Negative experience: They charge per use of the sauna, YOU 'deserve' a gym that allows you to use the sauna whenever you please, especially when you're paying Tahoe prices, pay per use of a sauna is insanity and should be a red flag for ALL customers, especially if they weren't notified by staff. I paid everything up front with the idea that the sauna was open use. They obviously can't train their staff to tell the truth. AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR AN AMENITY, are you serious? No one deserves to have their time wasted, business' needs to be upfront and truthful about everything, including extra charges over extra amenities that I deliberately asked questions about, the sauna was the only amenity I cared about, and they didn't tell me the truth up front. It's not ethical and it's bad business. Go to AthleteX. Usury and commingling is bad business. The general manager threatened to not refund me, to counter commingling, I called my bank, and my bank credited me a refund immediately and put a stop payment on them. Bottom line, go to AthleteX gym instead, trust me. It's the same price and you may use a sauna that gets hotter and is larger, whenever you want. AthleteX is a larger much nicer gym, way more friendly. THERE ARE BETTER GYMS THAT YOU CAN GO GIVE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY TOO.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here off and on for several years when I’m in town for the weekend.I really like the fact that they are open 24-7 as I like to work out early less crowded.This gym has everything you need for a good hard workout,or not so hard.Bathrooms are clean,out on the main floor equipment and floor is clean.Only issue I have is with the keyless entry at the door. The last time I went there, they had the buttons on the door where you would be sent a code in your email and you’d punch that code in and it would let you in. Now you have to download an app follow the steps hold your phone one to 2 feet away from the sensor and it will open the door. I don’t know what it is I have nothing but issues with trying to get that door open with the old system and now the new system. I went in yesterday, Saturday, August 23 during regular business hours paid the $25. The young lady there set me up told me what I had to do. I showed up this morning Sunday at around 4:30 AM and had a heck of a time trying to get in the door. I tried probably a half a dozen times and it finally opened. I don’t know if other people are having same issues or if it’s just me. this is still my go to Gym in South Tahoe I just really like it.if you’re an out of towner like me, you need a good workout place give this place a hard look.

Negative experience: Small, clean, meh. I got a membership here 8 months ago, almost exclusively for the sauna. At the time it was down for repairs. 8 months later and it's still "down for repairs". Apparently all they need is a lock on the door? Don't advertise a sauna if you're not going to operate it.

Negative experience: 80 dollars for a 1 week pass is insane

Negative experience: The only good thing about this gym is that it’s open 24hs and location. Downs: Lack of mirrors and ventilation, limited amount of machines and when they break it takes too much time to them to fix. Like the lat-pull down machine they just fixed it but its been more than a month. Crazy. Sauna been closed all winter and now that its going to be re-open there is a new “fee” if you want to use it. At the moment there is times where its still not too crowded but good luck in summer. Hope this helps.

Fantastic experience: Visiting from out of town, needed a gym to keep me sane. This place was perfect, cute and cozy. Lighting was reallyyy good. Especially surprised it had a hack squat machine. Bathrooms were clean and a post shower was enticing. The blonde girl at the front desk was awesome and very helpful. Will definitely be using this gym again when I’m in the area, will miss it a lil too

Fantastic experience: Just moved to the area &was looking for a new gym that suits my needs. I tried a week pass &absolutely fell in love with it. The atmosphere is great &the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She even gave me a sneak peak at the new infrared sauna that will be opening soon !! This gym is clean, well kept &open 24 hours (which is hard to find) !! I am excited to be a new member gym love it is exactly what I was looking for.

Positive experience: The gym itself is nice but it lacks equipment. The weight lifting section is very small and doesn’t offer a lot of equipment. I had to wait almost an hour to get a bench for my workout…. Thankfully they offered me a free day pass before I signed up because I wouldn’t spend $60 a month for this place.

Fantastic experience: well-run, clean club! whether traveling through Tahoe or living, this is the best gym option in town.

Negative experience: Coldest shower you'll ever have.

Positive experience: A lot of reviews mention clean gym but they are really old, this is one of the dirtiest gyms I’ve ever been to. The floors and most of the equipment are covered in grime, dust bunnies and hair and they stay that way for weeks, months - no one is cleaning this place. At all ever. Other than that good location, good price. Equipment is too close together.

Negative experience: No more hot water for the showers. Staff really doesn't do a good job of cleaning the gym. The sauna is never on and always cold even though staff is on duty. The place is going down hill from when I first joined. Pretty sad!

Negative experience: Great gym but they blast country music 24/7 at MAX volume. I’m talking I have noise canceling headphones and can’t listen to my music over the country music. I would give this place 5 stars if they would just turn off the radio .

Fantastic experience: Really easy to register for online. Received entry instructions immediately upon payment. Facilities are quite good, well equipped for a small gym. Will be back.

Fantastic experience: A really nice gym with all the essentials including kettlebells, dumbbells and squat racks. They even have an assault treadmill and a climbing wall. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Would visit again.

Fantastic experience: Best lifting gym in the area for visitors. Pretty comprehensive set of equipment, only thing really missing id say is plate loaded pressing machines. You can get 1/3/10 day passes. Front desk guy was nice too.

Fantastic experience: If I could give Apogee Jiu Jitsu ten stars out of 5 I would. I seriously couldn’t say enough good things about the coaches and the team as a whole. The level of personalized coaching you get from this team is world class. My wife and I trained here for a month while on an extended stay in Tahoe and we were welcomed in so quickly. I might come back to Tahoe just to train here some more.

Fantastic experience: Apogee Jiu Jitsu: Extremely welcoming environment for ALL! All skill levels, all body types, all humans. Grappling is a tough sport, and these guys and this environment they've created, make it a lot easier. I'm a small female, have been training a little over a year, and I've never felt anything but safe from the moment I first stepped on these mats 6 months ago. I know not every female grappler can say the same about gyms they've been to, which just goes to show how special this place is. If it's your first class ever, a coach will take you aside and teach you the basics. It's a casual environment, so while there is a team connection, there's no weird rituals and anyone is welcome to roll. Out of town guests are always welcome and treated with utmost respect. Questions are always welcome and encouraged, and if you don't want to roll, or something makes you uncomfortable, there's no pressure. They understand everyone is training for a different reason and have so much respect for that. Drop in and check it out! You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: this gym is the best`

Fantastic experience: My kids have been training for jiu jitsu at this gym for the past couple weeks. We have really enjoyed it. The coaches know what they are doing and work very well with the kids. I would recommend for any parents looking to put their kids into something. The gym is also very clean, there is a lady cleaning every time we go and she does a great job! Also, everyone who works there that we have met are very nice, and helpful!

Fantastic experience: One of the cleanest and friendliest places to train in Tahoe. Every time I'm in town, this is the place to keep my training rhythm. Plenty of free weights and machines. Willie-T helped me get situated and I recommend you ask for him when he's there!

Fantastic experience: My favorite gym in South Lake Tahoe! I am in the area quite frequently, and I always make time to hit up this gym. It is so clean, and very well maintained. They have all the equipment you need, and have two large, separate areas for weights and cardio. Extra points for having a ski erg (not many gyms have that). I really want to check out their classes as I hear they are really good! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Awesome place. Definitely wish they had more locations and gyms like theirs!

Fantastic experience: Recently visited this place while on vacation. The women running it was very nice and kind. The gym is beautiful inside. It’s small but they have more than enough there to keep you busy. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Really cute and clean gym in the South Tahoe area! I'm one of those people that works out on vacation and the hotel had their gym closed. (Pool open, makes no sense.) This gym was down the street and they couldn't have been nicer from answering my messages online to signing me up for a pass. And the entire time of working out a staff member was cleaning. Small, but has everything you need! Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Gym love is the bomb! The staff are so friendly, knowledgable and easy to talk to, and so are the gym- goers. I moved to SLT about a month ago, and have made most of my new friends through this gym. Amber does an amazing job at creating a welcoming environment. This little gym has everything you could want, with plenty of cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and a huge mat for jiu jitsu, stretching, yoga, etc. I'll be a regular at Gym Love for a looong time!

Negative experience: I came here to try this place out & was completely unimpressed. My first impression was less than stellar, the girl working at the front desk this morning was beyond rude to me, while walking around I noticed a lot of the equipment was visually dirty, which wasn’t the biggest deal breaker, but to have your employees be outright disrespectful to a potential client is baffling to me. Her poor demeanor kept me from signing up, & I will not be back, I would 100% steer clear of this place. I have zero tolerance for “entitled” people that treat others with such blatant disrespect.

Fantastic experience: This place rocks! Only $15 for a day pass. Super clean and all the equipment works. Friendly staff!! I finally have a place to workout at on my frequent trips to South Lake Tahoe.

Fantastic experience: Its hands down the best gym in South Lake Tahoe! There are a few others to select from, but Gym Love was right around the corner for us. Plus the weekly passes make it extra convenient. Good selection of weights downstairs along with some cardio upstairs. Only thing better would be a view of the lake :)

Fantastic experience: Visited this gym as a day pass user today. Showed up at 8am on a Thursday. Receptionist was friendly and got me in quickly. Price is fair for a day pass. I used the power rack, assisted pull up machine and dumb bells. Power rack is nice; very adjustable with both top pins and safety pins. Bars and plates in good shape. Good increments on the pull up machine. Same with dumb bells. Basically had the place to myself for what I used, and I was there until 9:15. Didn’t use the showers, but the restrooms were clean and the showers looked clean too. Whole place was pretty well maintained. Water from the fountain tasted good. They played some shaman-sounding music the whole time, which actually kind of vibed well with the slow resistance training I was there to do. Next time I’m in Tahoe, this is where I’m headed to train.

Negative experience: Gym Love charges a $5 monthly fee for credit card users. Even if you complete your setup online, where there is no mention of this fee either on the website or on the agreement you sign, you will be surprised with this fee once you go in to set up your membership. They claim that they only tell people about this fee verbally. Another name for this practice is "bait and switch"...

Fantastic experience: Small but great. Real friendly staff. Had day passes and plans for out of town people at pretty good rates too. Feels like neighbors. Great equipment and ambiance. Good amount of barbells. Towel service Only one shower stall in the entire place though. Don't know how that'd work in busy hours but there's comfy chairs and sports on TV if you had to wait.

Positive experience: Great little spot, if you can take working out in 80* . Not sure why the heat is up that high. Did one set and left cause it was too warm to workout in.

Negative experience: Nothing worse than going too a gym too work out and nobody can do a membership or day pass. Why dont you hire staff!!! Thank God for Anytime Fitness so professional and accommodating! Very disappointed in Gym Love

Fantastic experience: I’ve been in Tahoe for 40 years and a gym member for a majority of those years at a few different gyms - some still around, some not. Gym Love is by far the absolute best gym I’ve been a member of. Once you walk in the door you get that special vibe that is welcoming and energetic. Check it out - you’ll be hooked.

Positive experience: A very nice gym, has good equipment. Sometimes it's a little dirty, but not often. Not a bad place to get my 3am workout in. They used to provide towels to use the showers, or keep your sweat controlled. Make sure you bring you own so you aren't stranded after your sweat filled workout. The sauna is not open 24 hours, only during the daytime.

Fantastic experience: When you need big gym amenities with a family feel. I'm absolutely enamored with this place. Flying in from Austin, Texas for the holidays, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get my workouts in. Fitness centers rarely have guest passes that don't involve jumping through hoops to sign on for a year subscription. Cue GYM LOVE: an adorable gym freshly born a few months ago that surprisingly had everything I needed to hit every muscle group. Free weights? Check. Machines? Yuhp. In the limited square footage between two floors, they even included a rock wall! Signing up for a guest pass was the easiest experience I have ever had at a gym; Ashley and TJ at the front were really nice and made you feel special just for walking in. No pressure to sign up for anything extra, just positive vibes and awesome gains. In sum, if you're in the area (or just visiting) make sure to give this place a visit, as you'll find a surprisingly robust package with warm staff in a chic venue. I wish they had a place like this in Austin.

Fantastic experience: Gym Love, the best place to work out in South Lake Tahoe. Brand new equipment, towel service and free classes round this hidden gem out. Located near Heavenly Village this place is a perfect place to grab a power workout. 24/7 access via fab allow you to come when you want and onsite lockers and showers make this a perfect morning or evening routine for the busy local. When you come in TJ will give you a fitness assessment and help you get on track fast. As much as I want to keep this place a secret it is time to share with the rest of South Tahoe. A++++++
