habits, but now it just feels normal. Once you get your head out of what you CAN'T have to what you GET to have it all changed for me. The workouts are constantly changing so it's not mundane, but you can choose whether or not you want to challenge yourself with heavier weights. I plan on sticking with it, it's a delightful community of people doing the same thing together and motivating one another.

Fantastic experience: I love Brien's Boot Camps! They're welcoming but not intimidating. The instructors are knowledgeable, helpful & encouraging! The studio is great and has pretty much everything that you need for a full body workout! The program accommodates all fitness levels! Expect a different workout everyday! :)
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Brien Shamp’s Boot Camp for a number of years, and love it! Over the years I have successfully done a number of his challenges. But when I did these challenges I would fast or be counting calories, waiting for them to end. He has modified and improved these challenges each time, and the NEW 6 Week Challenge is amazing! He has simplified the nutrition guidelines and added more support. The changes I made I have continued with no problem. I was never hungry, and actually ended up saving on my groceries. In 6 weeks, I lost over 30 pounds. I have continued the guidelines and habits it started and have lost almost 50 pounds total and over 12% body fat. His team is great and it is a fabulous community to be a part of. (These photos were taken 2 months apart. The “before” picture was 2 weeks after I started the challenge.)

Fantastic experience: I have joined Brien Shamp’s 6 week challenge. The goal was to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I can’t believe my eyes after I saw my before and after pics, OMG my body has transformed tremendously. I lost 22 pounds by following the program exactly. I worked out everyday early in the morning at the Burlingame location, I followed the food list and never cheated!!! All the coaches are soooo amazing and they help you in every way, whether you have a question or need help with one of the workouts. They helped me modify so many workouts and it was so great! On top of that, I loved that I had an accountability coach who I could count on whenever I needed her any time of the day. Tonya is the best! I don’t think I will ever go to a gym again! Fantastic experience: I joined Brien Shamp's Boot Camp program in March 2015, but it was not until 2 months later that I committed and not only went on the 21-Day Detox (through which I lost 13.5 lbs and 3.1% body fat), but I also began working out 5-6 days a week. I have worked with trainers off and on for about 8 years and my experience of Brien's boot camp and nutritional program far exceeds everything else I've tried in the past (including most if not all diets out there). The workouts are challenging, but offer modification options for beginners or boot campers that may have any health issues (back pain, previous injuries, etc.). I've met pretty much all instructors at both Belmont locations and absolutely love them all (of course I have my favorites), but they are all great. Brien is a pretty awesome guy, very down to earth, fun, motivating and always working on offering his boot campers everything we may need to achieve our goals. Through his program and coaching my relationship with food changed considerably and I went from choosing foods based on my emotions to eating whole/primal foods that offer my body the nutrition it deserves. I overcame my addiction to sugar/refined carbs and I am finally on the path toward acquiring the lifestyle I've always wanted, including being able to enjoy and look forward to my workouts every day. Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Brien Shamp's boot camp since 2012 when I needed to lose some baby weight. I'm not much of a gym person and like to stay interested and motivated when I workouts. What I found at Brien's has been unbeatable. The workouts are tough but not so much you can't do them. The trainers encourage you, the people in the class motivate you and you get stronger and see results. I lost 20 lbs working out in boot camp, and kept it off during pregnancy #2. I recommend everyone to Brien Shamp, and the classes are for everyone. You go at your pace, you do what you can and every day is a new challenge for your body. Come check it out!!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Team of Health and Fitness Professionals! Brien is not only my trainer, but is my life coach and good friend as well. With the assistance of this team at the studio I have lost over 150lbs. Mike King, always a great motivator guided me through my first Spartan Obstacle Course Race. Tonya Moceri puts the pedal to the metal and is always complimentary. She also taught me how to foam roll properly. Shannon Doyle is not only a fantastic trainer, but is a Hypnotherapist who brought out some deep rooted reasons I wasn't losing weight. She has also become a spiritual guide for me. Cherly Matteo was at the very first Boot camp I attended. She always has a smile and I love when she teaches the class, she makes it a lot of fun. So many others, Trish, Gerald, Nick, the list goes on and on. This is a non judgmental environment with people of all different sizes and ages. Everyone is supporting and motivating.

Fantastic experience: I never liked gyms, I preferred to work out at home. My wife always goes to these boot camp things (never Briens), thought I'd try it out for myself. I looked into crossfit type camps first and.... it just looked like I was going to end up getting hurt or injured doing that kind of exercise. Brien has a great sense of balance when it comes to working out. The environment is very friendly and e-z going, but when its time to push, the motivation is there and positive. There is no "bone crushing" or "look at me" or "I'm better than you" kind of stuff here. The crowd is all shapes, sizes and ages. Just look at some of the videos online. If you are just getting into fitness and looking for a lifestyle change this is a great place to start. All the trainers and members are helpful and will ease you through the whole process from exercise to nutrition. At the same time, if your intense, you will find a challenge here BELIEVE ME! If you are guy and looking for something different, hit Brien up, I'm sure he would be willing to give you a few free days (or a week) to try it out, RIGHT BRIEN!! After seeing and feeling the positive change in my overall health in only 3 months, I decided it was time to invest some $$ in myself and signed up for a full year membership. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: I have wanting to write a review for Brien Shamp's bootcamp for quite a while. I joined Brien Shamp's boot camp through a living social deal that I bought last year in July and since then I have been hooked onto to the program. I have lost 21 pounds in the last 8 months. Brien has some amazing instructors like Tonya, Mike King, Gerald, Laurie, Semisi, Shannon, Dolores, Grace and Steven who are amazingly talented and give you the motivation to work hard and make you achieve your weight loss goals. Brien's boot camps have given me tremendous confidence to believe that I could loose the excess weight and body fat that I had gained over the last 4 years. Not only have the boot camps given me the confidence but they have also given me the ability to fight stress and indulge in healthy eating habits. For me what has kept me going in the program is that everyday there is a new workout and working out 5 days a week has created discipline in me. The only reason why I am leaving the boot camp is because I am relocating to Torrance and I wish Brien had a program down in SoCal so that I could continue with his butt kicking boot camp classes.
Fantastic experience: Best boot camp ever! I have been to a few boot camps due to living in other cities but no one compares to Brien Shamp's boot camp. Brien is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about fitness training, nutrition, weight loss, etc. - you name it. I attend the Belmont boot camp coached by Brien and it is really fun. The hour flies by and each workout is never the same so your body is constantly challenged. I've met some really great people in the class too, which is an added plus!

I tried a different boot camp with cold grey walls in a warehouse setting and it was simply not motivating-- what a difference! The email and newsletter support is a constant reminder to continue what you are doing so well in the boot camp. The workouts are not boring or extremely difficult. I used to be a tired night owl eating at fast food on the go between meetings. Now I wake up for the 5:45 am boot camp and have more energy and feel great-- and my kids are getting the benefit of an improved Mom who makes them green smoothies in the morning and thinks about running around the block with them instead of driving. Thank you!
Positive experience: Brien Shamps boot camp was an experience. I had never done any bootcamp before but it was fun. I purchase Brien Shamp on Living Social deal. But after the deal was over it cost way too much. If it is not to expensive I would definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Brien's boot camp in Menlo Park consistently since July 2013. The coaches I work with are motivating and fun, knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. As a result of my continued attendance, I see increased muscle definition, my energy level is high and my attitude more pleasant.
Fantastic experience: I went to this Boot Camp in Burlingame, and had a great instructor-Tanya. It was very fun and enjoyed it very much. The 10 or 21 day detox information was very imformative. Brian always send email update and tips in having and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Very helpful! ;-)
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Brien Shamp's boot camp classes. I attended several batches with different instructors and found them all to be extremely professional and motivating. The best part about it was constant emails from Brien Shamp everyday reminding you of your goals and encouraging you to achieve them. I felt very energetic and happy about working out, which is rare given that I am not big into exercising. Brien Shamp and his team definitely helped me become more fit and just feel that "I can do it". Would be more than happy to join again once my work schedule is on track! Thanks so much guys - you are one of the best boot camp classes in the bay area!
