Negative experience: I usually dont post a bad review unless I feel like I need to. It seems there are 59 5 star reviews for weight loss, but I went in for hormones. I was feeling desperate for help. The first visit to the Rockford, IL location, going in for consultation, I did feel rushed by Vanessa but went ahead and went with it even though I felt it was very expensive. I was given a saliva kit $375 and sent on my way. Second visit and I felt rushed again as the phone was ringing but went along with it anyways. The pellet therapy was $700 per pellet and I was sent home with three bottles of adrenal supplements that I never agreed to and was not told what they cost or how to take them, etc. I called back asking to be reimbursed for the supplements and I was told sure just bring them back, so I did..to be told by Vanessa they cannot take them back and reimburse me and I gave them back to them and im sure they will be resold again since they were never opened...so they will make twice the money on them. I called back to make a appt to get another pellet and to ask what the cost was and I was told $750 this time. I said no thank you. I cant believe how expensive this is and how dishonest the price quotes are and I never received any follow up calls from anyone. Dr. Thakkar did call me once through the entire treatment but no follow up after that. If you are looking to get pellet hormone therapy, please do youself a favor and go to Wellness Refinery in Roscoe and deal with Stacy. Her pellets are only $375 per pellet and she actually cares about you and blood tests are covered by insurance through her as well.

Fantastic experience: I think that you get the best care at the Rockford IL. location, the two young ladies that give me my treatment every week. Has made it poseable for myself to lose 82 pound's so far. With all of the support they give me, I would like to say that, they due a superb job and give them two thumb's up. Thank You Mark

Fantastic experience: I just want to thank Dr. Thakkar, Vanessa and Holly at the Rockford location. They have countinued to encourage and support me through this journey.I have serious thyroid issues and I have been able to lose 85 lbs so far since the end of November.I am not going to say that they have a magic solution to weightloss but if you actually put the work in and follow the program you will see resaults I can promise that. Negative experience: This company is the worst! They don’t pay there bills after the work is done! My company did $1000 worth of work for this company! They tried to paid half because they said that’s all they think they owe! How do you agree to a price then have the work done and then try to negotiate?! BEWARE THE OWNER IS LOW LIFE! The owner tells me that he knows people in Rockford that he not worry about taking him to court!

Fantastic experience: Nov 2021: Dr. Thakkar ordered blood work at an independent lab to check my vitamin and hormone levels and then introduced me to the HCG protocol during the free consultation. I researched it and found a lot of benefits that convinced me to try it (I no longer have hypertension or shortness of breath, and my metabolism is higher now). I was also very happy that Dr. Thakkar provides vitamin, enzyme and probiotic supplements along with the HCG. My research led me to 2 books that I found VERY helpful: Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity by A.T.W. Simeons, M. D. and Weight-Loss Apocalypse: Emotional Eating Rehab Through the HCG Protocol by Robin Phipps Woodall. I ended up doing the HCG program along with an appetite suppressant for 6 weeks, then a 3 week transition period back to a healthy diet, during which I continued to lose weight at a slower period. From Nov 8-Dec 19, 2021 (using HCG), I lost 31.2 lbs. From Dec 20-Jan 9, 2022 (transition period), I lost 10.2 lbs. As of today, Jan 25 2022, I have maintained that weight loss with no more than 3 lbs of fluctuation. I lost 6.1% fat mass, while maintaining my muscle and water mass, according to my body scale. I am very happy with my results and experience and am planning to do the Lifestyle program (this is how I decided to maintain my weight with the doctor’s supervision, I didn’t want to go off on my own yet) until spring, when I would like to do one more round of HCG protocol. It costs a fair amount of money, but nowhere near the amount of money, time, and energy it costs me to be sick and overweight. If you are serious about making changes, I recommend Dr. Thakkar’s business wholeheartedly. I wish my general practitioner and cardiologist would get on board with weight loss as a disease preventative. Update Sep 2022: I completed the Lifestyle program in May 2022, losing a total of about 17 lbs, and have been able to maintain the weight loss.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the Rockford office the first time was a tad chaotic . I started my program at a time when staffing was in a transition. I did lose weight and I must say that Dr Thakkar and Barb are super congenial, and helpful, I did enjoy them. I voiced my concerns and Dr Thakkar went out of his way to address them and work with me . I am trying the program again.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Thakkar and his staff! I've been coming here for 4 months so far. Their approach to wellness is different than anything I've encountered. They help you achieve a healthy lifestyle that you can maintain! They spend a lot of time getting to know you and your whole health history. They do lab work and hormone testing if indicated. Dr. Thakkar discovered health issues that I have had for my whole adult life, that no other doctor had found, and has already reversed it! I have more energy than I have ever had. They have me on a great regiment of vitamins as well. Barbara is also amazing! She always goes above and beyond for anything I need and is always available to me! She is informative, supportive, and very knowledgeable in the wellness programs offered here. I would recommend them to my family, friends, and anyone else who asked!

Negative experience: My husband did the HCG diet for 9 weeks (per protocol) and lost some weight - maybe 32 lbs. Then he says he had to stop the HCG diet per protocol for 8 weeks. During the time off of the diet there has been no follow up or guidance and he has gained all of the weight back. This was a total waste of our time and money.

Fantastic experience: I started seeing Dr. Thakkar in October of 2019 for hormone replacement. I was feeling really run down, tired, no energy, etc. After about a month I really started to notice that I was feeling better. As my energy increased so did my activity. By late December I decided to look into other opportunities for weight loss. I went back and met with the staff onsite, Samantha has been my point of contact throughout. She gave me a plan for intermittent fasting and I started a weekly lipotropic B-12 injection regimen. From January to date I am happy to report that I am down nearly 60 lbs! I have lab work done every couple/few months to test hormone, thyroid and other endocrine functions. Dr. Thakkar and his team have been great to work with. For anyone that needs a little support or that nudge to start to live a healthier lifestyle, please give them a chance, you won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: I went on the hcg diet lost 36lbs and have learned a new way to eat and so much more! I have taken thyroid medicine for about 15 years and my numbers have been up and down and Chicago weight loss clinic checked my hormone levels and found out I had not one but two autoimmune diseases that pertained to my thyroid. Since then I have been on their thyroid medication and my numbers are looking great not to say my weight is finally coming off. It is not an easy weight loss plan you can’t take a magic pill, but it is a great program with a great app and lots of support! Fantastic experience: I started my new way of living on March 10, 2017, @ 251lbs. My height is 5'10", on 4 shots of insulin a day.(1 long term and 3 instant shots for meals.) After 8 weeks of the program, I was able to get off my insulin. That is worth it even if I did not lose any weight, but I did. I am in maintenance now and still continuing to lose weight. It is June 2017 and my weight is 183. total of 68lbs. The program was easy to follow and with the help of Karen made it very possible to stay focus.
